Chapter 9: One Wish Is All It Takes PART ONE

Normal POV:

"My deepest apology, Your Majesty," Brick bowed his head lower.

The King of the Fire Kingdom didn't utter a word as he stared down at the Fire prince who was kneeled on the red-carpeted floor in front of the throne, the seven teens that came back with Brick too was kneeled in a row behind the prince.

"It's okay Brick," The Queen was about to stand up but sat back down the moment the king held up a hand, signalling her to stay out of it.

The King's gaze never left the teens in front of him. "It's not okay," he said, his voice echoed throughout the throne-room even without raising it, "This is serious. Knowing the Woods, they won't just let this matter slide that easily."

One of the boys looked up at the king. "Your Majesty, it's my–"

"I'll take full responsibility!" Brick cut him off loudly, head still bowed.

"Full responsibility? You?" the king snorted, "What can a pesky brat like you do? All you can do is pick fights like an immature child who doesn't know the consequences of their action. I'm very concerned for the future of this kingdom with you as the only heir."

Brick bit down on his bottom lip as he listened to the king's words.

"Raise all securities and the defences," the king instructed one of the butlers.

"Your Majesty I'll go and explain to King Woodfaunus," Brick spoke, looking up to meet his father's orange glare. "I'll explain everything and tell him everything wasn't intentional, that we weren't trying to ignite war."

"Then why didn't you immediately explain the truth to their prince when you had the chance?! Why wait?!" The Fire King bellowed.

Brick swallowed. "Prince Butch wouldn't have listened; he's the type who'll blame everything on others."

The Fire King let out a loud exaggerated sigh and leaned back in his seat. "This is exactly why I say that I'm concerned that you're the only heir. You don't even know how their prince would have reacted. Your assumption may even cause a war that could have been avoided."

Suddenly the king stood up and sauntered down the steps leading to the throne. "Let me ask you this Fire Brick, what makes you think you can just stroll into Woodfaunus's palace and beg for forgiveness right after he got the news from his son that we 'set' their village on fire when you couldn't even resolve things with the Wood Prince even before it spirals out of control?"

The king stopped in front of his son. Out of nowhere he suddenly bent his knees so that he could lower himself to the same eye level as Brick yet his knees didn't hit the ground. Brick held in his breath.

"Tell me something Brick of the Fire, can you truly lead my kingdom in the future?"

"Father I–"

The king stood back up and strides pass the red-eyed teen. A few of his knights was already by his side as he made his way out of the throne room. Seeing this, the queen quickly followed with her own escorts.

"You're nothing Fire Brick. Until you truly learn how to understand people and lead properly, you will not become a true king…" The Fire King stopped and looked back over his shoulder at the stiff boy who didn't even turn around to meet his gaze. "You'll not even be true prince."

Brick was frozen to his spot as the footsteps disappeared into the distance. His red eyes wide as he stared at the ground in front of him.

"Prince–"

Brick ignored the teen that was calling out to him as he shot up and dashed out the throne room. He blocked out all the servants that called his name as he ran past them in the large halls of the palace, he had only one place in his mind.

The redhead panted as he burst through the doors of the palace library.

"Prince Brick?"

The Fire Prince looked around the empty library and his red-iris eyes landed on the person he was looking for.

Brick fell to his knees and screwed his eyes shut to try and soothe the slight stinging in his eyes. His hands balled into tight fists on his knees as his head fell limp.

"Prince Brick?!" Airy ran over to the boy, falling and skidded on her knees before placing her hands on the prince's shoulders. "Your majesty are you okay, what's wrong? What happened?"

"Airy…" Brick looked up into the Airy's eyes with one of the most pained look, one that the older female had never seen before. "Make it stop…" his whispered so softly that if it wasn't for their close proximity the pink-haired girl wouldn't have heard him, but the words were more for himself than towards the girl.

"What are you saying my prince?" Airy bend her neck so that she can see the redhead's glossy red eyes. "Make what stop?"

"This war…" Brick gridded his teeth pressing his forehead into the older girl's shoulder as he hissed out the words.

"I want this war to stop."

"Boom, this is really getting out of hand," Takaaki said as the two boys sat on a flat part on their castle's roof. "None of us can get anything done the moment we step out of this castle, Rachel even corners me just to get to you."

"Well, sorry that you're my brother," Boomer mumbled, he crossed his legs and propped up his chin in one hand with his elbow resting on one knee.

"No seriously!" Takaaki leaned closer to the younger blond, "You have to do something about her."

"Then what must I do?" Boomer muttered. "Put her in my water-cage every time I see her?"

"She's literally threatening you, the prince," Takaaki pointed out, "She's basically committing a crime."

"Are you telling me to just throw her in jail?" Boomer questioned.

"Well, you can."

