But I hope you are ready for some serious #FizzAndEmmyGushies and a ton of #OlitzHope in this chapter. But will warn you that opening section will maybe bring you to tears.

So leave me #Crumbs on your way out and enjoy.

Chapter 16: "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Something Special…

Olivia wrapped her arms around Fitz's neck, as she pressed her lips tenderly to his. With each open mouth tender kiss she sweetly utters;

"Relax you've got this…," lingering her lips only millimeters away. As her warm breath flows over his lips, Fitz felt his body reacting. She relaxes him in all the ways that matter but pulse quickens, heart rate increases, and his legs feel weak. The butterflies in his stomach were there before her arrival. But now they were "flying" around because of the beautiful woman in his arms.

"You're going to be great…," planting a closed mouth kiss to lips. Fitz moans against her mouth, as her arms and hands run across his shoulder blades stopping at the base of his neck. Her fingers instinctually go for his curls. She missed running her fingers through his hair. She pulls back and rests her face against his.

"Livy," Fitz murmurs totally succumbing to her touch. He is putty in her hands. Her skin has goose-bumps feeling Fitz's hot breath close to her. "I've missed you so much," Fitz admits freely. "God I've needed you." She could hear the strain in his voice. Fitz begins running his hands down her back and just over her bum.

He rests his large hands over her plump bottom. Feeling they are not close enough, he quickly jerks her closer. "Fitz," sighing his name in delight, but filled with longing. She can "feel" how much he's missed her against her hips. She never thought she could miss him so much, but she had. "I know," whispering into his ear.

She's up off the ground. Fitz is holding onto her as if his life depends on her warmth for his very survival. Fitz inhales deeply, allowing a sweet flowery scent to fill his lungs completely. She feels him bury his nose in her hair, knowing it's her conditioner he smells. She hears "Mmm," and "Ah," as he inhales deeply.

"Lavender," nuzzling her face closer to his skin. He pulls back to gaze into her brown eyes. A huge but quizzical smile now grazes his face. "It's from my conditioner," looking up at her hair. Fitz breathes in deeply again, allowing more of the lavender smell fill his lungs. He leans his head over to the side, and gets lost further into her eyes.

Fitz's arms snake around her body, allowing his hands to ghost every part of her curves in the dress she is wearing. His eyes raise, as his fingers graze the zipper on the side of her dress. He aches to place his hands on her warm skin but refrains from it. After so long of not having her in his arms, he is scared it may not stop there.

He runs his fingers lightly up and down the zippers path, causing Olivia to grin mischievously. She knows what he desires, because she wants it also. "Don't even think about it Mister," scolding him playfully. "Later….," winking.

"You promise," pouting his bottom lip to her for effect.

"There's hope," gleefully answering with a hint of seduction in her voice.

"I'll give you some 'hope' Livy you'll never forget," replying with a deep guttural voice.

"I live to serve the President," wiggling her eye brows.

Fitz rolls his eyes back in his head, causing Olivia to chuckle. Now his hands are behind her, gracing her bottom. He's only using his fingertips so the touch is light, but fueled with desire. She shivers in his embrace, as her body begins to respond. He pulls her harder into his body, allowing himself to give into some of his need to be closer.

Olivia is moaning feeling his hands all over her body.

She smiles against his skin and begins to plant kisses on his neck. Her eyes are closed, as she feels him walking them in the room somewhere. His hands press her into his body, wanting them to be a close as possible for this moment. His body was behaving on its own, already craving more of her love.

Slowly she feels Fitz lowering her to the ground, and being placed on a hard surface. She opens her eyes and notices she is sitting on a desk in the room. She steadies herself and Fitz backs up slowly to give her time to decide what she wants. She lifts one hand up and uses her index finger, beckoning him to come closer.

As he approaches, she opens her legs. Fitz looks her legs up and down. He licks his lips as his hands grace her soft skin. He is not a leg man, well that was until Olivia came into this life. They are soft, like fresh silk; a feeling he can't wait to feel around his body. To have her legs wrapped around his torso when they finally consummate their relationship is worth the wait.

Finally he's up against the desk, and she feels his hands go up her dress. Quickly she stops him in his tracks. "Don't do it," in a challenging tone.

Fitz grins wickedly. She can see the lust in his eyes and dark pupils. "Do what," trying to run his hands up higher. Her grip on them tightens.

"Start something you KNOW we can't finish Mr. President," dropping her voice lower, and now wrapping her legs around his waist. Fitz moans feeling her panties pressed against his hardness. He twitches knowing she wants him as much as he wants her.

"Who says we can't finish," leaning down in an attempt to kiss her neck. She moves out of his way. If his lips touch her skin, she'll release her hands, and be done for. Fitz raises his eyes, enjoying this game of cat and mouse they are playing. But he wants to be the winner.

