Hello, Insanity Fans! I know! About time! But here it is. I posted TWO chapters instead of one so I hope you'll forgive me for making you wait so long. Time for some excitement! Time for some fun! Time for Tom and Jerry!
Disclaimer: I don't own Tom and Jerry. I only own the OCs.
Insanity Chapter 18: Personality Override
The next day started out normally, with Tyke waking up everyone in the house with his screams. Soon enough, everyone sleepily walked out of their rooms, looking like zombies. The only one who didn't look sleepy and irritable was Tom, who had a big grin on his face.
"C'mon everybody! Rise and shine! It's a beautiful gorgeous new day!" Tom said.
Butch shook his head. He still wasn't completely used to this 'new' Tom.
"You seem pretty happy." Butch said.
"And why wouldn't I be happy on a day like this? It just warms my heart to able to wake up to such a gorgeous day." Tom said.
Tyke, who either didn't notice or didn't care about Tom's new personality, walked up to Tom.
"I WANT CEREAL!" Tyke yelled.
Tom smiled.
"Of course little guy. I'll be happy to make you some cereal. In fact, why don't I make everyone some breakfast? I'll be right back." Tom said as he went into the kitchen.
Soon, the smell of pancakes and sausage filled the air as Tom happily fixed everyone something to eat. The Tom and Jerry Crew just sat there, most of them feeling too sleepy to do anything else. Tyke turned on the TV and began to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Not too long after that, Tom had entered the room and had given everyone a plate filled with food.
"Thanks." Spike said, looking at the plate of food.
"You're welcome. If you want anything else, feel free to let me know." Tom said.
The not-so-gothic cat walked back into the kitchen where he opened a cabinet filled with food that was for his 'pet'.
Taking the jar filled with flies in his hand, Tom walked downstairs where his hairy mutant spider was. The creature had made a giant web in the corner of the room, and it stared at Tom as he walked torwards it.
"Here you go, big guy. Breakfast is served." Tom said as he handed the spider it's meal.
Afterwards, he walked back to the living room where he sat on the couch with a smile on his face. The others (except Tyke) stared at him, half-expecting him to somehow revert to his older self and start barking orders.
Instead, Tom got up and walked to the door. The others were confused.
"Where are you going?" Jerry asked.
"I'm going for a walk. I shouldn't stay inside on such a beautiful day like this." Tom said.
Butch, Spike, and Jerry looked at each other before looking back at Tom.
"Can we come with you?" Jerry asked.
"Sure. The more the merrier." Tom said happily.
The others smiled as they followed Tom. Not wanting to be left behind, Tyke jumped up and followed them, dragging his toy airplane with him.
They locked the door and got ready to go on their walk.

Meanwhile, the 'other' Tom and Jerry were busy with their evil experiment. The two villains smiled evilly as they looked at their device.
"Finally. Our trap will soon be set!" Evil Jerry said, looking at the device.
"Now all we need to do is lure them here." Evil Tom said.
"I'll take care of that. Once we lure Tom and Jerry here, they will no longer be thorns in our sides. In fact, if our plan succeeds, no one in this universe will ever hear from Tom and Jerry again!" Evil Jerry said.
The two villains laughed. It seemed as if they were planning something really dastardly.

Meanwhile, at the same time, the Tom and Jerry Crew were walking down the sidewalk. Well, everyone except Tom that is since he was busy helping an old lady cross the street.
"Jack Nobody was right. This is the polar opposite of Tom's normal personality." Jerry said.
Jerry, Butch, Spike, and Tyke watched as Tom helped the old lady cross the street.
"There you go, miss. Now, you make sure to be extra careful and stay safe. After all, it can be a dangerous world out there." Tom said.
The old lady waved at Tom as she kept walking.
"Such a nice young man..." the lady said.
Tom got back on the sidewalk and joined his comrades.
"Ok, where to now?" Tom asked.
"Well, I was thinking that maybe we could go to the park..." Jerry said.
Just as he said that, his phone began to ring. Jerry took out his phone and answered it.
"Hello? ... Oh, hi, Director." Jerry said.
Butch and Spike paled. What could the Director possibly want? Jerry held the phone away from his ear in pain.
"Could you quiet down, Director? You're too loud." Jerry said.
The noise on the other end of the phone got louder. Jerry covered his ears for a few moments before speaking.
