Present day Silver stood on the same cliff looking out over the expanded village. As he did Cyzer bumped into him making him chuckle "What?". Cyzer turned black making Silver roll his eyes "Okay, but you do know it's not a chew toy, don't you?". Silver sat down and removed his robotic leg "You want this leg. You want my leg? Go get it?". Cyzer leaped for joy as Silver threw the leg off the cliff and he quickly chased after it. Silver took out his map and looked over it as his leg was dropped off next to him. He glanced up and saw Cyzer hovering "You're getting pretty good at flying on your own, bud. Just don't strain yourself okay". Cyzer landed and pushed Silver's leg over the map but Silver ignored him and looked at a missing piece of the map. Blaze then landed next to them "So, this is where you come to get away from Omega" "I have no idea what you're talking about". Cyzer threw Silver's leg at Blaze. It was covered in his saliva "Ugh!" she threw it away. Nao left her body and chased after it along with Cyzer. Blaze wiped the saliva on Silver "Well, he's right, you know". Silver finally looked up from the map "What? Really? You think that we should-" "Oh, Gaia, no. We're nowhere near ready or that. I mean he's right about all of this" she sat down next to him. Silver nodded in agreement "It does seem like the whole world knows about us now" "Yep, and the more Wisps we bring back here, the bigger of a target we become". Silver's leg landed on her lap "Ugh". She picked it up and threw it back over the cliff "I just wish there was some way to make them leave us alone".
Silver looked back to his map "There might be. Dad used to talk about an old mariners' myth of a secret portal that the original generation of Wisps came through" "Well, sailors are known for tall tales" "True". Silver took her hand "But what if it's real? It could be the answer to all of our problems" "How? By moving the Wisps there". Silver smirked "Uh-uh. All of us" "Seriously. Abandon our home of seven generations? The home your father left you to protect". Silver couldn't think of an argument for that. Blaze nodded "Yeah, I think we need a real solution, Silver. Not moving planets". Behind them Cyzer was chewing Silver's leg, Nao tried to get close so Cyzer roared making her back off. Silver sighed "Well, we could just take Omega's advice and tie the knot. That should fix everything. But, hey, if you're having doubts about yours truly, I'm pretty sure Shard's available". Blaze laughed "Oh, I couldn't take Shard. Your Mum's been very lonely". Silver gasped in disgust and playfully hit her arm "Oh, playing dirty now, huh?" "You asked for it. I'm just saying, they seem like a perfect match. I should probably set something up". Silver pulled her in and tickled her stomach making her laugh "How dare you. That is a low blow". She tried to break free, "No, no. You are not getting away". Blaze grabbed his arm and twisted it making him release her "Ow! Okay, okay, you win, you win. You always win". She let go and nudged his arm "You knew what you were getting into". Cyzer gave Silver his leg and then suddenly ran into the woods confusing Silver. He quickly put his leg back on "Uh, bud?". He looked over the cliff and saw Cyzer disappearing in the trees "What? Yeah, sure, don't bother to wait for us".
In a dark foggy part of the forest Cyzer was slithering through the forest. He came through a small clearing and saw the Female Laser resting in the grass. She slowly turned to face him and Cyzer made a strange purring sound and got closer. The female Laser turned white and shrieked making him back up. He turned black and slowly went in a circle as he got closer to show he wasn't a threat. The two came face to face and stared into each other's eyes before they heard a branch snap behind Cyzer. The female turned into her power form which was a slightly lighter shade of Cyan and fired a laser in that direction cutting down a tree in the process. Silver and Blaze poked their heads out and saw the female Laser "Oh, Gaia" "Uh, Silver". Blaze tackled Silver out of the way before another laser blast hit him. Cyzer quickly got between the female Wisp and Silver. Silver got back up "Yeah, yeah, we're friends. No need to kill us". The female Wisp shrieked and started flying away. Cyzer climbed the trees to try and follow her but she suddenly shot into the sky and disappeared. Blaze and Silver were watching "Wow, another Laser" "A female too". Silver tried to think of a name "How about Cysette?". Blaze stared at him "No" "Alright, you name her then" "Utako". Silver stared back at her "What? Where'd you get that from?". Before she answered they noticed Cyzer still staring at the sky.
The next morning Silver was telling their story to Shard "What do you mean, gone?" "Vanished, into thin air". Rotor ran over to them "What do you think?" he handed Silver a drawing he made, "Lighter shade, pointier spike on the head" "Okay, got it". Cyzer then came up to Silver with his tongue sticking out with drool coming down "Bud, what's gotten into you? What's all this slobbering and panting". Blaze chuckled "Isn't it obvious. He's in love". Silver leaned in close to Cyzer "Trust me, relationships are nothing but pain and misery". Blaze playfully punched his back before walking away. Silver shrugged "What did I just say. Am I not enough". Cyzer started watching two rhythm Wisps performing a ritual "That's a no" Jet said. Rotor came back with the card "How about this?" "You know what. Just trace over your Cyzer card and make her lighter". Blaze then returned with a basket of fruit "Cyzer has a girlfriend" "I never took you for a romantic. Like, ever" "But it's so sweet. I mean, look". Cyzer was copying the rhythm dance with his own shadow before nuzzling with it. Jet crossed his arms "Okay. That's just sad. And weird" "You better do something" Wave added. Silver sighed and got to his feet "Alright. Let's head back to the woods and see if we can find her". Cyzer smiled and started running ahead of them. Jet put his arm over Silver's shoulders "Good, privacy. Let's have the boy talk" "What?" "Come on, let's get go work this out". Silver looked back at Blaze for help but she just shrugged.