"Fitz," staring hard into his eyes. "Shortly you have to give the State of the Union address. The Secret Service, your children and Cyrus are waiting for you; as is the Nation. You can NOT go out there looking like…," halting her words because she's embarrassed.

"Because I just got some 'hot sugars' in the back," quipping.

"Oh my Gosh," blushing and finally breaking out into a fit of giggles. Fitz laughs along with her, and wraps her hands around his neck. He assures her that he will behave and removes his hands from her dress. They are now situated on her tailbone. "You are shameless."

"I know," smiling. "But you love me?"

She tilts her head to the side, and presses her forehead to his. "I do," is all she replies. She says no more and he instantly understands. He feels his eyes tearing up, wanting nothing more than to marry, have more children, and give her the life she's only dreamt about. He can and will give her everything her heart desires, no matter the cost. She is worth everything to him and so much more.

"I love you," answering with his voice breaking apart.

"Me too. Emmalynn and I both do," leans into his body and hugs him. "Very much."

Hearing Emmalynn's name Fitz realizes he has not seen her yet. He pulls back and asks, "Where's Emmy?"

"She's with Stephen and Abby at my apartment. I know she wanted to be here but it's too late for her," Olivia explains. "But since she's not going to preschool tomorrow with a late morning, she's going to watch." Fitz stuck out his bottom lip making Olivia sigh. "Emmy told me to tell you that she misses you, and to NOT break a leg," causing Fitz to chuckled.

"I miss her too," he admitts freely.

"And," raising her voice, "don't be too long winded."

"Hey," tickling her sides and feeling offended. She giggles in his arms.

"Just take your time and show them who you are," holding his face. "If you do that they'll love you Fitz."

"Yah?" She could hear the uncertainty in his voice and it broke her heart.

"Yes," replying in a tone without reservations. "This is the NEW you Fitz," running her hands down his lapels with a smile. Her eyes raise and knows that NOW is the right time. He sees a spark in her brown orbs and begins to wonder what she's up too.

"Liv," allowing her to move out of his grasp. She walks to her purse and comes back. Their positions have changed. He is now sitting on the desk with her in between his legs. Without a second thought, his hands go for her hip bone and rest their comfortably.

Fitz is about to ask what's going on but she places her fingers over his lips to quite him. He kisses fingers, making Olivia shake her head from side to side. "I have something for you. I need you to allow me to get through my speech before you say anything okay."

Fitz nods unsure of what it could be. "Liv are you all right," seeing her begin to get emotional. She nods quickly but he knows her. "You KNOW you can tell me anything right?"

"I do," lets out a breath and opens her hand.

Fitz's eyes widen in amazement seeing what she is about to give him. "Li…" but she halts him immediately.

"Before Christopher passed away, this was given to him," looking down at the object in her hand. "His grandfather, on his mother's side bought it at auction. It's very rare. It was given to Christopher when he became a Commissioned Officer in the Marines," now he sees tears on her face. Using one finger he wipes them away. "It's very special."

"Livy," mouthing her name only. She looks up, stares into his eyes and nods. He mouths "I. Love. You," hoping to calm her down.

She lets out a breath, and feels Fitz pull her closer. He's being her rock, strength. Knowing how difficult it must be for her to do this right now.

"It was Eisenhower's and it has forty-eight stars on it," finally raising the flag pin and placing on his left lapel, closest to his heart. She runs her fingers over it and allows the tears to come down her face more. Fitz wipes them away instantly, kissing them with his lips.

"You don't have to," Fitz tells her in a voice overcome with his love for her. This pin is a special gift and he feels unworthy of it. "I can't accept this."

She swallows, whimpers and nods quickly, doing her best not to full breakdown in his arms. "Shh…," quieting Fitz. "Yes you can and I do. Soon after Christopher proposed, he gave this flag pin to me. Like me, it's very rare, and priceless. As long as I wore it, keeping it safe for him, no matter what happened, he'd live on through me and our daughter."

She breathes out again and keeps her eyes on Fitz. "During his last mission he wrote Emmy and I a letter. In that letter, he asked me to one day give this pin to someone deserving of it. He never felt he was, which was why I got it. He said that if he did not return, that this pin should be worn by a man that loves Emmy and I without reservations."

"Livy," murmuring and cradling her face. This was breaking him. This woman in his arms was his, and she's giving him an extraordinary gift. He was holding on only by a thread for her. If he lost it, so would she.

"You are that person Fitz. You have shown me and my daughter love, compassion, and devotion like no other in our life," kissing him quickly. "So if you could wear this for me, I'd know that even when I can't be with you, I'm here," placing her hand over his heart. Fitz instantly covers it with his own, squeezing it tightly.

