Chapter 5: Reading between the Lines
"Merlin?"
"Why haven't you said anything? You are coming aren't you?"
"No. Don't really fancy it."
"I'm insulted Arthur. You really need to ask?"
"You don't have a choice Merlin."
"I had to ask. Even though you're an idiot, you're meant to follow me anywhere."
"Ok." Then a moment to get up and a quick flash of a grin.
"Really Arthur, I knew that already. You don't need to look behind you to know that I will be there. I'd never be anywhere else."
An answering smile.
"Thank you."
Some things never need to be said aloud to be understood.
