The small group of vampires shielded their eyes from the sunlight that was now beating down upon them. Many of them would have prefered to wait till night but Rose had assured them that attacking in the daylight was the most effective way. Of course, having experience in the hunting field, they decided to trust her.
Zero eyed her carefully, making sure to stay glued to her side. He didn't know why, but a large feeling of dread build up in his stomach. The thought swirled around and a part of them felt like this would be the last time they would be together for some reason.
Knowing how reckless she could be in his stead, Zero knew to not leave her side.
Rose on the other hand welcomed his company and tried to remember the body heat that was radiating off of him. "When we get the estate, we will enter through the back. That will cause less guards to come after us."
The vampires nodded their heads and Ruka stepped forward in question. "So, do you actually have a plan for all of this?"
Hanabusa responded with a glare but Rose didn't seem to mind her question. "Yes, I've been thinking about this moment for years. Of course I have a plan."
This seemed to silence Ruka as they turned the corner of the town.
Suddenly, a large blur flew in front of them and the surrounding vampires got into position for a battle. Zero and Hanabusa both stepped in front of Rose protectively as the male hunter pulled his gun.
One voice seemed to raise above the rest as a male presence stepped forward. He seemed to be slightly older then Rose with long brown hair and carrying some sort of bag. "Which one of you is Lady Adelaide?"
The man surfaced the crowd as Hanabusa and Zero's hold tightened around her in warning.
Of course, Rose knew she could protect herself and looked between the boys before calling out. "What do you want with me?"
Eyes glistening, the man stepped forward towards her without question and Rose slowly started to reach for her bow when he did something unexpected.
Rose watched as the man and the people behind him all turned and kneeled before her in respect. They bowed their heads as the man spoke first. "Lady Adelaide, we have heard of your mission and would like to offer our services."
Rose blinked a few times and turned her head in question, slightly uncomfortable that they had yet to stop bowing. "Help? And why would you want to do that? You don't know anything about me."
Nodding once, the man raised his head and spoke. "Lady Adelaide, we are all Level E vampires, what some call the trash of the street. Nobody would ever speak of us but you, you were also turned. And even so, you speak for us, treat us as equal. I know we don't have many moments of sanity left but if we can be of use to you, we will comply."
Standing in shock Rose thought about the events that happened last night and concluded that word must have traveled fast. It wasn't everyday that a pureblood stepped out of line but that also meant more threats for the group, esspecally Zero.
She stepped forward and looked at the group that were still lowered to the ground. Honestly, she wasn't sure if bringing them with the group was a good idea but she also knew that they needed all the manpower they could get.
Rose took a moment before kneeling down to meet the group at eye level, a sign of equality. She met his eyes at spoke with a slight tone of authority. "This isn't going to be easy. Carson knows we are coming so I can't guarantee your safety."
The man looked up and nodded his head before grabbing her hand quickly which cause the people around her to step forward in warning. Rose just waved them off and let the man finish his thought. "Please my Lady, none of us have much to live for anyways. Most of us were also turned unwilling by purebloods and lost our families. All we want is to be able to do something to stop this cycle, just like you."
She really hated to admit it but Rose felt sympathy towards the group because if she wasn't a pureblood, then she would've been in that same group. The thought of multiple vampires here being turned unwilling brought a heavy drop in her stomach. In more ways than one, she understood them. "Fine, you are free to join. Although, I don't take responsibility for your safety."
The faces around the crowd rose into an excited fashion and finally stood back up before letting go of her hand and nodding. "Thank you, thank you Lady Adelaide."
Turning around back to her destination, she walked past the group before freezing. "Oh, one more thing, don't call me Lady Adelaide. It's just Rose."
He smiled lightly before bowing once and answering. "Of course, Lady Adel- I mean,
Rose."
As the large mansion rose into the distance, Rose felt a large chill run down her back and froze in her steps. Hanabusa seemed to notice this first and gently touched her shoulder in concern. "Rose, are you okay?"
She just stared at the house in sighed loudly before running her fingers through her hair, a telltale sign that she was nervous. "Ahh yeah sorry. It just, I never thought I'd be back here like this. That place, it was my prison."
