SpongeBob is 33. He still lives in the same run-down town hanging with the same run-down people. Fifteen years at the Krusty Krab with horrible pay, antagonizing coworkers, and no direction. He's dug himself a hole and wants out. But what does a fry cook do to make a better life for himself? Does he finally gain the courage to drive at life's wheel? Or does he get run over?

Spongebob and Patrick are, once again, tasked with leaving the ocean for Shell City. However, unlike last time, they may not come home.

It's been years since the war. So many faces have become mere memories. But she came back.

Plankton is determined to come up with a new plan to defeat the Krusty Krab, but he must be careful not to go too far and risk turning Bikini Bottom into a wasteland. Many months pass by and it becomes obvious that Squidward has no intention of finding new employment, instead becoming completely dependent on SpongeBob and turning him into a manservant of sorts. At this point, SpongeBob begins to lose his patience to point where he is gonna do something drastic that will change people's lives forever.
