The next day, Rin decided to lock herself up for the entire day.
She stared up at the ceiling with a seemingly blank expression on her face as she laid still on the bed. She had no intention to ever leave the room...ever. Maybe if she did that, she could escape from her deal with Len.
That's it. That would definitely solve everything-
Knock Knock
"Rin-chan? Are you awake?" Miki questioned through the door as she knocked on the door. Rin groaned and rolled to her side. "Please go away." She grumbled softly.
"Ah, so you are awake." Miki said. How she was able to hear her, Rin will never know. Rin grunted and buried her face into her pillow. "Rin-chan, its time for breakfast so please get up." Miki sighed and continued knocking on the door.
Rin simply ignored it and closed her eyes as she waited for the knocking to stop. Miki continued knocking for a few more minute before she heard it stop and then there was silence. Rin paused for a moment before she sighed, thinking she can finally have some peace and prepared herself to fall back asleep until-
"Rin, its very rude to ignore Miki like that."
Rin's eyes shot open at the voice and found a very familiar face very close to hers. Rin cried out in surprise and by instinct, she tried jumping away but her limbs were tangled up in the blanket causing her to tumble backwards onto the floor, causing her groan in pain.
Len blinked and stood up before he walked around the bed, over to Rin. "You okay?" He asked. Rin sat up from the floor and glared up at him. "What are you doing in my room?!" Rin exclaimed. "And how the heck did you get into my room?"
"Spare key." Len said as he raised a silvery key in his hand. For a moment, Rin felt a dejavu with this entire scene but mentally shook her head at the thought and just glared at him, this time with slight confusion. "I thought I already took that." She said.
"Well, this is a spare spare key." Len explained and Rin's eye twitched. "Just...how many spare keys do you have- no, don't answer that." Rin suddenly said as soon as she saw Len opening his mouth to say something. "I might find a chest of keys or something like that." She grumbled and Len looked at her with amusement.
Seeing Len's expression, Rin blinked. "Wait...you actually have a chest of spare keys?!" She gaped and Len laughed. "Anyways get dress already. Breakfast will turn cold if you don't get ready soon." He said as he left the room with a soft chuckle.
Rin just stared after him before she sighed heavily. Why did she have to live under the same roof with that guy?
Rin got up and brush the dirt off her form. She really wished Len would stop surprising her like that in the morning. At this point, she might gain a heart attack with seeing his face so clo-
Rin's face suddenly turned bright red as she remembered the little accident that happened in Len's room. Rin began to ruffle her hair in frustration. She has no idea what the heck was going on in her head at the time! What in the world was she doing?! Did she seriously tried to k-k-k-ki-
Rin let out a frustrated groan before stomping to her bathroom. She really needs a nice, hot shower.
"Len-sama, you seem happy today." Miki remarked as she set the table. Len looked up at her. "Hm? Do I?" He wondered. Miki nodded. "You've been humming to yourself for awhile. That and you've been creepily staring at the banana in front of you with a wide grin on your face." She pointed out.
Len glanced back at the said fruit on the table then back at Miki as he smiled sheepishly at her. "Right..." He said as he grabbed the fruit and peeled it. "So are you going to tell me what you're so happy about?" Miki asked. Len smiled up at her. "Oh its nothing big...I'm just excited to finish up our history report that's all." He said.
Miki hummed thoughtfully at that. Len then bit into the fruit and hummed in satisfaction...That was until Miki remarked. "But you know Len-sama, If you continued staring at that banana any longer. I would have to say its inappropriate to imagine such things on the table, especially if you are trying to come out of the closet on your-"
Len chocked at that and coughed violently. He pounded his chest to try and ease the feeling. He coughed one last time and panted before he turned to Miki with a baffled expression on his face. "W-What are you talking about?" He stuttered.
"Well, all I'm saying is that I'm completely fine if you are trying to come out of the closet." Miki said with a huge smile on her face. "I mean, being surrounded by females all the time must be exhausting so if you're going to bat for the 'other' team. I'll support you all the way-"
"Aaaah! Stop! Stop! I get it! I get it already! Enough with the metaphors!" Len exclaimed, clearing freaking out. "Its not like that Miki! I'm only into girls, not guys! And that's final! So don't you dare put me in your fantasies, okay?"
