"You may be the Once and Future King, but you are such a cabbage-head!"
Arthur stared in shock, but Merlin wasn't finished.
"When have I ever done something simply because I was expected to? You know that I never do as I'm told. Also, do you have any idea how many times I've heard you condemn magic? The day your father died I honestly believed it would have taken a miracle for you to accept me and what I can do."
Merlin stared determinedly at Arthur.
"Sire, if it was only about the magic, I would have left that day."