Zero inched himself closer to her and lighty put his hand on her other shoulder for comfort. She seemed to welcome the touch as he sighed.
At first he was going to suggest that she stay behind if these memories were too painful but deep down, he knew she would never do that. This was her fight after all.
They continued to walk until a soft light could be seen through the windows and they stepped through the large gate. It seemed quiet, a little too quiet.
Cycling around to the back of the house they still had yet to see any guards which was highly unusual, given the fact that they knew she was coming.
Rose dug until she found just what she was looking for. Covered by large stones and vines was what looked to be a back door of sorts.
Kain eyed the destruction carefully and noticed that it seemed a bit familiar. "How do you know about this entrance again?"
She paused for a minute before glancing at Zero with an unreadable expression and stating quietly. "Because this is the same entrance Shizuka used to escape from. These vines, they were mine."
For some reason she seemed ashamed of that statement but before they could ask Rose lifted her hand up and the vines disintegrated into nothing. "Back then I didn't have control of my powers."
They then watched her as she pushed the rocks away, only leaving a gaping hole in the building. It seemed that this was made into an entrance, not build as one.
Looking at the darkness before them, Rose balled her fists up in anxiety at the place she was about to enter. Feeling her sense of dread, Zero stepped forward and intertwined his hand with hers for unspoken support.
She smiled slightly at the action before glancing at Hanabusa, and suddenly, her voice through the blood bond echoed in his ears. Hanabusa, please keep him safe. No matter what happens to me, please, make sure he's alive.
Hanabusa didn't exactly like word choice she had used but he also knew now wasn't the time for arguing, he just needed to be there for her. Of course, I will try my best Rose.
Nodding her head once, probably confusing the others with all the silence they understood each other.
Then with one long breath of courage, the group stepped into the dark empty space. Of course, it seemed they didn't have to wait long as the lantern on the walls sprung to life and they could get a better view of the surroundings.
Standing before them was a large empty space. The only thing that was decorating the room was a large steel metal cage on the far left side and a large wooden staircase leading up to another entrance of some kind.
Ruka strolled up to the cage in question and turned her head in confusion. "Why is there a cage in here?"
She moved to touch the bars when Rose leaped forward and grabbed her hand forcefully before harshly whispering. "Don't touch that! The bars have an electric current running through them. If you even touch them then it will shock you. Just, be careful."
The aristocrat eyed the bars in question with a new found fear. That is, until Rima moved closer and questioned Rose's response. "And how do you know so much about this anyways?"
Senri sleepily agreed with Rima and nodded once. "Yeah, what kind of monster was locked up down here?"
Hanabusa gasped at his friend's carelessness and slapped him on her shoulder aggressively, to which he jumped at. "Senri, Rima! Stop it."
Rose just looked between the two and put her hand up in reassurance. "It's fine Hanabusa, it's not like they know."
Then she glanced at the cage before speaking. "The monster you are referring to was Shizuka Hio, and then after she escaped, it was me. Are we done with the questions now?"
The room turned silent for a moment and nobody dared to speak. Instead, only terrible terrible thoughts ran through the heads of the aristocrats. They wanted to ask her so many questions but it seemed none of the words left their mouths.
Ruka especially seemed extra disgusted about this recent development. It made her wonder just how much Rose had gone through. And yet, here she was judging her all the same. It made her feel terrible inside.
Although, it seemed the room didn't remain silent for long as someone's voice carried above the crowds. "You know, we wouldn't have had to use that tactic if you had just complied with our orders. But I do suppose that was never in your personality to begin with."
Rose's blood froze she she watched Matthew strolled out from the darkness. He pushed his glasses up and stopped in the middle of the room.
The pureblood just hissed in response and reached for her arrows before answering sarcastically. "Matthew, what a pleasant surprise as always."
Her tone was not lost on him as he just sighed in frustration and spoke. "I told you not to come here Rosabella. You should have heeded my warning."
She just smirked at his words and stepped forward. "Yeah well, like you said, orders aren't in my personality."
Matthew shook his head in disappointment at reached his hand up before narrowing his eyes. "You only have brought this upon yourself then."
