Well hello loves. Happy #ScandalWinterFinale Day.
#HolyFitz Me's finally updated #FizzAndEmmy. Yes I sure did. (I know sorry about the LONG wait but my move earlier messed things up and I had horrible writer's block. But all well now.)
This was supposed to be posted last week but I had issues that prevented me from doing so. Because of #RealLife getting in the way last week, I was able to add to this chapter (making longer) which I don't think anyone will have a problem with.
I definitely think this is JUST what is called for depending on the winter finale tonight. So enjoy my #Pumpkins and leave me #Crumbs at the end.

Chapter 17: The Lady In Red
Not a Soup Question…
As Alice and Louis Pope slowly shut the door behind them. Their minds kept replaying the scene they had witnessed before interrupting "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Alice recalls leaving the elevator and seeing the Secret Service standing her daughter's door. Of course there were agents present when her parents left, but now there were others – four in fact. The new agents outside her daughter's door only meant one thing – The President had arrived.
Alice and Louis notice Tom instantly from Emmalynn's birthday party. Her parents smile and Tom returns the gesture gladly. He is pleased her parents recognized him. Once out of the elevator and the doors closed, Tom insisted to Alice and Louis adhere quick search. If they had be here when Fitz arrived it would be no issue but because they left he must keep protocol.
A female agent searches Alice quickly, and Tom searches Louis. As the agents did their jobs, they began to hear the music. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" blaring on the radio, allowing everyone outside her daughter's door to hear the music. Alice whispers to Louis, "Emmy and Livy Dance Off." Her father grins at the image of his daughter and granddaughter dancing inside.
As Louis places his hand on the door's handle, his eyes raise now hearing Fitz begin to sing with Olivia, and Emmalynn. He chuckles hearing The President of the United States, his daughter's boyfriend singing at the top of his lungs with HIS two favorite girls. Louis grin grows when his granddaughter screamed finally seeing Fitz.
"FIZZ," could clearly be heard.
Alice shook her head upon hearing Emmalynn's name for "The President." Louis heard her scoff next to him, and took her hand in his. Before he opened the door, he brought her hand to his lips. "We are our daughter's guests Allie. And here to get to know The President."
"I know," she quickly answers. "You need to remember that also Louie. She is our ONLY daughter and HE makes her happy."
Louis turns to face Alice. The singing is still going on inside. "I know she is our ONLY daughter. I ONLY want what is best for her. I supported her decision to be with The President since Emmalynn's birthday party. There was no doubt after that day, he was in love with her. I saw it."
"Louis," she huffs in annoyance. "You think I didn't see how he looked at her that day. I practically walked in on them kissing." Louis playfully rolls his eyes.
"Allie both of us need to be here tonight for our daughter and Emmalynn. They mean the world to that amazing man in there is his children. I know you were not happy at first about her dating him, but…," Louis explains but Alice stops him.
"No I wasn't. It took Abigail talking to me to convince me that he was right for her and Emmy. I just don't want her hurt. Once everyone finds out, especially Christopher's family, there will be hell to pay. Livy calls him "Rumpelstiltskin" for a reason Louis. You know HIS father and what he was like towards our daughter. At least Christopher's mother is making an effort," Alice interjects quickly.
"I know Allie," Louis confirms. He looks behind Alice seeing the agents looking uncomfortable. "Come on let's go in and get to know our daughter's man." Alice rolls her eyes.
As the door opens, she hears the final verse of the song. Her eyes grow huge, as she observes Fitz dip her daughter and kiss her without a care in the world. There is a look of pure love, and happiness on Olivia's face the moment before Fitz's kisses her. Her eyes are sparkling like sun hitting the waves. It is something she has not seen before. Not even when she was with Christopher.
As Alice and Louis get a glimpse of Fitz's face it is a mirror image of their daughter's. They have seen Fitz on camera countless times from the State of the Union to Press Conferences. In all those instances, he did not look at utterly happy as he does in this very moment. The smile reaches beyond his lips and into his eyes. Louis nudges Alice just as their lips make contact.
Louis closes his eyes "mentally" unprepared for the raw passion of the kiss The President of the United States is giving his "Little Girl." Her father knows she cannot get pregnant from just a kiss, but after this he is not so sure. Alice is shrugs it off and finally makes their presence known;
"Well at least that answers one question," Alice states totally breaking their lip lock apart. Olivia is mortified being caught by her parents. But her embarrassment increases hearing her mother state that Fitz is apparently a good kisser. She places her hands over her face, and nestles it into Fitz's chest.
Fitz's arms securely wrap around her body. His large hands begin to create small circular patterns on her back. His touch is light, almost feather-like, soothing her fears rather quickly. She sighs as she gazes up into his cerulean blue eyes. "Over a cliff," she asks slightly unsure of herself.
"Over a cliff," Fitz answers without any fear in his voice. He leans down to her ear. "I love you Livy," then presses his forehead to her own, needing the skin to skin contact.
She smiles as she nuzzles her forehead against his. Emmalynn is asking to see the ice cream hoping they were able to find Fitz's favorite. "Ditto," she teases which earns her a poke from Fitz.