Miki clicked her tongue but then returned to her usual smile. "Alright then." She said before she turned and retreated back to the kitchen. Len sighed heavily. Seriously...
Miki may not look like it but she was secretly a fujoshi* which sometimes freaks Len out since he was often the subject of Miki's BL fantasies. Something which Len tries to ignore. He rather not find out what kind of fantasies Miki has or who she tries 'pair' him off with. The thought brought shivers down his spine.
Len sighed and shook his head. He looked up when he heard footsteps and Rin came to view with an obvious irritated expression. "Well hello sunshine!" Len teased with a large grin. Rin huffed. "Shut up, player." She grumbled as she took a seat across the table.
"So Rin." Len began. "I want to talk to you about our-"
"Len." Rin interrupted. "I don't want you reminding me about our agreement. I get it so you don't have to remind me. All we have to do now is finish this report and that's final, alright?" Rin dismissed, putting up a cool and collective air around herself.
"No, Rin. I wasn't going to mention that." Len corrected. "I was just going to ask what I can do to help finish the essay." Rin paused for a moment and her face colored as she realized her mistake. Len on the other hand, let loose a mischievous grin. "Oh? Are you that conscious about our date? I didn't think you would be thinking about it so much but unfortunately, you'll have to be patient for now." He teased.
"I am not conscious about it and its not a date." Rin groaned as she crossed her arms. She huffed and looked away, indignified while Len continued to snicker. Rin seriously can't believe she actually agreed to go out with this thing for an entire day. It was just unthinkable! But nope, this was for the sake of her grades.
She'll be damned if she ends up failing a single class all because of him and she was not going to let that happen.
Miki soon came out of the kitchen with to plates of food at hand. She paused as she stared at the two and tilted her head. "Am I missing something here?" She questioned as she approached them and set the food in front of them.
"Nope." Rin grumbled. "Nothing at all." Len just continued to smile which irritated Rin even more. She had this urge to wipe that grin off his face but she resisted. Perhaps her irritation today was due to the fact she lacked sleep. The events that happened yesterday stuck to her mind the whole night, causing her to hardly get any sleep.
What the heck was she thinking during the whole time? Was it possible that she lost her mind? Maybe because she knows that she would rather kiss a frog than kiss Len and yet...
Rin gripped her ridiculously large ribbon in her hair and began pulling them in frustration. "Rinny, its not nice to play with your ribbon in front of your food." Len said as he took a bite of his toast. Rin released her poor ribbon and glared at him. She huffed and grabbed her fork as she gobbled down her food.
There was silence between them besides the clicking of tableware against their plates. Miki would occasional glance back and forth at them as she stood at the side. Rin couldn't blame her. After all, with yesterday you can't really expect her to forget about it in an instant.
"Well, I'll be leaving." Len announced as he stood up. Rin looked up at him. "Going already?" She questioned out loud. It was pretty early, even for Len's standard. Len looked back to her and he smiled. "Yeah, I have some stuff to do today remember?" He said. "What? You gonna miss me while I'm gone?"
Rin huffed. "As if. I hope you don't come back at all." She retorted. "How mean, Rin. I live here so I'll come back here and into your warm embrace." He joked while Rin snorted. "In your dreams." She rolled her eyes.
Len laughed and waved. "Well then, I'll see you later bunny-chan." He said as left the dining room. "Don't call me 'bunny-chan'!" Rin yelled and the only response she received was Len's laughter.
Rin leaned back against her seat and sighed heavily as Miki went to clear the table. "Miki, I have a small question.." Rin began and Miki turned to her with a puzzled expression. "Hm? Um okay?" She responded.
"Did I hit my head somewhere yesterday?" Rin asked with a pout. That was the only explanation she could think of for the things that happened yesterday. Otherwise, why else would she do something as crazy as almost ki- err do that with Len.
Miki blinked, looking even more confused. "Um no, I'm pretty sure you haven't hit your head." She said and Rin sighed heavily.
