Author's note: The finale, plus falling into a few new fandoms, essentially slaughtered my muse. However, I have recently had the desire to rewatch the show, and I will attempt to put up a drabble or two for each episode as I go along. It will definitely take a while. Chapter 76: New Beginnings
An execution.
Just what he wanted to see on his first day in a new city.
Not for the first time, Merlin questioned the wisdom of coming into the heart of Camelot in order to prevent attracting any attention. But his mother had never been wrong yet, so no use worrying. He'd just try to be careful.
And so what if he could somehow sense the witch swearing revenge was not just making an idle threat? Trouble was certainly coming, but there was no use worrying about that either.
After all, it had nothing to do with him did it?