Her parents watch them closely, for a few moments in their own little world. Her father clears his throat, getting their attention. "Mr. President," reaching his hand out for Fitz to shake.
"It's Fitz Mr. Pope," Fitz shakes his hand. Their hands interlock and both can feel the force behind it. Fitz then turns to her mother. "Mrs. Pope it's nice to see you again."
"Likewise Mr. President," Alice Pope addresses him formally despite his request a few seconds earlier.
"Mom. Dad we're not at the White House. You can call him Fitz," rolling her eyes annoyed. She does not mean to be upset but she just wants tonight meal to be perfect and if everyone is uptight, it will be even more difficult.
"Give us time dear," Alice caresses her daughter's cheek.
"Mom," Olivia whines again. "Please here he's just Fitz." She turns to face him. "He's OUR Fitz," confirming in the warmest voice, melting Fitz on the spot. "Right Emmy." Her daughter nods and finally notices what her grandparents brought back from their outing.
"Fitz," Emmalynn coos knocking them out of their bubble. "Look what Nana, Papa got for you," showing him the "That's My Jam," ice cream by Ben and Jerry's.
He scoops up Emmalynn in his arms, as her parents get settled. "My favorite," he grins gazing lovingly into her eyes. He hands the ice cream to Olivia. "But, do you know what is better than that ice cream?"
"Ah huh," Emmalynn answers, looking at Olivia and her parents unsure what could be better than ice cream.
"Getting Emmy-kisses," Fitz chastises and kisses Emmalynn all over her face.
"FIZZ," the little girl squeals as Fitz carries her to the couch, and lays her down. He kisses her all over while she squeals for Olivia to stop him.
"Stop Fitz Momma! It tickles," Emmalynn screeches reaching for Olivia to come and save her. Olivia sees the hint mischief in his eyes, and knows if she goes over there, he'll get her next. He wiggles his eye brows playfully. Olivia laughs but stays out of it.
"Oh no Emmy," she explains. "If I go over to help, Fitz will pounce on me next."
"Trust me Em," Louis father then states, "I definitely don't want to see that."
"Dad," Olivia whines, feeling her cheeks flush and face heat up. She meets Fitz's gaze quickly, and notices that his face is just as flushed as hers. After Emmalyn offers Fitz some kisses, he lets her up. She runs to Jerry who scoops her up in his arms. Karen grins as the little girl reaches for a Princess crown to place on Jerry's head.
"Ah huh," Jerry carries her to Olivia. She takes her daughter briefly before placing her down back on the floor. She runs to play with Karen as Fitz asks Olivia if she would like any help in the kitchen. His eyes are pleading to allow him to assist her, but she shakes her head no. He pouts slightly.
She walks up to him. "Enjoy the kids. If I need ANYTHING, I'll yell for your superpowers."
"You sure," he pleads, just wanting to spend some time with her alone.
"Yes," looking at her parents who are now taking to Karen and Jerry. Fitz doesn't want to feel out of place but he does. He sees the side looks from her mother and father, and not sure if it's good or bad thing. Her father catches her eye, and nods for her to finish dinner. Olivia smiles. "You'll be fine," getting on her tip toes to kiss his cheek.
"Okay," he grimaces still nervous.
Olivia whispers. "My parents don't bite."
"Oh Hell yes we do," Louis boasts, getting a jab from Alice.
"Biting not nice Papa. You get cooties," Emmalynn announces, causing the entire room to relax more. Louis motions for Olivia to make sure dinner is on track. Alice walks to her daughter and squeezes her hand. Her mother gives her a faint smile, signaling that it's okay for her to go.
Olivia whispers "You sure," to Alice hoping nothing goes wrong.
"Yes dear go." Alice scoots her out the room. "Call your father if you need any help. But if it's up high, well you know who you should ask for," looking at Fitz. Olivia grins and Fitz finally relaxes. As she steps into the kitchen, she hears her father grabbing a glass of wine for Fitz. They all begin to talk, and she breathes a sigh of relief.
About fifteen minutes later, dinner is ready. She opens the oven gathering everything before it burns. The wonderful aroma of dinner begins to flood the kitchen. She realizes she needs some hot plates but can't remember where she put them. Her mother did the dishes last, and could only imagine where they could have ended up.
"Where in the world," she mutters to herself looking for them. As she begins to turn to leave the room, her mother walks in and asks if she need any help. "Hot plates Mom," tapping her foot.
"By the microwave child," Alice runs her fingers across Olivia's cheek then kisses her. "You know that is where I ALWAYS KEEP them."
"Mom it's not your kitchen," Olivia groans, with them now in her hand.
"I know. Old habits die hard," Alice takes the hot plates from her and places them on the dining room table. Louis sends the kids to wash up. He goes to help Emmalynn leaving her and Fitz alone in the room. "Karen and Jerry," Alice speaks first as he sips his wine. "You're doing really well raising them on your own."
Fitz is shocked by her words. "Thank you Mrs. Pope. I appreciate that." Alice hears the sincerity in his voice and she smiles kindly back towards him. "But sometimes I think running a country is easier than raising two teenagers in the White House," reaching table placing his wine glass down.
