Out of the few characters I had left, Yen'fay was the only one left who I had trouble thinking of a voice for. Hopefully this will hold you over to my more premeditated stuff.
"...Wait, where did you come from?" Robin asked the swordsman.
"You summoned me." Yen'fay responded.
"But you...disappeared after the war." Robin said. He pulled out a piece of paper. "This is from the wiki- 'Yen'fay vanished like the mist, never to be seen again. Some say he returned to the Outrealm whence he came, but none were able to witness the great swordsman's departure.'"
"...What is a wiki?" Yen'fay asked.
"Well, I suppose it's from the game, but I got it off of the wiki." Robin continued. "Point is, you haven't been around. Why did you come back now?"
"Because you summoned me." He repeated.
"I don't even know how I got in contact with you." Robin admitted. "I'm sure I meant to but, if you were in the Outrealm, it was probably impossible."
"My exile was self-imposed." Yen'fay responded. "However, given that we appear not to be in any wars, this must be important. What is the dire issue that you need to inform me of?"
Robin sat there in an awkward silence as Yen'fay patiently waited for him to explain.
"..." Robin fidgeted.
"..." Yen'fay coughed.
"...You're...You're from Lucina's future, right?" Robin asked awkwardly.
"Yes." Yen'fay responded. "Is that why you summoned me? Lucina wishes to meet with all of those from her timeline?"
"No." Robin responded. "I was just curious. I suppose that explains why Saysa doesn't have a future child, given your backstory."
"...Say'ri. You speak of Say'ri." Yen'fay commented. "Why did you say her name so strangely?"
"I think it's a running gag." Robin responded. "Anyway, how is she?"
"That did not answer my…" Yen'fay sighed. "Say'ri is fine. I took a chance to visit her in Chon'sin before I came here."
"That's...pretty out of the way." Robin commented.
"I have my ways." Yen'fay simply responded, then continued his story before Robin could reply. "Say'ri is fine. She is watching over our homeland with the grace and command I would expect from her." He paused. "...What do you make of...Kellem?"
"Kellem?" Robin asked. "You mean the Shepherd Kellem?"
"Is there any other?" Yen'fay responded.
"I would assume." Robin responded. "How do I know if 'Kellem' is a common name around here? Amnesia, remember?"
"I wouldn't know." Yen'fay responded.
"Right, you were late to the game." Robin commented. "Anyway, Kellem's great! He's nice, sometimes useful, has a bit of a sad wit to him. He's easy to overlook, and uses that to his advantage...Great might not be the best word. Why do you ask?"
"I...saw him in Chon'sin." Yen'fay replied.
"Now, why would he be in Chon'sin?" Robin thought out loud. "He said he was going to walk the land, messing with people. However, he could get all his kicks messing with people in Ylisse, so no reason to make the trip." He paused. "Unless...he was making the trip to-"
"I believe he is romantically seeing my sister." Yen'fay interrupted Robin.
"Hey!" Robin exclaimed angrily. "I wanted to figure it out on my own! I'm a master tactician!"
"I did not wish to sit through your deduction." Yen'fay responded.
"I already figured it out." Robin commented.
Yen'fay raised an eyebrow. "How so?"
"I was explaining how." Robin responded.
"...You are smarter than you let on." Yen'fay commented.
"I'm exactly as smart as I let on to be." Robin said. "I think faster than I let on."
"If you had already figured it out, why did you feel the need to explain it?" Yen'fay asked.
"Well, what good is keeping stuff in your head if nobody can see it?" Robin smirked.
Yen'fay wasn't sure how to respond to that, so he decided to change the subject. "...Can I trust the knight around my sister?"
"I don't know if Kellem is a knight." Robin commented, as he opened up his desk draw. "I should check the wiki…"
"I question his character, not his rank." Yen'fay clarified.
"Oh." Robin said. "Well, you're good, then. He's a good guy. Quiet. Nice. Probably hung like a racehorse. Your sister's in good hands."
"...I assume that is the most reassuring you can be." Yen'fay sighed. "You never told me why you summoned me here."
"Oh yeah." Robin said. "You're fired."
"...And?" Yen'fay asked.
"That's it." Robin clarified. "You are no longer part of the Shepherds."
"I was never part of your group." Yen'fay responded. "I swore my blade to my sister. I help you out by extension."
"Yeah, well, we no longer need the blade of you or your sister." Robin replied.
"I was also under the impression that Say'ri was not a member of the Shepherds." Yen'fay elaborated.
"I don't really know if she was." Robin responded. "I'm starting to realize that dedication to our group varies from person to person."
"Would it not be easier to just assume nobody cares?" Yen'fay asked.
"Maybe, but where's the fun in that?" Robin asked.
"...You are a strange man." Yen'fay said. "This was still a waste of my time."
"Did you have to travel far from wherever in the Outrealm you were?" Robin asked.
"...I may have spent my time at the beach one." Yen'fay admitted.
"I was going to ask you about that tan." Robin commented. "Well, go do whatever you do with your time. I don't really care."
Yen'fay nodded, and left Robin's office.
"...I would have told him his armor was stupid, but he actually terrifies me." Robin admitted. "He's too quiet. Who know's what he's up to…"
Only one more before what can best be described as the closure. If you want a hint on what the last main part of the story is going to be like, look up "Ex-Men: Magneto" from The Pete Holmes Show. That series is what this story was based off of, so naturally it reflects how I'm going to end it.
Also, one review asked if I was going to do a Q&A after, which seems like a fun idea. I assume they meant character Q&A, but I'll also answer any questions. The character ones will be more fun to write, however. I would kinda see it as more of a "question/prompt" situation.
Also, one of the fics that I think I will spin-off out of this is a short collection of stories revolving around Robin/Lucina. I've only really dabbled in relationship writing, so it could be fun. It's going to be a part of this continuity, as will most of my Fire Emblem related stuff, so look out for that.
Up next: Priam!