"Right...just ignore what I asked." Rin muttered. "I must be going crazy from the lack of sleep but I really need to finish that project soon." She grumbled as she stood up. "If you need me, I'll just spend the day in my room okay?"
"Um Rin-san..." Miki began. "I've noticed this but haven't you been spending too much time in your room lately?" Rin slowly turned to Miki and tilted her head. "You think so?" She pondered and Miki nodded. "Yeah and honestly, it seems a little unhealthy so how about you go out for today and spend sometime with Hatsune-san or someone?" Miki suggested.
Rin let out a snort. "Me leaving the house? Pffft- not a chance." She said as she moved out of the dining room. "I have too much to study on so I can't leave. Besides who on earth would want to hang out with a bookworm like me?" She said out loud as she was about climb the stairs
As if to answer her question, the front door suddenly swung open and a cheerful voice yelled. "Hey my darlings! The elegant, dazzling, and oh-so gorgeous Hatsune Miku has arrived for your pleasure!"
Rin groaned loudly as she instantly recognized that shrilly voice and turned to the door where a certain teal haired female stood, posing dramatically. This brought another sense of dejavu...something she wished she wasn't experiencing again.
"What are you doing here, Miku?" Rin grunted. "Geez Rin-chan." Miku huffed. "Is this how you greet people in the morning after all the effort they made to try and get here? How rude."
'Says the person who decided to barge in uninvited...' Rin mentally thought. "Just answer the questions so I can go back to my room in silence." Rin grunted.
"Geez, grumpy much." Miku sighed. "i just thought that since we have some free time, I thought I'd stop by and see my adorable bunny-chan." Miku cooed which irritated Rin. Seriously. Why do people keep calling her 'bunny-chan'?
Rin growled at the nickname, not noticing her gravity-defying ribbon was flapping around, emphasizing her annoyance. "Please just go away, Miku." Rin said as she proceeded to climb the stairs.
"Rin-chan! Come on, don't be like that!" Miku exclaimed as she grabbed Rin's arm. "Its our free day! We should hang out together once in a while! How about we go and do some shopping today?" Miku suggested. Rin groaned in response as she tried to wiggle out of her hold. "No, I'm just going to stay in my room and just stay there until some zombie invasion occurs." She grumbled.
"Rin-chan stop being so dramatic! Lately you've be staying in your room all day long ever since you moved in with that...thing so I'm not letting a cute and innocent thing like you be locked up in this demon castle all the time." Miku huffed. "Which reminds me where is the devil lord himself? Is he lurking in the shadows or something?"
"Miku...please stop with the dramatic speech." Rin deadpanned. "He just left. He has 'plans' I guess."
"Oh! That's perfect!" Miku as she then dragged the blond haired female down the stairs towards the door. "Let's go shopping then. I have Kaito and Mikuo waiting at the car so we better get moving."
Rin gaped at her. Didn't Miku say she was alone? Wait, could it be she planned this?
Rin yelled out protests as she struggled. No! Her precious alone time! She had to an essay to do! Lessons to study! Things to do that didn't require shopping! She doesn't want to go!
Rin cried out as she grabbed the edge of the doorway, trying to pull herself in, but apparently, despite Miku's petite appearance, she manage to pull Rin out of the house with an iron grip, causing Rin to leave scratch marks onto the doorway from her failed attempt to escape.
Rin looked back and saw that there was indeed a car. The driver's window was open, revealing a certain blue haired male sitting upfront. He turned to them with a crooked smile, obviously from discomfort. Rin was about to cry out to him for help and question why on earth was he going along with this but she soon noticed his hands were completely tied to the steering wheel. What the-
"No! Let me go!" Rin cried out. She definitely planned this! Miku was definitely planning to force her out of the house whether she liked it or not from the very start!
Miku opened the backdoor of the car and picked the struggling blond haired female up before throwing her into the seat. Rin yelped at the sudden action as she fell face first onto the car seat. She scrambled to get up and looked up, only to come face to face with Mikuo...who was completely tied up like a caterpillar and had duct tape on his mouth.
