"Explain to me again why you're so late," Karen said, helping Harry to remove his coat.

"For heaven sake, woman, can't a man have any secrets," Harry said, causing Karen to laugh. Harry then went into the other room. Karen noticed something in Harry's coat pocket as she was hanging it up. It was a square-shaped box. Curiosity got the better of her, and she opened it. Inside was a beautiful, gold heart-shaped necklace. This, Karen was not expecting! Usually, Harry got her a brand new scarf, but never something like that.

Christmas was coming up soon, and on Christmas Eve, the family would each open one gift and save the rest for Christmas morning. Karen couldn't help but to look at the square-shaped package wrapped under the tree. On the card it read, "Sorry I'm such a grumpy bugger. Bad Harry." Karen laughed. It was true. Harry could be a grumpy bugger at times, but he still made her laugh after all these years.

On Christmas Eve, the family gathered round the tree to open a present. Karen was the first to open one at Harry's request. She insisted on picking the square-shaped package.

"I did get you the traditional Christmas scarf as well, but this is my other slightly special, personal one," Harry said, with a smile.

"Thank you," Karen replied, giving him a kiss. "That's a real first."

The kids excitedly yelled for Karen to rip it. She did. As she was expecting, it was the beautiful heart-shaped necklace.

"Oh, Harry."

"It cost me quite a bit, but you're worth it, sweetheart."

Happy tears sprung in Karen's eyes. Even though she already knew she was getting it, she was still touched.

"Put it on," Daisy yelled, excitedly.

Smiling, Karen put the necklace on.

"It looks perfect on you, darling," Harry said.

Karen got Harry a nice present, too. She had to get him something special. She got him a brand new watch. It was pretty pricey, too, but they were able to afford it. While the little ones opened their one present, Harry and Karen went into the bedroom to get ready for the Christmas pageant.

"Thank you so much, Harry. This means the world to me."

"You mean the world to me. Thanks for my watch. Oh, and I fired Mia."

Karen did a double-take.

"You did? Why?"

"Well, you were right about her. She kept coming on to me, and she wanted me to buy her something pretty. You're my wife, and I love you. I would never do anything to jeopardize what we have. Her doing that made me realize how much you mean to me. I wasn't going to let her ruin our marriage."

Karen surprised Harry by pulling him into a passionate kiss.

"What was that for," he asksed, dumbfounded.

"For being the perfect husband and father."

Harry smiled and wrapped his arms around his wife's waiste.

"You're beautiful, you know that?"

"Not as beautiful as Mia."

"Mia's pretty, but she doesn't hold a candle to you."

"That's how I feel about Hugh Grant. He's dashing, but doesn't hold a candle to you."

Harry cringed.

"I wish you wouldn't say that. Hugh Grant resembles your brother."

Karen laughed.

"I almost got you a Joni Mitchell CD," Harry said, running a comb through his hair.

"That would have been nice too, dear."