"I remember those days," agreeing with him easily. "Livy was not the easiest teenager. Girls are always the more emotional, high strung, then boys," rolling her eyes.
"Don't remind me," Fitz grumbles. "Karen has a project with a boy in her class and I already don't like it." Alice hears the protectiveness in his voice and chuckles. "Does it get any easier?"
"Depends on your version of easier Mr. President," Alice addresses Fitz formally. Fitz raises his eyes. He is about to protest but Alice stops him. "We'll work up to calling you by your first name. It's going to take a bit that's all." Fitz nods. "Where is their…," but she stops her sentence not wanting to pry, but curious to where Mellie is.
Fitz scoffs. "Let's just say Mellie and I don't see eye to eye on some things since the divorce," he grimaces. "She wants to use the kids politically. I cannot allow that."
Alice exhales seeing the sadness in his eyes. "I'm sorry."
"Thank you," Fitz answers, and grins hearing Emmalynn down the hall with Karen and Jerry laughing. Olivia enters the room, bringing salad out. Fitz and her lock eyes, and all his sadness evaporates. She winks to Fitz, puckers her lips for a kiss, and leaves seeing him smirk.
Her mother watches Fitz change as he looks at her daughter. His once sad eyes are now a sparkling blue, showing hints of light from the chandelier. His dimples on his cheeks have emerged. And Alice swears as her daughter exhales, Fitz does immediately afterwards.
Fitz glances back at Alice, blushing as he openly admires her daughter. "My Livy is quite beautiful, yes?"
Fitz's smile grows wider. "Breathtaking Ma'am," he answers. "I could watch her forever," allowing his voice to trail of. "She just fascinates me in anything she does. Livy can walk into a room, and I'll lose my train of thought and just focus on her. Livy can do the smallest thing, and I would just watch. She captivates me Ma'am."
"I see," Alice responds. "Emmalynn has grown quite attached to you, Karen, and Jerry," noticing how much her grandchild adores his teenagers. "She's been talking about you all since we got here, actually since she met you."
"The feeling is mutual," shifting his body weight. Fitz feels the shift in the conversation. His nerves begin to creep up. In attempt to lighten up the conversation Fitz replies, "Livy's car breaking down on the side of the road was the best thing that could have happened to me."
"You Mr. President," Louis then asks hearing the latter part of the conversation. Karen and Jerry are with Emmalynn in her room until Olivia calls for them. "How so?"
Fitz breathes deeply, closes his eyes, and remembers that moment he met Olivia as clear as day. He remembers what Olivia was wearing, her "talk" on the phone with the mechanic, how beautiful she looked and adorable when she turned to yell him, and realized it was HIM. She was so speechless seeing that it was indeed The President of the United States helping her, she couldn't answer.
Everything about that moment, from changing her tire, to meeting Emmalynn Grace, gave Fitz the biggest reality check of his life. He never believe in love at first sight, fate, or soul mates. Meeting Olivia and Emmalynn had given him all those things. He was drawn to them instantly, not fulling understanding why until later. Olivia and Emmalynn both belong with Fitz, and he hopes to convince her parents.
"If I never met Livy and Emmy like I did, then I would not be the man I am today. I know I would have met them at Ella's christening, but I am happy I was there to 'save' her – so to speak," Fitz explains with no reservations.
"Our daughter hates the concept of being rescued," Louis states matter-of-factly.
Fitz shakes his head knowing her parents did not understand what he meant. "No allow me to clarify. I didn't save her. Livy and Emmy are the ones that saved me," becoming emotional. Fitz catches a tear before it falls out of his eye, and wipes it away. "They're my saving grace."
Alice and Louis are momentarily stunned by Fitz's omission. "You really…," Alice begins ask but it stopped by Olivia coming back into the room. She only peeks her head in, but she is ready to put dinner on the table. Once she's back in the kitchen she finishes her thought. "Love her – both of them?"
"Yes," he answers in a tone of nothing but happiness. "Very much."
Alice nods to Louis and he goes into the kitchen. He brings out the appetizer and calls for the kids. hey come quickly. Karen and Jerry both know what she was preparing in the kitchen and couldn't wait for dinner.
Olivia hears Jerry's boisterous "I am so happy Liv can cook. I am starving."
"Gosh Jer you're always hungry," Karen nudges her brother. But as she looks down, the homemade guacamole, Pica de Galo, and Nacho's look to die for. "But we do love Mexican. Right Dad," looking at Fitz.
"Yes," Fitz comments getting the impression that Olivia's Mexican is far better than the White House. Emmalynn is seated between Karen and Jerry, so they can help her during dinner.
Olivia hears everyone beginning to serve the starter, and realizes she cannot reach her serving tray. "Dammit top shelf again," she grimaces. She jumps on the shelf to reach it.
Just as her head touches the tray, she feels a strong, masculine body pressed against her. Then a large hand covers her on the tray. "Need some help gorgeous," Fitz moans into her ear. One hand wraps around her stomach, pulling her into his body.
"Maybe Mr. President," dropping her voice dangerously low. Fitz lips ghost her neck, as he places the tray on the counter. She leans back, allowing her head to rest on his shoulder. Their eyes lock briefly before he turns her around, and raises her legs placing them around his waist. "Fitz!"