He nods. "When I see that you have this on, I'll know you're thinking of me. And even if you hate me one day, I'll know we'll be okay."

"Livy," wrapping himself completely around her now. Her head is on his shoulders and she is crying. "I could never hate you Sweetheart," whimpering against her ear. "Never." He finally wraps his arms around her and begins to rock her side to side.

"Promise," meekly asking.

"Promise," Fitz answers in a way that leaves no doubts. "You're my something special," leaning in to kiss her.

She stops him. "No. You're mine," finishing and allowing herself to grieve. Fitz runs his hands up and down her back, and continues to sway them in a motion to sooth her. It does very little, but she slowly begins to calm down feeling Fitz's body against her. She can feel his heart beat inside his suit. Its steady rhythm begins to calm her down.

They are in this embrace when Cyrus lightly knocks on the door and enters the room. Fitz looks up and stops in his tracks. Cy asks if she is okay and he nods once to assure him. Clearing his throat, Cy states "I'm sorry Mr. President but it's time."

"Thank you Cyrus. We'll," stressing that Olivia will be walking with him, "be right there."

Fitz pulls away kissing her face. "Don't. You. Ever. Doubt. How. Much. I. Love. You…Ever," she nods. "Understand." But she gestures again. "Say it Livy."

Now she smiles. "I understand. Always in charge," biting her lip.

"Well I am the President," winking. Now her tears are gone and she's smiling.

"There you are," he moves her back in order to admire how beautiful she is. He gives her the sweetest smile. "Ride back with me to the White House." She walks right back into his personal space and tries to answer him but Fitz stops her. "I know you think it may not be a good idea but I just want to spend time with my girlfriend after I'm done."

She exhales. "I can't. Abby and Stephen have early morning tomorrow so I have to get back to Emmalynn," seeing a frown on his face now.

"When will I see…,"

"This weekend - Saturday. My parents are coming and would like you to come over for dinner. I already spoke to the Secret Service and Cyrus. He arranged your schedule to make it happen," raising her eyes and smiling triumphantly. Fitz swallows quickly. Thinking he's nervous, "Unless you rather…,"

"I'll be there with Jerry and Karen," holding her face in his hands. He looks to Cyrus and he mouths that his route, transportation to Liv's is being arranged. "I won't be late. Now," he steps back from her and begins to walk away. He sticks his hand out for her to take, and she gladly does so.

Once their fingers lock, he brings her hand to his lips and kisses it before heading for the door. It is then she realizes that she's taking the walk with him to give the address. "Fitz," stopping just outside the room they were in.

"Walk with me Livy," softly pleading. He could see her beginning to pull back from him. He lifts her chin in front of the agents and Cyrus. "I need you BY MY SIDE," uttering in a manner that allows her to see that he is NOT asking as the President, but as the man who LOVES and NEEDS her above all else.

"But what if…," she began to explain but Cyrus interrupts.

"Liv the only ones here are the agents, myself, and his CLOSE personal staff. They already know who you are to the President and will not say anything. When we get to the cameras, just drop his hand, and an agent will bring you to Karen and Jerry. Consider everything handled," now Cyrus is squeezing her hand for reassurance. "I've got you Liv."

Olivia looked up to meet Fitz's gaze and he pulled her to him for a side hug. "No one will see US unless you want them too."

Allowing herself to breathe she utters, "Okay." Fitz smiles like he just won the lottery, as she links her arm through his. Fitz places his hand over hers, and winks. Instantly he transforms from just HER Fitz to the President of the United States. He walks with confidence, poise, and purpose. She looks at him as they make it down the corridor, and leans into his arm.

As they are about to turn the final corner so the Press can see them, the agents stop. He turns to face her. "Tom and Mitch are going to escort you the rest of the way," holding both her hands. "And I will be watching you up in MY box," stressing the important word.

"As you wish Mr. President," aching to kiss him but refrains. She wipes any remaining lipstick off his mouth, and could see Cyrus in her peripheral vision, looking at his watch. "Time for you to do your thing."

"Livy," picking up her hands and kissing them both gently.

"Remember this is a State of the Union Address. Take moments to breathe and allow the crowd to absorb and clap when YOU feel it's needed," running her hands over his shoulders, down his arms. "You are the Leader of the Free World. Take ALL the time you need."

"And if I forget what I'm supposed to say," getting an eye roll from Cyrus.

"You have the teleprompter Silly," earning a 'no shit' glance from Fitz. "Look up at me as if I've never left your side," making Fitz grin. "Now show THE WORLD who you are. Got it!"

"Got it," Fitz answers in a boisterous tone. "God I love you," he runs his fingers across her cheek.

