Chapter 15: A special delivery
Knock! Knock! Knock! "Come in!" yells Miranda. "Your Majesties, I have a letter from King James and Queen Sofia," states Baileywick. "Alright, what does it say?" asked Roland. Baileywick reads, "We the king and queen of Enchancia would like to inform you that Queen Sofia has given birth. Both the twins and the Queen are doing well and are healthy. We invite you to come to our little cottage in the woods for a small welcome party for Prince James the second and Princess Aria. Hope to see you there. Signed King James and Queen Sofia." In unison, they said, " Thank you." "Wait did you say cottage, Baileywick?" asked Miranda. "Yes, Queen Miranda, I did," he replied. Confused she says, Umm… I thought they were staying at the safe house on the outskirts of Enchancia. "They were staying at the safe house until about two weeks ago. When they moved into this cottage build by the Royal contractor," states Baileywick. "Wait a minute wasn't Sofia put on bed rest that incident that happened here at the castle?" asked Roland. "She was," answered Baileywick. "So how were they able to move?" asked Roland. "I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but this letter was sent out three weeks ago. So the babies are three weeks old today according to this letter. And the party is today as well." response Baileywick. "My goodness, why are we just getting this letter! There's a reason we have Royal express mail!" Miranda expresses strongly. "Honey, it's fine. They mailed from the cottage. The letter got placed with the mail we get from the village. Don't you remember they only send a delivery of the mail on the third week's end? Which would be today. We're lucky got the letter in time." Roland explains. "I know, Rollie Dear but didn't they have someone hand deliver this letter to the castle. We could have had it sooner than this." Miranda says. "If I May your majesties, they chose not to have any staff at the cottage to my understanding from what I gather from Greg," Baileywick says. "They what?!" They responded in unison. "That's unacceptable. They're members of the Royal Family. They're to have at least a guard at the cottage because their safety is of the uttermost importance." states Roland. Miranda adds, "Our grandchildren and children's come safety first. I don't mind them living outside of this castle but they're still Royalty. And not to mention they're still King and Queen of Enchancia with the future King/Queen o the throne. Whom care about greatly." " I believe your majesties. They are reconsidering ruling Enchancia because the incident that happened during Sofia's pregnancy and due to becoming parents of twins. Or at least that's what Greg told me he heard them discussing while staying at the safe house." Explains Baileywick. " Can they do that Rollie?" Asked Miranda. Roland replies, "If they chose to resign from ruling Enchancia, then the throne would go to Amber but I am little worried about how our allies would react to a commoner be a King. I honestly would mind since I married you, my love. I don't think they'll be totally on board with the roles being reverse this time." "Rollie, who cares what the other royals say! I believe we just need someone to rule Enchancia since we are no longer ruling. Am I am right?" states Miranda. "You are my love. Enchancia needs allies if we wanted war aid and trading goods from the other kingdoms."Roland explains. "I understand, Rollie but are you really going to make Amber chose a different suitor just to please our allies if she has to become queen," asked Miranda. "I don't want to but I may have to if our current ruling children chose to not rule anymore," says Roland. "I can't believe you!" Miranda screams. "And also I can't believe this all started from Aries! She's still making your life a living hell all these years later." "Miranda!" yells Roland. "I know. You never wanted to marry her but that bitch is going to make us regret getting married to one another. And allowing your son to marry his stepsister along with allowing Amber to date a commoner."Miranda utters aloud. "Miranda, I know you and Aries have a past that involves me but I am one hundred percent yours until the end. And not even Aries returns into our lives can change that." Rolands says. "But you were totally upset when James told you what during his childhood with his mother. And let's not forget the incident," says Miranda. "Miranda my love I believe this is a private matter that should be discussed between us," Roland say, "if you don't mind Baileywick would you kindly allow me and my wife to talk in private." Baileywick replies, "Of course, your Majesty. If you need me you know how to summon me." "Ah, of course, Baileywick," Roland replies. Miranda expresses her concerns, "This family is falling apart at the seams. It very sad." "Miranda, We're going to make it through this just like we always have with every other situation that has arisen in this family and kingdom." Miranda cries out, "Rollie dear, we almost lost James and Sofia along with our grandchildren because of that incident that no one will talk about. I get it's a difficult subject but something has to be said about the incident. And now they may be giving up their right to the throne because of this incident. Also, where does this leave our other child? Do you really think she going to be on board with breaking up with Dustin just so she can become Queen of Enchancia? That's a lot to ask of a twenty-one-year-old who engaged to someone who had feelings for another princess. She just called off an engagement nine months ago. You possibly want her to pick someone else because of our war aid and trading goods allies may not approve of her marrying a commoner. Roland, you married me a commoner! And look at the all we've done as King and Queen of Enchancia. So what's the difference if the roles are reversed this time possible." Shocked Roland replies, " Miranda dear I believe you miss interpreted my intentions for Amber possible becoming Queen of Enchancia. What I meant was I tell her my concerns about losing allies because of union between her and Dustin. I would never intently become my father and make her marry someone just keep the peace between the two kingdoms." "Rollie, you say and I quote, I don't want to but I may have to if our current ruling children chose to not rule anymore. So you clearly would do it if we lose too many allies because of this union. And that angers me deeply," expresses Miranda. "Well, Miranda why do you not trust me?" Roland asked. "I have faith that you will do the right thing if and when the time comes," replies Miranda. "Thank you," Roland says.