He knows they should not be doing this but her ass looked so sexy on the counter, calling to him like a beacon. Then her calling him "Mr. President" in a voice of pure lust, did him in. He presses his ever growing hardness against her, and she moans. "I want you Livy," wishing he could take her right now.
"Someone could come in," she chastises, doing her best to move away from him. Senses her motives, Fitz picks her up and carries her around the corner so no one can see them. He presses her against the wall in the far corner, grinding himself against her. "Christ," she moans in his ear. "I need you too Fitz."
"Livy," running hot kisses down her neck. He's body is on fire for her touch – her love.
"We can't," losing the battle with herself. It's when she hears her father laugh, that they both stop and look in each other's eyes. She holds his face as he lifts her eye level. His hands are securely holding her bottom. He smiles knowing she loves when he does this to her. "It was YOUR idea for us to wait remember," playfully reminding him that's he's refused to take that step with her.
"I know," Fitz grumbles, finally setting her down. Fitz takes a deep breath and cups her face. "But I don't regret it and I don't want you to either."
"Fitz I won't…," but he interrupts.
"I want it to be special, and trust me Sweetheart after what I have planned for you it will be. I have an EPIC date for us planned for Valentine's Day. It obviously won't be tonight," hearing her parents and his kids in the other room chatting up a storm.
"Um no," agreeing with him. "You have to behave if you are sleeping with me Mister."
"Scouts honor Ma'am," making Olivia laugh. "I won't even try to feel you up in bed," kissing her nose and walking away from her.
She catches up to him and faces him with her hands on her hips. She grabs him but his collared shirt, bringing them eye level. "Fitzgerald if you don't TRY to feel me up, I'll never let you feel anything…EVER."
Fitz laughs. "As you wish," pulling her in for quick kiss, then helping her bring out dinner for everyone. Olivia sits in the middle on the other side, with Fitz on her left. Conversation flows easily through dinner. The kids and Fitz especially are devouring Olivia's Chicken Enchiladas, and Mexican Rice.
"And," Olivia bumps into Fitz during dinner.
"Delicious," giving her a Cheshire-cat grin. He wiggles his eyes brows then leans into her face for a quick kiss.
"No PDA at the table please," Louis scolds them both.
"Louie leave them alone. They're in love," Alice coddles, causing both Olivia and Fitz to blush profusely next to each other. "Young love," Alice states in a high voice.
"Mom," Olivia buries her head in her napkin.
"Nana Momma loves Fitz lots," Emmalynn states sipping on her drink. "Fitz loves Mommy."
Fitz picks up Olivia's left hand taking it in his right. He brings it to his lips and kisses her bare ring finger. "I do," looking deep into her eyes. In this one look she sees a future with him she thought she'd never have again after losing Christopher. Marriage, more children, and a life she's only dreamt about. A life she didn't dare to hope for or find after his death.
But now sitting by her side was a man she loved beyond anything she thought she could feel. Olivia truly loved Christopher with every fiber of her being. But looking at Fitz, he's the love of her life. Christopher was the love that brought her to Fitz. Maybe it was fate, bad luck, or life. But all Olivia knew was that she would not allow anything to come between this man, sitting by her side and the life they could have with each other.
"I do," she answers back with no reservations. Everyone at the table is momentarily quiet at their words. Karen and Jerry chuckle at first, but when they really look at their Dad, they understood those words meant a promise for a future both hoped to have one day. Emmalynn giggle, but Olivia's parents looked on as Fitz wrapped his arm around their daughter and pulled her to his side.
He tenderly places his lips against her brow and kisses her there. Olivia melts to his touch and nestles into Fitz's neck. She opens her eyes seeing her parents staring at them both with an "odd" look on their faces. She hopes they NOW understand that to her Fitz is just a man like any other. But in this case, in her home, HE is the man that loves her and Emmalynn.
Olivia would like her parents to accept them, but does not need their acceptance. "Told you Fitz loves MY Mommy," Emmalynn states sounding just like her mother.
"Yes Emmy we see that," Louis ruffles her hair.
"Pappa. No mess up my curls," Emmalynn scolds Louis.
"Just like her mother," looking at his daughter, who has begun cleaning up dinner.
"No you sit," Fitz instructs. "Your Jerry and I will clean up," motioning for Jerry to get up and help. Jerry nods and in no time the table is cleared and the kitchen is cleaned. Anytime Olivia enters to offer assistance, Jerry scoots her out or Fitz chases her with a towel. He promises her if he does not know where something goes, he'll leave it out for her tomorrow. Reluctantly she leaves, but knows she won't win against him.
Finally after the kitchen is cleaned and dessert is served, Emmalynn is ready for bed. Alice gives her a quick bath, and once in her PJ's Jerry reads her "Goodnight Moon." Not even half way through the book she's out. Karen and Jerry then ready themselves for bed, along with Olivia's parents. They say goodnight to her and Fitz, and head to their guest room, right next to Olivia's.
