Chapter 10: Garden of Demise
Kakashi stood off to the side as the construction continued, his nose in his favorite porno book, personally wishing Naruto would have just gone to prison. The truth was he hated that brat, and saw almost nothing of his sensei in him. Kakashi had hoped that sending Naruto to blood prison would have mellowed him out a great deal.
"Kakashi," Speaking of mellowing out.
"Hello Gai, what is it now?" Kakashi said bored, hoping it wasn't another challenge.
"Have you seen the young Hinata Hyugga, she's gone missing." The eccentric man said.
Now this caught Kakashi's attention. "No I haven't, and from what I've been hearing the past few days, that's a good thing." Her new personality was causing several experienced shinobi to be afraid of her.
"True, but we think she's trying to get Naruto back, apparently Tsunade knew a way to bring him home but the toads said no." Gai explained.
"Lovely, well let's go find her then." Kakashi said, putting his book away. However, this little plan of Hinata's just might help.
Speaking of Naruto, he was presently being given a driving lesson from Ricky in his old pickup truck. Being that Naruto wasn't one for patience, Ricky thought it be a good idea to teach Naruto how to drive stick. Surprisingly, Naruto was doing quite well. "You can't drive a motorcycle, but a car you can?" He asked from the passenger seat of the pickup. Only for Naruto to slam the breaks, causing Ricky to be pushed forward.
"That was a joke." Ricky insisted, turning.
"And that's a road hazard." Naruto said, pointing ahead. To their collective shock, the road had been ripped apart, revealing large thorn covered vines. Several seemed to branch out and attach themselves to the power lines.
"Among other things." Ricky admitted, as the two got out of the car. Naruto pulled out his phone, and took a picture.
"Alright everyone, head on back, the road's closed until we can clean this mess up." A road worker said, getting everyone's attention. As the vehicles lefts, nobody noticed a large root move beneath the vines.
"Colossal vines ripping up the street?" Ariel asked confused. Naruto and Ricky immediately headed back down to the garage to give everyone the heads up on what had happened. According to Karla, it wasn't just one street, several major highways were covered in vines. Effectively, the roots were now growing around the city, cutting off all roadways.
"That's putting it mildly, what do you think we should do?" Ricky asked confused.
"Personally, I don't know, Alpha and I haven't detected any new fragments." Ariel explained, getting a satellite scan of the multiple vines covering several streets now.
"And believe me, we'd know if this thing was targeting the garage." Alpha explained, then looked shocked at the results. "Ay-Yi-Yi, I'm picking multiple human DNA signatures off these things."
"I'm sorry, human?" Sam asked as the others ran over.
"Yeah, put it's too many to tell who, I'm also picking up trace amounts of, snake DNA too." Alpha said, adding that last part slightly confused.
"Alright rangers, get me a sample of this thing, and then we'll plan our move from there." Ariel said, tossing a vial at Karla.
"Get going rangers, something about this thing doesn't sit well with me." Alpha said, as the five ran out.
"So why would Damocron send giant weeds to rip the city apart, or did I just answer my own question?" Sam asked with his hands behind his head. The five had found themselves at a more isolated section of the roots, stopping not too far away from a basketball court.
"You got me." Naruto said rubbing his temples. Strangely he was picking up a bad headache.
"Dude, what's with the eyeshadow?" Allen asked, odd at the color orange.
"What eyeshadow?" Naruto asked, revealing his gold colored eyes.
"Is this a ninja thing we should know about?" Karla asked, pulling her compact out of her purse and showing the mirror to Naruto. This in turn caused Naruto to freak out.
"How am I in Sage Mode?" Naruto asked confused. Just as he did, Naruto hobbled over in pain. What the other rangers rushed over to help, only there wasn't anything they could do. Naruto was absorbing senjutsu chakra at an unnatural pace, more than he could keep up with.
"Holy, INCOMING!" Sam shouted, seeing something move quickly through the brush. The creature lunged out, and targeted Naruto, swinging its arm. The creature was an amalgamation of multiple spiked weeds meshed together like a humanoid body. The creature had two right arms, one located where an ordinary arm should be, and a smaller, slightly deformed arm sticking out near its lowest rip. Its left arm had a long thorn attached to it, like a blade. The creature's head looked like a deformed sprout with six eyes total, with three eyes on each side.
"Well, new monster, what's your name sunshine, Thorn, Big Root?" Rebecca asked confused. The monster in question didn't respond, instead it let out a feral roar and charged again.