Snapping his fingers once, a hundred vampires filled into the space. Some of them blocked the exit while others stood in front of the entrance to the taste. It seemed like they were surrounded.
Trying one last time, Matthew spoke out to Rose to get her to stop. "It doesn't have to be like this Rosabella. All you have to do is send your army home and come back with us. You are a pureblood vampire, not a common Level E. Lord Ackerman will provide you with the finest things, just step away from that lowly vampire and come back. Your uncle will forgive you then."
Rose stood frozen at his words before soundlessly bringing her arrow up and shooting one of Carson's henchmen in the chest before looking up and spitting. "He's not my uncle."
The look of murder in her eyes was unmistakable as Matthew just narrowed his eyes and ordered. "Take her."
Suddenly the guards sprung to action, all of them leaping for Rose but the night class students got there first, blocking the path.
Rose quickly turned to the Level E's and shouted quickly. "Go secure the exit! Rima, Ruka, Kain and Senri, take the upstairs!"
They nodded quickly and battered through the guards to the entrance of the house. The only two people left by her side were Zero and Hanabusa.
Matthew just looked at the three and they watched as he reached into his pocket and pulled out two silver encrusted swords.
Rose got into position for a battle when Hanabusa lightly pushed her aside and shouted. "I'll take him, you two go find Carson."
She nervously looked towards Matthew and he could feel her anxiety. With one quick move he grabbed her head and kissed it lightly before speaking. "Rose, I'll be okay. I'm not gonna die on you anytime soon. Just go, find Carson."
Taking a moment of silence she nodded her head before grabbing Zero's hand and pulling him towards the now opened door to the hallway.
When they were gone, Hanabusa faced Matthew who was gazing at him intently. It was almost as he was trying to see through him. "How touching. Can you really keep that promise though? We shouldn't lie to our masters like that."
Hanabusa gritted his teeth in response and started to loosen his tie before hissing, stepping forward with intent. "But I'm not like you."
Rose and Zero rounded the corner of the hallway, finding nothing but a bunch of dust. It seemed that the night class student were being extremely useful.
Rose sighed in relief until she saw an object in the corner of her eye and heard Zero shout. "Rose, watch out!"
She turned just in time to block the attack and threw the enemy off of her before Zero pointed his gun and let off a shot.
But it seemed that the fight was far from over as thirty more guard blocked the hallway, closing them in.
Rose cursed under her breath knowing exactly what Carson's game was. "He's blocking us in so that when we reach him, we will have exerted ourselves too much, making it easier for him to win."
Zero seemed to understand and knew she wasn't going to like his new plan but it's what had to be done. "Rose, you go. I'll stay here and take care of these guards."
She reacted just like he thought she would. A strong look of horror crossed her face as she threw off another attacker. "What?! No way, I am not leaving you alone. What if something happens to you and I can't stop it?"
Another shot rang out as he aimed for another and spoke. "I'm not as useless as you think. I think you forget that I'm a vampire hunter as well. I'll be okay. This is the only way we can win and you know it! Think about your training, think about what you would do if I wasn't here."
As much as she hated to admitted, he was right. If this was just another hunting mission then she would be left him behind no problem. But now, she was letting her emotions get in the way of her training.
Cursing to herself her hand shook on her bow before looking at Zero in devastation and turned away. Her voice cracked with emotion as she pried her eyes away from his "Please, survive Zero."
Then without looking back, she raced forward without him. Only hearing the loud echoing of gunshots in the back of her head she focused on the mission ahead and made herself believe that he would survive
Standing in front of a door that she had entered a thousand times before, she froze. This was it, it was time to end everything once and for all.
Lifting her hand out, she pushed open the cold wood as her boots clicked against the floors to the man sitting at his desk.
He seemed to notice her presence but didn't make any move to attack, instead he just sat there, judging her every move. "Rosabella, what am I going to do with you?"
His words sounded like ones of a disapproving parent which didn't make her anger subside any less. Then she remembered the reason of her name and gritted her teeth. Enough was enough. "Stop calling me that name. I am no longer a dog to you or this estate."