Fitz and Olivia snuggle on the couch, just holding each other but after a short amount of time, he notices that Olivia can barely keep her eyes open. She grumbles as Fitz stands up, but is silenced as he carries down the hall to her room. He places her on the bed, and goes to change in the bathroom in his pajama pants. Once he emerges, she is nestled in her bed, practically asleep.
He lifts the white duvet, and slips in beside her. At first he does not touch her, but only stares lovingly. Her hair is sprawled up behind her head, and her hands folded on her chest. Slowly he slides an arm under her neck, and then props himself beside her. She smiles feeling him near. His breath tickles her face and finally she smiles half asleep.
"You know Mr. President it is NOT polite to crawl into a lady's bed uninvited," fluttering open her eyes and gazing into his.
"Oh," kissing her nose. "You don't say," whispering to her softly.
Her hand on his bare chest, just over his heart. His covers her hand with his own, and squeezes it. His heart beat slows as he looks in her eyes. "Can I sleep with you Livy? I can't sleep without you." He face transforms into a pout. She stifles back a laugh and presses her hand to his face.
"I suppose," rubbing her nose against his cheek. "Behave Mister," scolding Fitz as she rolls over so he can spoon her from behind.
"Always," he murmurs into her ear. His arm free arm drapes over her chest, between her breasts. Fitz feels them on his bare arm, and pulls her closer. The other arm that is under her neck reaches across her body. They make an "X' across her chest. He cannot see her pajamas but they feel silky and soft. "Livy?"
"Yes Fitz?"
"What are you wearing?"
"You are shameless. Go to sleep before my daughter or worse my parents come in here and pull us apart."
"Yes my Lady in red," seeing the red strap on her shoulder. "I can't wait to see the rest of it."
"Heaven help me," she turns and places a sweet kiss on his lips. "But Lord I love you."
He melts right there with her in his arms. "And I love you Olivia Pope – My Lady in Red," kissing her more deeply. When he pulls back not wanting to start anything, she rolls over to face him. She lifts the blankets so he can see her RED sleep shirt and he grins. It's soft cotton with "Angels" written on the front. "My new favorite color on you."
She places the blankets down and kisses him lightly over is heart. "Goodnight Mr. President," nuzzling her face into his chest allowing his heartbeat to lull to sleep.
"Goodnight Livy," he answers wrapping his arms around her securely. He places his lips against her forehead and quickly falls to sleep.

"Trip to the Big Apple" (Little over 2 weeks later)
"The White House has announced that President Grant is taking his first trip to New York City the week of Valentine's Day. The President will be leaving via Marine One Tuesday morning, where he will land in New York City.
The President has a full itinerary for this visit. While in the Big Apple, the President will be visiting the Empire State Building, laying Red and Pink Roses at the 9-11 Memorial at Ground Zero where he will a giving a speech, and finally addressing the United Nations. There are other events on the President's schedule but the White House has not released them to the Press as of yet.
The White House has not confirmed when the President and will return from his trip, but it is rumored that he may be going on his first date. President Grant does not comment on his personal life in the press. He actively refrains from it, making sure his personal life does not take away his plans for this country. But it should be noted that President Grant is the FIRST US President to divorce and remain in office.
Since the divorce was finalized six months ago, we can only assume the President would like to start dating. He is the most eligible bachelor in the world, and it would be wonderful to see him happy again. It should also be noted that this is an election year for the President. A great woman on his arm would do wonders for his approval ratings and make him appear to be normal like any other single guy. The Nation and the World stand by wondering who the lucky lady could be and when he will show her to the world. This could be a very Happy Valentine's Day indeed.
The news anchor then signs off.
February 17th...
Olivia hears the news broadcast at OPA and inwardly she begins to panic. She hoped they would have more time together before going public, but with the Press getting wind of him maybe going on a first date, she felt fear again creeping into her heart. She hoped the Nation and World would accept her and Emmalynn.
Karen, Jerry, Fitz, Emmalynn and Olivia were truly becoming a family – something she always hoped for. She always knew she would have her parents by her side. But in terms of having any more children, getting married and falling in love again – she ever thought it would happen again.
All changed when Fitzgerald Grant saved her on the side of the road the day of "their" Godchild's christening. He changed her world for the better, opening her eyes and heart to love with hope all over again. She loved Christopher with all her heart, but Fitz turned her world on its axis. She loves Fitz beyond anything on this earth, and believes they can weather the storm when they finally go public.
She is running scenarios in her mind if the Press discovers who she is earlier than they planned. What statement the White House and Fitz himself should make. And then what she should say on her end? Then it hits her, when they go public not only will the world know who she is but Christopher's father will as well. Her heart constricts in her chest at this thought.
"Liv," she hears. She looks up and sees Stephen standing there before her. "You okay?"
"Not really," she answers.
He sits in front of her. "Nervous about your big date tonight with POTUS," Stephen leans on his hands hoping she does not back out of it. Fitz had been planning their date for weeks. He called Abby and him this morning to make sure they were still good to watch Emmalynn all weekend. Fitz wanted to take her out on Valentine's Day but opted for this night instead.
Valentine's Day was on Tuesday and he realized after everything he planned for Olivia, he wouldn't be there totally forgetting about his NYC trip. Since the trip to The Big Apple couldn't be rescheduled, he decided to push their date back a few days.
