Chapter 11

The three blades clashed together as Shabriri's lion's head blade contacted Raph's blade made of light the two bounced off each other but when it contacted the shadow blade the two blades looked as if they were having their own battle of who's power of darkness was better. Sliding backwards Shabriri raised the blade and placed it outwards in front of himself. Gripping his blade tighter Shabriri stood there blocking each and every attack Raph threw at him. Never moving Shabriri stood there staring at Raph. Raph focusing solely on Shabriri rather than Shabriri's blade, a small smile under the cloth grew bigger and bigger as Raph threw all his strength into each and every attack. Finally, when Shabriri could feel his blade's strength grow to the point it started to radiate a strong black aura Shabriri placed his hand out and sent Raph flying backwards onto his back. Raph stood back up just in to see Shabriri turn his blade to its side/

Touching the blade itself Raph turned and watched the blade started to curve and the handle extend itself. Now a large scythe larger than Shabriri himself laid against his shoulder with the blade behind him. Adjusting his grip on the two swords Raph let out a battle roar and changed once again at Shabriri.

Different this time Shabriri raised his scythe above his head and without a second thought turned and sliced down at the sleeping Leonardo.

"No!" Raph screamed out his eyes widening as he finally understood what Shabriri was doing.

To turn his blade into its true self both light and darkness needed to become one. Leonardo and Shabriri are the same person but one was light and one was darkness. As the blade came down onto Leonardo a strong bright light appeared pushing everyone that was near far away. Raph with all his strength push the blades into the ground to hold himself.

As the light dimmed Raph turned to see the tree broke apart and floating overhead of both himself and Shabriri was an elderly man with slick back black hair and black eyes.

"Yoake." Raph muttered under his breath.

Yoake was a gentleman and was dressed up in a dark navy-blue suit and shoes, white dress shirt, purple tie and long black coat with the tail falling just to his knees. Yoake had a silver ring with a large purple stone on his left middle finger and walked with a dark brown cane that had a silver tip at the bottom and a silver sickle handle.

Looking around Yoake raised his hand, Castiel, Zachriel, and Ariel floated up their bodies twisted and turned into directions that Raph wished and hoped that they were dead. Waving his hand out the three bodies came crashing down to the ground, rolling towards Raph. Raph bent down and stared into the eyes of Castiel now clouded over with the knowing signs of death. Zachriel's head was twisted so his head was facing his black. Ariel's skin was covered in the black spiderwebbing fractures that both Mikey and Donnie were experiencing. As her body landed on the ground her arms and one leg turned to ash. Raph tuned to see Leonardo was no more but Shabriri was standing there with his scythe in hand.

In a calm voice Yoake looked down at Shabriri.

"So, you are the new ruler of those that need to be watched. Please if you can tell me your name." Yoake said.

Shabriri stared at him pulling his scythe closer to his body.

"So, you cannot speak. So sad." Turning towards Raph he stared and smiled at him. "Please tell me who this little one is." Yoake asked extending his hand towards Raph.

Shabriri walked over and stood blocking Yoake's hand from Shabriri.

"I see the two of you are very close then. Or were in a previous life. Well I do not have time to deal with this." Yoake said tapping his cane against the side of his shoe.

The cane slowly extended and grew larger and larger until it was the same size as Shabriri's scythe.

"Let the party begin." Yoake said smiling.

Shabriri extending his wings flew towards Yoake. Yoake leaned forward and flew towards Shabriri. Raising each of their scythes the two clashed, the shock waves of two powerful ancient weapons the two blades returned to their home and Raph was pushed back into the building behind him. Hitting his head hard Raph closed his eyes with the last scene of Shabriri and Yoake's faces inches away from each with the blades of their weapons sparking against each other.

