A/N: I may go back and finish up the rest of the liper week prompts. A little fix from the angst fest of the last one. Liper is the only pair where fluff is so so so easy.
Rain
Piper hates rainy days. Nature seemed to enjoy to mock her on her worst days. A storm brew when her father sat her down, took her hands, and broke the news about her mother leaving. Dark clouds rolled over the blue skies of LA before pouring on the day she left for the Wilderness school, taking her away from all her friends. The sky cried for three days straight when Jason and her broke up. Piper resented the rain.
"Fuck…" Leo swore as he gazed up as a distant boom rumbled through the air. Tiny pelts of water started falling, pattering against the cloth cover of the restaurant. Piper laughed at his reaction, holding her hand out to catch the rain. Leo gave her a side glare before arching his eyebrow. "And here I was gonna be gentlemanly and offer you my coat." Piper glanced down at her dress, a lacy red number. The rain would destroy it. "I'm reconsidering…"
"Well I'm reconsidering our relationship…" Piper countered as she crossed her arms. Leo quickly stripped his brown coat off and draped it graciously over her shoulders. He held the edge and tugged her closer until she invaded his space. Leo's cologne tickled her nose. She smiled at the warm cinnamon scent.
"Did I ever tell you, you're evil?" Leo asked, smirking fondly. Piper stood on her tiptoes, pressing her lips against his. She could feel his smile grow against her lips.
"Only every other day, love." She replied, pulling back and adjusting her new coat. It was warm from Leo's body heat and felt like a hug. The sleeves fell to her fingertips. She grabbed his arm and tugged the boy out from the shelter, towards the park. "Let's take the long way home today." Leo allowed himself to be dragged, used to being manhandled by the petite girl. He laced their hands together, squeezing hers. Piper smiled up at him and giggled when he flinched from a fat raindrop landing on his face.
"If I get sick," Leo warned. Piper rolled her eyes as she squeezed his arm.
"Please, we know I'm the more annoying sick one." Piper countered with a sly grin. Leo stopped. She could see the gears turning in his head before sighing deeply.
"Yeah, you are." He agreed before laughing when Piper tried to punch him. A loud rumble interrupted the couple before the light sprinkle turned to a full on slaughter of rain. Leo's navy dress shirt grew darker from the water. It stuck to his lean frame, outlining his pecs and flat stomach. "Ugh, come on, we'll take shelter." Leo said as he tugged Piper towards a huge tree. He ruffled his hair, running his fingers through his dark locks. "Gah, my hair is sticking to the back of my neck. I look like a drown rat."
Leo's messy curls flatted over his amber eyes before he swept it out of his face. A droplet trailed down his temple over his tanned cheeks through the scruff on his chin. Leo grew a bit, about five inches taller than Piper. He wasn't the same scrawny boy she met at Wilderness school. Piper's pulse raced seeing him like this, feeling a fire in the pit of her stomach.
"Well, you're a very handsome drown rat." Piper complimented as she resisted the urge to jump him. They were in a public park. To distract her, Piper turned to look at the park and slipped her hands into the pockets of his jacket. Her eyes widen as her fingers curled around a small velvet box. Her heart leapt to her throat. "Leo…"
"Fuck." He cursed behind her. "I should have known you would find it this way." Piper could only hear her heart pounding violently against her chest. She turned, feeling her heels sink into the mud. Leo was on one knee, getting the nicest pair of pants he owned covered in mud. He held out his hand with a sincere smile tugging at his lips. "Piper, I'm gonna need the ring -"
"YES!" She cried launching herself into his arms. She hugged his neck tightly as he caught her, not caring if her dress was ruined. Leo laughed against her neck before pulling back. His amber eyes sparkled with happiness.
"Piper, I had a whole speech and everything." He laughed, twisting his hand through her hair. She smiled at him, shoving the ring box into his hand.
"I don't care, just put that ring on my finger!" Piper shouted back. Her cheeks hurt from smiling widely. Leo shook his head but slide the simple handcrafted ring on her finger.
Now Piper doesn't really mind rainy days anymore.