She gives him a faint smile. "Well of course I am Stephen. I haven't been a first date in forever. But it's more than that though."
"Liv," pulling his chair around to sit next to her. "Abby and I have Emmy. She's going to be fine. We have the entire weekend planned. We've got this," he squeezes her hand. "Fitz is going to sweep you off your feet tonight."
"I know," she whimpers. "He's got me on pins and needles but that's not the problem."
"Liv then what…," he pauses seeing the ticker at the bottom of the TV. "President Grant possibly goes on First Date."
"Stephen" she cries. "I'm scared."
He scoots his chair right next beside her and wraps his arm around her. "I heard from Tom that everything has been planned and arranged. No one will see you, NOT until Fitz is ready to announce your relationship to the world. That is a choice you both will make together."
"But what about," she stops and Stephen understands.
"Huck is keeping an eye on Chris's father. So far he does not suspect you are The President's Girlfriend. His mother has been doing well seeing Emmy without him finding out. And when his retched father does learn of you two don't worry about it. Fitz will protect you and Emmalynn," he assures her.
"I am not worried about me Stephen. I am scared for Fitz," she answers. "He still does not know who Chris's father is. I have to tell him."
Stephen agrees. "Yes you do love but NOT tonight. Tonight is about you putting on that gorgeous gown, and knocking that man's socks off. It's about you two FINALLY having sometime alone to yourselves. Give yourself to him this weekend and NEVER look back."
Olivia smirks understanding Stephen's meaning. "Stephen the way Fitz makes me feel. I've never loved anyone like this before. I'm terrified and what if…I don't deserve him."
Stephen kneels down before her, and grasps her hands. "Liv you and Emmy are owed EVERY single bit of happiness on this earth. So go ahead and take it." She bits her lips and begins to smile. "This took a lot of planning on Fitz's part. From what I can imagine he has planned, this weekend will be the most romantic of your life."
Olivia blushes. "And HOT," Abby states coming into the room. "She's going to come back preggers."
"Abby," Olivia throws something at her from her desk. Abby moves out of the way.
"What I'm surprised you ain't yet," Abby chastises her further. Olivia swallows quickly and hides her head in Stephen's chest. "Shit you two haven't gotten busy yet."
Now Olivia gets up. "Okay we are DONE talking about my sex life. I am out of here," glaring at Abby. Stephen giggles behind Olivia. She turns around to face him. He nods to her in the hopes that she understands. "I'll see you two soon and don't be late. The secret service is picking me up at 7:00pm sharp."
"Yes Ma'am," they salute her on her way out. "Bow Chica Wow Wow," she hears from Abby walking away. On her way out she finds Emmalynn with Quinn and Huck. Emmalynn hugs them both and heads out the door with her Mom.
As Emmalyn and Olivia make it to her apartment, Emmalynn runs to her room and brings out some toys to play with. Olivia suggests she plays in her room while she showers. Her daughter excited because she never gets to play in Momma's room. Olivia sets her up with everything and takes her shower. Fifteen minutes later she emerges smelling like lavender.
Emmalynn walks up to her and Olivia leans down. She touches the towel on her mother's head and Olivia takes it off for her. "Natural curlies Momma."
"Yes baby," as she runs her own fingers through her daughter's hair. It's a perfect combination of both her own and Christopher's.
"Fitz like curls," Emmalynn asks running her fingers through it.
"Yes he does," she grins remembering that he loves running his hands through her hair. The gesture sooths and makes her miss him more. She has not seen him since the "dinner date" with her parents because of their busy schedules. They talked every day, but she missed being in his presence and of course his arms. Cyrus worked him to the bone the last few weeks so Fitz could have this weekend to be with her.
She is grateful to Cyrus for it, and of course Stephen and Abby for watching Emmalynn this weekend. She has not left her alone in a while. It pains her to be away from her little girl, but her and Fitz NEED this time alone to be JUST THEM. She knows Abby and Stephen will spoil her rotten and from what she heard from Cyrus, they are going to his house Sunday to see Ella.
"Emmy are you okay with me going away this weekend," Olivia asks her as she begins to press her hair.
"Yes Momma. Abby and Stevie take care of me. Lots of Sophia. I bake with Abby," Emmalynn grins. "We save you cookies."
Olivia laughs. "You best save some for Fitz, Jerry and Karen too Little Lady."
"I will. I'll miss you and Fitz. I see Fitz Sunday night?" Olivia looks behind her as she finishes her hair, and sees Emmalynn pouting.
"Yes Sweetheart," she motions for Emmalynn to sit with her. Emmalynn joins her and helps her pick out the perfect jewelry to go with her gown. "This one," showing her a gorgeous necklace and earrings.
"Yes Momma. Has red in it," Emmalynn points out, then gazes at her mother's gown. "Fitz going to love it."
Olivia grins wickedly. "Oh yes Sweetheart he will." She kisses the top of her head, and makes sure the "rest" of her is ready before she finishes getting ready. As she finally slips into her gown, she hears a slight knock on her door. She places her rob on over her dress and goes with Emmalynn to answer the door. Stephen and Abby step inside.
