Hello Gladiators

It's hard to believe the Series Finale of #Scandal airs tonight. I know some of you stopped watching it, a long time ago, but I stuck with it. Not with only 1 left, it seems surreal. I tend to not comment about the show in my updates, but I will say, that I'm grateful to Scandal.

The show brought Olitz into my life, which brought fanfic, and of course got me writing. So for that, I'm thankful.

So here's your #FizzAndEmmy Update.

And if you watch the show still, let's go #OverACliff one more time. (Tears…)

Thank you for reading…

Chapter 23: "I Am Redeemed and Saved By Grace." (Lailah Gifty Akita)

"Possessiveness comes when there is a fear of losing a loved one. Not because they don't trust you, but they can't imagine a life without you." - Unknown

Almost Lost You…

"Hi," he utters in a broken whisper gently lifting Olivia's face to gaze into her soft brown eyes. His head rests on the pillow beside hers. Tears peek out of the corners of his eyes, threatening to spill. It hits him he could have lost her today. His gaze narrows taking in every single one of her features.

His thumb brushes over her lips ghosting over their softness. His fingers trace from the corners of her mouth to cheeks.

Both cheeks.

Olivia bites her bottom lip. Her face becomes heated as he takes her in fully. She knows what he's looking for. She permits it. He needs this. For her. Himself.

His index finger brushes the bridge of her nose following an imaginary path under her eyes. The deep circles from being tired, hurt, the long day of test after test has taken its toll on every piece of her. She's been in and out of machines, x-rays. Deep within Olivia's gut she is sure Fitz called guaranteeing she receives best care, with every test assessing her injuries.

Fitz eyes travel to her forehead. There are a few bumps, scrapes, bruises and blood from where she collided with the car. His eyes widen seeing a small cut. A butterfly bandage covers the corner beside her eye lashes and brow. His throat constricts. He catches the breath escaping from his mouth. He was not informed she needed any type of stitches.

"Stop," she warns softly noting the tears just peeking out of his eyes. Her lips press to his cheeks softly, tenderly. He's on the verge of falling apart. Fitz is the strongest man she's ever met. He survived an assassination attempt. One would never know it ever happened. The scar the bullet left behind is hidden by his hair.

"Liv…," he voice breaks. He could have lost her. REALLY LOST HER – FOREVER.

"I'm here," she coos. His lips kiss the spot where the doctor derma bonded the small gash. His chest constricts keeping his fears at bay. He continues to kiss her entire face, not leaving one area untouched. A soft but sad smile grows on her lips as he lingers longer and longer. He stops over her lips.

"What," she mouths as his eyes drink her in.

"You almost died," he clips softly.

"Fitz," she protests.

"NO." He voice is hoarse but the strength behind it is enough to get her attention. "I saw pictures of your car Olivia. It is a mangled mess. I have no idea how the paramedics got you out. The windshield is in the front seat. The back seat is non-existent. It's completely pushed in. If Emmy was there we could have lost her."

WE.

They've only been dating since Christmas. Almost three months. Emmalynn is not his child, but yet he said WE. In his heart, she is already his child. He did not father her but the moment Olivia lifted her out of the car the day they met, Emmalynn Grace became engrained in his very soul. Emmalynn weaved her little fingers into his heart, but she became his saving grace, along with her beautiful mother.

She sees his true feelings within his eyes. She's fighting her tears. Olivia understands his heart. She always has. Fitz has the most tremendous heart she's even known.

"Olivia, Emmalynn Grace is not just your little girl," he points out. "She's here," he lifts her hand placing it over his heart covering hers. "And wrapped right here." His pinky finger laces with hers. "Both of you are." She whimpers. "I know she's not my daughter but…"

She silences his next words with a kiss. He doesn't respond at first but when her tongue parts his lips he kisses her back feverishly. His arm behind her back draws her closer until their chests touch. The hand on her face slides down her body, under her hospital gown. His hand creeps up her side, stopping abruptly. He separates their lips.

His eyes lift and darken. Veins on his forehead are protruding.

"Olivia," he growls.

"It's nothing," she winces. His eyes bulge at her nonchalant words.

He separates himself from her. "Show me."

"No. Someone could come in," she reminds him. "I told you it's nothing."

He leans over her body. She shivers feeling heat radiating off him. Olivia sinks in the bed as he hovers into her personal space. "Olivia you have two choices," her eyes raise at his tone. "One – either you lift this gown and show me how hurt you are. Or two…I do it myself."

"There's a third option," she states. "You can wait for the doctor to come. She'll give you a full report."

"That's a non-starter Sweetheart." Her arms cross over her chest shielding herself. "Lift up your gown or I'll do it myself. Choose wisely Livy because right here – right now I'm not just your boyfriend, I'm the President."

She lifts her hands to his face hoping to soften him. He steps away. He's never refused her touch before. "Fitz…"

"Let me see you," his voice breaks.

"Promise me you'll stay calm and not flip out," she begs with her own tears. His mouth falls open to protest but he stops observing the woman he loves falling apart. He's sitting in front of her in seconds cradling her face. His forehead touches hers unable to refuse his growing need to connect with her any way he can.

"Livy," he coos as his own voice cracks under the sheer intensity his love.

She lifts her head to stare into his eyes. "Fitzgerald," she scolds softly. "Please for me. Do THIS for me and not flip out. I swear I'm fine. I am not lying. I just can't handle you losing your cool in the middle of night in the hospital."

"Fine," he acquiesces. "But the moment I bring you home…"

"To the Residence," she announces before he can continue.