Carson just looked at her response and slowly stood from his desk, to meet eye level with him. He seemed amused by something. "Do you really think you are in the position to give me orders? I could snap my fingers and order my men to kill your precious Zero Kiryu. Do you really want to defy me like with that boy, William? Don't forget, that was your error as well, Rosabella."
There is was. Rose knew that he would pull every tactic he could out of the book to control her,but that didn't make it hurt any less. He knew exactly what to say to twist her nerves.
Not enjoying her silence, Carson frowned and tried a new approach. "Where is that boy anyways? Or did you feed him to the wolves like all the others you have stepped on through the years? I almost feel pity for him."
His words did indeed hurt but Rose stood her ground. Instead, she responded by slowly taking off her bow and arrows, throwing them to the floor in what Carson thought was compliance.
Smiling widely he looked at the weapons and taunted. "I knew you would come to your senses, my pureblood."
Rose just looked down and the floor before looking up and smirking a twisted grin. "No you misunderstand. I've waited so long for this, I don't want to use my weapons. I want to kill you by my own hand."
Carson's eyes widened as Rose leaped forward in attack. He had just enough time to block her swinging hand with his cain.
They jumped back and he grabbed the top of his cane before revealing a long bladed sword with some sort of etching on it. "You really are making a mistake. Maybe this will teach you a lesson!"
The two of both clashed against each other again, Rose bringing her hand up as sharp thorns dig into his legs, pulling him to the ground.
He expected this and cut the vines easily before slashing at her arm with precision.
Rose doged but was still managed to get nicked in her shoulder. Looking down at the damage she started to feel a sharp pain where the cut was.
Hissing she clutched her shoulder which made Carson chuckle at her pain. "Oh I forgot to mention, this sword was made with vampire hunter materials and etched with a spell for protection. I acquired it for Shizuka, just in case she decided to act out but it seems you are now the proper test."
She grunted and thought about this evil man striking Shizuka as her blood began to boil even more.
Crying out, Rose raced forward and Carson noticed her blue and green eyes glow. Suddenly, a large mass of vines appeared from nowhere and wrapped around his arms, legs and neck, forcefully making him kneel in front of her.
He looked up at this monster and noticed a shift in the atmosphere. Rose then walked up to the man and poured out all of her hatred. "You, you disgusting man. You used my friends, my family to make me conform to your sick orders. And in doing so you murdered my boyfriend, turned my best friend and hurt the ones I cared for. Now I have Rido's blood in my veins and every inch of my body is telling me to kill you right now. I will not let anyone else be swayed by your thoughtless manipulation."
She looked the man who had control her life for years and lifted her hand to finish the job. Reaching forward she ripped her hand through his chest and grabbed onto his now beating heart. All she had to do was pull out his heart and it would be all over.
Rose watched him as he choked for breath and started to pull when a sharp, pain inducing feeling washed over her. It wasn't like anything she had ever felt before.
Grunting at the pain, her hand loosened on his heart as her strength dissipated. It felt like a string in her mind had just snapped suddenly and without warning. Whatever it was, it was making her lose focus.
Carson noticed this and smiled, realizing the grip of her vines were loosening. He then pulled his arms and all of the vines snapped under his weight.
Rose could vaguely hear the sounds and tried to refocus herself when Carson quickly grabbed his sword and plunged it into her side.
He watched her eyes widened as a single drop of blood appeared from her lips. He smiled a sick grin and pulled out the sword, only to have her tumble to the ground in pain.
If that shoulder wound didn't hurt enough, then this sure hell did. It felt like the pain level had turned up a thousand degrees and Rose felt her strength weaken even more. What the hell was even on that weapon?
Carson stood above her in authority and sighed and his work. "Oh what a shame, I missed. Oh well, you did have such great potential Rosabella but now, I think it's time we put you down."
She felt his heavy body rest on top of her as Rose struggled to get to her feet. She couldn't die now, Zero was still out there. "You asshole."
He just sighed at her words a put a finger to her lips to silence her. "Now, let's not start with the name calling. You are a pureblood after all."
Hissing at his words she reached her hands up to grab him but due to her wound, Carson was easily able to pin her down onto the floor. "Ah ah ah, come on Rosabella. You know it's useless. I was the one who awakened you, it only makes sense that I would be the one to eliminate you, doesn't it?"
