Aerrow woke up very warm, despite the cold that surrounded him. He quickly knew the reason. As he looked down, he saw the Blizzarian that was taking care of him, asleep on his chest, her smile from the previous night still over her face. Aerrow gulped a bit, unsure of what to do. 'Alright… clearly she just thought I was… a body pillow or something. That makes… some sense I guess' He gently lifted her from him, a visible blush over his face, his mind filled with mixtures of thoughts ranging from embarrassment to a strange sense of sadness when he removed the woman from himself. As he pried her away and laid her back onto the mass of pillows, he saw her quickly take one of the feather-filled cases into her arms, hugging it tight with a rather surprising whimper, which in turn, fed more thoughts into Aerrow's already estranged mind. He quickly formed an assessment of why she did, deciding that it was simply the sudden loss of shared warmth. He stood, wrapping one of the bunch of loosely laid blankets over her before going to his search of something to eat, walking past his comrade Radarr who had fallen asleep on the card table covered in chips, as he made his way to where he believed the kitchen to be, yawning and lazily running a hand through his disheveled crimson hair.
Suzie awoke with a happy yawn, almost resembling a "mew" as she stretched out where she lay, the relaxing feeling filling her with a happy energy of sorts. She looked to what was in her arms, making her release a small "humph" of displeasure, even though she wasn't sure why she was displeased, her own noise making her raise an eyebrow. "Huh… best lay off the sweets b'fore bedtime, heh, jus' like ma used ta say." She said to herself as she yawned again, letting the pillow free from her arms and standing, barely noticing that the flame haired sky-knight was gone from the room. "Huh… wonder where he wandered off too." She mumbled, rubbing one of her eyes as she continued, her light sleepwear of a loose shirt that hung off of one shoulder and a pair of loose yet comfy sweats keeping her warm as she followed the scent of her new roommate of sorts.
Aerrow had checked the cupboards, and the fridge, multiple times before finally coming across a few slices of a loaf of bread, which he was now happily eating. He felt a strange feeling of guilt or something of the like for just taking food without asking, but, he would have hated to wake Suzy. The image of her sleeping form came up from his memory, he smiled a bit at how peaceful the generally aggressive and competitive woman was when she was sleeping. The image was quickly flushed from his mind by surprise. A little tap on his shoulder caused him to spin around, perhaps a bit too quick, making him loose his balance, reaching out for whatever he could to keep his balance. He grabbed what felt like perhaps a wrist, which, needless to say, was unable to catch him, and, instead of supporting him, tumbled with him, landing atop him. Directly onto his bandaged wounds. Aerrow bit his tongue to avoid screaming in the stinging agonizing pain that rippled through his body, looking down to see that he hand pulled down none other than his host atop himself, who was just as surprised as he was. She seemed to sense what the look on Aerrow's twisted face, a weak smile across it. She quickly stood.
"Sorry! Sorry!" She repeated, covering her mouth with wide eyes. Aerrow coughed and stood up, shaking his head.
"No, heh… it… it was my fault." He stood, leaning against a wall, an arm over his stomach. "Although, heh, the constant sneaking up on me is what makes me jumpy, if you're wondering." He said with a weak chuckle. She grinned nervously nodding.
"I'll err… try to make my presence more known." She said, blushing a tad and holding her arm. Aerrow nodded just as Radarr walked into the kitchen rubbing his eyes with a yawn. He lazily scampered up to Aerrow's shoulder, sitting there as he almost always did. Aerrow looked around the kitchen before making a suggestion.
"Err, I could… make breakfast for all of us if you like Suzy." The offer seemed to further her blush a bit, but, she turned to look out of the room, attempting to hide her face best as she could while responding.
"Are you… are you sure? I mean, you're my guest, I think it would only be right if I took care of you." She said before Aerrow kindly smiled, waving off her suggestion.
"I insist." He said, turning to the stove, turning it on. Suzy quietly accepted defeat, walking over and giving him a peck on the cheek with a little smile, her blush now a bright pink beneath her fur as she smiled in an adorable mixture of happiness and embarrassment.
"That's for making me breakfast in my own home." She said, her voice a bit faint as she walked out of the room, waving before exiting the room, leaving Aerrow to both his cooking and thoughts. Suzy hadn't stayed long enough to see the result of her actions, but, Aerrow stood in his place, frozen in a bit of shock for a moment. He shook himself before regaining his senses, pinching himself to ensure that he wasn't in some strange dreamland. But before he let his mind wander far, he again explained to himself, repeating the words that she said in his mind. "Alright… so it was a thank you kind of thing… nothing more" He told himself, starting on some eggs. He caught something out of the corner of his eye, noticing Radarr sitting on the counter, smirking at him. "Oh, be quiet you…" He said, stirring the eggs while they sizzled in the pan.
