Hey guys! Here's a new chapter. Please review and let me know how the story is going. I want to make sure I'm still doing a good job with it. Any suggestions or comments are always welcome!
Rienne was wearing a beautiful, sky blue summer dress with thin straps that reached down to her ankles. Exquisite white roses trailed and swirled themselves from the right side of the dress, all the way up to her chest. Her simple, white sandals were adorned with lovely small daisies. She wore her long curly hair in a simple bun with a large, blood-red orchid near her left ear. She had neither weapon nor armor with her. She had no intention of fighting anyone or anything today. She simply wanted to spend some time alone. Preferably just her and Jormungand, without Thor and company. Alas, that was not to be.
With gentle steps, she made her way to Odin's throne room. She was greeted by Thor and The Warriors Three. Sif was also there but did not acknowledge her presence. "My, you look lovely Rai." Frandal was looking her up and down.
"Yes, but why?" Thor smiled warmly at her.
"No particular reason… since you will not allow me to fight alongside you, I am simply going to spend some time with Jorg."
Odin cleared his throat. "I am sorry to say that only Thor and Rienne will be able going to Midgard."
"But All-Fath-" Sif was cut off by Odin.
"I do not have enough strength to teleport you all there. It shall be only be them. Now, Rienne please remember you are there only for Jormungand. Do not wonder off. When Thor has finished with business at Midgard, he shall come fetch you and you both shall quickly return here." Thor bowed his head in acknowledgement of his task and Rienne nodded as well.
"My king… words cannot express the joy and happiness you fill me with, by allowing me to see him." She had an impassive look.
Odin raised a brow and said, "I hope you feel the same at your wedding with my son." Sif was shocked. It seemed this was the first she'd heard of it. Thor simply looked away and said nothing. "Now I shall teleport you Rienne, to where Jormungand resides, you are to remain there and wait for Thor…. And you, Thor, shall be teleported where you need to be." Soon after he spoke, a radiant golden light surrounded them both and were promptly teleported to Midgard.
Sure enough, Thor landed smack-dab in the middle of Iron man and Captain America transporting a captured Loki. Rienne, landed on a small island in the middle of a great ocean. It was so dark and foggy that she could hardly see her hand in front of her face. There were a few trees that, in the darkness, looked very eerie. She walked out onto the cool sand that seemed to sparkled in the moonlight. She looked to her left, then to her right. All she saw was darkness. The water surrounding her looked like an endless black hole. "Jormungand…. Where are you?... Can you even… hear me?..." she spoke softly, afraid her voice would attract vicious monsters to come eat her. She thought herself silly. Surely she was alone on this island... and even if there were vicious monsters, she knew how to fight and defend herself. She sat down on the soft sand, holding her knees to her chest. Sighing, she looked at her toes as she felt the water hit her feet. "… Jorg… please… come to me…" she clasped her ring that dangled delicately around her neck, hoping that somehow he would hear her. Maybe Loki had placed some sort of tracking spell in the necklace?... One that would help her find the kids if she ever needed it. Or at least telepathically communicate with them? Now she was sounding ridiculous.
She tightly closed her eyes and kept squeezing the ring but nothing happened. Standing up and stepping into the water, she tried once more. "Jormungand... please show yourself to me…" a few moments later, the fog started to disappear. Rienne heard a loud hissing noise and she raised her head. Off into the distance she saw a sort of…. Head? It rose from the dark, endless waters and started making its way towards the island. She was terrified. Perhaps it was a monster that heard her and came to eat her. But as the monster came nearer, she saw green scales that shone brilliantly in the moonlight. Sure enough it was Jormungand. He was enormous. His head was the size of the biggest mountain Rienne had ever seen. She was indeed a bit terrified. What if he didn't remember her?... What if he saw her as his next meal?... Jormungand could have easily swallowed the island she sat upon.
As the beast got closer, Rienne noticed it was getting smaller. She was unaware that he could change his size at will. The snake was finally right in front of her and it flicked it's forked tongue. He watched her intently as if to await her first move. She was too afraid to do anything, even breathe, for even though he had changed his size, he was still large enough to swallow her whole. Suddenly, a strange thing happened… the monstrous snake was bathed in a soft green light… a light that came from the ring. A few moments later, there on the sand, stood Loki's second son, Jormungand, in his human form. He looked to be 17-18 years of age. The spitting image of Loki…
"M-mother?..." was all he managed to say before she took hold of him in a loving embrace.
They said nothing for what seemed an eternity. She cried uncontrollably, hugging her beloved Jormungand. Her heart was beating at a thousand times a second and his felt like it would explode in joy. Finally, trying to catch her breath, Rienne let go of the boy and looked upon his face.