"Friendly fellow ain't ya?" Rebecca said, dodging the monster.
"Go on without me, I think I've got something." Naruto grunted in pain.
"I'm staying by your side, no questions asked." Karla stated firmly.
"No worries we got this." Allen said, dodging the monster's swing. Sam grabbed a nearby piece of plywood and slammed it into the monster's back. The creature rolled with the blow, then quickly recovered.
"Wait, why aren't we wearing our surprisingly durable spandex outfits?" Allen asked, as the monster swung again.
"Just so you'll ask, now morph!" Naruto ordered, seeing people in agony.
"You got it, NITRO F-" That was all Sam, Allen, and Rebecca got to as the monster swung its smaller arm, as it became a large whip. The attack slammed it into the three, knocking them back a bit.
"Tell me you got a little of your mojo back, I think we need it." Karla said, seeing the monster come closer.
"Just enough for a quick Rasengan!" Naruto said, he put his hand out as a small spinning ball of chakra energy appeared in his right palm. The attack slammed into the beast, however it just barely had enough power to push it back several feet.
"Ok, that hurt." Naruto admitted, gripping his wrist. No sooner than he did, several Oni-knights appeared in a flash of light and grabbed the plant monster. No sooner than they did, the Oniknights vanished with the monster.
"Well, that just happened." Rebecca said, stretching the kinks out.
"So Naruto, do you know where that thing came from?" Sam asked concerned for their leader.
"I think, that thing is one of Orochimaru's experiments." Naruto admitted, pausing to take a breather. The seal didn't fully work on his senjutsu, but the whole thing did drain him.
"Orro what?" Karla asked confused.
Back on Damocron's warship, the generals had finally finished chaining up the plant beast.
"I have no idea, where this thing even came from." Toximora said, somewhat disturbed of the thrashing beast.
"I know you didn't some human did, and this isn't the only one," Damocron said through his energy portal. "The beast is one of six mutant created by a human from the red ranger's pocket dimension."
"Damn, a human created something more menacing than I could have." Silvion said impressed. "But how did it escape?"
"I don't know, but I do know it will need an upgrade." Techniclaw said, holding out a silver collar with a series of diodes all over it. The machine attacked the device to the plant beast's neck. Almost instantly, the beast stopped thrashing about.
"The collar gives me control over the beast, hopefully long enough for us to kill the rangers." Techniclaw sneered, as the plant beast took a fighting stance.
Back down on Earth, Naruto explained who Orochimaru was to the others. He was at one point a member of the legendary Sannin of Konoha, one of their best protectors. However he betrayed them for both power, and the obsession with learning every jutsu known to man, a feat he knew couldn't be done in a single lifetime.
"So he steals people's bodies?" Karla asked disturbed, as she sat in the Cyber Garage with the others.
"To put it mildly, yes." Naruto explained. "But that's just the tip of the iceberg, over the years I've seen his experiments like straight out of those horror movies on TV, not only used by him, but people desperate enough to follow him." Naruto then started folding out his fingers, recalling his past experiences. "Curse Seals that mutate people and supercharge their strengths, living fish people, resurrecting the dead, people molding onto others, the list goes on."
"Horror movie is putting it mildly," Rebecca said disturbed.
"Yeah but I think I know where Weed Wrecker came from," Naruto said, remembering what he was told.
"Hold on, Weed Wrecker?" Rebecca asked rudely. "I gave you guys gold and that's what we're going with?"
"Anyways, continue Naruto." Ricky said, more interested in what Naruto was going with.
"That guy Yamato I told you about, is the results of Orochimaru's work." Naruto said disturbed. "He was grafted with the wood style jutsu of the First Hokage, but he was the only one that survived."
"So, Weed Wrecker," Allen said, pausing to see Rebecca scowl. "Is one or more failed corpse, in one freaky plant based body."
"That's what I sensed, and it's putting out a lot of senjutsu, that's why I was forced into it." Naruto explained.
"This is all kinds of weird," Karla admitted, "First you're forced into using some tailed beast chakra, now this, it can't be a coincidence."
"But where could it have come from?" Ricky asked confused.
"I know Orochimaru had bases all over the Elemental Nations, what if he actually left the veil more than once?" Naruto suggested.
"If he was as good as strategist as you say, it would make sense." Ariel admitted, a little confused herself.
"Uh, guys I think Weed Wrecker's back, and he's got some masters." Karla said, looking over some security cams out near Main Street.
"Then let's stop this thing dressed for the occasion." Naruto said, punching his fist into his open palms.
