This is part 1 of 2 of flashback chapters. I hope to get part 2 up very soon. Thank you for all the reviews and a to all the readers!

The following morning, Rienne was sitting at Yggdrasil's base. She decided not to visit Loki today since she figured he was still aggravated. He needed time to think… and so did she. What was she to do?... Was she really going to go through with the wedding?... Or should she run away?... Just run away and forget all this ever existed…

The grass surrounding the great life tree was as soft as a cloud, green as emeralds, and smelled like the sweetest flowers…. The girl closed her eyes and took in the indulgent caress of a gentle breeze that passed. She looked up to the sky. Clouds had moved in to cover the sun and perhaps there would be rain today. It was perfect for meditation. "Great Yggdrasil… please… tell me… what should I do?..."

~If you want me to show you the answer… it will cost you….~

"I am not asking for something permanent like Odin did… you gave the All-Father the power to see the future and past on a whim… all I ask for is the answer to my dilemma… or at least to be stirred into the right direction."

~You Agardian's are no different than the Midgardian Mortals… always asking for the answer to be handed to you…~

"Please Great Yggdrasil… help me… I am prepared to give you some of my life span if it so pleases you…"

~I am eternal… even at Ragnarok I shall remain standing… what will a measly few years shaved off your life do for me?...~

"Absolutely nothing I suppose… I do not have anything else I could possibly offer… if it's any consolation at least you shall be rid of me sooner than expected…"

There was no response from the all-knowing tree of life. For a moment Rienne was worried… perhaps she had angered the tree and would just get rid of her now… Perhaps she over stepped her boundaries with the great god of life…

~I shall take ten years off your remaining lifespan… and in return I shall show you of things long past... only you can decide what path to take… no one… not even I can decide for you…~

Memories soon flooded the brunet's mind…. memories Rienne had long forgotten… memories of a love so strong it made her heart start beating faster in her chest, making her concentration sway for a fleeting second….

~~~~~~~~~ Flash back (Rienne and Loki as children) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The first rose to bloom my lady." Thor handed Rienne the beautiful red flower. "Would you like to join me for a walk around the gardens?" As the young brunette took the delicate rose, she placed it gently under her nose. Taking a sniff, she smiled.
"Wow! It smells wonderful! Yes let's go look at the new blooming flowers!" Thor softly took her right hand in his and she held the flower under his nose. As he tried to smell the rose's alluring fragrance, water suddenly spewed from it and Thor started to cough. It went up his nose and had startled him. Rienne dropped the flower and let out a surprised gasp. Loki rounded the corner and feigned worry for his brother.
"Brother you should be more careful… you never know when things could jump out at you and attack." Loki held a nonchalant gaze. Rienne shook her head at Loki, who only shrugged, and Thor continued to cough and tried to catch his breath.
~~~ Flash back (Just a few years before Loki met Angrboda and had his three children)~~~

Loki placed a hand on Rienne's shoulder. She was in a huff and had her back to him. She tried ignoring the green-eyed god but he wasn't having it.

"Rai, I know it was you who placed infant snakes in Freyja's Ale." He forced her to turn around and face him. She only shrugged her shoulders and looked away. "Though I thought it rather humorous when she screamed, you shouldn't have done it."

Rienne sighed and glared up at him. She was rather short compared to Loki. "I only learned from the best." He smirked and she pouted. "Loki… I'm only trying to look out for you! She's a bitch! I'm not sure what she wants with you but whatever it is, it's nothing good!"

Loki tried to control his temper. "Freyja is visiting from the Vanir kingdom that father is trying to make peace with. Why are you trying to scare her away? First it was you frightening the horses so they would throw her off, then she suffered an 'unfortunate accident' at dinner when her dessert exploded and now this."

"You can't prove it was me." She crossed her arms over her chest.

"Rai… you know I only have eyes for you." He would always tease her this way. She was confused as to whether Loki truly did like her or not. She always thought he was just trying to fluster her, so she set aside his harmless flirting.

"Oh shut up Loki! You know what?! Fine! If you want to let her whoring hands wander all over you? I won't stop it! You'll see! When she tries to murder you in your sleep after you've fucked her, you'll beg for my forgiveness but I won't give it to you!" She left in a huff.

"Don't be jealous! She'll be gone soon enough!" Loki yelled after her only to be followed by his snickering after Rienne flipped him off in response.

~~ A few days later ~~

"Where is it?!" Loki frantically searched his bedroom for the golden necklace. He knew Freyja desired it and after what she did to obtain it, there was no way in hell she would let Loki hand it over to Odin.

Loki had informed the love goddess that he saw her sleep with all the dwarves for the beautiful necklace and she was nothing more than a whore. He managed to steal the necklace that they had fashioned and threatened to tell Odin of her disgusting act. She panicked and was now wrapped around Loki's finger. She had agreed to sleep with Loki as many times as he wanted without question, if he were to give it back to her. Of course Loki was using her and would tell Odin of it later once he was done with her.

