They were prepared for War.
With everyone and everything gathering the last of their arms for the upcoming battle. Thor and his friends had a meeting in gathering more of Midgard's warriors. Balder had left to gather his friends from Alfhime. Once they had left the Royal Family gathered to eat a meal together when their Father said that they should go out to eat in the towns where there was delicious food.
They traveled outside to the stables where Loki quickly took interest looking for the Royal beast that would be his Bera's. To his surprise they continued to only bring out three. Helbindie picked him up and climbed onto his beast and their youngest brother got onto his.
Looking over Loki watched as his Father climbed on first before pulled his Bera up behind him and the other looked a bit disappointed. As they headed out Loki was about to ask when Helbindi cover his mouth and shook his head. Confused Loki looked over at Býleistr and his brother shook his head too so Loki waited until he heard his Father chuckle and pushed his beast forward and Laufey cried out for him to slow down.
Helbindi handed Loki over to Býleistr before taking off to join their the rest of their family. Huffing Loki looked up at his brother
"How come Bera doesn't have a beast?"
"He can see that well outside."
"What?"
"The poison that stopped Bera from having children also caused harm to his eyes. When they had attacked years ago Bera had shown his original eyes. You have seen them have you not?"
"I have." Loki nodded. "Well, only in the memories."
"Yes, well that is how he worn them years after the war and then after he began to notice that his eyes were getting worse. A healer healed as much as she could but it wasn't enough. So Bera's red eyes are the best he can see through."
"Such a hard life for someone as kind as Bera." Loki mused leaned back. "Tis unfair."
"Indeed. Now hold on or they shall leave without us!" Býleistr laughed kicking his heels and the beast ran forward. "Onward!"
Loki threw his arms out as they raced as if they were on the wind.
Once they family had steeled on a place to eat and they had chosen to eat outside on a nice table and their guards and warriors that had come with them spread out blending in with the Jotun people and some in the kitchen watching what was being prepared for the Royal family seemed awfully calm and talked amongst themselves and telling old stories to Loki that he found enjoyable.
They all had their drinks and were laughing as Helbindi finished his story about how both he and Býleistr pulled a prank on their swords training teach.
"I never saw some so mad!" Helbindi laughed. "He chased up high and low before running out of breath!"
"You two were terrible." Loki laughed before looking at his Bera who was smiling. "How did you handle them?"
"I grounded them most of the time." Laufey laughed. "It never worked."
"I told them once I would call an Asier."
They paused when a Jotun came over smiling and set down their food. The other was beautiful. Loki noticed all his family but Býleistr had thanked him. This Jotun had hair as white as the snow that looking very light and fluffy and was pulled back into a large soft braid that had bright blue crystal beads and jewels in them and he recognized that his brother, Býleistr, was staring at this Jotun with his mouth opened and couldn't even get a grab on his words.
Once the other Jotun left Helbindi smacked Býleistr upside the head. "Say something you fool."
"I was trying!" Býleistr glared as his brother before hiding his face. "Every single time I see Ran I forget myself!"
"I do not see why," Laufey said taking another drink. "You have been longing for him since you came of age."
"What?" Loki looked surprised before looking at his brother. "That long and you have not said anything? At all?"
"None." The youngest admitted. "Every time I see him my tongue turns to stone."
"Just go say hello." Fárbauti encouraged. "Look he is getting ready to leave his work and is changing his fur."
They watched as Rᾶn took off the shoulder cloth he wore when severing and pulled a white snow fur over his shoulders with a strap that crossed over his chest before folding the cloth he had used when severing and was talking to another Jotun that he was leaving for the market and would return later for the evening shift.
"Go on!" Loki pushed the youngest arm. "Hurry. Just go and say hello! You are a Prince, he will talk with you!"
"Yes, just say hello. Just say hello." Býleistr muttered to himself before walking over to the small Jotun who was packing his things into a satchel before turning around and smiled at him. Býleistr frozen just standing there and when Rᾶn greeted him Býleistr reacted. "I watched you undress!"
Horrified.
Býleistr was purely horrified and his mouth hung over as Ran stared at him with wide eyes and he blinked once, twice, before the other cleared his throat and looked away almost as if asking himself if the Prince had really said what he had said before the other backed up a few feet and excused himself.
Still in shock Býleistr turned to his family and they all stared at him in silence. No one moved or said a thing until Helbindi roared with laughter and soon the other three joined in. Embarrassed Býleistr went back to his seat and covered his head.
A few minutes later they tried to comfort him and soon even Býleistr had to laugh at himself because Loki had summoned up a reaction of their awkward introduction. The family ate their food before Loki easily slipped away from them a moment later to follow the other Jotun.
It was simple enough to use his magic to get into the bag that Ran held and Loki watched from the part of the bag as they headed into the market. A basket was picked up before various things where put into it like fruits, sweets, meats among other things.
Soon the basket was being filled and a large fruit was placed in and kept falling out. Ran kept putting into back in before Loki grabbed onto it.
"I shall hold it for you."
Ran yelped dropping his basket and falling down not expecting the small born Prince to be in his bag and gasped eyes wide before Ran hurried onto his knees move the bag around and opened it to see Prince Loki tossed about.
"My Prince!" cried the white haired Jotun picked the other up and setting him to rights. "Are you alright?"
"Yes." Loki huffed straightening his clothing. To be honest he had not seeing that happening. "I am well and my thanks for the free ride."
"I did not notice you… I am truly sorry."
"Tis nothing Ran, I just wished to speak with you."
"With me? What is it do you desire?"
"Well, my brother-"
"YOU LOST HIM FRABAUTI…!
"Twas not I!"
Loki paused before tugging at Rᾶn's fur. "Perhaps we should head back before my Bera skins my Father alive."
Ran could only follow in confusion and wondered by the small born Prince was snickering the whole way back.
Loki just wanted to help Laufey. lol.
To Okumura-Ichigo: I explained what happened in an earlier chapter. It was where Fenrir could understand that Loki was under mind control at the time. It also explains what happened after.