"Dude, I'm practically the cause of her sister's death, and now I must just throw her in jail?" Boomer raised an eyebrow. "That's messed up."

"I'm just saying. Plus, she's not even a noble, this can be counted as rebellion against the royal family," Takaaki crossed his arms, "With you hiding from her all the time, she's already half-way with taking away your freedom. Be glad father doesn't know about this or she'd be executed long time."

"I know," Boomer mumbled.

"You have to do something soon," Takaaki warned.

But Boomer's mind was somewhere else.

"I still have work to do…" Takaaki peered over the ledge again to check if the girl is gone or not.

"Hey, Takaaki."

"Yeah?"

"Why did you tell me to look for the Book Of Guardian?" Boomer turned and looked at the turquoise-eyed male, finally asking what was on his mind all week. He visibly saw Takaaki stiffen slightly.

"What Book Of Guardian?" Takaaki blinked with a nervous smile.

Boomer eyed his brother with narrowed eyes, "The book you asked me to look for on Monday is called the Book Of Guardian."

Takaaki looked away from Boomer, sweat beaded on his forehead. "Oh… so that's what it's called."

"Don't play dumb," Boomer narrowed his dark blue eyes even more. "You knew exactly what that book was didn't you?"

Takaaki exhaled through his nose. "The only thing I know that it's a powerful book that can summon spirits."

"Why do you want to summon spirits?" Boomer asked.

"Don't you want to?" Takaaki stared hard at his brother. "Don't you want to summon spirits that can help bring peace? Just think about it, we won't have to fear other kingdoms attacking us ever again. No more fighting!"

"You know none of the spells in the book works right?" Boomer said.

"What?!" Takaaki froze in place.

"Mrs Brook and the Headmaster said so," Boomer sighed, turning away from the older male, "They're all S-Rank Uncastable Spells…"

"No way," Takaaki ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "But from my team's research, it is possible. One of the beings that bring peace, it's the–"

"There is no such peace!" Boomer suddenly snapped and stood up. "That research you and your mysterious little group speak of is just a lie. If there was such a thing as no fighting then it would have happened long time ago."

"Don't you dare insult my team!" Takaaki shot up, his tone suddenly turned threatening. Since he's a good two inches taller than Boomer he gave the second-born a good stare down. "You don't want peace then? You want our kingdom to continue fighting to the death?"

"Of course not!" Boomer hissed, clutching his hands into fists. His head lowered as he shut his eyes. "I want it…"

"Want what?" Takaaki said, his eyes icy cold.

"I want it to end!" Boomer yelled, opening his eyes again and glared up at his brother. "I want it more than anyone!

I want this damned war to end!"

"Make sure everyone gets a blanket!" Butch commanded the soldiers as he walked towards a couple who was soothing their children. "There's food being handed out there," he mumbled and gestured to a line of people leading to a small tent.

Butch looked over at another tent where some people are being treated for injuries or for those who had difficulty breathing because of the fire.

"Butch I've told the villagers to take shelter in the tent right after they get something to eat," Raven appeared beside the Wood Prince with a little bow.

"Is it big enough for everyone?" the raven haired boy asked.

"Yes," Raven straightened up and gazed at the villagers that fled their home which was destroyed just a few hours ago. "I ordered more resources from the nearby towns; they'll probably arrive the earliest by tomorrow late afternoon. But for now things will be okay."

"Okay?" Butch's eyes hardened as he turned his head to meet the eyes of his rand-hand-man (woman). "You call this okay?!" he stretched out an arm to indicate the refugees around him.

The refugee villagers were led to another village by Butch after multiple people diving back into the flames to rescue their companions. Since the villagers' homes were situated deep in the forest the fire spread fast and big. Even Butch couldn't create a vine bridge over the flames for the villagers to escape since the fire would just ignite it immediately. The fires spread at an abnormal rate, hinting that there was a bit of magic in the flames.

In the end Raven placed as many protective spells on the villagers, starting from the young and old, as they made a dash for it out the flames. Butch used all his magic to grow a tunnel of the lushest of vines with thick leaves full of moistures to try and block out the flames as heat as best as he could. He had to quickly regrow the leaves on the vines countless times one after the other, he couldn't remember the last time he had to use this much magic.

After that Butch had Raven lead the villagers to the nearest neighbouring village to take shelter, unfortunately the nearest neighbouring village was smaller than the village that was burn down.

Butch had stayed behind to try and stop the fire from spreading even further to other close by villages or burn down the entire land of vegetation. So the Wood Prince reluctantly used a spell that makes the trees die and rot till that they turned to nothing, killing all the trees all around the spreading fire so that they no longer have anything to burn further.