He struggled and wiggled around, his screams were muffled as he stared back at her with a look that just screams 'Run for your life!'
Rin was shocked. Was Miku kidnapping all of them to shop?! Rin turned back, only for the door to slam in her face. She tried opening the door but it was locked. Rin began slamming her hands onto the window as Miku opened the front door and sat next to Kaito.
"Alright, let's go!" Miku cheered excitedly, oblivious to the atmosphere in the car. Rin frantically pounded on the window in a means to escape. She soon caught a glimpse of Miki peeking at the front door in confusion. "Help me!" She cried as she press herself against the window but Miki blinked before she slowly closed the door, waving goodbye to her. She obviously didn't want to get involve. The traitor!
Rin continued to cry in despair as the car started and drove down the street.
"Oh! This one is cute!" Miku squealed as she grabbed a dress from the store shelf. In Miku's other hand, Rin was pretty much on the ground while being held up by the back of her collar. Rin sighed heavily, making no move to escape as it was impossible once Miku had begun shopping.
At the back, Kaito and Mikuo stood, both holding a tower of boxes and bags as they struggled to keep up with the girls, well a girl and the other being dragged around. Rin knew it was pretty much useless to escape from Miku's iron grip the moment they enter the mall and Rin slumped down in defeat as Miku had already dragged her by the collar.
Rin ignored the numerous stares from the customers as Miku dragged her body like a ragged doll through the store, the boys following. Rin really didn't want to go.
She wasn't overly fond of shopping like Miku was. Rin was more of the 'save for a raining day' kind after what happened in the past but that would be another story, for another time.
"Miku, can't we just go home already?" Rin pleaded, hoping Miku would agree. "Ehh? No! I still want to go shopping." Miku said as she dragged Rin through the store. The boys groaned at that as they wobbled, trying to balance the boxes in their hands.
"But you aren't you satisfied already. I mean look at them!" Rin exclaimed as she pointed to the two males with them. "And besides that you haven't bought anything in this shop for half an hour!" Rin exclaimed.
"I'm still thinking about what to buy." Miku replied. Miku then stopped in front of the shop and gazed around. She then placed a hand on her hip and nodded to herself. "Alright, its decided." She said. "I'll take one of everything in the store!"
"Ehh?!" Rin cried out in disbelief.
BAM!
Kaito and Mikuo were obviously shock with the declaration that they accidentally crashed right into each other, causing the piles and piles of boxes and bags to tumble to the ground. Miku gasped. "Ah! Careful! Some of those are branded!" Miku exclaimed.
"What do you mean one of everything?!" Mikuo yelled irritated, completely ignoring what Miku said. "Just where do you get the money to buy all these junk anyways?"
"Hey! These are not junk." Miku growled as she stomped over to him. ""These are clothes made for fashion. Something you don't understand."
"Just where do get the money to buy all these? Mom and Dad never gave you enough money to do shopping because of your last shopping spree." Mikuo groaned. The last time Miku went shopping like this, their parents threw a fit because of the cost which was pretty much enough to buy a mansion.
Because of that, their parents decided to cut Miku's allowance lesser than usual in order to save themselves from bankruptcy.
"Easy." Miku said as she took out what seem like a pouch. "Most of the money came from your allowance."
"What?!" Mikuo exclaimed in shock as he recognize the pouch and snatched it back. He shook the bag upside down over his hand but only a small 100 yen fell into his hand and Mikuo stared at it in shock. "My money!" He yelled and snapped his head towards Miku in irritation. "I was saving that for a summer trip to the beach! I can't believe you!"
"Hey, its your fault for letting it lay on your desk just begging to be taken." Miku snorted. "I just did what anyone would do and took it."
"A normal person would not take someone's money when its in their room!" Mikuo argued. The two siblings argued and bickered loudly to each other to the point people were staring at them. Kaito and Rin, on the other hand, decided to silently collect the numerous boxes and bags scattered on the ground.
"Sorry about all this, Kaito." Rin sighed as she picked up another box. "Sometimes Miku just doesn't know when to stop acting so...princess-like." She said due to lack of words.