"Liv," he staggers as his heart beats wilding in his chest. He was going to suggest she come home to the Residence to get well. He's certain Abby, Stephen, Huck, Quinn, Harrison and parents would take care of her. In his mind, it's not enough. It should be him at her side. They can be there as back up.

"My Mother and Father will be here after 9 A.M. with Emmy. The doctor asked if I had family close by to take care of me. I said I did but I prefer to go home with my boyfriend because….,"

She cannot finish her statement because his lips are already on hers kissing her softly. He sighs, whimpers, exhales refraining from deepening the kiss. She is the one hurt, in a hospital bed. Even in this state, she is still taking care of him in the only way she sees fit, by going home to the White House.

Fitz would have a difficult time functioning worrying about her across town in her apartment or at her parents. It is not them she needs to heal, it's Fitz. She smiles against his lips as he lingers his lips a few moments longer before breaking their lips apart.

Her eyes bore into his not wavering. "You are what I need to get by," she utters with utmost certainty.

"I love you," he mutters lifting her face. Kissing her gently. She smiles. "Now show me." She exhales deeply hoping he'd forget. But he's HER Fitz and forgets nothing.

"Behave Mister," she warns reluctant to show him the extent of her injuries.

"Yadda. Yadda," he winks. A labored breath escapes her lungs. "Come on. It's been a while since I've seen the twins." She squints at his words unsure of his meaning.

"Twins? Fitz I don't have twins…,"

"Oh yes you do," his voice deepens. "When I get the chance I suck on them every chance I get."

"FITZGERALD," she scolds playfully shoving him aside. He stops himself from tumbling onto the hard hospital tiled floor.

He stands to hover dangerously low over her. "Lift gown Livy. I'll do my best to keep my cool however I reserve the right to loss my shit later."

The Doctor VS. The President...

"Fine," she caves. She shifts the blankets to rest on her upper thighs. Fitz sits down as she pulls the hospital garment up to just under her breastbone.

"Olivia," he growls. She shifts uncomfortably as his eyes take in the full extent of her injuries. Her ribs are partially wrapped along with a huge covered gauze area on her side. "What is under there?" She does not answer. Her breathing increases. "Fine," he huffs getting up to read her chart hanging on the bed.

Dressing covering twenty stitches due to laceration from metal shard due to vehicular accident. Must be changed every twenty four hours and cleaned. No showers until staples are removed. Stitches will melt into patient. Deep tissue wound. No vital organs involved. Follow-up appointment will be schedule for six weeks prior to discharge.

Fitz drops the chart onto the floor. He's ready to explode watching her shield herself from his eyes. "Fitz," she coos beckoning for his return.

"Quiet," he snaps. Her eyes widen as he peaks outside the door. A nurse comes into the room. "I'd like her dressing to be removed so I can see her injury please."

"Mr. President," the nurse objects. "That would be highly irregular. I was told you and the patient are extremely close but I cannot comply without her physician's permission."

"I am beyond close to the patient. She is my girlfriend," The nurse's eyes widen. She glances towards Olivia,

"Your dating The President of the United States," the nurse questions Olivia.

"Yes Gail," Olivia blushes. Fitz eyes widen as the nurse walks over hold her hand. "I have known Gail for a long time Fitz. She was an OB nurse when I delivered Emmy. She was my nurse actually. We've been close since."

He silent for a moment. He approaches the nurse slowly. "Ma'am I meant no disrespect but I really need to see how hurt Livy really is." He did not say Olivia. Gail hears the love this man has for her in his voice.

Her eyes meet Olivia's. "You're a lucky girl. Hold onto this one," she winks. "I'll go and get the doctor." Gail steps out of the room leaving Olivia torqued with Fitz. She cannot believe he managed to get her to comply. She throws the gown over her body.

He sits in front of her on the bed with a smug grin. He leans over to kiss her but she jolts her lips away. "Liv?"

"I hate you," she huffs. She faces the wall as Fitz closes the distance between them. Her skin prickles as his warm breath ghosts over her.

"I hate you too," he whispers into her ear. His lips attach to the pulse point where her jaw bone meets the base of her ear. Her WEAK spot.

"Stop it," she protests weakly.

"Never," he huffs into her ear. "I'll never stop Livy. Ever." Her head falls onto the pillow giving him access to her neck. Each kiss she melts more into him. "Worrying, spoiling, and most of all loving you."

"Fitz…it's nothing," she whimpers. "It could have waited till morning." The tears stream down her face. He kisses them away.

"Twenty stitches is NOT nothing," he gently warns. "If this was me wouldn't you do the same?" She remains silent. He's right. She would have been screaming at the nearest doctor, nurse to show her his injury. "I thought so," he cups her face.

"It will hurt when this comes off," she sniffles. "A lot."

"Then I'll be here to hold you through it all," Fitz answers pressing his forehead to hers. She sighs deeply as the attending physician enters her room. Gail is with Dr. Maggie Pierce. She introduces herself as head of cardiothoracic surgery. "Heart doctor. Is Olivia's heart all right," he questions panicking.

"Yes Mr. President, Miss Pope's heart is fine. I did an echocardiogram to be sure. No abnormalities. I was the doctor on call in the ER when she was brought in. I assessed her injuries and did her stitches myself. When the rear end of her vehicle was pushed towards the front, some metal sliced her side. No major organs were hit. Just deep tissue wound. I can assure you Miss Pope is fine," she steps directly next to Fitz.

"I'd still like to see it," Fitz pleads.