"Sorry, sir. You can speak at whatever ear-drum crushing volume you want." he said.
The noise on the other end of the phone continue to blare. Jerry had to hold the phone several inches away from his ear.
"Yes, they're all here. Even Tyke." he said.
More loud noise from the phone blared out.
"Right now? Well, I don't know. We were planning to-"
The noise on the other end got so unexpectedly loud that Jerry dropped his (mouse-sized) phone by accident. The rodent picked up his cell phone and spoke.
"Ok, we'll be there."
Shutting the cell phone off, Jerry turned to his comrades.
"The Director wants us at the studio. Turns out they want to start filming the next episode of Tom and Jerry Tales ahead of schedule." he said.
Butch turned his head.
"He wants us ALL there?" Butch asked.
"Yep. Even Tyke. He's going to be in the next episode apparently." Jerry said.
"YAY!" Tyke shouted.
Apparently, the thought of being on television again was exciting to the young pup. Too bad the others didn't share his enthusiasm. Except Tom of course.
"Well, what are we waiting for? To the studio we go!" Tom said.
Butch smirked to himself.
"The guys at the studio are going to get a shock when they meet the new Tom." he said, smirking.
XXXXXXXXXXX
The quintet made it to the studio in due time. Butch, Spike, and Jerry were running, knowing how much the Director HATED tardiness. But Tom was of no help. Running so fast caused the three to bump into a lot of pedestrians and got in the way of automobile drivers, and Tom was busy apologizing nicely for their rudeness... which wasn't a bad thing, but it did keep them from getting to their job on time.
Even Tyke, as easily distracted as he was, didn't move as slow as Tom currently was. By the time they got to the studio, they were fifteen minutes late.
"We're dead." Jerry said, as they made it to the door of the set.
Walking in bravely, the Tom and Jerry Crew immediately covered their eardrums.
"YOU... ARE... LAAAAAAATTTTE!"
The noise was so loud that all the glass windows broke. The soundwaves coming out of the Director's mouth were so darn loud, that they were heard all the way throughout the studio and beyond. Jerry frowned.
"Sorry, but-"
"NO EXCUSES! YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE A LONG TIME AGO! YOU FIVE ARE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE!" The Director said.
"We apologize. We know how valuable your time is, and we're sorry to keep you waiting. It won't happen again."
This apology came from Tom, and the entire room went quiet. Even the Director was at a loss of words. Did Tom just... apologize? He almost never does that. He usually said a sarcastic and rude comment when they were late, and he didn't seem to care how angry the Director got. By the time the Director got over his loss of words, his anger was gone.
"Well... alright. Apology accepted. But you better not be late again! Now, we need to start filming! Tom and Jerry, get your butts up on the set. The rest of you stay back until I call you." Director said.
Tom and Jerry got into position. They walked to the set that they used for Mrs. Two-Shoes house. The Director grabbed the script and started talking.
"As usual, the scene starts with a chase. When I give the word, Jerry, you need to run in this direction, heading for the living room. Several moments after that, I want Tom to run on all fours, chasing him. And remember to put some emotion into your acting!" the Director explained.
The two TV stars nodded as they got themselves ready to act.

Meanwhile, the Human Jerry was sneaking into the Tom and Jerry Mansion. Walking on the sidewalk, he looked at the mansion in disgust.
"Look at this. When me and the other Tom were acting in our show, we never earned enough money to afford a house like this."
Indeed, the Tom and Jerry Mansion was state-of-the-art. Everything about it promised complete luxury. The mansion itself was huge. It was large enough to house a family of 50 for crying out loud. There was also an outdoor pool that could be seen nearby. Next to the pool there were two statues, one on each side. One statue was of Tom, the other statue was of Jerry.
Clearly, all the money that the cat and the mouse made with their cartoons, movies, videogames, and other things related to the franchise made them very wealthy.
"But that won't matter was WE'RE through with them." Evil Jerry laughed.
Prying the window open, Jerry climbed into the mansion. The human was surprised at the lack of security the place had considering how wealthy it looked. But then, every one who even thought of robbing this place was usually scared off by Tom, who owned a lot of weapons.
Good thing the cat wasn't here.
Taking out several devices, he installed them in the air vents of the house. Because the manor was so big, it took him a few hours to complete his task.
"Now I know why this place is called the 'Tom and Jerry Mansion" Evil Jerry said, as he saw portraits and statues of Tom and Jerry.
