A/N: Writing this story is like flying blind; unsure what the hell I'm doing and no idea where I'm going. Here's to hoping that I don't crash into a metaphorical mountain. Feel free to send me ideas on a particular direction you want to see this story go. Also, I think it's important to note my perseverance to finish this damn story.
Shay's POV
"Hey babe, are you almost done on set yet?" I ask Troian as I'm walking to my car. I just got done at the gym and was hoping for a bit of quality cuddling time with my girlfriend when I got home.
"I'm not entirely sure to be honest. We were scheduled to be done within the next hour, but the director isn't entirely satisfied with the takes we've already done. I have a feeling we'll be here for another hour or two." I could hear the beginning of frustration in her voice, and how tired she was getting.
"Aw, I'm sorry baby. Hopefully, he'll get what he's looking for so that you all can get out of there. I was hoping you'll come to mine so we can have a night in cuddling on the couch with a major marvel binge watch."
"And this is why I love you. You're ridiculously perfect. Who would say no to a night in with you?"
"Well there's only one person I want to spend every night with. She's kinda hot."
"Oh really? Do I need to exchange words with this person?" I could hear the smirk in her voice and I had to bite my lip at the image.
"Baby, I keep telling you to poke those voices inside of your head with a q-tip. It's not healthy to talk to yourself. At least not in public." I respond with a laugh.
"Haha, you got jokes. Alright babe, they're calling us back. Let me knock this out so that I can come back to you as soon as possible yeah?"
"I couldn't agree more. Have fun. I'll see you soon."
"Definitely. Bye baby."
"Bye darlin'." Ending the call with the biggest smile. Which always happens when I talk to Troian. Or think about Troian. Or hear her voice. Anytime really.
Troian's POV
"Can I have 2 iced coffees, one caramel with the drizzle inside the cup, and the other vanilla with a shot of espresso." I ask the barista after stepping up to the counter at the coffee shop. I'm just leaving work, and I'm in desperate need of caffeine.
"Of course, we'll have those out in just a minute. Can I get anything else for you today?"
"Um, can I also get a raspberry scone?"
"Sure thing." She says with a smile and rings me up. After paying, I step to the end of the counter to wait for the drinks and pastry.
I absently look at my phone and notice that Shay just texted me.
From -Shay, 6:40pm "Hey, babe! Where are you? Are you about done for the day? I'm thinking we could order in for dinner. I miss you."
Just reading the simple message makes me smile. God I'm so exhausted. I've been busy filming all week, and I feel like I haven't seen Shay in twice as long even though half of my scenes are with her. I've been thinking more and more about how quickly she became so important to me. She's literally everything I never thought I'd find when I initially accepted this job and came back to LA. For something as temporary as an acting gig, no matter how much attention it's been getting, when I think of Shay, I think of something more permanent.
It's ridiculously soon, but I'm confident that I've found the person I want to watch sunsets and sunrises with for as long as I'm graced with being able to watch her fall asleep and wake up. We've been together for 6 months, and I'm planning to ask her to officially move in with me. Ashley says that we've been living together since day one seeing as how we never like to spend the night away from each other. She's not entirely wrong, but I don't want there to be anymore 'her house' or 'my house'. She's home. So caught up in my thoughts, I forgot to even respond.
To -Shay, 6:42pm "Hey love, I was just picking us up some coffees. I should be on my way soon. I also got you one of those scones that you like so much. I miss you too."
"Miss? 2 iced coffees, caramel and vanilla with a raspberry scone?" The barista speaks up getting my attention.
"Yes! Thank you very much." I say reaching out for the drink carrier
"No problem, have a nice day."
"You too." I respond with a smile, before turning and heading out the door. I look back down to my phone as I walk to my car parked right outside to see that Shay is calling me now instead.
"Do you think it's too early for us to move in together?" She asks out of the blue. I freeze for half a second before responding.
"I don't think we're on a set timeline babe. We've kind of just done things as we feel ready for them don't you think?" I respond as honestly as I can without giving away too much of my excitement.
"Yeah, you're right. I guess the question should be, do you feel ready to move in together?" She asks shyly. I can hear that lip getting tugged between her teeth.
"Seriously? Baby, I would've been living with you since that first sleepover if I had an honest say in the matter. I've known that we were supposed to be together always since I first laid eyes on you it feels like." Well, I escalated that quickly...
It's quiet for a moment before she lets out a whispy, "really?"
"Shay seriously? Yes! You know what I'm almost home, we really should be having this conversation in person."
"You're right. Okay, sorry, I don't even know where this came from."
"Don't be sorry baby, I'll see you in 2 minutes okay?"
"Alright, see you soon babe." And as we hang up, I'm pulling into a spot right in front. I try to shake off my nerves as I walk in. Shay, having heard the door, comes to greet me with an almost nervous smile and a kiss. As we pull away, she pulls me further into the house towards the living room where we both plop down with coffees and scone unceremoniously dropped onto the table completely forgotten.
"So…" Shay starts with a bite to her lip as does when she's nervous. Can she stop being sexy long enough for me to form a coherent thought?
"Okay, wait stop." I interrupt before we get way too awkward when I can just solve this so simply. Shay meanwhile looks like I just told her that her breath stinks. It doesn't, I'm just saying… Shut up brain, focus. I turn more towards Shay, and taking both of her hands in mine, I take a deep breath.
"Shay, after 6 months of kinda sorta basically living together, and having the best time of our lives, do you want to turn kinda sorta into the real thing and move in together?" I say in one long deep breath and then immediately closing my mouth before I puke. Or pass out. Or blurt out a proposal. I don't know which, but if her wide-eyed expression is anything to go by, it might be the first two.
"Wow, we're really talking about this for real now."
"Wait, what do you mean? You brought it up!"
"No, no. I know! My mouth was moving faster than my brain, and it's just now catching up and registering the situation."
"So… I don't know if there was an answer to my question in there somewhere?"
"Oh! Of course I'll move in with you! As if I would have said anything else. Oh my god! I can't believe we're going to be living together. Like for real. Oh my god!" She says with increasing excitement that peaks with her jumping towards me and wrapping her arms around my neck. I laugh out loud at her reaction, returning the embrace around her waist.
A/N: Alright, it's taking me a ridiculously long time to finish this story. And quite frankly it's annoying. But dammit, I shall prevail! You guys can hate me later in the comments for leaving you hanging. Anyways, seeing this email notification should be a nice surprise. Short chapter I know, but this took me how many months I don't even know. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all you lovely people.