Freyja was the most beautiful woman in all of Asgard and the Vanir. Perhaps even the universe. There was no one alive that could match her beauty. Odin had even slept with her numerous times, much to Frigga's distaste. Rienne was unaware of this predicament and thought she was just being a sly whore, trying to sleep with Loki for money or who knows what else. So she tried to scare her away from Asgard in hopes that she would never return. Freyja however, would never leave without that necklace. They say that the golden trinket makes anyone so envious of its beauty, they will do absolutely anything to obtain it. It seems it was true, since the beautiful and honorable Freya lowered herself to a lowly whore to have it.

Now it was missing. Loki knew for a fact he did not misplace it, so who could have taken it? Freyja was an obvious suspect but he couldn't rule out anyone else just yet. He needed to find it immediately. Loki had already told Odin of what happened and in a fury, he ordered him to bring the necklace. If he didn't provide it soon, Odin would explode in anger and there was no weaseling out of this one.

Two servants happened to walk by and Loki pulled them both aside. "No one is to leave the palace until I find that necklace! Call every one of my servants in here immediately!" They did as they were told and a few minutes later, there were several servants right outside Loki's chambers, including Rienne.

"Prince Loki, what's going on?" Though Rai and Loki were the best of friends, she was still just a maid and a guard in training. She had to address both Thor and Loki properly, at least in front of others to keep up appearances.

"Everyone standing here are my personal servants. Out of all of you, there are only three who have access to my chambers. The necklace I was to present to my father is missing and no one is to leave until I have it returned! Rest assured when I find out who it was, they shall be severely punished." Loki's eyes were filled with rage. "I have called you all here because though only three of you enter my bedroom, I will not take any chances and will interrogate all of you." The servants exchanged nervous glances. No one was going to admit it was them. Loki paced the floor looking at every single person, Rai included.

He gave them all an intense glare. Rienne had only seen such malice held in his eyes a few times. Once, when Loki found out Sif only slept with him to release her sexual frustration for Thor. Needless to say when Rai found out she was extremely upset however, she reasoned she was no one to question what the prince does. Even if she loved him he obviously didn't love her and only saw her as a friend. She had given up romantic hope with Loki at that time but still valued their friendship. So much so that she helped Loki cut off Sif's golden locks while she slept as revenge for using him.

Another time he held such maliciousness was when Thor completely humiliated him at a bar. They had placed a bet, unknown to Loki, that they could get him to make a fool out of himself with one of the bar whores. Sure enough, Thor paid a woman to falsely flirt with Loki and feign interest in him. Loki was no Stanger to whores. He had his fair share of them and he was known to have his way with a few servant girls. He was never violent or mean but it angered Rienne to no end. She however, remained silent. She had no right to judge him, it was just her jealousy.

The bar whore flirted with Loki to the point where he decided to get a quick fuck out of the way. It turned out the bar whore was actually a gay man. The icing on the cake was that, the man was also a sorcerer. He placed a spell on himself to appear as a very beautiful woman to have his way with men. The only problem was that he failed to change his genitals. That's how Loki unfortunately found out. Thor, The warriors three and even Sif all laughed at him. Holding their sides to the point they couldn't breathe. As revenge, Loki transformed Thor into a woman for a month, ignoring Thor's please and threats to change him back. Loki even went as far as to gather suitors to try and marry his brother off, or have those men try to have their way with Thor. It was an extremely awkward month for everyone...

"Who has it?!" Loki yelled, his face getting slightly red from anger. Rienne took a shaky step forward.

"My prince please try to calm down, I promise to assist you in finding it if you let me." Loki turned to the girl and gave her a harsh glare. Before he could answer her however, Freyja appeared.

"Loki… this is rather awkward… I was just about to inform you of something I saw last night…" She held a smirk on her face.

"It will have to wait. I regret to inform you that someone here has taken the necklace you hold so dear. I'm in the process of finding out who it was." Loki continued to pace the floor giving everyone an intimidating glare.

"Wonderful! I know who it is my dear prince." He looked over at her, surprise and urgency evident on his features.

"I was wandering the halls only moments ago to try and find you. I had some urges that needed to be taken care of, you see and I came across your chambers. I thought maybe you were there and so I knocked on the door. To my surprise however, I saw her *points to Rienne* walk out. She didn't say anything to me but simply walked away. I know I shouldn't have but I found it rather suspicious, so I entered your chambers. I looked around but you weren't there so I left. As I did, I saw her slip something into the very bag she is holding now. I couldn't make out exactly what it was but I suspect it's the necklace." She crossed her arms over her large breasts and her smirked grew wider.

"These are very serious accusations Freyja… are you absolutely sure of what you saw?" Loki looked over at Rienne who gave him a nervous glance.

"Yes. Also, I know it was her who has been trying to scare me away from here. I want Justice Prince Loki. I want her punished for those horrid things she did to me! And I want her punished for stealing my necklace!"

"And you shall receive it, IF it truly was her." He turned to Rienne. "How do you plead to those accusations Rienne?"

"She's obviously lying! I would never steal anything! Especially not from you! I was coming back from the kitchen. I had to stay a little later than usual to help the head maid prepare some things for your parent's anniversary dinner, I swear it!" Her eyes were pleading for him to believe her.