"Its fine Rin." Kaito waved it off. "I'm already used to this and besides this isn't the first time Miku has forced me to join in her crazy shopping sprees." He sighed.
"Just what were you doing before Miku kidnapped you?" Rin questioned curiously. Kaito paused and smiled warily as he sheepishly scratch the back of his head. "Um...Well..."
Flashback
Kaito peeked into the kitchen to see if there was anyone inside...even though he knew his mom was away to a trip before he tip toed into the room in an exaggerated manner.
Today was the day he was finally alone and today he was going to enjoy this day in peace.
Kaito stopped in front of the fridge and opened the freezer. He reached into it and pulled out the most delicious and irresistible treat in the wor- no, the entire universe! Ice cream!
Kaito pumped the frosty treat in the air in victory and praise as his eyes sparkled with tears of joy. For an entire week, he hadn't had the chance to indulge himself with this mouth watering treat because of certain distractions (*cough*Miku*cough*) and now, this was the day he would be reminded just how perfect his favorite snack was! Best of all, it was his favorite vanilla flavored one!
He grabbed a spoon before bolting out of the kitchen with the frozen snack at hand then leap onto the couch. He opened the container and thought that the ice cream was sparkling.
Kaito felt the tears of joy come to his eyes once more as he stared at the treat. Finally. Absolute peace. Kaito scooped a large chunk of ice cream and opened his mouth to take in the sweet when-
BAM!
"Darling! Are you home~?" A familiar high pitched voice sang as the front door opened with a bang and Kaito froze in place. No..No, it can't be.
Kaito rigidly glanced over his shoulder and without a doubt, a certain teal haired female stepping into view with that sweet, cheerful smile he had grown to love...and fear.
Behind her...was his twin brother wrapped up completely with rope and a duct tape was place on his mouth, preventing him from screaming. Mikuo looked at him desperately for help as his sister dragged him by the collar. "Hi Kaito, my honey. Will you be a dear and start your car?" Miku asked sweetly, ignoring the muffled protest from her twin.
Kaito was confused. He placed down his tub of ice cream onto the coffee table and stood up then walked towards them with hesitant steps. "W-Why?" He asked, afraid to find out the answer. Miku grinned widely. "For shopping of course!" She exclaimed. "And you are coming with us!"
Of course, what was he expecting. "Um, I don't think I can go this time Miku." Kaito slowly said. Miku's smile slowly fell and turned to a pout. "Ehh? Why not?"
Kaito sighed before he reluctantly began. "Look Miku...I've been with you all week long and I wanna have some time...alone...if possible." He muttered. Miku's expression turned blank as she stared at him and Kaito couldn't help but feel a cold sweat trail down at the back of his neck. This was not good.
"I-I-I just thought that I could just stay here at home for a little and enjoy some ice cream...And besides that, you have Mikuo with you so there's no need for me to come with you since he's with you!" He quickly pointed out in panic. Mikuo muffled a cry as he looked up at him. His eyes kept yelling 'why are you involving me into this?! You traitor!'
Well, Kaito could definitely ignore the betrayed look on his friend's face. He wasn't going to sacrifice his ice cream time for Mikuo because he'll be damned if he doesn't get his long awaited dessert after all this trouble!
Miku continued to stare at him blank before she gave a shrug. "Alright." She said, shocking the two males. "R-Really?" Kaito said in disbelief. Miku then nodded. "Yeah, I understand and you're right, you do need some alone time since we're always together."
Kaito couldn't believe what he was hearing. That's it? Kaito was honestly expecting Miku to rant and whine or even beat the living daylights out of him for denying her wishes but...this? This was new...
"Um...okay then." Kaito said with uncertainty. "I'll...see you later then?"
Miku nodded before she turned and proceeded to the front door, dragging her struggling twin behind her before closing the door in silence. Kaito stood there in stupor. Was she serious? Was she seriously going to just go without a word?
As unusual and shocking it was...she did and Kaito let out a tense sigh. Well...as long as she wasn't going to complain, it was probably safe...probably.