"I know. Go," moving backwards away from him. Fitz watches her until she turns the corner. He then makes his way to the entrance to the chamber, waiting patiently to give his State of the Union address. His phone vibrates in his pocket. He reaches out and it says, "Go get 'em Tiger," making him smile. "See you this weekend for dinner."

He then hears, "Mr. Vice President. Mr. Speaker. Members of Congress. Distinguished guests; The President of the United States;"

Meeting the Parents…. (Following Saturday)

"Momma," calls Emmalynn after she's eaten her breakfast. "Can I see Fitz?" Her grandparents arrived the day before and she has been getting loads of attention since. Emmalynn doesn't get to see them often, and the little girl is taking full advantage of the situation.

Both Olivia's mother and father are sitting with Emmalynn in the Living Room and have grown tired of "Sofia - The First," "Doc McStuffins," and "Ella the Elephant." They would hope she'd like to watch something else, but hearing a request to "See Fitz," surprises them. They have no idea what she means.

"See Fitz Emmy," Olivia's father Louis questions.

"Yes Pappa," Emmalynn coos, leaning into him. "Fitz on TV," now looking up at Olivia. "Big Speech he gave. Right Momma?"

Olivia shakes her head and looks at her daughter, and then her parents who did not understand their grandchild request. "She wants to watch Fitz give the State of the Union address," Emmy nods her head vividly. Her parent's eyes widen.

"Emmy," Olivia's mother, Alice sits next to her. "Why don't we watch something else? That's boring."

"No Nana. Fitz was good. Momma helped him. I like how he sounds. I miss him," pouting and looking up at her mother. "Please Momma?"

"You're seeing him later Pumpkin," Olivia knelt down in front of her daughter.

"I know," replying nonchalantly. "No Sophia till –morrow."

Olivia giggled and her daughter's negotiating skills. "She is SO your child," her father groans out in protest. But Olivia's father is fine with it, and so is her mother reluctantly. She can't understand why I child of merely three and a half would want to watch such a thing. Emmalynn is much like her mother.

"Only a little while Emmy," Olivia insists. "Not the whole speech."

"Fitz talked too much," Emmalynn giggled. "Put Pappa and Nana to sleep." Now everyone laughed.

"Yes Pumpkin something like that," and Olivia went over to the TV turning Fitz on for her. Emmalynn settled in next to her grandparents and watched her "Fizz" intently. Olivia's heart warmed at the sight and she ached to call Fitz to tell him of her daughter's request. She gazed down at her phone as she walked away and sent him a quick text.

Instantly he called her and she smiled. "I thought you were ruling the world."

"No Hi. Hello. How are you," shamelessly teasing her back.

Olivia silently giggled and she could tell Fitz was smiling on the other line. "Hi. Hello. How are You?"

"Better now," dropping his voice. "Are you okay?"

"Yes Dear," sarcastically replying. Fitz raised his eyes, hearing the 'Dear.' She then walked into the living room and Fitz could hear his voice. "Do you hear yourself?"

"I do," grinning, and placing his feet up on the coffee table in the residence. "Are YOU watching your HOT man on TV again?"

"No," causing a reaction from Fitz on the other end. She heard an intake of breath on the other end, knowing she was getting the best of him. "My daughter is watching the President of the United States give his State of the Union Address."

Fitz got up and went to look out the window. "Oh really?"

"Yes," dipping her voice lower. She walks back to the kitchen.

"Should I be jealous," Fitz states with a playful sound in his voice.

"Maybe. He's does look awfully sexy in that suit and tie he's wearing. You're lucky I'm taken Mister or when I am around the President, I may jump him," biting her lip.

"Is that so," Fitz asks with seduction in his voice. "Well I'll have to see if I can make that happen for you. I happen to know The President quite well. But let me tell you Livy. I am a man WHO SHARES with NO ONE. You are mine," he tells in a voice making her legs weak. "And I can't wait to see BOTH my girls later. I miss you."

"I know. WE miss you too," stating with no restraint. "Go finish working Mr. President so I don't have to share you with this great nation later."

"Yes Miss First Girlfriend," sighing.

"Love you," Olivia tells him first. She hears Fitz make a sweet sound on the other end. As she is gets ready to hand up the phone, she hears Cyrus enter. Fitz groans but knows he must go.

"I know. Bye."

"Bye," hanging up the phone. She is leaning against the doorway in a haze. This man makes her so happy that is scares her. When she first lost Christopher she never imagined or hoped that she'd find love again. Little did she know how a broken down car on the side of the road could change things or her so drastically for her and Emmalynn.

Never in her wildest dreams did she expect it to be The President of the United States, and for them to be Ella's godparents. That one day – moment changed her life and gave her hope of a future with a man that loves her and Emmalynn. She clung the phone to her chest, and Olivia's mother turned and saw her daughter in a haze.