What felt like hours Raph opened his eyes, everything was blurry and darker than it was before. Blinking his eyes, a bit Raph's eyes focused on the sickly grey skin that was kneeling before him. Moving his eyes up Raph recognized who was kneeling before him but as his eyes moved higher and higher he could see Shabriri's blade returned to its black tear shape lion's head inches from his own face. Dripping blood at the tip and on the ground told Raph what happened after he passed out. Looking closer at the face both eyes were closed the cloth around his nose and mouth was slightly torn. Looking over his shoulder Raph's body shivered staring at the wingless creature that was kneeling before him.

"Leo?" Raph whispered placing a hand on both sides of his face.

One eye opened a bit. Panicking Raph reached for the blade but a hand stopped him. Shaking his head Raph stated to remember the poison coating the blade. The cloth covering his mouth fell apart revealing his whole face to Raph.

"Leo." Raph said with sad eyes. Beyond the eye and his skin color Raph could see the seventeen-year-old Leo that was once his brother.

"It's time Raphael." Shabriri said.

"Leo?" Raph asked.

Shabriri let a small chuckle out.

"Sorry for everything. I wish things could have been different." Shabriri said.

Placing a hand over Raph's hand Shabriri smiled as his body turned to shadows and dissipated. Watching the shadows fade away Raph looked up to see Yoake cleaning his cane with his pocket square in his coat.

"Ah, I see you are awake now." Yoake said turning his head towards Raph.

Raph standing on his feet quickly felt the world turn and knock him back to his knees.

"Yes, it seems like it is time to get rid of any witnesses though I would love to have someone to tell the tale of my return to this world and having my place as the true ruler of both heaven and the underworld." Yoake said.

Grabbing both sword handles Raph tried to get the blades to extend but there was nothing.

"Silly little boy. That creature's sword takes energy and fed off your blades so it could be awakened. Too bad it was not enough. Now all I need to do is flip a coin to tell me if you will live or die. I hope you live so I can tear you apart cell by cell." Yoake said grinning ear to ear.

The sense of fear filled Raph's heart. Everything he came for, the reason he was here was gone, his brothers were more than likely dead by now. It didn't matter what happened to him now, Raph for once in his life was alone. Closing his eyes and resigning himself to his drawn-out fate Raph let out his last breath of freedom and raised his head to look at Yoake as he pulled his cane up and pointing it towards Raph.

The sound of wind passing behind Yoake tingled his curiosity turning around Yoake stared a shapeless bubble of light the size of a person.

"What is this? Heaven finally coming to stop me. Or are you here to grovel at my feet. Well too little too late." Yoake said turning his attention back to Raph.

"You really talk too much old friend."

Yoake for once in his presence looked shaken the voice of a gentle man resonated in his ears.

"This can't be." Yoake whispered.

Turning his attention back behind him Yoake stared where once was Leonardo, then the shapeless bubble of light was now a young tall man with short brown hair that was swaying to the right side of his face and layered on the top with dark brown eyes and a slightly stubble goatee and beard. Wearing a black dress suit with a white dress shirt and black tie and shoes with a light cream-colored trench coat covering his open suit. On his side was a belt sheath holding a long silver knife that had two prongs for the guard.

"Dumah." Yoake whispered.

"Hello Yoake it has been a long time." Dumah said walking towards him.

"How can this be? You were killed with the poison from the underworld. No one can survive that without the antidote that those creatures that call themselves the rulers of the underworld keep hidden within Rapha." Yoake yelled.

"It takes time even for angels to be reborn into the soul of a human. Gathering the happiness that humans hold deeply inside their hearts. We start to remember our past as angels. Though it is the human's choice to remember and to have their lives disappear so we can return it seems like I was different in this cause. Because of the poison that was dealt to me my body and soul was split into two. My soul in the pool of souls that are waiting to be reborn and then my body placed to rest. I was once reborn on earth as a man who was sadly killed before I could gather enough strength to return. So, I was placed into another but sadly the darkness and sadness that was touched his heart was too much and I was placed into what humans called a coma. I don't really remember too much after that but from what I understand is that the one that carried my soul was reborn as the being called Shabriri and my soul was now the boy Leonardo. To return to my original form the two had to die by the same blade." Dumah explained.