Only after that the rain clouds that were rolling in finally started to drizzle. Butch could do nothing but stand on the open field of dark blackish ground where rich vegetation once grew but now destroyed by his own hands; the blazing trees in front of his very eyes still burning as the drizzle put out the fire at an excruciating slow speed compared the one of its opposite red element that seems to taunt Butch with their dancing-flicking burning tail-tips.

Luckily the village the refugees escaped to have enough food for all the people. Some soldiers from the nearest town had rushed over, thinking that there was an invasion and ended up helping all the refugees.

Butch himself had grown out multiple tents with plants, finally exhausting all his magic before the soldiers stopped him and took over.

One of the soldiers was sent to check out the condition of the fire. The drizzle have apparently turned into a heavy rain and put out most of the fire, but it's pretty obvious that everything where the fire was had burnt to crisps, nothing left. Which means those villagers that couldn't be found during the rushed recuse wouldn't have survived, not to mention all the animals and other creatures that inhabited in the area.

"Your Majesty please calm down," Raven murmured, "You'll frighten the villagers."

Butch glanced at the villagers around them. He let out a hissed sigh before looking at the people. "Take shelter as fast as possible, the rain will reach here soon. I'll speak with the king and try to sort out everything as soon as possible."

Muttering a hush 'Let's go' to Raven he turned and headed towards the direction to his palace, giving orders to the soldiers on how to handle things then onwards as he passed.

Since Butch had used up all his magic he couldn't create a dandelion seed to carry them, so Raven used some Lost Runes spell to get them home faster.

Despite being exhausted from the day Butch immediately went to report to his father in his study about the incident.

"Father, please allow me to lead an assault on the Fires!" Butch exclaimed after his report.

His request was met with an immediate answer. "No," the greenish-black haired king uttered.

"What?! Why?!" Butch shouted, "We cannot let this slide! They flippin burned down a village and a huge part of the forest in that area. Villagers died and who know how many animals and herbs we lost!"

The king let out a sigh and laced his fingers together, cupping them over his lips. "We just lost a battle not long ago. We need a bit more time to recover."

"But they started it!" Butch slammed down his hands on the large desk the king sat at. "They picked a fight! Are we just going to cower and not do anything?!"

The Wood King stood up, looking down at his son. "Not doing anything does not mean we cower."

"Butch it is about time you learnt to control your anger," the king's voice was low. "You must know when you have to hold back. How are you going to win a battle when you know that you have a low chance of success?"

"We still have to pull through!" Butch growled, lashing out an arm in rage. "How else are we going to come out on top?"

King Woodfaunus narrowed his eyes at the green-eyed boy who was starting breath heavily in anger. "So what you want is to be on the top, the most powerful, to rule the all and the only victor?"

"Yes! Why else would I want to be on the top!?"

"If your mind-set is like that then you can forget about being the victor. You're naïve to think that just being powerful will sort everything out," the king turned and was about to walk away.

"Why wouldn't it solve everything, if we take over all the kingdoms there wouldn't be dividers anymore!" Butch argued, "There'll be no more fighting! Everyone would be on the same side! No more pain or war!"

The Wood King turned to gaze into his son's green glare, but it wasn't a hostile glare, instead it was a glare fill of desperation, agony and the slightest hint of anger.

"I'm not a stupid muscle-head that only wants to win for the sake of winning," Butch lowered his head so that his hair shadowed his eyes. "I don't want my people to suffer anymore."

The king's eyes softened, he walked over and rested a hand on the ravenette's shoulder. "I know how you feel, but that's impossible…"

Butch looked up into his father's eyes.

The older male paused, thinking over his words before speaking. "I don't think it'll be possible to make peace with the other five kingdoms, one or two of them might be possible but all five…that's just an impossible task."

Butch's eyes hardened. Shoving off his father's hand harshly, he took a few steps back. "I'll show you then, geezer."

He turned and stomped out the room, shouting words over his shoulder.

"I'll end this flippin war!"

Hi guys I'm really sorry for just leaving this story hanging like that. Well mostly because I lost all the chapters I wrote and lost all motivation to rewrite them all, and also because I was watching other stuff and running from my responsibilities I guess?

Not to mention that my favourite anime is actually something else, but I just really like PPGZ's pairing and I enjoy my story's storyline (even though I mostly imagine them in my head and never really write them out unless I'm super motivated)

I'd also like to say I'm so sorry that I'm breaking this chapter up into two parts again. I just really want to post an update as soon as possible. Trust me I hate how I always make things into parts too.

Oh and I was thinking of giving the kings and queens name so that if more than one king or queen is together in one scene they can address each other. I was thinking of adding the their kingdom's element in their name so that you know, like what I did with Butch's father King Woodfaunus. But please tell me if you think it's too complicated so that I know if I should tune it down a little when using their names.

I'm not sure if people still read this story so if you are please give it a comment to let me if you like it and so that I know if I should keep going.

Thank you so much for all your support all these years