Reaching his hand up his plunded his hand into her chest as she cried out in pain. Feeling the hold on her heart Rose knew this was the end.
Gasping for air Carson smiled at her torture and whispered low. "Goodbye Rosabella."
He started to pull her heart out when a loud shot echoed throughout the room and Rose watched as Carson's eyes glazed over and his body fell off of her in a loud thump.
The hold on her heart released as Rose gasped for breath and looked around the blurry room only to feel a hand on her shoulder.
She pulled away quickly but instantly regretted that decision when her side erupted in pain.
Crying out the owner of the hand began to whisper in her ear with concern. "Rose, Rose it's okay, it's me. I'm here. What's wrong?"
The voice entered through her head as she brought a shaky hand to his face and questioned. "Zero?"
His face became clearer and clearer as he laid his own hand on hers and smiled. "It's me, I'm here."
Rose smiled at his presence and sighed a breath of relief. "You're alive, thank god."
He nodded his head and was about to answer her statement when a low groaning could be heard where Carson lay.
Zero let out his hand and helped Rose to her feet as she noticed a large bullet hole in his back. It seemed that Zero had shot hi, which she was thankful for.
Moving over to him Zero watched cautiously as Rose flipped him over and viewed the damage.
Carson spat out a couple drops of blood and knew he was done for, so instead he tried bargaining. "Do you really want to kill me, after all I've done for you? If you kill me then you'll never know who you are! Why do you think I know so much about you? I know everything."
Rose paused for a moment wondering what his words actually meant. It was strange that she was a pureblood even after being born as a human but was that going to stop her from ending him? Of course not.
Resting her knees, she flopped down on top of him and lifted her hand up. Plunging her hand to his heart once more and looked down at him with a void of emotion. "I don't care where I came from or why I'm here. The only thing I care about is killing you. Maybe some other vampire would have complied with your wishes but you chose wrong. I will NEVER bow to you Carson. And now, it's time for me to say goodbye."
Then in one swift motion Rose squeezed her hand and ripped his heart out of his chest before crushing it into nothing.
All Carson could do was look at her with eyes of disbelief as he cried out. "You fool! You could have been so much more! You could have been-."
Then without warning, he shattered into a million pieces. All that was left was little speaks of sparkles in the air, everything else was gone.
Rose looked at the destruction and lost all feeling in her legs. She fell onto the floor and Zero raced forward in concern. She looked so hollow, so dumbfounded about what had happened. "Rose?! What's wrong?"
As she could do was place her hands in front of her as a cracked sob escaped her throat. Then she whispered the words she had longed to say for years. "He's gone."
Zero watched her shaking hands touch the ground and placed a reassuring hand on her back. "Yeah, It's over now."
She nodded her head and brought her hand to her mouth before crying all the tears she had been holding in till now. It was over, and Zero was safe.
He just watched her break down in front of him until all of her tears had dried. He couldn't even imagine the relief she was experiencing right now. It had to have been a lot.
Once she was done, Zero slowly helped her stand and walked out into the now vacant hallway. Everything seemed to be at a state of peace now which was welcoming to the two.
They moved towards the exit and found a large group of vampires waiting for them.
Ruka, Rima, Senri and Kain let out a sigh of relief when they found her alive, mostly for the sake of Hanabusa. What was left of the remaining Level E's watched her movements as she entered the area and smiled.
Suddenly a sense of fear consumed her as she didn't find Hanabusa in the mix of the crowd. Without thinking she raced forward, ignoring her wound and spoke to his friends with anxiety. "Where's Hanabusa? He was supposed to be here also. Where is he?"
His friends looked between each other before their own anxiety rose. "We thought he would be with you."
Rose's eyes dropped as she turned back to the estate to find her friend when Zero grabbed her quickly, stopping her movements. "Rose, you can't go back in there. You are injured as it is."
She tried to pry his arms off of her thinking the worst possible situations. She would've felt his death through the blood bond if he had indeed parished.
