In the backdrop around that episode, of the huge issues in Counter Intelligence - Gaad's murder and Martha Hanson's defection - it was the frustrating little things about that dinner at the Jennings, the dinner with Pastor Tim, that would not leave Beeman alone.

It is people who's language she doesn't speak, in a country she's never been. Living life as best she can, she finally contacts Henry. In 2017 by train to Rouses Point, she completes her parents' journey.

Several months after Phillip and Elizabeth escaped to Russia, Paige goes to Henry's college to finally talk to him.

The year is 1992. The Soviet Union has fallen, and Philip and Elizabeth have been recalled to their homeland. Henry, now a college student, is torn between his love for his parents and the only life he's ever known. A budding relationship with an American girl further complicates matters. I started this story before I knew how the show would end, so I guess it's now AU.

What happened to the characters in "The Americans" 5 years later and after the fall of the Soviet Union? This story proposes an answer.