In another part of the castle, Amber was getting ready to visit her boyfriend, Dustin. "Hey, Violet does this look already for going to the village?" she asked. Violet cheerfully response, "Princess Amber, you look radiant. Dustin is so lucky to have as his girlfriend." "I can't believe you are his aunt," Amber says, "I guess that would make my handmaid my aunt in law when we get married." "Princess Amber I am so happy for you. We were all worried about you after the engagement to Prince Zandar ended. It nice to know you found someone that makes you happy." Violet says cheerfully. "I mean do you see this promise ring he got me yesterday from the jewelry shop." "it's a beauty," replies Violet. "I guess should tell my parents about the plans to get this married this winter," Amber says giddily. Violet response, " You should Princess Amber. They thrilled to know you and Dustin are ready to spend the rest of your lives together. Although I hear some changes maybe happen at the castle." Violet says. "How so?" asked Amber. "I am not sure, Milady," replies Violet. "Oh, okay," Replies Amber a little bum out. "I a going to let you finished getting ready to go see Dustin. Tell my nephew, his aunt says hello." Violet says. Amber response, "I will, Violet. And thank you so much for helping me." "You're welcome milady," says Violet. Amber walks down to the hallway and stairs to her father's study. She knocks on the door. "Come in," said Roland.
In Roland's study, Amber walks through the door. "Hey, Mom and Father!" Says Amber. "Hello, dear." They say. "Mom and Father, I have something to tell you." She says. "Goodness, Amber sweetie what's this about," replies Miranda concerned. "Yeah, honey. What's the matter?" Roland asked just as concerned as Miranda. "Oh, nothing serious. I promise. I just wanted to tell you that Dustin and I plan to get married in this winter." She says. " Oh my goodness, Amber that great but your father has something to tell," said Miranda. " Miranda, I am not discussing that with her now." He retorts. "Well, what is it, father? You can tell me." Amber responds. "It's nothing Amber," Roland replies. " I know you are lying because mom would have said it if you didn't have something to tell me but I am not going to force you to say anything," Amber replies sharply. "It's a bit of family matter so we'll discuss when we go see your siblings at their cottage in the woods this evening." Says Roland. "okay I understand." She replies, "Wait this evening?" "Yes, this evening dear," Miranda responds. "No, Dustin and I are having dinner with parents at Marble's this evening. That's when we planned to tell his parents. I'll reschedule our date for tomorrow evening since this family discussion seems very important." "Thank you dear for your sacrifice," replies Roland. "Your welcome Father. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go to call Dustin to tell him about the change in plans." Amber says upset. Amber leaves the study. "Well, did you hear what our daughter plans to do this winter? So are really going to ask her to break off another engagement just to please our allies?" asked Miranda. "No, I refuse to become my father. So I will not make her chose someone. We'll just have to stand strong as a kingdom if lose all our allies from this union. But hopefully, our current ruling children will continue to rule Enchancia." responds Roland. "That's my hope, too," says Miranda. "Shall we go get ready for this little announcement party for our grandchildren?" asked Roland. Miranda nods. Hand in hand they exit the study to go get ready for the party.
Hey readers, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It was a long time coming for this one. Sorry, for not post more often being a Polysomnography major this year has kept me busy this year but unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the program. Also had some personal things come up this year. I have been put out flames these last few months. And starting over fresh with a new attitude on life that involves being hundred percent myself and to not care about what others think or say. Story update will be a little unpredictable since I am job hunting at the moment. Hopefully, once I schedule going the update can come more frequently like they used to. Also, I believe it's about time to close the book on this story and start a new one. Don't worry we still have at least one or two more chapters left before I end this for good.