"I knew…. I knew you would come back for me… In my heart I always knew… "He clenched his teeth trying not to cry and appear weak in front of her.
It was hard for her to speak. It felt like she had a rock in her throat. She sniffled, "I feel like I… I failed you … I failed you and your siblings… I couldn't protect you…I couldn't be there when you needed me the most… Jorg please… please forgive me…" He couldn't hold back anymore. He started wailing like a babe. He covered his eyes with his hands trying to control himself but it was to no use. He dropped down to his knees and cried. Rienne was now down with him and held him tightly.
"Sometimes I… I wondered if y-you… if you had forgotten… about m-me… about us…" He said in-between sobs.
"Don't be ridiculous you silly boy… you know I love you… you and your siblings… I would die without you three…" They sat there for a long time. Holding each other and crying like lost children. Whipping her tears away, she caught her breathe once more. "We are together again, and nothing will ever tear us apart. I promise you." Resting his head on her shoulder, he nodded. "Now, I hear you've been wreaking havoc in these waters."
He chuckled lightly at that. "I warned Odin of it… I have roamed all the oceans of this world… all the seas and rivers, devouring any mortal brave enough to try and 'lure' me out… did you know some of these humans call me the loch ness monster?"
She let out a soft laugh. "What in all the Nine Realms is that?"
"One of the several names I have apparently acquired throughout these years." He replied as he squished some sand through his fingers.
"Midgardians are…. Strange." They both chuckled. "I've missed you dearly…" she looked at him, taking note of his piercing green eyes. Just like his father….
"As have I mother." He stood up to stretch.
She sighed, "Jorg…" She was also standing now. He turned around to face her. "I'm afraid that by morning, I must take my leave from you… and head back to Asgard with Thor…"
He furrowed his brows in confusion. "But… you said you wouldn't leave me again…"
"I won't my son." She kissed his forehead. "I must return to Asgard because I am… to marry Thor…"
He abruptly pulled away from her. "What?! Why?!"
Looking up at the starry night sky, she replied, "I… have a plan." She looked back down at his now more confused face. "Perhaps I thought of it in my desperation and hate of Odin… but… I have decided this is what I shall do… I told the All-Father I would marry Thor if, he would let me visit you and your siblings as often as I like… however…." She looked at him with a very stern face. "Thor will only live long enough to make me queen… once that happens… I will make sure he is no more… and I will rid us of Odin as well… They will pay for what happened to Loki… Thor will be an unfortunate casualty of our revenge… I truly do not wish kill him but I know he would never willingly give me the throne, and once he found out I killed his father… well I'm sure he would come kill me."
He remained silent for a moment before speaking. "Are you sure of this?.. Mother… Odin is not some simple warrior you can easily pick off… he is ruler of all the nine realms! How could you possibly accomplish murdering him?..."
"We shall bring forth Ragnarok. While I was in my Valkyrie training, I had an opportunity to speak to the Norns… I managed to get them to show me part of the future… I read the runes they carved and have seen who will kill Odin… I have seen what will happen to you and your siblings… I am determined to twist fate in our favor."
"Mother… when did you become so… so…"
"Cynical?... Cunning?... Blood thirsty and maybe even… ruthless?..." she looked back up at the sky and he nodded. "…When he took you all away from me… first he took Loki… with all his favoritism of Thor and his neglect of his second son… he was the cause of all Loki's pain and suffering… and because we tried to help your father, he punished us … by isolating us and taking everything away, hoping to break us… but he only fueled my hatred for him… making me vow to take revenge…he made me a monster..."
"You are far from a monster…."
She smiled at him. "I will return for you Jormungand. I must visit your brother and sister first. I will speak to them and get them on board with the plan. After that, we can exact Ragnarok together. But for now… let's enjoy our time here." She sat on the cold sand with her legs outstretched. He laid down, his head on her lap, and closed his eyes.
"Killing Odin… that's madness…" Jorg said in a whisper.
Rienne closed her eyes as she stroked his hair. "It is madness… but your father would have done it."