A few minutes later, Aerrow saw himself standing over a complete breakfast, which, because of his wondering thoughts, seemed to come more quickly than he figured. He carried the rather hefty meal out to the small card table in the living room like an overburdened waiter, arms laden with several plates. He began to set them in front of himself, a wide mouthed Radarr, and a wide eye Suzy.
"Err…. Isn't this a bit much?" Suzy asked, a bit surprised with the amount of food. Aerrow smiled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well… I kinda… lost track of how much I made, heh, sorry." He sat beside her, piling a portion of sausage, eggs, toast, and some fruit onto a sturdy paper plate, eating quietly. He looked up to his two companions, both of them digging in with a ferocity that he hadn't seen since a sky-shark attack a couple months ago aboard the Condor. He chuckled a bit to himself, as Suzy, thought quickly eating, did so via several small rapid bites, the action proving rather adorable in Aerrow's mind before he shook his head of the thought. A full stomach comforted him, laying down his plate and leaning back against a small pillow pile. Radarr and Suzy continued for a moment beyond Aerrow, emptying the plates into themselves before laying back as well, arms over their satisfied bellies. Aerrow cleared his throat.
"Well, now that we got that out of the way, what's next on the agenda eh?" Aerrow asked, rifling through his hair. Suzy looked to a small clock mounted on the wall.
"Well, first things first, it's time for you to take yer meds." She said, standing and holding out her hand to Aerrow who took it and helped himself to his feet. She led him back to the bathroom, opening a medicine cabinet beside the mirror, taking out two different small bottles. She poured one pill from each, handing over the smaller of the two over first.
"That's the antibiotics." She stated as Aerrow knocked back the pills. She handed over the other one. "An' that's the painkiller." Aerrow gulped the second pill just as quickly as the first. His skin was soon tingly from the influence of the medication.
"Whoa… that's strong stuff isn't it?" He asked, his vision blurring, but, barely noticeable. He saw Suzy smile a bit and nod.
"Yeah, heh, it's a little tougher. But, for a guy who looks like he got gutted from gut to neck, I think you'll need it." Aerrow's vision became slightly more blurred, he almost lost his balance, slinging an arm over Suzy's shoulder for support. She help him up, checking his forehead.
"Whoa! You okay there?" She asked, checking him all over, reaching up under his shirt to feel around his chest, measuring his heartbeat and heat. Aerrow nodded with a grin. He laughed quietly, looking down to suzy, feeling her hand against him.
"Heh… that feels kinda nice." He said, his words almost slurred. Suzy began to help him back to the living room to lay him down. She gently laid him down beside where they had slept, leaving him face up. Aerrow hugged her close in his current drugged state. She blushed a bit as the spiked young man held her in place atop him, letting her lay atop him. Before long, the half asleep and partially not in control Aerrow gently lifted her up to face level, chuckling quietly in his dazed form. He looked over her blush, smiling in a soft yet heartwarming manner. Not that he knew, being currently under the influence of medical substances of which he did not know. After looking her over with that smile, a smile that Suzy knew was meant for her, He pulled her closer, his wiry muscled arms enveloping her smaller frame against his, kissing her cheek happily, nuzzling his face into her neck lazily. "Thanks fer takin' care of me…" He whispered before passing out, arms still wrapped around Suzy. She tried to move, not wanting to squish Aerrow, wanting him to sleep comfortably, but, her efforts where to no avail. She noticed that the opposite had in fact taken place, the arms that held her slowly hugging tighter, almost as to not let her go. Her face burnt in a pink shade as she moved the smallest she possibly could, eventually laying her head on Aerrow's chest again.
"Well… might as well take a nap I s'pose." She said to herself, the only noise in the room besides Aerrow's gentle breathing. She looked up to him from her position, smiling wearily for a moment before slowly rising up, kissing his cheek in return while he slept. Before she joined Aerrow in slumber, she whispered to him.
"That's for making it less lonely around here." She sighed, a sighs of contentment. Again she settled into position, slowly falling asleep with the rhythmic pattern of Aerrow's chest rising and falling escorting her to slumber.
Hey readers. I know, I know, I feel bad for leaving for so long, and every comment or review rather that came through telling me to keep going and not to give up on the stories made me feel more and more guilty till I couldn't stand it. I'm returning with this short chapter, and, I apologize for being gone and not working on this as much as I should have.
