There was a heavy knock on Rienne's bedroom door that forced her awake. Groaning, and placing a robe around herself, she reluctantly answered. Sure enough it was Thor looking for Loki. "Never did I think I would see you in such a vulnerable position my lady…" Thor gave Rai a sly smirk. Loki placed a hand on her shoulder, now fully clothed and ready to go. She held her robe tighter and turned to give Loki a kiss goodbye.
"I shall return shortly." Loki gave her a small, quick hug.
"Please be careful…. Both of you." Thor gave her a nod and then they departed. She stared longingly after Loki, watching him walk further and further away from her. He didn't go into details but briefly explained about their plan to stop Malekith. She was worried…. The Dark Elves were nothing to trifle with, and they were heading straight into the lion's den.
Rienne didn't have time to dwell on this though. She had plans of her own. The easiest child she could free at the moment was Fenrir. She would have to wait to free Jormungand and Hella once Loki returned. Rai dressed herself in battle armor and promptly made her way towards the cave that housed the giant wolf. Running down the halls, she saw guards swarming around like ants. They were scrambling to bring order to the city.
Once outside, she saw townspeople scurrying to their homes in hopes of protection. It seemed the guards were trying to stop Thor and Loki from leaving Asgard. Perfect distraction. While they were all busy with them, she could free Fenrir.
Bypassing everyone, she finally made it to the underground cave. She figured no one would be here and would be able to reach Fenrir easily. Unfortunately for her, Tyr, God of War, was present. He held his hand up to Rienne and stopped her. "What are you doing here?" He eyed her suspiciously.
"Just paying my son a visit. Is that wrong?" She tried to keep her cool, though he had flustered her a bit.
"No… suspicious yes… why the sudden visit when Loki escapes from prison?" Tyr wasn't stupid. He knew she was up to something.
"I just came to relay a message to him from his father." She tried keeping her cool.
"Yes… his father… tell me Rienne… what exactly do you see in Loki?" He moved dangerously close to her.
"A lot more than I'll ever see in you." She retorted. Rai tried to get past him but he matched her steps and prevented her from doing so. Tyr took hold of her left arm harshly and pinned her to the wall.
"So you like cowards? Sniveling worms that lie and cheat? You're pathetic." His face inched closer to hers. Tyr kept her in place, though she struggled in his grasp.
"Release me." She hissed.
His nose touched hers and he let his lips hover Rai's for a second before forcing himself on her. He forced his tongue into her mouth and she easily granted him entrance. "See?... Don't you like strong men like me, better?"
"You're not my type." She whispered. Suddenly, Tyr let out a howling scream and shoved Rai out of his way. She had bitten part of his tongue off. He was on the floor, bleeding and screaming. "Serves you right!" With blood dripping down her chin, Rai had to make her way to Fenrir quickly, before Tyr recovered.
Fenrir was curled in ball, still in his human form, trying to get some sleep. He had just finished a meal that Tyr had brought him. The boy tossed and turned, since the ground wasn't the most comfortable place. The second he heard someone approaching him, he stat up. Fenrir always had his guard up, in case another stupid knight or warrior tried their luck against his bound form. Thinking it was Tyr again, he growled in annoyance. "Do not growl at me boy." Rai slowed her pace as she approached Fenrir.
"Sorry, I thought you were Tyr." He stood up to hug his mother. "It's been a while… I missed you." She gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"I missed you too my son. But now is not the time for a happy reunion. I've come to set you free, as promised." He chuckeled.
"And how do you plan on doing that? This ribbon cannot be broken and need I remind you, Tyr waits at the end of the cave? …" He crossed his arms defiantly.
"I bit Try's tongue off." Rai was fiddling with the blasted ribbon, trying to rip it or break it.
"What?! What the hell happened?!... Did you kill him?"
"No. He will be here any second for revenge, I must set you free now!" She was tugging at the ribbon now.
"Wait!" Fenrir placed a hand on hers. "If you did find some way to break Gleipnir… my freedom symbolizes the start of Ragnarok…"
"Yes, and?"
He let out a heavy sigh. "What will father rule if all the nine realms are destroyed?" Rai let go of the ribbon and stared into Fenrir's dark eyes.
"There is something I need to tell you…. But first I must release you of this bond."
"Mother… I am prepared to suffer for all eternity here… as long as you and my siblings are safe…" His hold on her hand softened and his eyes held sadness.
"You won't have to. Trust in me." He nodded and released her. Rienne was holding Gleipnir with both hands and started to pull. This thing had to break! It just had to!
"Damit! You stupid ribbon, BREAK!" she tugged as hard as she could and just when she was about to give in, *rrriiipppp* the ribbon split in two.
"What the?! How were you able to break it and I couldn't?!" Fenrir was shocked and not to mentioned a little emasculated. Rienne wasn't nearly as strong as he, so how could she break Gleipnir and he couldn't?!
"I'll explain later! We have to make our way to Yggdrasil and into Hella's domain, before Odin realizes you're gone!" She grabbed his arm and they both started to run out of the cave. Tyr was gone… there was a trail of blood leading out of the cave…
"Hurry Fenrir! Tyr must have gone to Odin!" She didn't have to tell him twice. Fenrir transformed into his monstrous wolf form and allowed Rai to sit atop him. As soon as she was secure, he bolted towards Yggdrasil.

"Ok… now what?" Fenrir was human again.
"Sniff around for rotting flesh." Rienne was looking around Yggdrasil's tree roots for something.
"O….K…." Fenrir started sniffing around for anything that held a foul odor. A few minutes later, he let out some gagging sounds and pointed towards one of the tree's roots.
"Yes! Let's go, hurry!" She grabbed the boy's arm and dragged him down the tree root.
It felt like hours before they finally landed with a loud 'thump.' "Here it is…the entrance to Helheim…"