"No." Fitz eyes widen at her business like tone. "I will not remove her dressing until it's absolutely necessary. It will hurt. She's swollen around the sutured area. It must be kept clean and dry. If you are here when she's discharged, you'll see it then. It will be changed before she is released." Fitz begins to object but Dr. Pierce stops him. "Miss Pope may be your girlfriend Sir but she is MY patient. Would you like me to rip something off your skin when there is no need? Or better yet off one of your children."

Fitz mouth drops open. "No I suppose not."

"Good now if you are here in the morning, you can see her injury." Gail whispers something in her ear. "Miss Pope is going home with you correct." Fitz nods. "Well then you'll have to be here so you know how to clean the injured area and place the dressing on correctly." She stands up. "I am going to assume you will make that happen or she will not be allowed to go home with you."

Fitz gulps. "Yes Doctor."

"Good." Dr. Pierce lifts up Olivia's gown. She checks her quickly. "Then I will see you both later." Her eyes meet Fitz. He begins to stand but the doctor stops him. "It was a pleasure Sir. Take care of each other. You two make an adorable couple." With her last words Dr. Pierce and Gail leave the room.

Olivia eyes meet Fitz's. She sighs deeply. He removes his shoes, suit coat, before slipping into bed with her. His arm slides under her body being mindful of her injuries. Her eyes meet his as he exhales deeply. "I…,"

"I'm sorry."

"For?"

"Causing a scene with Dr. Pierce," he admits sadly.

"It's okay. I think she was prepared for you," Olivia cups his cheek to bring his face closer to hers. She notes the time. He should leave soon but she wants him to stay. "I don't…,"

"I'm here with you until first light." Her mouth drops open. "Cyrus talked to the President of the hospital to make all the arrangements. But he won't be able to keep the press back for long."

"It's fine," she sighs. "I am ready for everyone to know I'm yours."

His eyes widen. "Are you sure?"

"Yes silly I am," she kisses him. "Plus I'm tired of every news anchor wondering which sister you dating," she chastises. "And the ladies of The View drooling over my man."

He silently chuckles. "Well I heard they think I'm hot."

"Do want me to push you off this bed," she warns. He laughs. "Now go to sleep before you get us into trouble Mister."

"Yes Miss Pope," he snickers bringing the blanket up over both of them. Once she's asleep, he watches her until his eyes become heavy. Becoming public was not part of the plan but he's relieved. He won't have to hide his love any longer. "I love you Sweetheart," he whispers falling asleep with her in his arms.

A Mother's Touch…

The next morning Fitz and Olivia were woken up by Dr. Pierce and Bailey coming in to check her wound. Dr. Pierce warned Dr. Bailey Fitz was going to be in the room. Dr. Bailey introduced herself as the head of General Surgery. Olivia was an important woman in DC considered a VIP patient.

No one knew how important she was until Fitz called speaking to Dr. Bailey over the phone before his arrival to James Madison. Fitz told her nothing of his relationship with Olivia. Dr. Bailey was able to put two and two together on her own. He insisted she get the best care, agents to be in the wing, and to be apprised hourly until he arrived.

"This is an honor Sir," Dr. Bailey greets Fitz. He stands. They shake hands. "It was a pleasure to speak to you earlier over the phone."

Olivia whacks his arm. "You called the Chief of General Surgery," she hisses. Fitz reaches for Olivia's hand. A smug smile graces appears just before he brings it to his lips. She snatches her hand away. "I swear Fitzgerald," she snips.

He sits in front of her. "I didn't call Livy." Her eyes narrow.

"He called multiple times," Dr. Bailey explains with a smile growing. "The top of every hour. Not a minute late."

"FITZ!" She cackles. However before she can scold him any further, his soft lips connect with hers. He gives her a close mouthed soft peck on the lips dissipating her anger and frustration. Dr. Bailey and Pierce shield their eyes.

A "wow" is uttered between them seeing the couple in action.

"I told you," Dr, Pierce mouths. "The President is crazy about her."

Fitz breaks the kiss. An audible moan escapes her mouth when their eyes lock onto the other. His thumb covers her lips to stopping his scolding. "The woman I love was in a car accident. I could not be here because you insisted I stay at the White House to do my job. I was nervous wreck. The updates from Dr. Bailey, then Stephen and Abby were the only thing to keep me from rushing out of the White House."

She sniffles. "Your job….,"

"Means nothing without you and my children," he admits not caring they are not alone. "I love you so you best get used to being my TOP priority."

Dr. Bailey and Pierce hands fly over their hands. Olivia sees them melting in the background. "Stop," she chastises. "Before you turn my doctors into mounds of mush on the floor."

Fitz stands up. "Sorry."

"It's all right," Dr. Pierce chuckles. "Now if you please Mr. President. I need to check her wound and her stitches. I hope you don't have a weak stomach." Fitz nods no. He walks to the opposite side of the bed. Slowly Olivia's gown is lifted. "Olivia this is going to hurt when I remove the dressing. So on the count of three."

Olivia nods.

"One…two..," then the bandage is removed. Olivia and Fitz's eyes widen. She didn't wait till three. "It's better to do it early." Fitz eyes clearly see the laceration in her side. It's bigger than he thought. Both doctors check it closely. "Looks good. In two weeks come back and I'll remove the staples. I'll show you how to help her keep it clean Mr. President."

"Thank you," Fitz replies. "Doctors you are aware she's coming home with me to the Residence."

"Yes," Dr. Pierce comments. "Miss Pope's parents will be here when she is discharged into your care President Grant. Her mother phoned this morning insisting she not be released until she arrives which should be precisely at 8:00 A.M."

"Momma I swear," Olivia groans in the bed. "She is going to drive me crazy."