Really, those two were so full of themselves that it disgusted him.
At last, the job was complete. All Jerry had to do was wait. Seeing that the crew had not yet returned, Evil Jerry found a place to hide. He needed to be ready for when Tom and Jerry returned.
He looked at the television in the living room.
Then again, perhaps while he was here, he could entertain himself for a while. He found the remote control and turned on the television, which had so many different channels on it. He laid his head back on the sofa, and picked a channel.

Tom was apparently the talk of the Warner Bros. studio. His niceness was so noticable that everyone was talking about it. The cat himself was on lunch break with Jerry, Butch, Spike, and Tyke. They were all quietly eating their food, except for Tyke, who was running around the lunch room with a chilidog in his mouth.
The others occupying the lunch room were glancing at Tom every once and a while, trying to see if the rumors about him were true.
And they were.
"Are you sure you're okay? Do you need any more napkins? I can get you some napkins." Tom said.
Jerry sighed.
"For the fifteenth time, we're fine! Can you just let us eat in peace?" he asked.
"Oh, okay. Let me know if you guys need anything." Tom said.
"Believe me, sibling. You'll be the first one to know if we do." Butch said, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Moments later, Toodles entered the lunch room, followed by Shaggy Rogers from the Scooby-Doo cast. She was laughing at a joke that Shaggy made, and then she waved goodbye and headed to the same table of the Tom and Jerry Crew.
"Hey, guys." Toodles said, joining her friends at the table.
"Hey, Toodles." Butch greeted his crush.
"Hello, Toodles. Nice day, isn't it?" Tom greeting Toodles.
Toodles was also aware of Tom's new personality, but she didn't know what to make of the new Tom.
"Yes, I suppose." She said, taking out her lunch and setting it on the table. As she began to eat, she looked to the others.
"I wanted to ask you guys something." she said.
Jerry looked around.
"Is it about Tom?" he asked.
"No. Well, actually, I am curious about Tom, but I wanted to ask you a different question. You see, my cousin Pamela is coming over to my house, and she's bringing her five-year old daughter. Her daughter is a really huge fan of Tom and Jerry and I was wondering if-"
"You want me and Tom to appear at your house so we can meet your cousin's daughter? Sure, we'll go. Right, Tom?" Jerry said.
"Of course we will. I just love making little children happy. In fact, why don't bring her over to my house for my birthday party?" he said.
Toodles had actually been afraid to ask that question. She knew Jerry would agree, but Tom was very... difficult when it came to meeting children. And now, he's freely inviting them over for his birthday party? He never does that. He doesn't like it when his birthday comes. It makes him feel older or something. He usually snaps at anyone who even dares to ask if they can come over for his birthday.
"Ok, I'll bite. What happened to you, Tom? You've been acting nice all day. It's not that that's a bad thing, but... how?" Toodles asked.
"It's a long story." Jerry said, covering up the fact that he and the others shot a personality alterator ray at Tom. He wasn't sure if Toodles would approve...
He wasn't even sure if he approved of their actions the previous day. I mean, what were they thinking? Sure, Tom was way out of line, but that didn't give them the right to forcibly change him with the gun. Looking at Butch and Spike, Jerry could see that their faces also looked somewhat guilty, proving that they felt the same way.
Unfortunately, Toodles saw their guilty faces and she narrowed her eyes.
"Guys... what did you do to Tom?" she asked suspiciously.
"Um..." Jerry stuttered.
"Hey, I think I hear the Director calling us! Goodbye!" Butch said.
"Hey, wait for me!" Spike said.
They dashed out of the room leaving Toodles alone at the table with Tom. Her eyes were still narrowed.
Those three were hiding something.
But what?
She looked at Tom. If Jerry, Butch, and Spike won't say anything, then maybe she could pry the answers from Tom.
XXXXXX
Jerry, Butch, and Spike knew that Toodles must have found out about the personality alterator. When they were filming, she kept shooting angry looks at the three of them and every once and a while, she would glance at Tom with a concerned expression.
In one scene where Spike and Toodles were riding a motorcycle together, she gripped Spike's body so tightly that the dog tried not to cry out in pain.
Clearly, the female cat was ticked off.
And Jerry, Spike, and Butch couldn't wait to get out of there.