Olivia ushers Abby down the hall to help her zip her gown. The moment it's zipped she slips off the robe and turns around to face Abby. "Holy Shit. He's going to flip," seeing the gown finally.
Olivia giggles grabbing her wrap stepping out of her room. Abby takes it from her and when Stephen sees her he drops everything in his hands. "Bloody Hell," he groans.
"Stephen," she sighs biting her lip.
"You are SO lucky I'm a taken man because I would so go after you right now," Stephen winks.
"Oh stop," throws something at him, and he ducks out of the way. She checks her weekend bag and walks to the window waiting for the Secret Service to arrive. Precisely at 7:00 pm there is knock on her door. Abby answers it and sees Tom. He steps inside and when he sees Olivia he stumbles.
"Ma'am," he swallows, clearing his throat.
"Hello Tom," she blushes. She walks up to him, and Stephen helps with her wrap. Tom carries her bag and decides to step outside to wait for her at the elevator. She leans down and Emmalynn. "Pumpkin you be good."
"Yes Ma'am," Emmalynn leans into her arm for a hug. "See Fizz," cooing her special name for Fitz. "Sunday."
"Yes darling you'll see Fitz. No staying up to late. Abby will call me tomorrow morning for you after you watch Sophia. I love you."
"Love you Mommy," Emmalynn smells Olivia's hair. "Lavender…,"
"From OUR conditioner," Olivia kisses her nose and then stands up. She kisses Abby and Stephen goodbye and heads out her door. Tom meets her at the elevator with the other agents. When they finally make it to the car, she asks Tom, "So where am I…,"
"I am sorry Ma'am but I can't tell you anything." Tom grins from the front seat.
"God he's aggravating," she grumbles as they drive onto the highway. "Is their going to be music?" But Tom does not give her an answer. "Fine. But can you do one thing for me Tom. I promise this will not be giving anything away. I just want to surprise him and this would be very fitting considering," she looks at her dress.
Tom grins. "Yes Miss Pope. What do you need? I'll call ahead and make it happen. The President cannot be the only one that should get to surprise you tonight. I think it's only fair you make the night as special for him."
"Thank you Tom," and then she explains to him what she needs.
"Consider it handled," he answers and calls ahead to where her date with Fitz is taking place.
A short time later they arrive at an airfield and a helicopter is waiting. "Tom?"
"This way Miss Pope," Tom instructs. He ushers her to the helicopter and helps her inside. Her bag is placed next to her and shortly she is up in air. "Your request is been handled Ma'am. Mitch will be waiting for you and he will give the signal when you are ready." Olivia smiles. Sixty minutes later she gasps seeing the New York City skyline.
"Tom?"
He turns around and smiles. "Yes Ma'am. We're almost there. Sit tight."
She is speechless. In the distance she sees a helicopter landing pad waiting for their arrival. It's on top of the NBC Studios. The aircraft touches down. Once the rotors stop, and agent comes to her door. She recognizes Mitch and grins. Once she is ushered inside, she begins to wonder where she could be and most importantly where Fitz could be.
"Mitch, where is he?"
"Right this way Ma'am," he instructs. She is guided down a windowed hallway, where she can see the New York skyline and most importantly the Empire State Building. Once they reach the double doors she freezes, and practically drops her clutch. "Miss Pope he's waiting for you in there."
"Mitch," she turns and sees Tom approaching. "This is…."
"Yes Miss Pope," they both speak at the same time.
"My first date with Fitz is at THE RAINBOW ROOM," she musters. "Oh my God." The agents nod. They give her a few moments to collect herself. Tom takes her wrap and clutch. "How?"
"He's the President of the United States Miss Pope," Tom quips. "As soon as you enter the room The President will be waiting for you. You'll see him instantly. He's been a nervous wreck all day," Tom informs her. "He just wants this night to be special for you both."

"The Way You Look Tonight…"
"Thank you both for everything," Olivia holds both their hands. Mitch then takes his spot and is ready to play the music Fitz will hear when Olivia enters the room. Smiling softly, and with one last exhale, she pushes the door open. Her breath catches in her lungs taking in the appearance of the room and HER FITZ waiting for her in the center of it.
There's crystals hanging on the huge windows, causing sparkles throughout the room. White table clothes with red and pink roses are on every table around the room. And as she looks towards the stage she sees a band. She glances down at her feet and notices the immaculate shinny wooden floors. She begins to walk slowly, and stops at the top of the staircase.
She exhales and finally gets a good look at Fitz. His back is to her, and he's standing under the clear chandelier. She grins seeing his black Brooks Brother's tux, with a strip of black velvet on the side of his trousers. His hair is perfectly slicked back, and she can only imagine the sparkle that will be in his eyes when he turns around and finally sees her.
Olivia nods to the band and they begin to play the first chords to "The Lady in Red," by Chris de Burgh. Confusion appears on Fitz's face not asking anyone to play any music. He turns to the band, and is ready to stop the music but freezes. He drops the red rose in his hand on the floor.
A huge smile spreads across Olivia's face, then onto Fitz's seeing Olivia in a gorgeous Mermaid-Trumpet RED gown at the top of the stair case. Fitz's mouth goes completely dry as his eyes glance over her dress. It's sleeveless exposing her perfect shoulders for his lips to kiss. He sees a sweep train going over one of her shoulders, attached with a diamond pendant.