They were now in the woods and Jet was still going "So, you want to get married" "Uh" "Well good news. I've been to two weddings. I crashed both, but none as high profile as yours. Lot's of pressure, judgement. And not just by me". Silver tried to stop him "Look, we talked about it. We're not getting married" "Cold feet. I've seen it before. Don't worry, little Silvy. I'm here". They kept walking as Silver looked confused "Silvy?" "Now, I've seen the way Blaze looks at you. Everyone has that doubt, that not so subtle disappointment, that longing for something more than you. You need to focus on being worthy. She's a warrior queen, you are neither. But with me as your best man, your spirit guide, if you will, you'll learn to embrace your inner warrior. Show these naysayers, of which there are many, that your more than just a malnourished runt with weird quills, and a twig for a neck". They entered the clearing "You're… You're really bad at pep talks" "Stop letting these insecurities get the best of you. Everyone's watching, and I mean everyone. You need to man up. Do as I do. It'll be hard but you have my word. And until I break that word, I will not give up". Silver was no longer listening as he saw something I the grass. He ran over and picked up a small dart with a purple liquid inside "What is that?" Jet asked. Silver saw Cyzer searching for Utako "Cyzer! Don't move!". He picked up a stick and threw it in front of Silver tripping a trap which closed a net.
Silver took the dart to Omega's workshop "Someone's here" What?" "He managed to slip past our scouts and laid a trap in the woods". Jet angrily picked up the dart "It ruined boy talk" he threw it into a crate only just missing Rutan's head. Omega excitedly armed his machine guns "I'll arrange a search party. He'll be mostly intact when we find him". Silver nodded "Alright, scouts in the air. Me and Cyzer will check the coastline". Rutan stared at the dart looking worried "Uh, I wouldn't advice taking Cyzer anywhere, chief. I know this handiwork. Kragok the Echidna. Famous back where I come from. Smartest Wisp Hunter I ever met. Well, next to me of course". Silver shrugged "He can't be that smart. He left his trap unmanned" "Nothing's accidental when it comes to Kragok. He lives for the hunt. He gets inside the mind of his pray. To control its every choice. It's all a game to him". Blaze didn't look worried "Well, he doesn't know who he's playing with" "Yeah, we've dealt with his kind before". Rutan shook his head "Don't underestimate him, Silver. Mark my words. He'll be back" "Then we'll be waiting for him".
At night Silver was in his home that was lit by a few candles. He took out a book and started going through it "Alright. Okay, give me a clue, Dad" he heard a creaking sound. He looked up, the window in his roof was open. He heared another sound and turned to see a shape in the shadows pouring a drink "I hope you don't mind if I help myself. This is quite good". Silver turned his bracelets and he glowed cyan. Kragok smirked "That is impressive. But let me finish my drink". Kragok raised his robotic arm and fired a blast at Cyzer's bed "Cyzer!". Silver saw he wasn't moving "What did you do to him" "Eh, nothing that he won't sleep off". Kragok sat on a chair and pointed his arm at Silver "May I? Chief Silver". He stared at him "Your parents weren't very creative, were they?". Silver stood his ground which made Kragok smirked "You really have no idea who I am, do you? Well, your father knew of me. Now there was a chief. One of the greatest wisp hunters to have ever lived. What would he think of you?" he laughed. Silver got closer as Kragok continued "He had it right, you know. Making it his mission to destroy the beasts, so that you could grow up in a better world" "He changed his mind" "And look where that got him". Silver scowled "Your people did that" "Okay, let's get to the point already. I am the Laser killer. I've hunted every last one but yours. You're going to give me that Wisp or I will…" "I will never give him up".
Kragok laughed harder and fearlessly walked right up to Silver "You wish Wisps to live free among us like equals? A toxic notion, my boy. History has shown that we are a superior species. What if word of your misguided ideas were to spread? It could be the undoing of civilisation as we know it". Kragok then noticed the thing under the bed moving. He nudged it and Rotor revealed himself looking very tired "Did we get him?" he fell over. Silver used his powers to hold Kragok in place "Now!". Everyone leaped out and surrounded Kragok "You think you can come into my home, sit in my father's chair and threaten my people?". Kragok smirked as he listened, "This is Onyx and we have defended our way of life from far worse than you". Kragok laughed "Oh, a fighting spirit. I love it. Only I'm afraid you're mistaken. You've never seen anything like me". His arm released a sound and the ground started to shake. The roof of the house broke open and three small Nega Wisps fired down on the group "Look out!" "Run!". Omega picked up Rotor and ran out of the house with Blaze. One of the Nega's fired down at Silver but Tikal turned into her orb form and blocked it. Kragok walked out of the smoke "Have my Wisp ready when I return or I will destroy everything you love" he disappeared. Tikal and Silver were forced by the smoke to flee outside where they saw that the multiple houses were on fire.