"Take a look!" Freyja shoved her hand into Rienne's plain leather bag and pulled out the golden, priceless necklace. "See! She steals from you and lies to your face!"

"Everyone out!" All the servants gave Rai a worried look but promptly left. "Care to explain this?" Loki's voice held a tinge of disappointment yet authority as he clutched the necklace tightly.

"I don't know how that got into my bag! Loki-"

"PRINCE LOKI TO YOU, THEIF!" Rienne's eyes grew wide. He had never spoken to her that way. "You shall address me appropriately servant! I am beyond furious! …. Freyja," Loki turned to her, his eyes softening a bit. "I ask you to please leave me. I must deal with her. I can assure you justice will be given for what she's done to you." Freyja smiled, satisfied. Though she wanted to stay and see the punishment Loki would bestow upon her, she nodded and gave Rienne a sly smirk before leaving. Closing the door, Loki stared back at Rai. Her heart was beating violently against her chest in fear and anxiety.

"L-Loki… please believe me, I swear to you I didn't take it! She's an enchantress is she not? I'm sure it was her that placed it in my bag! Perhaps it is an illusion of some sort?... I don't know but please… Loki I've never lied to you… not once!" She could feel tears beginning to form.

"ENOUGH!" He had startled her and she was silenced. "Rienne I've had enough of your lies! Didn't I tell you to leave Freyja alone?!" His face was only inches from hers and she slightly shook in fear. She had heard of the things Loki did to disobedient servants. Apparently, that's all she was to him… who knows what he would do to her… "I knew I would regret bringing you here… you're nothing more than a lowly, poor, thief who I tried to help by giving you shelter in my home and how do you repay me?... by sneaking into my chambers, stealing from me, then lying about it to my face!" His back to her now. "Get out of my sight… I need time to think about a fitting punishment." Rienne stayed put. She felt like a quiet little mouse in the clutches of an evil snake. Any movement and she'd be devoured for sure. "GET OUT!" she scurried out the door without any words of protest or defense.

In her bedroom, Rai slumped into her bed. Her face buried in pillows to drown out the sounds of frustrated screaming. Tears that spilled from her face were not in sadness but of anger. She abruptly stood up and smacked a full-length mirror to the floor, causing it to shatter. Startled, she remained still. Looking into the broken pieces of glass on the floor she could see herself staring back. Red eyes, hair stuck to her face from crying, and cheeks flushed. "I've done nothing wrong…" she said to herself. Minutes later, taking a deep breath, Rienne grabbed a bag from her closet and started filling it with a few articles of clothing. She grabbed a few things from her bathroom and securely closed the bag. "I'm sorry I was such a burden to you Loki…" With that, she left the remainder of her bedroom in shambles and left the palace. In her mind, she was never to return. Never to once again gaze longingly at that handsome prince she came to love.

"Father, I have brought you the necklace, as promised." Loki was standing in front of Odin, who raised an eyebrow at him. Reaching into his pocket for the trinket, Loki's eyes went wide. The only thing he could feel was a piece of string with a small rock tied to it. He searched his other pocket but found nothing. 'What the fuck is going on?!'

"Well?" Odin was losing his patience.

"Just a moment father, I'm sure I have it here somewhere…" He continued to frantically look in his pockets but found nothing.

"How can you have the necklace when I just saw Freyja with it, fastened securely around her neck?"

"What?..."

"I just saw Freyja heading to her chambers only moments ago, with the necklace still attached to her. I told you to bring it to me. Is this some kind of game to you Loki?" If it was, Odin was not having fun.

"I believe I've made a terrible mistake father…. Please allow me to correct it." He gave the All-Father a quick bow and ran out the door. He made his way to Freyja's bedroom only to find it securely locked. Loki quickly transformed into a fly and squeezed through a small hole by the door. There, he saw the goddess sleeping with the necklace around her neck. Loki mentally cursed himself. He would never hear the end of it from Rai now. Setting that aside, he focused on the matter at hand. Transforming into a flea, Loki bit Freyja's delicate neck, causing her to stir and swat at Loki. She didn't wake up but turned over, exposing the necklace's clasp. He quickly unfastened and removed it from her neck. He collected the necklace and left the room as silently as he entered it.

Surrendering the priceless item over to Odin, Loki dismissed himself, saying he had other important business to attend to. He left the punishing of Freyja, for her disgusting way of obtaining the necklace, over to his father.

Swiftly making his way to Rienne's bedroom, Loki stood before her door unable to gather the courage to knock on it. He was so ashamed for blaming her… for not believing in her… for the things he said to her… he was afraid she didn't want anything to do with him now and who could blame her? Sighing he finally worked up the courage to knock. No answer. Knocking several times more and waiting, still, there was no answer. Perhaps she was extremely angry with him and wouldn't open the door? Transforming into a fly again, he entered through the keyhole. Back in his normal body, he took a look around her bedroom. There was broken glass all over the floor and her closet was a mess. Articles of clothing missing and bed in shambles, Loki feared the worst. She left him…