"The President," she mouthed when Olivia opened her eyes and meet her gaze.

"Yes," she nodded and went and finished prepping food in the kitchen. After Emmalynn finished watching Fitz on TV she helped Olivia's mother baked cookies, and desserts for dinner. Fitz had not been over to their house since his first "sleepover." Her grandparents knew he spend the night all those months ago, but did not press Olivia for any information.

As Fitz placed the phone down on his end, Cyrus grumbled and groaned hearing the end of their conversation. He was NOT pleased about Fitz spending the night but gave in eventually.

"Sir are you sure you should spend the night with her parents there," Cyrus asked while Fitz was reading a brief in the Residence.

Fitz placed it down the sofa. "Cy I am NOT leaving. The kids and I miss Livy and Emmy."

"I understand Sir, but," pausing. "Her parents are there also."

"I'm aware," Fitz leans back crossing his arms. "She has multiple bedroom apartment Cy. Karen and Jerry are sleeping with Emmy. Well Karen is a least. Jerry I think is on the couch. Emmy says he 'chops wood' to loud and won't let him in her room," making Fitz chuckle, and a half smile from Cyrus.

"And what about you," Cyrus inquired.

"What do you mean about me," Fitz countered. "I'm sleeping with Olivia, Papa Cy – in pajamas," sarcastically finishing, not liking what he is implying.

"Mr. President, I'm just concerned for your well-being."

Fitz got off the couch and stood by the fireplace. He inhaled and exhaled before turning around to face Cyrus who was now standing with his hands in his pockets facing him. "NOTHING is going to happen between Olivia and myself. And when OUR relationship takes that next step it's OUR decision," lowering his voice to a growl.

"I am just looking out for Liv and Emmy Sir. And you. Her father is a traditional man and may not approve of you sharing a bed with his daughter," Cyrus explained further.

"Then I will tackle that issue Cyrus IF it arrives. I am not worried about what her parents think. The ONLY thing that matter's to me what Olivia thinks. Trust me I can handle this. This is not the first time I've been around her family." Fitz then walked up to Cyrus and touched his arm. "I got his handled. I love her and Emmalynn very much. Trust me."

Cyrus let out a breath and relaxed, but only slightly. "Just don't say anything stupid," advising Fitz.

Fitz shook his head and grinned. "Trust me. Everything is going to be fine."

"If you say so Mr. President," Cy finishes just as Karen and Jerry came into the room to see if they could leave yet. Fitz explained to them that he had a little more work to do but would meet them at Liv's in thirty minutes. They didn't want leave without him, but decided to go anyway. Fitz texted Olivia to warn her, and she said it was fine. She could use some extra helping hands in the kitchen.

About twenty minutes later, Karen and Jerry knocked on Olivia's door. Emmalynn heard it before Olivia and instantly went to answer it. Just as she reached for the handle, Olivia's mother asked her, "Emmy did you ask who's at the door?"

Emmalynn covers her hand over her mouth shaking her hand no. "Who's there?"

The quests outside the door answer. "Prince James and Princess Amber to play with Princess Sofia." Olivia's mother, Alice looks strangely at her granddaughter. She does not recognize the voices.

"It's Karen and Jerry Nana," Emmalynn clarifies. Alice opens the door for Emmalynn. When Emmalynn sees it is really them, she flings herself in their arms. The agents chuckle enjoying the sight before them and recognize Olivia's mother. As Emmalynn pulls away from them she finally sees that Fitz is not there.

"Fitz?"

"He's on his way Emmy. He got tide up with Papa Cy at the White House," Jerry scoops her up in his arms and carries her inside.

"Papa Cy a meanie," causing both Grant kids to start laughing. Alice gives her a stern look but does not say anything. "Momma?"

Olivia hears her daughter's calls and comes to see her in Jerry's arms and with Karen. "Liv!"

"Hi," opening her arms for both teenagers to come to her. Jerry keeps Emmalynn in his arms and walks over to Olivia with Karen for a hug. All three hug Olivia at once, making Emmalynn giggle because she is in the middle.

"Squishy," she squeals.

Olivia then notices that Fitz is not there. "Fitz at BIG house," explains Emmalynn. "Papa Cy is a meanie."

"It's White House Emmy," Olivia corrects her.

"Emmalynn Grace," Louis, Olivia's father says her name sternly. "Papa Cy is a busy man and he keeps Karen and Jerry's Dad focused for our country."

Emmalynn reaches for her mother. "Shh Pumpkin," Olivia coos in her ear. "Dad she's only three and Papa Cy has his moments." She looks at her daughter. "It's okay."

"White House," Emmalynn repeats.