Kaito walked back to the couch and sat down. He reached for his ice cream tub and salivated at the sight as he grabbed his spoon and dug into the ice cream. Alright, time to ea-
Whack!
A hand suddenly swat at his hands, causing the tub of ice cream to fly out of his hands and into the air. The tub flew to the side, across the room and before Kaito knew it, he heard a splat at the side of the room. Kaito slowly turn to the side, his face going pale as he spotted the tub on the ground, upside down and ice cream spilled onto the carpet.
Kaito gawked. His jaw fell to the ground at the sight of his beloved ice cream completely ruined. Next to him was the culprit who destroyed his happiness in the form of ice cream. Miku stared down at him with an irked expression on her face.
"Did you honestly think I'd just leave you alone just like that?" She questioned with pure irritation. "Don't be naive! You're my boyfriend and therefore boyfriends are suppose to be obedient to their princesses without question got it?"
With that said, Miku grabbed her boyfriend by the collar and proceeded to yank him out of the room. Kaito just stared at his poor ice cream as he was pulled away but not before screaming in horror and absolute despair at his fallen beloved ice cream. "MY AISUUUUUU!"
End of Flashback
Rin sweatdropped as Kaito was literally facing a corner, sulking. "My aisu...My poor, poor aisu." He sobbed quietly as he huddled himself into a ball.
Rin wasn't sure how to comfort the guy and awkwardly began. "Umm, don't worry Kaito. I'm sure you could get a new one." Rin comforted.
"That ice cream wasn't any ordinary ice cream." Kaito said in a monotone voice. "That ice cream was a limited addition vanilla flavored ice cream with marshmallows and bits of nuts in it that blend perfectly with each other that once you get a taste of it they say that you'll die for more and that's not all-"
Rin sweatdropped even more as Kaito rambled on and on about his ice cream, all without look at her and with a monotone voice at that. "Um...Kaito?" Rin called out hesitantly but Kaito continued to sulking in the corner.
Rin wasn't sure what to do at this point as she glanced over to the bickering siblings and then back to the sulking blue haired male next to her. What was she going to do now?
Wait. This could be her chance to escape!
Rin carefully stepped back and another, making sure none of them would notice. She was slowly walking backward until she was sure that no one notice and turned to leave but suddenly she felt an hand grab her arm.
"That's it! You can go carry your own bags! I'm leaving!" Mikuo exclaimed. Rin blinked as she looked back and forth at the siblings. Wha-
"Haaa? You can't just leave! And why are you holding onto Rinny?" Miku angrily said as she glared at her brother. "That's because we are going to leave together!" Mikuo huffed. "I'm not going to stick around with some crazy kidnapping diva anymore! Rin wouldn't want to be here as well! So see ya, little sis."
With that said, Mikuo tugged on Rin's arm and pulled her way from the two. Miku gawked at them before she fumed. "Hey! Don't drag me Rinny with you!"
"Says you! You flat chested diva-san!" Mikuo retorted before he grabbed Rin and dashed into the mall before Miku could even react. Miku gaped at them before she yelled furiously. "MIKUOOO!"
Mikuo just ran faster as soon as he heard his sister scream while Rin could do nothing but be silent as Mikuo made a bee line through the mall while carrying her like a sack.
Why did she have to get involve with the stupidest things like this? Rin just sighed heavily as she drooped like a doll in Mikuo's arms. This was going to be the most tiring day of her entire life.
A/N: O..M..G. Has it really been a year since I last updated this story? Seriously? I...don't even know what to say..
A-Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I hope this will make up for the extremely late update. As you have noticed I made several new stories and combined with old stories that I have yet to update. I'm having trouble writing new chapters for different story since they all have different plots.
So I apologize a lot for the super, super late updates. I can't help it because of the accursed thing called 'Writer's block' and so on. Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a writer because I'm suffering from headaches about of this thing!
Ehem! Anyways I'm kinda busy with stuff in my (so called) social life so it might take sometime before I can update my other stories (lets just pray that I don't update a year later again ehehe ^^;)
Well, that's all for now. Stay tuned to the next chapter okay? Please continue to support me and stories alright now? Ehehe Well see ya my dear readers!
