East Anglia, 878
"Eivor!" A surprised Oswald exclaimed. "What brings you here after so long?"
Eivor had sailed from Ravensthorpe after having said Goodbye to her Ravens, she was on route to Norway to see King Harald Fair-Hair after leaving for so many years. She was on a mission to discover herself.
"I came here to visit you to say a last Goodbye. I'm leaving England" she said looking up at Oswald
"Your leaving England?" A surprised Oswald asked. "Where to?"
"A land I happened to pass while hunting my Father's killer's son a while ago. I want to go back" She explained to him
"Fair enough. Good Luck Eivor. Once again thank you for everything you have done for East Anglia and for me. We are indebted to you" he came up shaking her hand
She shook his hand once again like they had done 5 summers before. Valdis watched on behind Oswald with a nod, as she stroked a child's head. Clearly Oswald and Valdis' child.
"And you little one, look after your Mother and Father. I know you will grow into a fierce little drengr!" Eivor came up to Oswald and Valdis' child
"I will do Auntie Eivor" The child smiled up at Eivor
"I must get going. My crew and Sigurd are waiting for me. Goodbye Oswald, Valdis and little one. Perhaps we will meet again one day" Eivor turned around to leave
"Goodbye!" The child shouted as Oswald and Valdis chuckled at their child with love
"Goodbye Eivor. May Odin watch you on your journey and guide you on your travels. Travel safe" Valdis said to Eivor.
"I will do." Eivor smiled once more before turning towards the docks ready to leave for the shores of Norway.
Author's Note : I just had to write this after playing The Last Chapter DLC, I wish there was a cutscene of saying Goodbye to Oswald instead of Guthrum. I know in actual history Guthrum did replace Oswald eventually but why couldn't Valhalla just make Eivor leave to Vinland a bit earlier so she could of said Goodbye to Oswald and his family instead? Oh well. That's the joy of fanfics you get to change things that you don't like from the original version. Once again. Thanks for reading!