Dr. Bailey sits in front of her. "Word of advice." Olivia nods. "Allow her to help take care of you with The President. You'll need her help Miss Pope. It's a mother's job to take care of her sick child no matter how old they are. You are her baby."

"And mine Livy," Fitz points out with a sheepish grin appearing on his face.

"Fitz I am no one's," she cuts off a second time in her words when he presses a light chase kiss on her lips. His eyes bore into hers when he separates them. She cannot argue because she is his entire world. It's in his eyes. He's not hiding it from her or the doctors. Her cheek pressed into his hand as her laceration examined.

Olivia's wound is cleaned with Fitz watching. He holds Olivia's hand. "You were very lucky Miss Pope," Dr. Bailey explains checking her file. "If you had been cut any deeper or over another inch, you may not have been so lucky. You would have needed major surgery. And I've seen your SUV. It's a miracle you are alive."

Olivia swallows hard. She was extremely lucky. Abby showed her pictures of the totaled SUV. If Emmalynn had been there, who knows what could have happened. In her mind she downplayed the situation to keep herself from thinking the worse. If Fitz heard it, he would have thrown his schedule out the window to be at her side. She would not allow it.

Fitz's grip tightens on her hand. It's begun to sweat. His palms never sweat unless he's nervous, on the verge of losing control.

"Fitz," she mutters gazing into his eyes. His eyes bore into her own as quivering in their sockets. He inhales sharply. Reality sets in like a brush fire. He could have lost her. Truly. Instead of planning a life with her at his side, he could be helping her family plan her funeral.

"No," he shakes his head. He steps away from her bed feeling the water pool in his eyes.

"Doctor can you…," Olivia pleads. They nod. Dr. Bailey places a new bandage on. She squeezes Olivia's hand before leaving the room. "Mr. President." He jumps hearing her voice. "Look at me." No response. His stares aimlessly out the window. The Nation's capital has begun to come alive under the morning sun.

"Fitzgerald," she whimpers. His dress shirt is stretched to its max.

"Fitz," she cries needing to be held. Her tone is enough for Fitz to turn. The tears are streaming down his cheeks. She beckons for him. "Come here," she begs. "I need you."

Her broken voice does it. Fitz is to her in three strides. Her arms wrap around him. His arms coil under her body. He buries his face into her chest sniffling into her bosom. "Shh…." she coos into the top of his head, shushing him as he silently cries. She sways sideways. One hand rubs circles on his back.

Fitz is the strongest man she's ever met, UNLESS it comes to her. She is his greatest weakness and strength. His beating heart. The idea of Olivia leaving this earth just when he's finally found her – the love of his life is unacceptable. He vows he'll protect at all costs.

"I'm right here," she sniffles into is hair. His arms tighten afraid if he releases her, she'll leave him forever. His sniffles become soft sobs. Her hospital gown soaks in his tears. He's shaking. "Fitz," she croaks. She manages persuade him to lift his face off her long enough to pull down her gown.

She returns his head to her bare chest. She covers them with her blankets warming to offer some privacy. "I'm alive listen to my heart. Feel how warm I am Fitz. I'm not dead. I'm going to be fine," she whispers into his ear.

"Livy," he murmurs kissing her heart over and over again lingering his lips longer and longer. She exhales as he trails his lips all over her bare chest. Kissing every open area he can reach. After each kiss he presses his ear over her heart listening to it within her chest. He doesn't stop until every area of her he's kissed, including over her bandage.

Fitz lifts his head to gaze into her eyes. Tears stream down his face. She kisses them off his skin murmuring how much she loves him over and over again, ensuring he hears her. He closes his eyes listening relishing in the sound of her voice, the softness of her lips, and light caresses on his skin.

"Ever mine. Ever thine. Ever yours Fitz," she coos gazing into his blue eyes.

His throat tightens as her words from Beethoven's letter titled Immortal Beloved pierce into his soul. She is his immortal beloved. With her at his side, he can do anything, be the man – leader he's supposed to be. Olivia is the light and love of his life. Without her, he's a shell of a man he's supposed to be.

"I'm never letting you go. Do. You. Hear. Me," he voices with conviction making her shiver. His grip tightens. She nods. "Ever. If something happened to you. I don't know how I'd…how am I supposed to…," he stutters. "The life I want to live I cannot without you, Emmy, Karen and Jerry. Maybe it's too soon for me to tell you…"

Her finger over his lips quiets him. "Fitz stop," she pleads. "I feel exactly the same. You, all the kids, are my life now. She covers herself with her gown. "Nothing you say will scare me away." He connects their lips briefly.

He holds her on the bed until Cyrus arrives around 8: 00 am with a change of clothes. She catches up with Cyrus while Fitz leaves the room to speak to her team, the doctors, Jerry and Karen.

"Dad the press knows you're there," Jerry informs his father.

"Yah Dad it's on the news," Karen replies next.

"It's okay guys. Liv and I are prepared," he assures them. "Cyrus is speaking to her now. We got this."

"We know LIV has it Dad but do you," Jerry teases.

"Jerry," Fitz groans. "I'm President remember. I can handle the press." Karen laughs. "Why is your sister laughing?"

"The world does not need to see a full make out session when you leave the hospital with Livy or you carrying her to the car to prove you are a couple. Chivalry is not dead," Karen chastises her Father.

"Thanks Ker…I love those ideas," Fitz teases. He checks the time.

"DAD," both kids groan. He speaks to them a few minutes more before disconnecting the call. Dr. Bailey and Pierce also talk to him before he enters her room warning him her mother and father have arrived with Emmalynn.

"We'll be in shorty with her discharge papers," Dr. Pierce explains.

