Kairi closed her eyes, letting off a soft sigh from her lips, which were curled into a contented smile on her sweet face.

The young Princess of Heart was in the one place where she felt the safest she could ever be. There was nowhere in all the worlds she had been to that could make her feel so warm and secure. As long as she was where she was that moment, nothing terrible could ever happen to her. She was perfectly protected from danger and harm.

"You alright, Kairi?"

Hearing the sweet voice which had spoken to her, the redhead lifted her gaze. As her blue eyes opened, they twinkled at the sight of the brunette boy peering down at her. He had wrapped his arms around the girl, holding her tightly in his secure embrace.

"I'm perfectly fine, Sora…" Kairi assured him, sending her smile to her lifelong friend.

"Are you sure?" Sora asked.

"Never better." The young princess snuggled into her hero's arms. "As long as I'm with you, nothing can possibly happen to me."

Sora smiled down hear how safe Kairi felt around him. He locked his arms more firmly around her as he rubbed her back with his gloved hand. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. She was far more beautiful than the sunset that was sinking beyond the ocean - both inside and outside.

"I won't let anything happen to you, Kairi…" he promised, running his fingers through her hair. "Not ever… I promise…"

With her cheeks turning bright red, Kairi rested her head onto Sora's chest. She relished the feeling of his arms around her. They most certainly did make her feel so safe and secure. She knew she could count on her spiky-haired hero to protect her. Whenever he made a promise for the good of others, he never broke it.

As the pair stood on the shore of the small island, the waves lapped gently around the soles of their shoes. They hardly took any notice as they sent their gazes towards one another. Peering up at the taller boy who was taking care of her, Kairi wrapped her arms around his neck. She brought his face down to her own to close the small gap between them - by passionately pressing their lips together. The young couple kissed in the whimsical sunset with all their ever-growing undying feelings for each other.

"I love you, Kairi…"

"I love you too, Sora…"