When filming was over, the three dashed to the exit. Tyke was following them, unaware of the situation that the three were in. Butch grabbed his brother, who was shaking hands with Droopy, and they dashed to the exit.
Toodles got in their way. She still looked angry.
"You guys are sure leaving in a hurry." she said angrily.
"Okay, look. We're sorry, okay? I don't know what possessed us to do what we did, but we're sorry! Okay?" Jerry said.
Toodles slapped all three of them.
"I still can't believe you three! Why would you do something like that to Tom? That's just cold, changing his personality like that." she said.
Butch frowned.
"But he was being such a jerk. You know how cold Tom was. At least his changes are for the better." Butch said.
Toodles was still frowning.
"True, Tom's a jerk, but that didn't give you any right to do what you did. There are better ways to help Tom than by using a ray gun on him. How would you feel if your friends used a ray gun on you and turned you into something that you weren't?"
Tom spoke up.
"Don't be so hard on them, Toodles. They just wanted me to be nicer. I don't blame them one bit." Tom said nicely.
"You don't blame them because you're still under the influence of that ray." Toodles turned to the others, "If you don't find a way to reverse what you did, I'll kill you."
With that, Toodles left angrily, leaving the others by themselves.

At the end of the day, the Tom and Jerry Crew entered their house. The dysfunctional family of five slumped on the seats, tired after such a long day. After a few moments, Tom got up.
"Well, since I'm in such a good mood, I'm going to make everybody some cookies." Tom said.
"COOKIES!" Tyke said.
If there was one thing Tyke loved, it was sugary treats. And chilidogs.
Everyone else just groaned but they said nothing as Tom entered the kitchen. Tyke grabbed a stuffed toy bone and began to bite on it, shaking his head up and down as he did so. Everyone else just continued to slump.
"Toodles is right. We shouldn't have did what we did. What kind of friends are we?" Jerry said.
Butch shook his head.
"But the damage is done and it can't be reversed."
Spike was also frowning.
"But Toodles told us to find a way to change him back. She'll get REALLY upset if we don't. And I don't want to find out what she does when she's really upset. Besides that, I WANT to change him back. Tom's sweetness is starting to give me cavities. I think I'm starting to appreciate the old Tom for who he was." Spike said.
"Yeah. He might have been a jerk and a pain in the neck, but at least he was nice enough to take us in and watch out for us. We should have just been thankful for that instead of using a ray gun on him." Butch said.
Tyke growled as he continued to chew on the chew toy. If he was even listening to this conversation, he wasn't showing any sign of it. He continued to bite the chew-toy, not knowing that a dark figure hiding behind the curtain was watching them. Indeed, the dark figure grinned evilly watching Tyke and the others.
But then, Tyke suddenly smelled something strange. He dropped the chew-toy and started sniffing the air. Evil Jerry paused. It couldn't be. Tyke couldn't have locked on to his scent.
But yes, the dog was smelling something in the air. His eyes narrowed as he started growling.
If that smell was what he thought it was, then it could only mean one thing...
"COOKIES!" Tyke said as he ran after the smell of the sugar cookies that Tom was making.
Evil Human Jerry relaxed. So the pup wasn't on to him. That means he could initiate his plan. Grinning behind a gas mask, the evil figure pushed a button. Suddenly, an ominous green gas started to fill the room. Jerry was the first one to notice the gas.
"Um, what the heck?" Jerry said to himself as he looked at the gas.
Spike noticed the gas and shrugged.
"Maybe Tyke has diarrhea again." he said.
"I just saw him go into the kitchen." Jerry said.
Butch had his eyes narrowed suspiciously. This gas was familiar. He had seen it before. Suddenly, his eyes widened with shock. Of course, he had seen this gas when he was in the military! It was...
"Oh, crud! Knock-out gas!" Butch said.
Suddenly, Spike and Jerry closed their eyes and fell to the floor, passing out. Butch tried to resist it. His mind was telling him to fight it... but his body was telling him that it wanted to take a long nap.
Eventually, Butch's body won the argument and the black cat fell to the floor and passed out. Tom, who was bringing in the cookies on a platter, and fell to the floor, just outside of the kitchen. The cookies fell to the floor. Even Tyke couldn't resist the sleepy gas and he fell to the floor. Eventually, the evil human man walked out from behind the curtain and he grinned behind his gas mask.