"You up for it, what with the seal acting up?" Sam asked concerned.
"With the whole city cut off, do I have a choice?" Naruto asked rhetorically.
"I knew there was a reason we elected you leader." Rebecca said, happy Naruto was ready to go.
"Now, Let's get Morphin'!" Naruto declared.
"Another reason," Sam said with a smile.
"NITRO FORCE KICK IT UP!" In a flash of light, the five morphed into the Power Rangers.
"Let's roll everyone." Naruto said, reluctantly getting on his repaired Raider alongside his friends and they rode out of the garage.
"Good luck rangers." Ricky called out.
"They might need more than you think," Alpha said, looking over some computers. "I'm picking up some chakra based signals, coming from outside the city."
"Where, from the Elemental Nations?" Ricky asked confused. While he did know Naruto wanted to get home, Naruto was needed here. Plus he hoped it wasn't a bounty hunter or something to send Naruto to prison or worse.
"No, it's coming from the states, but we can't pinpoint its origins." Ariel admitted looking over the scans, then got slightly startled. "And it's gone now."
"Let's tell the rangers when we get back, they're going to need to focus with this one." Alpha said, knowing this wouldn't be easy.
The rangers rolled over, seeing Weed Wrecker firing a barrage of thorns at random buildings with Techniclaw holding a controller.
"And you said Weed Wrecker was a bad name." Karla said with a smirk.
"Shut up a wreck him." Rebecca said, pulling out her accel blade.
"Ah rangers, like my new green thumb." Techniclaw smirked, showing off the weed. "One of six mutants released into this world from the Elemental Nations."
"So it did come from Orochimaru." Naruto realized.
"Now, get them!" Techniclaw ordered, Weed Wrecker obeyed and charged.
"Let's roll," Naruto ordered as the rangers drew their blades too. "Sam, Allen, go for that controller, maybe we can use it to stop this weed."
"On it," The boys said in unison, charging at the machine. Sam swung his blade at Techniclaw, who narrowly dodged the attack.
"Charming rangers, but not good enough." Techniclaw fired a barrage of missiles from his shoulders, aimed right at the boys.
"MOVE!" Allen declared, dodging the attack, as did Sam.
"Let's even the odds in our favor a bit." Sam suggested.
"I'd thought you'd never ask." Allen smirked.
"ARMOR WEAPONS ON!" The duo said in unison.
"Geo Lancer/ Tsunami Striker Ready!" Sam grabbed the sniper rifle while Allen spun his lance around. Sam fired several rounds, giving Allen cover while the green ranger charged. Allen tried to slam his weapon into Techniclaw, who miraculously dodged.
"A little upgrade rangers, I'm a great deal faster now." Techniclaw scoffed.
"So, how are you guys doing?" Allen asked, turning to the others.
"How do you think?" Karla asked rudely. She was presently wrapped up in one Weed Wrecker's vines while Naruto and Rebecca were dodging a barrage of thorns the monster was tossing at them.
"This is madness, we can't get close enough to it to hit it." Rebecca pointed out.
"Question, what kills any plant once a year?" Naruto smirked, getting an idea.
"The winter months, that's brilliant, armor weapon on!" Rebecca declared, summoning her tonfas. Naruto meanwhile pulled out his freeze rifle.
"But first," Naruto fired a few stray blasts at the tentacle that had ensnared Karla, freeing her.
"Go for it guys." Karla ordered.
"You got it." The duo said in unison. Naruto fired a constant stream of ice while Rebecca spun her tonfas right behind him. The results created a mighty blizzard that froze Weed Wrecker solid.
"Now let's help the others." Naruto declared. The other three rushed off to help the boys.
"Took you long enough." Sam said with a smirk. With both of his swords out, Naruto charged at Techniclaw, slashing the machine. Rebecca summoned her claw and shot the grapple forward, holding Techniclaw in place.
"Time to punch your lights out." Sam said, adjusting his knuckle dusters. He quickly slammed them into the machine while Allen delivered a powerful kick into the machine. The results pushed Techniclaw far down the street.
"Try my new missiles rangers!" Techniclaw ordered, firing another barrage.
The rangers however quickly assembled the Grand Prix Saber with the Areo Tonfas attaching to the top of the blade, then extending like a fighter fan. "Grand Prix Saber: Aero Custom Mode!" Naruto swung the fan and created such a gust of wind, it sent the missiles right back at Techniclaw.
When the smoke cleared, Techniclaw was barely standing up with several dents and scraps.