Then she thought about that strong feeling with her battle with Carson and Rose's stomach dropped even more. Oh god, what if that was it?
Aggressively throwing Zero's arms off of her, she run forward back into the house. He couldn't be dead. Please, he can't be dead.
Suddenly a voice stopped her movements as it ring through her ears. "I guess I should be flattered that you would risk your life for me."
Rose turned around at those words and found Hanabusa standing before her, looking pretty worse for the wear. His shirt was all cut up and large gashes could me seen through his shirt.
Feeling her breath stop in her throat she ran towards him and pummeled him into a long, tight embrace. He was alive, thank goodness.
The action almost caused him to lose balance as her scent engulfed him. He then noticed she was shaking in his arms. "Hey, hey it's okay. I'm okay."
Her arms tightened around him as he returned the gesture by wrapping his own arms around hers. She then buried her head in his shoulder and muttered. "You idiot, I thought you were dead."
Hanabusa smiled under his breath and answered back. "Sorry, sorry. But like I said, I'm not gonna die on you anytime soon."
This made her smile back as she playfully slapped him on the arm. "You better not."
Rose then turned to the group that was watching and slowly bowed in respect and what they had done for her. "All of you, thank you. I don't know how I can ever repay you."
Hanabusa's friends smiled at her words when they noticed and Level E's stepped forward in respect. Then watching, they snuck their knees in submission and smiled. "Lady Adelaide, I mean, Rose. Welcome back."
She gasped at their actions and tried to get them to stand when Hanabusa turned to her and dropped to his knees as well. He then grabbed her hand lightly before kissing the back of it in adoration. "Welcome back Rose."
Rose blushed at his words as she watched the rest of the group, even Hanabusa's friends, fall to their knees and bow before her as well. This was a sign of absolute trust.
Looking at the vampires, she didn't really know what to say. Rose never thought of herself as someone to bow to but standing her, she felt a sense of pride along with an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach.
She responded to their actions by kneeling down with them. This was unheard of in the vampire hierarchy but Rose wanted everyone to know that she wasn't more worthy than them, she was equal. "Thank you."
Smiling to the group she then stood up reached her hand out to Zero. "Let's go home."
He gratefully took it and pulled her into a slow kiss, to which he accepted gratefully. Was this real? Was she finally able to have a life with everyone she loved? For the first time in years she believed it might've been true.
The group saw the gates to the academy and breathed a sigh of relief, everything was over.
Zero's hand squeezed Rose's in excitement as they saw a figure greet them in the distance. Wondering who it was, they stepped closer.
On further inspection, the stranger revealed itself to be Yuki. Rose smiled in her direction but when they reached her, she didn't look happy. "Hey Yuki. We're back. Where's Kaname?"
At her words, Yuki's eyes widened before dulling back into an emotionless pit. "He's gone."
Rose blinked a few times and tried to understand her words. "What do you mean gone?"
Suddenly she watched Yuki's eyes well up with tears as she choked out a sob. Rose's anxiety started to grow, stepping forward to Kaname's sister. "Yuki, what do you mean gone? Where is Kaname?!"
Lifting her eyes, Yuki brought her face up to wipe her tears and spoke with a look of pure disgust and hatred towards Rose. "He took your place."
Rose shook her head, not understanding what she was telling her. "What?"
Yuki then raced forward and pounded her fists in Rose's chest. It didn't really hurt but the intent was there. "He took your place! The sacrifice, he took it!"
Suddenly all the pieces clicked together as Rose's heart dropped into her stomach. What? It couldn't be. He didn't even know about her sacrificing herself. This wasn't possible!
With shaky breath, Rose stopped her pounding fists and tried to get some information form the pureblood. "Yuki, where is he?"
She refused to answer which worked Rose up even more. Not thinking, she shook Yuki's small frame in anxiety. "Where is he?!"
Yuki's eyes widened with fear as she cried out. "I don't know! He wouldn't tell me!"
Rose dropped her arms to her sides and could feel an attack around the corner. Her breaths became more shallow as Hanabusa felt all of her fear.
He tried to put a calming hand to her back but she just shook it off. She was becoming more and more unstable by the news. "Ruka, Kain, please watch Yuki. I'm going to find out where he is."