Phase One was complete. The Tom and Jerry Crew were right where he wanted them. Time for Phase Two...
XXXXXXX
Several hours later, the Tom and Jerry Crew came to. Tyke was the first one to wake up, and he looked around and saw that he and his father and roommates were trapped in a giant glass cage. There were no doors or openings, no exits, and it looked as if they were being stared at by two evil psychopaths.
Of course, Tyke, being Tyke, paid absolutely no attention to the danger he was in, and he started singing and shouting as if he was still at home.
Of course, Tyke's happy cheering caused the others to stir.
"Ugh... what happened?" Jerry wondered as he shook his head.
"I will happily answer that question for you. I think we fell unconscious when we were exposed to the sleeping gas, and now we've been kidnapped by those two." Tom said, pointing at the evil Tom and Jerry.
Spike groaned.
"Not again."
"Hello, Tom and Jerry. We meet again!" Evil Tom said.
Butch narrowed his eyes.
"What are you talking about? I've never met you before in my life. I think I'd remember ugly faces like yours."
Jerry turned to Butch.
"Remember the evil humans I told you about that were also called 'Tom and Jerry'? This is them."
"Oh." Butch said.
Evil Jerry narrowed his eyes.
"Oh, but we don't call ourselves Tom and Jerry anymore." Evil Jerry said.
"You don't?" Jerry asked.
Evil Human Tom spoke up.
"We used to be known by those names, long ago, but not anymore. Tom and Jerry are standing right in front of us and we hate their guts. And we don't like having the same names as our arch-enemies. So we changed them. No, we're not Tom and Jerry. You can call me Dick."
"And I'm Larry." Evil Jerry said.
"We're the Dick and Larry Crew! And our first order of business is to get rid of our rivals!" Dick said.
"And how to you plan to do that?" Jerry asked, worried.
Larry smiled wickedly.
"By sending you into another dimension, so that you'll be out of our hair for ETERNITY!" Larry said as he pushed a button.
Suddenly, the cage started to glow. First, it glowed with a bright blue color. Then it started to turn white.
"What's happening?!" Butch asked in a panic.
"That cage you're in? It's a dimensional portal that we built in order to get rid of you. Enjoy your trip, wherever you end up, at least we can say that we finally have you out of our hair."
The Tom and Jerry Crew screamed, albeit for different reasons. Jerry screamed in sheer terror, Spike screamed because the bright light blinded him and he couldn't see, Butch screamed because he was getting claustrophobic, Tom screamed because he realized that he left the oven on back at the mansion and that it would probably burn to the ground if it isn't turned off, Tyke screamed because he was just happy.
Eventually, the Tom and Jerry Crew began to fade away until they disappeared for good.
XXXXXXXXX
A portal opened in the sky and the Tom and Jerry Crew plummeted to the ground. They lied there for a moment, disoriented. Then they got up and looked around.
"Where are we?" Jerry asked.
Butch looked around.
"And where's all the color? Everything's black and white." he said.
Indeed, the Tom and Jerry Crew found themselves in a dreary place that had no color at all. Everything was black and white, save for them. It was like watching old television on a B&W TV. There was no color.
They walked forward and gazed at the forest ahead of them. Instead of being brown and green, the trees were all black and white, and even the sky was color-less.
"I don't like it here." Spike said immediately.
Tyke ran to a nearby tree and climbed to the top. No one noticed the little puppy climb all the way up to the tallest branch. Tyke saw a nest and decided to jump in it. But then he was kicked out by a dodo bird. Tyke was kicked into the air and he continued to fall until he landed on a sign. Tyke shook his head and looked at the sign. He smiled and grabbed it with his mouth, dragging it up to the others. Jerry was the first one to notice him.
"Tyke, what is that?" Jerry asked.
Tyke held up a sign that said, 'Welcome to Wackyland'. Below those words, another phrase said 'it CAN happen here.'
Jerry paled.
Butch scratched his head.
"Wackyland? Where's that? It sounds familiar."
"It's in another dimension apparently. If what Dick and Larry said was correct, then we're going to be trapped here for all eternity." Tom said, wearing a frown for the first time since his 'personality change'.
The others gulped.
How were they going to get home now?
- To be continued -
Don't worry. I wouldn't keep you guys waiting for this long and just leave you with ANOTHER cliffhanger. I posted another chapter, and this next chapter will be the conclusion to this whole story arc.