Jormungand had a sly smile on. "Yes… but then again… I believe my father has always been a tad mad…"

-Loki's Point of View -
'How absolutely amusing… Thor and those two other fools are fighting each other.' I sat and watched them try to kill one another with a sly smirk. I could easily escape but what would be the fun in that? Besides, I need to infiltrate this… S.H.I.E.L.D place that Barton informed me of, and find this 'Hulk' beast. He will play a key part in the destruction of this pathetic realm…
As I sit here watching these pitiful Midgardian Mortals I laugh to myself… Do they truly believe themselves strong enough to stop me?... Absurd! I will make them all kneel before me and show my fath- … Odin… that I should have been the one to rule Asgard. Not that buffoon Thor…
I see the man of Iron raise his right hand and blast Thor in face and I chuckle. 'Well deserved' I thought. Mindlessly, Thor raises Mjolnir readying a lightning bolt. That idiot … doesn't he know that his lighting will only fuel this man of iron and not stop him? Yawning, I continue to watch this miserable battle. It seems the other man who was escorting me earlier, has now intervened to try and bring peace… Hmm? What's this now?... Of course Thor would try to smash this man's skull with Mjolnir…
There was a sudden blinding flash of lighting and what seemed to be sonic waves hit the air when Mjolnir collided with the man's shield. "Ugh…" I groan slightly from that explosion … It feels as though my ears are bleeding and my head will explode! That fool Thor! Is he really that dense?! All he ever thinks about is smashing! He never uses his head!
I roll over to one side but am suddenly apprehended by that man in the metal armor. The one with the shield is now by his side and they pull me up… rather forcefully might I add… I hear a loud noise and look up to the sky. I see another one of those blasted aerial contraptions the Midgardians have built and can only assume that's where they're taking me now…
Idiots… if only they knew I toy with them… there is no stopping me… there is no stopping the destruction that will follow… and soon… I will rule them all… they shall all kneel before me… their God … and Odin will have no choice to but swallow his pride and admit I was better suited for the throne.
'This place… smells' I thought as I am being escorted by some… what I can only assume to be, guards… This place looks… rather boring… nothing of interest… As I look to my right I see what I was looking for. It was Banner… Bruce Banner, the man to be a monster of extraordinary strength… apparently, he has the capabilities to transform himself into a mindless, green beast, that makes playthings of his fellow man… a dull creature that I must use quickly, or could pose a threat to my plans… how fortunate… The monster is delivered to me on a silver platter… I think things just got interesting after all…
"Wait." I hear Thor speak to the man with one eye as he places me inside some sort of …. Metal cage. The man says nothing but waits for Thor to speak again. "I must retrieve someone I brought with me before you interrogate my brother. I cannot leave her alone." 'Her?... ah of course… probably Sif…'
"Cant it wait? We have more important things to do right now." The one-eyed man is very impatient.
"No… If Loki is unwilling to talk and give us the information about the Tesseract… then perhaps she can persuade him." 'Really Thor?... You truly believe that Sif will persuade me to tell you about the Tesseract? You never cease to amaze me with your stupidity…'

There was a bright flash of lightning that was followed by thunder. Unexpectedly Thor appeared on the island with Rai and Jorg.
"Ah… uncle… how do you fair?" Jormungand was glaring at Thor. Rienne stood protectively in front of him.
"Do not fret, I will not harm him Rai. It is nice to see you again nephew. I am doing fine… and yourself?"
"Ah just wonderful uncle… living here with fish… swimming through Midgard's waters… Existing off the flesh of these puny mortals…" He gave Thor a sinister smirk.
Raising a brow, Thor cleared his throat, "Very well then…. Rienne we must be off. I need your assistance with something." She gave him a nod and turned to Jorgmungand. Giving him a hug and a good-bye kiss on the forehead, she stood by Thor ready to depart. Jormungand calmly walked into the dark ocean, as he slowly started changing back into his monstrous snake self. Moments later he was not visible any longer and Thor took off with Rienne trailing behind in her Valkyrie chariot.
"So how will this girl help us again?" Nick Fury eyed Rienne carefully. She paid him no mind. She was too interested in her surroundings. Never had she seen such a contraption before in her life. Her mind was racing with curiosity. She wanted to roam around this 'plane,' as the Midgardians called it, and see what she could find.
"Her name is Rienne. She is a Valkyrie and has earned herself an honorable place in the King's Guard." He walked past the one-eyed man and looked through a window. Rienne wanted to peer inside as to what he was looking at but opted not to. "Has he said anything regarding the Tesseract?" Thor tried to avoid mentioning Loki as best he could.
"I'm afraid not… Natasha is speaking to him now." Rienne turned around to see who was speaking. It was a blond man. Very handsome she noted. A red-headed woman abruptly walked in. Rienne assumed that must've been Natasha.
"Well I found out what Loki's up to." She spoke to the one-eyed man. Rienne went stiff. She didn't want to show her shock, in fear that Thor would take notice. 'Loki…. Is….. Alive?!' She had to remain calm. It took every fiber of her being to take a deep breath and suppress the goose bumps that threatened to appear. Thor turned to her but didn't seem to notice her wavering demeanor. She cleared her throat, "Loki?... Thor who is Loki? And what's going on? Why am I here?"