Hanabusa stepped forward carefully and tried to be the voice of reason. "Rose, we don't even know where he is, how can we-?"
But Rose cut him off with an aggressive shout, silencing him. "WE WILL FIND A WAY! I don't care how, we will find a way."
Nobody dare spoke out against her as they watched Rose turn on her heels and towards the direction of the hunters association. "Zero, Hanabusa, follow me. I'm scared of what I could do right now."
The two of them nodded their heads before running after her, before she changed her mind and left them behind.
Rose stomped up to the hunter's association, blinded by a mix of her own fear and rage. There was no way she would have him take her place. She kept the same thoughts in her mind as they tried to keep her sane. He would be okay. He would be okay. He would be okay.
Reaching the gates, she found a hunter blocking her path. Having seen him before she used that to her advantage. "Let me in. I am a Level S classification hunter."
The boy looked down on her with disgust as he reached for his weapon behind him. "I can't do that Rose. You may have been a hunter, but we can't just let vampires walk around the association."
She scoffed at his words and took a dangerous step closer before muttering. "If you don't let me in right now, I will tell everyone that you let those two hunters die during our mission to Toyoko a year ago."
His eyes widened at her words and tried to cover up his worry. "You think anyone's gonna believe a vampire over a hunter?"
Rose just shrugged her shoulders and answered back in a threatening manner. "I don't know, you wanna try it out?"
The man locked eyes with her for a couple minutes to see if he could catch her bluff but he found nothing. She was indeed serious.
With a heavy sigh he pushed a button next to him and the gate slowly rose before them. "Ahh I'm going to get into so much trouble for this. Just, don't kill anyone, okay?"
Without stopping Rose by past the gate, Zero and Hanabusa following shortly behind her carefully.
But before she completely walked through she muttered something past the hunter which made him extra nervous. "No promises."
Once they were in the space, Rose continued on with one goal her mind. Dozens of hunters stopped and watched her pass by as harsh whispering could be heard. It seemed she wasn't welcomed in the association anymore.
Finding what she was looking for, Rose used her foot at kicked the door that was now in front of her open.
The president stood up at her presence and spoke out in outrange. "Rose, what are you doing here? you can't just-"
Of course, the president didn't have long to speak as Rose stomped up to her before punching her in the side of the face.
She fell to the floor in pain and other hunters moved to grab her when the president stopped them.
Rose appeared above her as she spoke with absolutely authority. "Where is he?"
Shaking her head once, the president put her hands up in question. "I have no idea what you are talking about."
Clicking her teeth in frustration, Rose reached down and forcefully grabbed the presidents shirt, lifting her from the ground. "Kaname Kuran, where is he?! I know you know so stop playing dumb with me."
The president must have noticed her temper as she just pointed over to the hunters ready to strike at any moment. "Are you sure you want to do this Rose? Things like this could get your hunters license revoked."
Though Rose didn't find her reasoning funny as she just tightened her grip. "You think I give a crap about my hunters license? Why in the hell would you let him take my place?! You slimy, disrespectful idot! I could kill you.."
At those last words the president's eyes widened and tried to play it off. "As if you would do that."
But Rose fired back right way with a hiss. "I've already killed two pureblood vampires and all 200 of Carson Ackerman's followers, try me."
It seemed that she was serious so instead the president back pedaled a bit. "What do you want?"
Tightening her grip once more she darkened her gaze and spoke. "I want you tell me where he is or I will turn this hunters association upside down and find out myself. And you know you don't want me to do that since I honestly don't know what I'm capable of right now. So, which one is it going to be?"
One long look in the pureblood eyes confirmed which choice she was going to make. "Fine, give me a piece of paper."
Rose agreed and gave her the paper. She watched as the president scribbled down an addressed before handing it back to her. "There, now leave. Between you and me, I would have much rather prefered if you were the sacrifice. At least Kaname doesn't blindly punch people in the face."
Not even thinking about her words, she released the president before turning to the door. "Let's go."
Looking at the address on the paper, Rose prayed with all her might that he would be okay. She had already lost so much. She didn't know if she could stand to lose him as well.