Fitz thanks them both walking to Olivia's room. "FIZZ," Emmalynn screams running into Fitz's waiting arms. "I missed you."

"EMMY," he coos lifting her into the air twirling her around. He peppers kisses all over her face. Her giggles echo in Olivia's room. "I missed you too."

"Momma make Fizz stop," Emmalynn squeals doing her best to stop him from kissing her. "Uncle Cy…," Olivia smiles on the bed. Miss Alice and Louis walked down to the car to fetch Olivia's clothes, toiletries, and make up leaving Emmalynn with her Uncle Cyrus. "MOMMY," she wails.

"Fitzgerald what are you doing to my Grandbaby," Miss Alice scolds coming into the room. "I can hear that child all the way at the elevator." Fitz stops instantly. Miss Alice waltzes up to him with Louis doing his best to keep the smile from growing on his face even bigger. "Give her to Louis, then all of you out. My baby needs to get ready for her debut as your girlfriend."

"Miss Alice…," Fitz begins to protest.

"Ah," Miss Alice silences him with her hand in front of his face. "Out. I got this. The press is swarming the front entrance waiting for you to leave. They know you are in here." Fitz eyes raise. "And if it's going to be known that my daughter is dating you, then by my own hand she ain't going to walk out of here looking like a walking mess. Am I understood?"

"Yes Miss Alice," Fitz agrees. Miss Alice inspects Fitz closely. "Is there something wrong?" His eyes his tie.

"Olivia now I understand what you have to work with," Miss Alice chastises. She struts to Fitz. "Off with it." His eyes widen. "Give me that horrid tie before I strangle you with it." He quickly takes it off handing it to Olivia's mother. She drops it into the trash can.

"Hey that was an expensive tie," he grouses. "I wore it when I was Governor. It brings me luck."

"Darling you don't need no luck coming from that ugly thing," Miss Alice teases. "Now come see your girlfriend's Momma."

"Mom," Olivia hisses embarrassed on the bed. "Can you please let him be?"

"Hush you. He is not leaving this room looking like you two had a quickie in the on-call room," she quips with a gleam in her eyes staring at Fitz and Olivia.

"MOMMA!"

Fitz face is beet red. Miss Alice glances between Olivia and Fitz as she places different tie around his neck. "What you think I don't know what you two did in New York City."

"This is not happening," Fitz mumbles under his breath staring at Olivia.

Miss Alice fixes his tie. Once she's finishes she smooths down his shirt. She beckons for Fitz to come closer. "Just do me and Louie one favor," she pauses. "Marry my daughter BEFORE she gets pregnant."

Fitz mouth drops open. He lifts his hand to Miss Alice's face. "You have my word."

Miss Alice eyes widen. "I'm going to hold you to that Mister," she teases.

"I wouldn't have it any other way," Fitz coos kissing her cheek.

Miss Alice kisses his forehead then helps Olivia out of the bed with Fitz. They escort Olivia into the bathroom. Fitz is scooted out of the room to wait for Olivia. He smirks hearing Mother and Daughter banter in the bathroom. Cyrus enters the room shortly with his finished statement for the Press. He hands it to Fitz to read over.

"It's fine Cy," Fitz utters before Olivia steps out. She's in a dark green knee length, long sleeve shift dress paired with black leggings and inch heeled black leather boots. A shamrock scarf matching the outfit is in her hand. Her hair pulled back in a ponytail allowing her hair to drape down her back.

His statement is placed on the bed before he strolls over to her. Miss Alice steps aside once he's close enough. Fitz takes the scarf fastening it around her neck. His hands cup her face. "God you're stunning."

"Flattery will get you everywhere," she giggles. He draws her into his arms. "Fitz!"

"Are you sure about this," he questions knowing this will change their relationship forever.

"Yes." She kisses his lips. One of his hands holds her face as their lips do their sensual open mouth dance. He's lost in her. She separates them before he has her against a wall or in bed. "No second thoughts," she murmurs.

"Never." His eyes meet her mother then Louis as he walks into the room with Emmalynn.

"You ready for this Pumpkin," Louis questions. Olivia kisses her father's cheek giving him the assurance he needs. "Take care of my girls Fitzgerald."

"Always," Fitz coos as Emmalynn runs to him. He scoops her up.

Stepping Into The Light…

"You're the top of the hour Momma," Emmalynn happily bounces to her mother's side. Olivia clicks on the TV;

"President Grant is reported to be visiting a VIP patient in the hospital. According to Dr. Miranda Bailey, the hospital Chief of General Surgery, who's spoken to The President directly, cannot disclose the patient's name.

White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene also went on record this morning stating President Grant spent the night at James Madison Memorial. When questioned if the patient's name would be released after the President leaves this morning, he said he would do one better. He would not elaborate, but hopes some questions will be answered.

It has also been discovered that Olivia Pope was in a near fatal car accident yesterday. Her young daughter was not with her at the time. Could she be the patient The President is visiting? There have been rumors of the identity of President Grant's girlfriend in the press. It has also known Miss Pope and The President are Ella Beene's Godparents, and have gotten close since her Baptism.

There are also pictures of The President with Miss Pope from this past years Halloween celebration, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, where it is rumored she was there with him and the First Children for the Holidays. Since the announcement by White House Senior Staff he began dating, there has been much speculation throughout social media, and news outlets who the lucky lady could be

If Miss Pope is whom the President Grant is dating they will quite the force in the Nation's Capital and World? All we can do is wait until we see The President comes out around Noon."

The TV is turned off.

Fitz needs a few moments to compose himself. He steps to the window. His eyes travel down to the front of the hospital. Outside he can see cameras, Press Vans, from News channels around the World.

