After a long day of work, Agunimon and Lobomon had decided to enjoy a few minutes of rest. Sitting on the entrance steps, the two passed the time with idle chat and watched the sunset. With how busy things had been since they brought Lowemon back, they had been rushing around for most of the day. Both of them needed to cool down before they did anything else.
In hindsight, they should have known something would disrupt their peace and quiet.
"Excuse me," someone said.
Agunimon looked over his shoulder to see Shoutmon standing there.
"Need something?"
"Harpymon wants to talk to you two."
Groaning, Agunimon ran his hand through his hair. "Oh, great. What did we do?"
"She didn't really say much. Just that she wanted to talk. She's waiting in the meeting room."
With a sigh, Lobomon stood up. "Well, let's get this over with. The sooner we finish speaking with her, the quicker we can resume our break."
"I just don't want to get yelled at again."
"I know the feeling."
They headed inside, dreading having to speak to Harpymon. It was rare to be called for a one-on-one talk (or, in their case, one-on-two) with Harpymon. Usually it was only when one of the members did something wrong and needed to be reprimanded or punished. Considering the fact that they had been working all day, Agunimon couldn't think of anything they could've done to make Harpymon mad.
Shoving the doors to the meeting room open revealed Harpymon standing there with a displeased look on her face.
"What is it? Something come up?" Agunimon asked. "I don't think I've done anything bad lately."
"It's about Lowemon."
Agunimon folded his arms. "Yeah, what about him?"
"Have you told him yet?"
Shoulders drooping, Agunimon stared at Harpymon with widened eyes. The last thing he had been expecting was for her to bring that up. It had been two days since Lowemon had woken up, but they hadn't found a way to explain to him about everything that had happened to him. The subject wasn't exactly the easiest thing to talk about. It wasn't something they wanted to talk about.
"Um…I have no idea what you're talking about…?"
"Don't play stupid, Agunimon. Have either of you told him yet or not?" Harpymon demanded, annoyed.
Lobomon huffed. "No, we haven't."
"And why have you not told him?"
"Because we didn't want to," Agunimon said. "How are we supposed to explain it to him? Just waltz up to him and go, 'By the way, you turned evil and almost killed us!'? How do you think he'd feel if we told him?"
"You think that it's better to let him find out on his own? How would you feel if someone kept information like that from you?"
"I-I…guess I'd feel pretty bad," Agunimon muttered.
Lobomon glanced off to the side. "That still leaves the issue of actually explaining to him."
Shaking her head, Harpymon made her way around the table. "Where is he right now? You two need to go talk to him."
"Uh…he's probably still going through old reports."
Stopping in her tracks, Harpymon looked at Agunimon with an incredulous expression. "You're letting him go through reports?"
"Well, yeah. What's wrong with—" He trailed off mid-sentence, his eyes widening. "Oh. Oh, no."

Going through reports was a tedious task. Four stacks of papers lined the left side of the desk, while those that had been sorted were placed in folders and placed into cubbyholes. Lowemon had barely made any progress over the past hour because he would have to go back to put more papers into the folders he had already put up. It certainly wasn't what Lowemon imagined doing while he recuperated. Lobomon was supposed to be the one doing it, yet he and Agunimon had decided it would be better for Lowemon to do it. Lowemon had said he wanted to do something productive, but sorting papers was not what he had meant.
"Have they not been sorting these lately?" He grumbled. "What in the world could have happened to keep them from doing something that should be easy?"
Grabbing a paper from the top of one of the stacks, he sighed. There was no point in complaining about it. If he didn't do it, it wouldn't get done for a while.
He looked down at the paper and frowned, his eyes catching his name. Reading it over, he found himself vaguely remembering the mission. Agunimon and Lobomon had said that he had been wounded during his last mission. How he could've been unconscious for so long from the mission made him curious. He trusted the word of his friends, though.
He paused when he spotted the word "captured". Rereading the report, he found himself frowning.
Lowemon has been captured by the enemy.
That…couldn't be right, could it? Pushing it aside, he grabbed a handful of papers and began to read through them. By the time he had read through them, he found himself holding his head his hands. None of it was true, was it? This had to be some sort of joke, a prank that Agunimon was pulling on him. Surely his best friends wouldn't just lie to him.
Would they?
The sound of rapid footsteps from the hallway made him look up in time to see the door fly open.
"Lowemon—!" Agunimon exclaimed, only to clamp his mouth shut upon seeing Lowemon's face.
Expression changing to anger, Lowemon grabbed the various pages and marched up to the warrior. He shoved the handful of reports into Agunimon's face, snarling.
"What is all this? Why did you keep this from me?"
"Just calm down for a sec—"
"I am not going to calm down!" Lowemon roared. "You lied to me!"
Lobomon and Harpymon had arrived by then. Lobomon looked unsure of what to say to the angered Digimon. Harpymon, on the other hand, was irked by Lowemon's reaction.
"That is enough. Give him a chance to explain himself."
"He wouldn't have to if he had told the truth in the first place."
"Why are you so mad?" Agunimon asked, eyes wide.
"Because I hurt innocent Digimon! I hurt you!"
Breathing heavily, Lowemon covered his face with his hand and lowered his head. Agunimon reached forward to grab him, only to hesitate and lower his hand. Rubbing his arm, Agunimon bit his lip and tried to think of what to say. How was he supposed to comfort his friend after that? None of it had been his fault, but it seemed like he was dead set on blaming himself. Was there even a way to convince him otherwise?
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "It's just…"
"We didn't know how to tell you," Lobomon interrupted. "We couldn't even bring ourselves to try. After everything you had been through, we thought it would be best if you didn't know."
There was no reply. Lowemon simply hunched over. Stepping forward, Agunimon gently grasped Lowemon's wrist. This made Lowemon look up, the guilt he felt visible. Agunimon pulled him forward, wrapping his arms around him in a sudden hug.
"I'm so sorry, Lowemon. Please forgive us."
Lowemon returned the hug.