Karen then explains to Olivia then their Dad had a few more things to look over before he could be let go for the rest of their day and tomorrow. He was able to finish most of everything but a few last minute things came up that morning that needed his attention. Olivia understood and had Emmalynn go play in her room with Karen and Jerry for a little while.

About 15 minutes the teenagers came out with some blocks to play with Emmalynn in the living room. They sat on the floor with her and built a castle. Jerry asked if she had any toy trains. "She's a girl Jerry," getting a nudge from his sister.

"So. That doesn't mean she can't play with them," Jerry contradicted his sister.

"I have Chuggers," Emmalynn stood up running to her bedroom. Karen and Jerry didn't know what she meant but Alice and Louis did. The little girl came back with a basket of metal trains from the Disney Junior show "Chuggington."

"Ha. Ha Karen. I told you she had trains," Jerry boasted and winking at Emmalynn who proudly stated all the chuggers names and their jobs on the show. Then Emmalynn ran back and got some track and the three "kids" built a railroad around the castle. Olivia's parents talked to Karen and Jerry while they played with their granddaughter.

Both noted how good they were with her and patient. "We love Emmy," Karen stated to Alice and Louis. "Plus it's fun when she makes Jerry where her princess crown."

Jerry rolls his eyes but as soon as Emmalynn hears it she take off to get it. "No running Emmy," Olivia calls out hearing her run down the hallway.

"Sorry Momma," Emmalynn responds making a hasty return to Jerry. Karen breaks out laughing when Emmalynn places it on his head and insists he wears it.

"Emmy it doesn't match my closes. I don't have any other pink on," winking at both her parents. Before he can say anything further, Emmalynn takes off again to her room.

"Jerry," Louis states. "She is going to fix that."

"I can see…," but doesn't finish is response seeing Emmalynn return with PINK things for him to wear. Jerry groans as Emmalynn dazzles him for everyone.

Alice and Louis break out laughing seeing the President's son dressed up in PINK Princess things for their daughter. Olivia comes into the room to see this and snaps a few pictures on her phone to send to Fitz later.

"Those better not go on twitter Liv," Jerry grumbles.

"Nah I'll just keep them for safe keeping just in case," Olivia winks going back to prep work in the kitchen. Her mother gets up goes to check if she needs help. "I'm good Momma."

"They're good with her," watching her daughter at ease in the kitchen.

"Yes Momma both Fitz's children adore her. She's like their baby sister," Olivia keeps cutting the vegetables for Pico de Gallo. She stops momentarily walking to the doorway where her mother is standing watching Louis, Jerry and Emmalynn play. Her husband is now on the floor driving trains through the castle.

Both listen as Jerry and Louis engage in a conversation about school, college, and his possible future. Her father seems generally interested in Jerry and Olivia can tell the feeling is mutual. Then she hears, "You REALLY have a whole train set in your basement Sir." He sounded like a five year old all over again.

"Jerry my boy, I have an ENTIRE city," he pulls out his phone and shows him pictures of it. Jerry's eyes light up and shows Karen. She is even impressed.

"Hey Liv do you think Dad would ever let us go up there and see it," Jerry glances up pleading with her. "You can ask him right."

"I'll see what I can do okay," looking over at her mother. The two women head back into the kitchen and Alice begins to help her until Emmalynn calls for her. "Go Mom I got this." Olivia's mother kisses her cheek and leaves her daughter alone in the kitchen. She hears the activity in the living room and smiles to herself.

She runs to her room to change for dinner. She puts on a jean skirt, button up scream sweater, minimal jewelry and makeup. Olivia smiles at what she sees in the mirror and returns to the kitchen. As she enters the room she sees Karen waiting for her.

"Everything okay Karen," Olivia asks her.

"I guess," stealing a piece of tomato. Olivia walks up to her, leans on the counter eyeing her closely. "You want to talk about it."

Karen looks up. "You won't tell Dad," seeing Olivia's facial expression the young girl then comments, "It's nothing super serious but I don't want him to freak." Olivia agrees but only if Karen promises to speak to her Dad about it within the next couple of days. "Only if you're with me."

"Okay," Olivia agrees. She gets them some sweet tea to drink and sits next to her. Karen gets more fidgety. "Is this about a boy?"

Her cheeks flush and Karen buries her face in her hands. "Name."

"Patrick," causing Karen to blush more. "I think he likes me."

Olivia remembers being thirteen but to her recollection she didn't like boys. "What makes you think so?"

"Well he holds doors for me. Saves a seat for me at lunch, and he has trouble talking when I'm around. And I see him giving me googly eyes when he doesn't think I'm looking," shrugging her shoulders.

"Maybe he's just being nice," Olivia adds. "How old is he?"