Finally as the first verse of the song is heard she begins to come down the stairs. His heart is pounding in his chest watching her come to him. The Mermaid chiffon gown flows with her body perfectly, showing off every curve of her gorgeous hips. Just under her hips, the cascading ruffles assist her to gliding across the floor. She looks like an angel – IN RED.
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, give'em half a chance
And I've never seen that dress you're wearing
Or that highlights in your hair that catch your eyes, I have been blind
About a foot away from him she stops and their eyes bore into each other. Fitz wants to say something –ANYTHING but he can't. She's rendered him mute. She grins seductively reaching for her sweep train draped over left shoulder. Once in her hand, she spins around slowly, allowing the material to just touch Fitz. She hears him gasp "CHRIST," making her smile grow wider.
Finally she stops just inches away from him and mouths "Hi."
He steps closer into her personal space, only allowing inches between them. His eyes are a bright sparkling blue with hints of his ever growing arousal to take her on a nearby table. The rapid rise and falling of his chest as he looks down the sweetheart neckline of her gown. He licks his lips seeing her cleavage exposed. At this rate, they won't even make it through the meal.
"Hi," he mouths, as the next verse of the song begins. Before she can blink he pulls her into body in one swift motion and they begin to dance. The heat Olivia feels emanating is all consuming. Every part her struggles to stay focused in this moment and not give into her heart's desires. His musky, pine cologne enters her nose sending shivers down her spine.
His large hand is place securely on her lower back pulling her as close as humanly possible. Their bodies are molded together perfectly as he begins to move her slowly to the song. His other hand, locates hers and brings it to his lips kissing it tenderly. Fitz then moves it away from his lips and cradles it against his face.
Before she can find her words Fitz then begins to sing…
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, it's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
"Fitz," she murmurs as he sings to her. His deep baritone voice courses through her veins. An even more loving smile appears on his face feeling her in his arms. He then holds her hand out and begins to twirl her effortlessly around The Rainbow Room's shinny dance floor. The smile as he dances the Viennese Waltz to the music warms her heart.
"Livy," he murmurs as he sings the next section to the song;
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled it took my breath away
And I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight
Soon tears begin to pool in her eyes hearing him sing "The Lady In Red" to her. She feels every word in her heart – no soul. He brings her hand in and secures it over his heart. He then leans forward and presses his forehead to hers. Feeling the contact of his skin to hers, is almost too much. She begins to let go in his arms and holds her tighter.
"My Lady in Red," he whispers before chorus starts.
"Fitz," she sighs.
Cupping her face with one of his hands, he gazes into her eyes. "So beautiful," he utters in a cracked hoarse voice full of emotion. Before she can respond, he sings the next section of the song.
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, it's where I wanna be
Well I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
For the final section of the song, Fitz wraps both her arms his neck. Her fingers find the base of hairline, and he sighs as she touches his curls. Both his large hands are now placed on her lower back just above her tailbone and cascading ruffles of her gown. He pulls even closer, causing her to squeal out in delight.
Slowly he sways from side to side to the beat of the music. Her heart and stomach both feel "those" butterflies take flight as he sings the words to Olivia.
I never will forget the way you look tonight
The lady in red, my lady in red
My lady in red, my lady in red
I love you
"Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart," now holding her face in his hands aching to kiss her.
"Happy Valentine's Day Fitz," she murmurs. Before he closes the distance between their lips she asks, "So I gather you like my dress," she pauses. "Mr. President."
"Oh very much," he growls into her ear. His hands begin to caress her body everywhere he can reach. He begins to place light kisses on her exposed shoulders. He reaches her neck and allows his tongue to taste her exposed skin. Each kiss causes her body to shake. He smiles as he continues to his assault on her body. In a voice of pure lust, "I can't wait to get you out of it."
She giggles in his arms feeling his hands on her bum. "Good, neither can I," pulling them closer so she can move her waist against his growing arousal. "Cuz all I'm wearing underneath is a BLACK LACE thong."
Fitz gasps out loud. "Seriously." She kisses his lips quickly confirming his answer. He moans, "God I love you."
"I love you too," Olivia breathlessly answers before Fitz gathers lips for an earth shattering kiss.

TBC…
OMG are you freaking serious after ALL THAT HOTNESS Me's is just going to leave us hanging here. (Talk about #BlueBalls. ;-)
Now I promise in the NEXT chapter you will get to read the rest of their date, and IF ANYTHING happens afterwards. I hope I lived up to your expectations from when OP first arrived to The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center. I tried to write every detail on from her dress, the Rainbow Room, to everything Fitz was feeling seeing her as "The Lady In Red" played in the background.
That section of the chapter literally left me breathless. I'd also like to thank KWsGladiator (#FanFicWife..MO) for this EPIC first date idea. Without you this would not have happened.
So leave me your #Valentine'sDay Hearts and I hope this was worth the wait.
Peace, Love and Pumpkins…Me's
P.S. You can find a picture of her gown on my tumblr blog and I'll post it on twitter. ;-)