"Mom. Dad," Olivia walks to them. "Can you…?"

"Sure," her parents reply.

Emmalynn walks to Fitz by the window. "Do you want to be a Gladiator in a Suit," she inquires holding his face in her tiny hands. Fitz snickers. "Well do yah?"

"Yes," he chuckles.

"He has to say it right Mommy," Emmalynn questions as her mother reaches the window. She stands in front of Fitz with Emmy in his arms. She kisses her daughter's cheek. "Well you have to say it Silly," Emmalynn instructs Fitz.

He shifts Emmalynn in his arms to hold with only one arm. Olivia without restraint walks into his free arm. He draws her close. "I want to be your Gladiator in a Suit," he utters. Olivia kisses his cheek. He places Emmalynn on the floor. She walks to her Grandparents who usher her outside the room. Jerry and Karen are with her.

He lifts Olivia's face then presses his forehead to hers needing her touch. "I'm okay Fitz. I can handle those vultures outside."

"I know." There's something more. He just has to find his words. He exhales deeply. "I want you to consider this option once Dr. Pierce clears you. You may not like it but…"

"You're going to insist on a driver for Emmy and I. Aren't you," she finishes for him. His eyes raise. "And we will be assigned a Secret Service detail wherever we go."

"How'd you know…?"

"Well one I know you Mister," she cups his face holding it gently in her hands. "Then Cyrus…,"

"Let it slip," he smirks.

"He called me yesterday to check on me before your arrived. It slipped out you will be speaking to Tom. My car is totaled. One of the SUV's used in your detail will be allocated to drive Emmy and I, with a defensive driver," she explains touching the buttons on his shirt. "And there will be agents outside my apartment and building for protection."

"And…," he wonders.

"You're want me to be okay with this because once we leave this hospital, the World will know we are a couple. Cyrus made sure to tell me on no uncertain terms to disagree. He needs you focused on your job. Emmy and I being safe even when we are not with you at the White House is of utter importance," she sighs.

"Wow," Fitz replies in awe of his Chief of Staff. "So you're okay with this?"

"No," she huffs. "But it's best for you, and Emmy." He smiles cradling her face in his hands. "But…,"

"Oh no here we go," he groans.

"No now it's my turn," she warns. "If this is going to happen. I want Tom to be on my detail." His eyes widen. "Emmy likes him and frantically I think he's scared of Abby." Fitz chuckles because it's the truth. "The agents assigned to me must sign a confidentially agreement for OPA and have some knowledge of what I do. Anything that happens at OPA must be kept in confidence. They cannot disclose anything to you even if you ask."

He exhales deeply. But it hers job. Lively hood. He understands. The Agents he's chosen to protect he will guard her and Emmy with their lives and do anything she asks.

"Liv but if it involves your safety or Emmy's," he pleads.

"No," she snaps. His eyes widen. "Nothing Fitz or I cannot do my job properly. It has to be this way, or I'll fight you on this all the way. And I'll win." He loves it and her when she takes charge. "Plus I've dealt with politicians comparing their dicks," her words cause Fitz to break out laughing. "Fitz…," she chastises.

"I love it when you curse," he chastises with a gleam in his eyes. Her hands fly to her hips. "There's more," he snickers ghosting his thumbs on her cheeks.

"Always." he squints. "I know it's going to happen so I might as well suck it up and deal with it." Now he's curious. "Emmalynn and I will be with you for official White House events." His smile broadens. "State Dinners, etc."

"Yes Livy. It may be a lot to ask but…,"

"The American People will expect the First Girlfriend of President Fitzgerald Grant to be there. I know what I'm signing up for. I just don't want my daughter to be paraded out in front of the press like…,"

She's cut off in her words when he kisses her. His hand cups her face holding their lips together as his open mouth kisses leave her head spinning. After almost a minute, he separates their lips. A low audible moan escapes as he holds her face.

"I'm not my ex-wife. She did that every chance she got with Karen and Jerry," he huffs. "I would never."

She sighs relieved. "I just don't want too Emmy used for anything. I have to protect her. Especially from Chris's father." Fitz hears the fear in her voice.

"Livy would he try to take her from you?"

"No. He's wanted nothing to do with us since Chris died. He saw Emmy at Chris's funeral and one time after. We stopped the Christmas after Chris died to see them. His father insulted me, us, and basically told me I am the worse thing to happen to his son. His mother defended us but his father didn't care. He hates everything Emmy and I stand for. Chris chose us, his duty to our Country, over his father. I blamed myself for his death but I don't anymore," she sniffles as the tears threaten to spill out of hers eyes.

"I'm so sorry Sweetheart. If I ever meet his Father I'll set the record straight," she gulps. He sees fear. "Chris's father would never…"

"Hurt me or Emmalynn. No. But his mother wants to be a part of Emmy's life. I'm going to introduce Emmalynn to her as her Grandmother after I'm well," she explains.

"Can I be there," Fitz inquires.

"Can I think about it?" Fitz nods. ""You just have to promise me something," she implores holding his face in her hands.

"Anything Livy. All you have to do is ask."

"No matter how hard it seems, I have to find my own way in this," she explains. "I have to do some of this on my own. And if I ask you back down with Chris's father especially you to have trust me," she explains.

"Liv," he coos softly. "I have handled the most powerful World Leaders in the World. I have a great rapport with grieving parents of fallen soldiers."

"Yes. But he's…" she pauses finding the correct words. "Chris Dad is very opinionated. We call him…Rumpelstiltskin."

"Seriously?" She nods. "You mean like the Dark One from Once Upon a Time right, who has the dagger."