"Fifteen. He wants us to work together for a project for science. I of course need him to be cleared by the Secret Service but I don't want Dad to freak out. He says I can't date till I'm thirty," Karen groans.

Olivia chuckles. "My dad said 35," making Karen giggle, but she could see how nervous she was. "Honey trust your gut. If he likes you then see what happens. Maybe he's just being nice and wants to be your friend."

"And if he wants more. I think I like him the same way but I'm not sure Liv. I don't want to hurt him and make him think I'm using him," Karen begins to get upset. "He's really nice."

Olivia then sat next to her pulling her chair over. "Then be honest with him. Let Patrick know that you are JUST friends for now and would like to remain so after this project is done. If he does like you, then be honest and tell him you are not ready for a boyfriend. Your DAD I know won't let you date yet."

"I know."

"Make sure you are upfront. You may hurt his feelings but there is nothing wrong starting out a friends for a while. It's how your Dad and me started," nudging her arm.

Karen nodded. "Daddy REALLY loves you Liv."

"Yes he does."

"No like he'd share the last piece of Pumpkin Pie with you, climb up your window, and jump into a freezing shower to get clean," Karen explained. "LOVE YOU," causing Olivia to laugh.

"Freezing shower huh," questioning.

"Yes Ma'am. He's does that now but I don't get why," Karen explained to Olivia who KNEW why. "Jerry and I just know when he's thinking of you – really missing you." Olivia raises her eyes. "Sometimes Dad gets this smile on face. You can just see his dimples and when he looks at us, his blue eyes sparkle. He never used to do that, until he met you. When he hears your. voice, or his around you Liv, he's so calm."

Olivia was stunned into silence. She gasped Karen's hands and squeezed them. "Karen…," stammering.

"Just don't hurt him like my mom did okay," Jerry spoke next coming into the room. Karen smiled at her brother. "She didn't get him you know; not like you. She was with him so long and never really knew HIM." Karen and Jerry looked into Oliva's eyes. "He didn't love her the way he loves you and if something happened to you and Emmy, we are both afraid we'd lose him too."

Olivia swallows quickly the huge lump that was in her throat. She is completely stunned at Karen and Jerry's statement. She then pats the chair and Jerry sit down. "I am NOT going anywhere unless it's with your father, you both and Emmy. And if I were to disappear he'd find me," winking.

"Yes he would," Jerry replied. He looked to Karen and told her that Emmalynn was asking for her. She kissed Olivia and before walking away made sure she didn't need any help. Olivia scooted her out and faced Jerry. He stood up and asked to hug her which of course she allowed him to do so. He gave her the biggest bear hug.

"I'll always be by YOUR side," now holding Jerry's face. "I know I'm not your two kids Mom," but Jerry stopped her.

"You have been more of a mother to us Liv since Ella's baptism, since our own mother. Since the divorce she only calls Dad when she wants something. The only thing that calms him down is you it seems."

"Point taken," pinching his cheeks.

"You want help," Jerry asked seeing all the food on the counter.

"Oh no Mister out. You'll eat more than you'll prep," scolding and shoving him out of the room. She walks out with Jerry and her parents let her know that they are going to run and grab some ice cream for dessert. "Mom. Dad I have ice cream."

"Yes but the "big" kids," Louis stated, "told us their Dad loves something called "That's my Jam" ice cream from Ben and Jerry's. I guess he can't get it at the White House." Olivia looked at Karen and Jerry who both nodded yes and then placed their hands together begging Olivia to cave.

"Don't take long. Fitz should be here soon," Olivia pointed out before her parent's left the room.

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough…"

Her parents grabbed their things and left Emmalynn to play with Karen and Jerry. She stayed with them a few minutes and went back to work in the kitchen. She didn't have too much more to cut and hoped to finish before Fitz arrived. As she began to walk away, Emmalynn asked, "Momma, Dance?"

Olivia smiled at her daughter. "Emmy honey we can't. You have all these toys on the floor. No room," she tried to explain to her.

"Karen. Jerry help me. Then dance," Emmalynn pleaded with her mother.

"You have to ask them if they'd help you clean up the mess, then dance," looking at Karen and Jerry who grinned behind Emmalynn.

Emmalynn turned around and faced them both. Both Karen and Jerry knelt down and she waltzed up to them with the biggest puppy eyes. "Help me," she said, looking at the toys.

"With what Princess," Karen said flashing his best GRANT smile.

"Clean up," she picked up both their hands and tried to bring them over to the blocks and trains. The mess was not too big but it would get in their way.

"Depends," Jerry teased. "Do I get to dance with you?" That comment gave Emmalynn the biggest grin on his face. Jerry nodded and within five minutes all the blocks and trains were placed in a corner out of the way.

