Claire had just slept with Wesker. WESKER! What was she thinking? Chris would kill her, worse, disown her. She would truly be alone. Was that Wesker's plan? Take advantage of her, and tell Chris about her willingness to betray him? It had only been a couple of minutes since Wesker had left her there, naked and alone, she could go knock on his door and ask him, no force him, to tell her what it all meant. Claire, was however, exhausted from the romp in the bed and decided to sleep it off and hopefully have the guts to talk to him about it in the morning. Feeling an odd combination of satisfied and alone, she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

The following day Claire awoke and was surprised that the clock read 10:09. She had slept that long? She got up and threw on a t-shirt and some gym shorts, and walked out to the kitchen. She wasn't surprised to find that it was empty. Of course, he's working in the labs. He doesn't find this as big of a deal as you do. Claire put a pot of coffee on and made herself a bowl of cereal. She was sitting at the table when she heard what sounded like the garage door open and close again. She tried to call out to Wesker, and when she got no response, she knocked on his lab door. Feeling a sense of dread, she grabbed a chefs knife out of its stand and waited by the door leading to the garage. She cried out when the door opened and out of it emerged… the biggest bouquet of flowers she had ever seen. Stranger still, the person behind the flowers was none other than Wesker. Wesker looked at her, looked at the knife, then back to her and raised an eyebrow. "Expecting someone, Dearheart?" he asked, sounding a little amused. "I just thought you were in your space and then I heard the garage open, and I thought the worst was happening." She said, sounding a little panicked. "I did try calling for you and knocking on your door." She sheepishly added. "Are you experimenting on flowers, in there?" she asked, gesturing to the bouquet he still had in his hands. Wesker looked at her for a moment before he answered. "These are for you, my dear." He handed her the flowers and put his gloved hand on her chin forcing her to look up at him. "I am sorry for rushing out of your quarters last night. I admit I wasn't thinking about how that would make you feel." He placed a quick kiss on her lips. "Know that I didn't leave out of regret, or embarrassment and I hope that you don't feel any of those things, either. I had a wonderful time, and thoroughly enjoyed myself." Claire didn't know what to say. She was overcome with so many emotions at once. Confusion, embarrassment, sadness, but there was one that was more prominent than the others and that was the emotion that caused her to smile a genuine smile, one that hadn't happened in months. The fact that Wesker, WESKER, took the time to drive to the supermarket and pick her up flowers would be ridiculous and one she wouldn't believe if it weren't for it happening right before her eyes.

Wesker was walking towards his office when Claire realized she hadn't even thanked him! "Wesker?" she timidly said. He turned around at the sound of her voice. Claire wasn't sure what to say. Oh, fuck it, She thought and walked over to where Wesker was standing and just put her arms around him. With her cheek to his chest, she inhaled his scent and whispered a thank you. Wesker didn't seem to know what to do but after a few seconds of her standing there with her arms around him, he returned the embrace and rested his chin on her head. "I'm afraid the flowers aren't only an apology for last night, but for tonight as well. I realize I told you we would be able to go out tonight, but I am afraid I will be working all through it. Please don't go through the trouble of preparing me any food today."

Claire was a little sad about not being able to go out tonight, but she remembered she had to prepare a meal for the Werner's tomorrow night. She decided tonight would be a nice relaxing night before she had to deal with those people which she did not like. Claire decided to go back out to the creek and read some more of the book she took out with her yesterday. This summer wasn't as bad as most and in the shade of the creek she found herself cool and comfortable. Right there, with a book in her hand and thoughts of Wesker in her mind, Claire decided she would be okay if things stayed like this for a while.