"Yah," she murmurs. "But this Rumple could give the one on TV a run for his money. I always knew he had a mean streak. He showed his true colors once Chris died and couldn't protect Emmy and I."

"Liv if Chris's father comes for you so help me…," he hisses. "I won't stand for it."

"Please," she mutters brining his head down to hers. Their foreheads nestle against the other.

"I'm your boyfriend."

"And the President of this country – first and foremost," she reminds him.

"No I am a man desperately in love with his girlfriend first. President comes second," he smirks. She sighs deeply. There is no point to argue. She'll lose. He notes the apprehension behind her dark brown eyes. "Fine." She exhales. "But I will meet this jackass sooner or later. But the way who is he..,"

She weighs the options for telling him now or later. Deciding it's best to come clean, she opts with telling him.

"Chris's father is…,"

"Excuse me Mr. President sorry to interrupt," Cyrus enters the room. Olivia will tell him later. "It's time. It's 11:45. By the time we get you both downstairs, it will be noon. The press are getting restless. I figured if we show up early it would help." Olivia agrees.

She walks Fitz to Cyrus. She retrieves his jacket on a nearby chair. His arms slip inside then he turns to face her. She fastens the buttons while keeping her eyes locked on his. Olivia's hands smooth down his chest.

"He looks great Liv," Cyrus sarcastically responds. Her head shoots in his direction. He hands raise in surrender. "Come on you two love birds. Time is a wasting and I'm not getting any younger. Plus your kids are driving the agent's nuts."

His comment about the kids is not loss on either.

Dr. Pierce arrives with a wheel chair. Olivia reluctantly sits. They leave the room with the doctor pushing her and Fitz holding her hand. Her parents are waiting the elevator along with her team. They arrive downstairs and begin their trek to the front entrance. Olivia places her hands on the breaks needing a minute. Fitz is kneeling at her side. He kisses her lips which is all she needs.

"I love you Livy," he coos. "No second thoughts," he questions hearing the commotion outside. They still cannot be seen. However the Secret Service has been spotted.

"Never," she voices holding his face in her hands.

"Dr. Pierce may I," Fitz asks wanting to push the wheelchair. She steps aside. Karen and Jerry hold each one of Olivia's hands with Emmalynn sitting in her lap. As they turn the corner they are instantly spotted. The doors open and soon questions are shouted.

"Mr. President, Olivia Pope was the patient you were visiting?"

"Mr. President is Miss Pope your girlfriend?"

"Miss Pope how are you feeling?"

"Miss Pope are you the President's girlfriend?"

This questions causes her to places her hands on the chair just before they reach Fitz's motorcade. Her eyes meet his and he spins her around. Gradually she stands. The chair is moved for her to stand next to Fitz nestled against his side. The tips of his fingers can be seen on her hip.

"Ask the question again," Olivia instructs the reporter.

The reporter steps forward. "Mr. President is Olivia Pope the woman who you have been dating? Is she your girlfriend?"

Olivia's eyes meet Fitz's. Her hand cups his face. Their lips meet in a short kiss in front of the reporters. Fitz is stunned by her bold move but cannot be prouder. He's beaming as she breaks the kiss. He begins to mouth "I love you," but her finger over his lips prevents it. Instead they stand there, foreheads pressed together in front of the World, permitting them to watch their love unfold in front of the world.

Olivia faces the reporters and utters only one word which changes their lives forever.

"Yes."

1 week later

Since the news of President Grant dating Miss Pope, the world has been eagerly watching for a glimpse of the couple together. The White House will not comment on The President's personal life, but we have learned that Miss Pope is staying in the Residence until she is well enough to go home.

Miss Pope's mother and father, Louis and Alice Pope have been granted unlimited access to the Residence spending as much time with their daughter aiding in her recovery. The President is said to be attentive and at Miss Pope's side whenever possible.

The gentleman who crashed into Miss Pope returned home to his family this week. His car was totaled in the accident. It has come to our attention he's expecting a new baby. His family was given a rental car, paid for by Olivia Pope and Associates.

2nd week

Still no images of the "First Couple." However we have learned that Miss Pope is still in the Executive Residence along with her daughter Emmalynn Grace. Images can be seen of her daughter being taken to Preschool by her Grandparents, and Miss Abigail Whelan and Stephen Finch, her daughter's Godparents.

When Miss Whelan or Mr. Finch, or her parents were questioned on Miss Pope's prognosis and how she is feeling since the accident, it is quoted, "My daughter is on the mend."

"Liv is getting stronger day by day," quoted by Abby Whelan.

"My daughter is a fighter," her father Louis Pope has said. "You'll get to see her soon."

Also the gentleman who was in the accident with Miss Pope, welcomed their second child today. No news on the sex of the baby. It has been discovered that Olivia Pope agreed to pay the rental car until a new car has been purchase by the family, which should be by the end of the month.

3rd Week - White House Easter Egg Hunt

These are images of the White House Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny is on the balcony joined by President Grant his two children Karen and Jerry, and of course Miss Pope and her daughter Emmalynn. Miss Pope is wearing a beautiful flowered pink dress with Cherry blossoms. Her daughter compliments her beautifully.

The Nation was in awe today as President Grant walked hand in hand with Olivia Pope around the South Lawn. Her accident was three weeks ago and she's doing well. The White House will not comment on her injuries but the doctor granted their consent for her to join the President today for the Easter festivities.

Jerry and Karen Grant engaged in the Easter Egg hunt with Emmalynn helping her find eggs throughout the South Lawn, with Miss Pope's parents coming to spend time for the day with the couple. When it came time to read The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Miss Pope gladly "stole" the book from the President.