"One more shot and we're down a general." Naruto said, as everyone drew their blasters.
"YOU WISH POWER PUNKS!" Damocron roared, summoning his energy portal and a barrage of lightning bolts at the rangers.
"Damocron, how lovely to see you." Naruto said, his tone filled to the brim with sarcasm.
"The feeling is quiet mutual, but seeing as my subordinate is incompetent, MAKE MY MONSTER GROW!" A bolt of lightning shot out at the frozen remains of Weed Wrecker. The ice shattered, revealing the massive monster.
"Guys, Zords please." Naruto said into his morpher.
"No problem rangers," Alpha said, summoning the zords.
The five vehicles were summoned to the area, and the rangers jumped in.
"Now let's go straight for the Megazord!" Naruto declared.
"Right!" The other four rangers agreed.

The cannons on Naruto's firetruck shifted down and around as it folded in half at the middle, giving it the appearance of a torso. The cherry picker shifted to where the left shoulder should be. The front of the girls' zords flipped around, revealing connector ports. The yellow zord attached to the right side while the white attached to the left. The fronts became shoulders as they folded down. The rear ends shifted back revealing black hands. The bulldozer zord split down the middle vertically as the back shifted up, taking on the appearance of lower legs. These two portions went on the ends of the tank zords treads, as the claws shifted around, becoming shin guards. This configuration stood up, becoming the lower legs. The tank cannons folded up, and slipped into the ice cannons of the fire truck zord, becoming a full body. A head shifted out of the firetruck. It had a silver grill facemask with yellow colored eyes. It had a red sports car like helmet with two wheels on either side of its head. On the front of the helmet was a signal light going from left to right red, yellow, green.
"RACEWAY MEGAZORD!" The five rangers said in unison, while the mech took a fighting stance.

The megazord charged at Weed Wrecker, sword drawn. However the feral floral raised its arms, ripping the street apart as several giant vines shot out at the megazord, holding it several feet in the air.
"We need an industrial sized weed wacker for this." Karla pointed out.
"Or a really durable saw blade." Naruto pointed out.
"Way ahead of you, Aero Armor Zord, Ignition!" The copter flew in on Rebecca's order. Getting in close the propeller blades slashed the binding on the megazord, freeing it. As it fell:
"Armor Link UP!" The five declared. The zord split into the components needed for its armor mode. The megazord linked up and landed safely on the ground.
"Raceway Megazord, Aero Armor Mode!" Rebecca declared over the others. The megazord swung one of the rotor blades as it spun like a buzz saw, cutting into the weed.
"RAWR!" The monster roared in pain, then charged, intent on destroying the machine in front of itself.
"Shall we?" Sam asked with a smirk.
"Oh yeah, CYCLONE RIPPER, Full Power!" The rotor blades clashed with one another as they spun at incredible speeds. Combined with the winds it created, the rotor blades slashed into Weed Wrecker, ending both the plant, and the vines that trapped the city.
"We just uprooted that weed." Everyone looked confused at Allen. "What, the thing didn't talk, I figured someone had to do an overly cheesy and theme appropriate pun."
"Either way, that's how we do it-"Naruto began, as everyone met in the center with a high five.
"POWER RANGER STYLE!"
Back on Damocron's warship, you would be expecting punishment in one way or another. But today, you would be wrong. "You got the information?" Damocron asked amused.
"Yes master, the DNA is the same as the other mutations, I've managed to track one somewhere on the same continent." Techniclaw said, as he was being repaired.
"So this whole thing was a scam you two cooked up to find more of these mutants?" Toximora asked amused.
"And the rangers weren't the wiser," Silvion said with a hearty laugh.
"Meanwhile, I've found the sixth fragment." Alucardic said, showing them the next location.
Back down on Earth, the rangers were given the news about the chakra signature.
"Could it be another of these mutant things?" Karla suggested.
"No idea, but something tells me it's far from the only one." Naruto said, getting everyone's agreement.
"The fact remains, things just got a lot tougher." Ricky said, slightly disturbed.
Meanwhile Hinata was running through the fields of Grass County, map in hand. For you see Tsunade knew of a hermit that had mastered a teleportation jutsu which would be able to bring Naruto back to her. What she was unaware of was several Anbu Root were observing her, intent on making her mission a success.
Next Time on Power Rangers Nitro Force: Queen's Gambit: A new monster, Madame Checkmate shows up to claim the next fragment. Now, Karla has to beat this monster at her own game.