Emmalynn then turned to her mother. "Now Momma. Mountain High Nuff," requesting their song. Karen and Jerry furrowed their brows unsure of what song she could be asking to dance to.

Olivia walked over to her CD player, and searched for the song she was looking for. Her Emmalynn dance to this song to get out "their crazies" when neither one can sit still. Both of them know the words.

She looked at Karen and Jerry, "Do either one of you know the movie "Stepmom" with Julia Roberts." Both the kids said nodded no. "How about 'Remember the Titans?" Still no answer. Then Olivia remembered one movie both of them should know. "Guardians of the Galaxy?"

"That movie is the bomb Liv," Jerry gleefully answered. "Dad, Karen and I watched it at the White House?"

"We both have the soundtrack," Karen happily added. "We listened to it so much that Dad banned us from listening to it for over a month. It got so bad that he almost signed an Executive Order not allowing it onto the premises," she giggled.

"Well then," going into the kitchen and coming back with a plastic spoon for everyone. "Let's get this handled."

Olivia then pressed play and the song began to play. As soon as Jerry heard the first verse, he wanted to sing first;

"Listen baby, ain't no mountain high,
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough baby
If you need me call me no matter where you are,
No matter how far; don't worry baby
Just call my name; I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry,

Karen, Olivia, and Emmalynn began to sing the chorus. They were dancing and singing the song at the top of their lungs, not paying attention to anything that was happening.

Oh baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you baby

Olivia's back is faced to the door. Her and the kids are singing and dancing around the room. Emmalynn is giggling, laughing, spinning in circles.

As Jerry begins to sing the next verse of the song, Olivia is dancing with her eyes closed and turning with Emmalynn in her arms. They are caught up totally in the moment, only listening to Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrill sing the words. She then feels and hears the voice and feels HIS touch all of sudden around them.

"Fitz," she murmurs leaning into his touch. Olivia opens her eyes, and Fitz is there singing to her and Emmalynn the next verse with Jerry.

"Remember the day I set you free
I told you you could always count on me darling
From that day on, I made a vow,
I'll be there when you want me,
Some way, some how

"FIZZ," Emmalynn squeals, reaching to be in his arms. She struggles to remove herself fully from Oliva's arms, and into Fitz's. Once in his arms, he begins to sing the chorus of the song with Olivia and his kids.

"Oh baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe

Oh no darling
No wind, no rain
Or winters cold can stop me baby, na na baby
'Cause you are my goal
If you're ever in trouble;
I'll be there on the double
Just send for me, oh baby, ha

For the next verse of the song, Olivia looks into Fitz's eyes and sings it directly to him. Karen and Jerry look on as she dances for him, and bellows out the song. Fitz has seen many sides of Olivia before but this one is new to him. She's carefree, and her smile is in her eyes. It warms his heart knowing that he is the cause of it.

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand,
I'll be there on the double
Just as fast as I can
Don't you know that there

Ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe"

For the final verse, everyone sings together dancing around room. As the song ends, Fitz has Olivia in his arms with her arms wrapped around his neck. He looks deep into her eyes and voices to her, "Ain't nothing from keeping me from getting to you Livy," and finally placing a chaste kiss on her lips.

"Fitz," she moans as her body totally molds to his. Her hands instantly find their way into his curls, and begin to rake through them. Fitz wraps his arms tightly around her as one of his hands, finds its way behind her neck. He slightly opens his mouth, allowing their kiss to deepen.

They hear heckles from Karen, Jerry and Emmalynn, but Fitz does not allow her to pull away from him. It is not until they hear, "Well at least that answers one question," do they turn and see Alice and Louis Pope, Olivia's parents standing before them.

"Momma! Dad," Olivia squeaks, burying her head into Fitz's chest.

Fitz straightens up but keeps his arms securely wrapped around Olivia. Trying to defuse the situation of being caught in a heavy lip-lock with your girlfriend in FRONT of her parents, Fitz voices in a wobbly tone, "And what would that be Mr. and Mrs. Pope?"

"Well not only are you not half bad of a singer/dancer, but a good kisser," Alice states in a matter of fact tone.

"Momma," Olivia blushes further, and hides her face in Fitz's chest. She looks up at Fitz. "Over a cliff."

"Over a cliff."

Well my darlings that's it. I hoped you enjoyed this LONG awaited chapter of this story. I apologize for making you all wait so long but the writer's block I had for this story was not fun. But it's back and let's hope it stays that way.

I did watch #Scandal tonight and even though we got a little hope, this story IS definitely needed. Something tells me stories like this one and others will be needed after next week. So leave me plenty of LENGTHY crumbs at the end. Remember the more you WRITE the more I give back.

Peace, Luv and Pumpkins