She began reading all while The President inched his way closer, and making faces as the children listened. President Grant also pulled out a pair of bunny ears hoping behind Miss Pope. When he got close enough, she whipped the ears off his head, put him in "Time Out," allowing her to finish the story.

"The President is such a bad rabbit," she chastised.

The kids and their parents witnessed first-hand the First couples love and commitment to each other through the day. There were many PDA moments captured. The President remained at Miss Pope's side through the entire day ensuring she did not tire easily and was well enough.

The Nation has never seen Grant this happy and dare we say it…"In Love."

4th Week

With a three week absence from Olivia Pope and Associates, Miss Pope returned this week to her business with a limited schedule and work load. She was cleared by Dr. Maggie Pierce, the physician who cared for Miss Pope during her hospital stay.

Miss Pope will leave the White House shortly after 8 to bring her daughter to school then head to her office with the Secret Service. Agents will be posted outside her office and building while she is working. As of right now, she is only allowed to work a half day, four to five hours.

She will return to the White House continuing to recuperate. No word on how long she will staying with The President.

5th and 6th Week…

Along with Miss Pope's work schedule it has been learned she has been added to appear at The President's side for events at the White House. Over the last two weeks, President Grant has been seen in the West Wing with Miss Pope introducing her officially to Senior staff as his girlfriend.

Miss Pope walks President Grant down to the Oval every morning with Emmalynn to begin his day. This has become a norm over the last weeks for the couple. Images can be seen clearly of them holding hands in the halls, and her leaning into him as they meander towards the Oval Office.

When they reach the door, Miss Pope fixes his tie, wishes him a good day, kisses him goodbye with plenty of eyes watching. At times The President is reluctant to let her leave but she's has a business to run and is a single-mom. She also returns to the Oval for lunch to surprise President Grant whenever she can.

We have also heard from Dr. Pierce and Dr. Bailey Miss Pope has been medically cleared from the accident to return to her apartment. There are no ill effects from the accident, which we are eternally grateful for as is the President and his Family. The White House pleads with the Press and public to please give Miss Pope and her daughter some privacy.

Two weeks later (8 weeks since accident)

Since going public two months ago, Olivia has never been happier. Her "near-death" accident as Fitz likes to call it, changed her profoundly. She tells Fitz her fears more. Whenever she can she's at the White House with Fitz. It's easier for her to go to him.

He insisted on bringing her and Emmalynn home himself, which added more grey hairs to the Secret Service. The images of Fitz helping her and then carrying Emmalynn into their building were plastid on news channels, and social media sites for days. It seems the American People cannot get of them together.

At night, she notices Fitz worries the most. He calls more often, and is in constant contact with Tom and the agents on her detail. The first week he drove he crazy, texting her most of the night till she was ready to put Emmalynn down. At Emmy's bedtime, Fitz would "face-time" her, reading her a story if his schedule allowed.

Then he'd be on the phone with Olivia until she was too tired. He missed her in his bed at night, but they made up for on the weekends. Now with Mother's day approaching, he has a special event planned for her at the White House. Olivia pesters him for information but of course he's tight lipped which drives her crazy, like the press.

She's grateful they've somewhat died down.

"Has the paparazzi died down any Liv," Stephen wonders as Olivia steps off the elevator with her detail.

"No not really," she grumbles. "But at least they are not camped out there all day like they used to be. Now the vultures are only there in the morning and when I leave to get Emmalynn."

Stephen wraps an arm around her. "This is part of the life with him."

She smiles. "I know. And it's worth it. I love him Stephen." She enters the conference room, notes files on the table. "Are these new cases?"

"Yes now that it's gotten out you are dating The President, every rich politician, or celebrity seems to have a problem only you can fix. This pile is vetted, the other we are still going through," Stephen explains.

"Narrow down to two clients who need us the most." She checks her watch. "Where is everyone?" Huck is at her apartment installing cameras per Fitz's request with Tom. Quinn is helping.

"Abby and Harrison are working on our latest case. I actually got a call from them. They need some help." He checks his watch.

"Go I'll be fine," she assures him. "And my 10 o'clock appointment should be here soon." Stephen gives her a quick kiss on the cheek then heads out. She's in her office when she hears a knock. "Tom…?"

"You have a visitor Miss Pope."

She notes the time. It's 9:30. "My ten o'clock is early. Give me five minutes. I'll get some tea set up." Tom nods. Five minutes later she's in her office. She begins to pour the tea for her client, when she hears them enter. "Hi my name is Olivia Pope. And you are…" she turns to face the person.

She gasps, dropping the hot cup of tea seeing the person standing before her. The cup shatters into pieces scattering everywhere.

"Oh come on Liv you know damn well who I am," the man states. Olivia stands there frozen. "But in case you forgot let me reintroduce myself." He steps forward. She's paralyzed. "You dated, and were engaged to my only son Christopher. You are the mother of my only Grandchild – the love of my dead son's life."

"I…,"

"You know me as one name. But what I've heard from my wife, I have another. I guess my name is Rumpelstiltskin and we have a lot to chat up on. Don't you think?"

TBC…

IS SHE SERIOUS! SHE'S REALLY GOING TO DROP THE #RumpleDadBomb and run. I sure am. It was only a matter of time before the mystery man showed up, but why now? Their encounter and long overdue conversation will be in the next chapter.

Also to all my readers, if you have any concerns about me not updating because of the show ending, please don't be. I will continue my stories until they are finished.

As always please leave a review on your way out. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on Olitz coming into the light, and so on.
