Loki took a long deep breath of the cool air.
The coldness that filled his lungs brought comfort to him. Being back in his Kingdom which he had to come to love dearly. Letting go of the breath he stared out of the window where he was standing to look as the morning started to rise over the newly fallen snow and the servants starting to get to their work.
As he watched a few of them move about Loki heard heard Helbindi's voice from below. Looking down he saw that his brother was running the troops almost two hours earlier than usual. Probably due to the small line of war that threatened to come about.
With a smile he watched them run until they were out of sight. Looking towards another part of the castle he paused when the troops suddenly came back and almost laughed out loud seeing that Helbindi had come back to say good morning to the servant Ali who had on a kind smile and bowed to him kindly before walking away. It seemed some of Helbinei's friends seem to notice the exchange and start to make whooping noises before the commanded them to go back to their run.
Looking over to the castle walls he saw some servants bringing the beats out for a walk, to brush them off and to feed them. Loki counted all of the beats and took noticed that each one had a Royal Family crest on. Three of them. Obviously Loki did not need a beast. After all where would he ride it or let alone feed it? The thing might eat him! However he recognized His Father's beats, he saw both his brothers, however there was one missing.
Where was Bera's beast?
As he continued his watch Loki didn't see any other beast the bore the royal family crest. After a while and all the beasts where out Loki still didn't see another one so he glanced over at his sleeping parents.
His arrival had been two days ago but it seemed they believed something would happen to him so where as Loki choose to sleep at night his parents choose to stay up. At the moment neither should be up but still it was rare that Loki awoke before them so he need not bother them.
His Father stayed on his back with his arm out and the other slung over his eyes. His Bera was resting beside his Father his head using his Father's arm as a pillow while hie backside was pressed up against his mate. They looked peaceful. Calm as they could be.
Loki watched them for a few moments when the marching soon returned. Loki glaceed back at them with Helbindi leading them. A shift caused him to turn just in time to see Bera rolling until he was using Father as a pillow.
Aww.
"LOKI!"
Loki jumped and looked back out the window seeing Helbindi looking up at him with worry on his face. Loki waved at him and Helbindi made a motion that he wanted him to get down from the the window-sail. Oh. Loki smiled at him and ignored his wave by returning it which only made the worrisome increase.
"No, go back inside!"
Loki put his hand to his ear and leaned a little over. Helbindi frantically his hands. "No! Don't lean over! Go back inside!"
"What?"
"Go back inside!"
"What?!"
"GO! BACK! INSIDE!"
Loki got to his knees and leaned far over and almost died laughing seeing Helbindi so flustered but it was quickly ruined by him being swooped up into a large hand. Frowning Loki up at his Father who was now wide awake and he waved at Helbindi who let out a sigh of relief before leaving to get back to his troops.
"That wasn't a very nice thing to do."
"I know."
"But it is still funny," Fárbauti chuckled before walking to the bathroom and letting Loki stand on the sink. "So, what are you do up this early? And more so why is Helbindi up this early?"
"I think he wishes to be ready for the chance of war." Loki said before sitting down looking at the handles of the sink. He still wanted them even though he had moon dust. "I, however, slept well and did not need anymore rest. I did tell you how I rest a half forth night with the humans."
"Ah, I remember." His Father looked into the mirror that showed his mate still sleeping and he grinned at his child."You know I still laugh when I think of how you came home."
"Why?"
"Because I will never forget the look of surprise on your Bera's face nor the jest of him flying back on his throne with only his ankles and feet visible to the court."
"I think Bera would be mad if he heard you say that." Loki said but laughed all the same.
"Yes, I will be."
The two paused looking at the bed where Laufey lay with his eyes closed but he had spoke.
"Ah! It seems we are caught!" Fárbauti said suddenly before scooping up Loki, "Quickly, we must round the room!"
"What?"
"Do not dare that trick.." Laufey peeked one eye open to see them now hiding behind one of the chairs, Loki peeking from the side while his grinning mischievously before he shifted. "No. No... Noo... No!"
Laufey tried to scrambled off the bed but it was too late, his mate was already pouncing on him and dragged him back onto the bed and was wrestled into the middle as he tried to get away and with Loki jumping here and there joining into the attack until Laufey used some magic to toss water playful at them.
"Argh!" Fárbauti fell dead. "Tis the end... farewell my beloveds..."
Loki smiled at his Bera who couldn't hold back his laughter and pushed at the so called dead one trying to remove him from where he laid halfway on him.
"Alright, off you big Ox, I give up." Laufey gave into to the laughs. "Come on, now!"
"Aha!" Fárbauti exclaimed sitting up suddenly. "So, it seems that I have once again won the war."
"Mmm, only for now." Laufey cupped his face. "You woke me up much to earlier. I am still tired."
"As am I."
"Tis because you two stayed up far too long and continued your daily routine without rest." Loki said simply laying over his Father's shoulder. "Perhaps the two of you should rest more?"
"I am keen to the idea."
"Get off, I need to get ready."
"I do not think that your Bera would agree though."
"I do not, now get up and let me get ready." Laufey demanded. "Come on you two, off!"
"I seemed to have bleed out." Fárbauti responded. "Tis such a shame I died so young."
"Do what you will, I am going to go eat something." Loki smiled before jumping off the bed and making some ice stairs to run down. "I shall see you later."
"And how, my child," His father said. "Are you going to get there before it gets cold?"
Loki waved his hands around him crating a nice little crafter to hold onto before sailing on the ice at an amazing speed and soon he was so far gone the other two had to look at each other in stunned. They glanced at each other before back at where Loki had take his leave.
"I did not know he could do that."
"Nor did I." Fárbauti sighed. "Well than, now what shall we do?"
"We should get up and get to our duties... stop playing dead!"
"I have a better idea on what we could do..."
"Don't even think about it... We need to go to court."
"Hm~"
"Fárbauti, no!"
The door closed.
The royals were late to court that day.
Loki sat in the family room with just his brothers as they ate their morning meal. As they did Loki paused looking around. Something was off. Something wasn't right. It was than he noticed a small hidden shadow and Loki nearly choked on his food when it waved on him.
Stupid Balder.
The other two brother glanced at Loki when he let out a huff of air before crossing his arms looking like Bera when he was in a foul mood.
OMG, What's he doing there?!