"You were always the smart one out of the two of us." Yoake muttered.

"Yes, and it seems like something has happened to you my friend. Please tell me if you can." Dumah said.

Yoake explained the same tale that was told by the twins about his anger and rage towards the kings for not saving Dumah but still Death's child was okay after being split in two by Death's scythe. Crazed with grief he turned his back on everything and everyone and created a rebelling forcing heaven and the underworld to work together to stop him. Soon he was sealed away as the tree that once stood there until the tree's power started to weaken.

"What are you going to do now old friend?" Dumah asked.

"I do not know. I want them to still pay for your death. The void inside of me still isn't closed even with you here." Yoake said.

Dumah looking down at Raph stared at the two swords he was holding in his hand. Raph followed his gaze and felt a difference in the handles.

'The power is returning.' Raph thought.

Nodding his head Dumah turned his attention back to Yoake.

"Why do I feel like this? You are here but I still want to kill everyone. I want everyone to pay. I want- "

In one quick movement Dumah flew and grabbed Yoake bringing him back to where the tree stood before.

"Create it now Raphael. Create Oathbreaker!" Dumah yelled out holding Yoake with all his might.

"What are you doing? Do you betray me as well you bastard!" Yoake yelled.

Placing the two handles together Raph closed his eyes and picture something that made his heart filled with both happiness and sadness.

"Leo." Raph whispered.

The last image of Leo though with sickly grey skin still had the same appearance of his seventeen-year-old brother. The person he swore to protect after seeing his evil ways, the person he called his best friend, his first and only older brother.

The two sword handles merged together and grew in size. Opening his eyes Raph opened his eyes to see in his hand was oathbreaker, a long blade with two bars opened in the middle with a heart twisted behind itself on the right and on the left was a snowflake colored in black fading into light at the tips of the snowflake. At the handle was a small heart with the two gems of his blade set together. Wings pointing towards the wielder as the guard and the handle inside. Hanging on the outside on a chain was a crescent shaped moon.

(To see what it looks like.)

Pointing it towards Yoake and Dumah. Raph grasped it with both hands and stood just as Leo did when wielding one of his katanas.

"Let's do this Leo." Raph whispered.

Yoake still struggling under Dumah's strength Yoake tried to get his friend to release them but Dumah couldn't release the mentally broken Yoake onto the world while he drew breath.

"You know Yoake those two brothers, Raphael and Leonardo were just like us. I was Leo." Dumah said.

"And I was Raph." Yoake said resigning himself to what was about to happen.

"I wonder what will happen now." Dumah said.

"Hopefully history will stop repeating itself and they can have a happiness that we didn't have." Yoake said.

"I do wish for that as well." Dumah said.

Plunging the blade with all of his strength. Raph was pushed backwards as the blade stood there inside the two friends. The blade started to turn as it was locking something up.

"Thank you for this." Dumah said

"You gave me what I always wanted. To be with my friend forever." Yoake said.

Where the two friends stood was now replaced with a large tree covered in green leaves. Raph stood up and touched the tree with his hands. Under his hand it almost felt like a heartbeat beating to its own rhythm. Backing up Raph looked around at the dead bodies of his friends. Walking away back to the kings to report what happened Raph wondered why no one tried to stop him when more than likely the kings knew Shabriri was sleeping under the seal for Yoake.

Walking into the court room Death stood there talking to Kei. Noticing Raph Death motioned to Raph to walked over.

"So, is it done?" Death asked.

Raph nodded his head.

"I guess you will need to look for another king." Raph said trying to joke a bit.

Death nodded his head.

"Yes, but I am not worried we worked before with three for years I think we can do it again. Now it is time for you to return back to heaven." Death said.

"What about my brothers? Have they passed on?" Raph asked.

Death shook his head.

"Time moves differently here and in heaven only a few minutes have passed with your brothers. I sent Kei ahead to give them the antidote and to tell your friends of your accomplishment." Death explained.

"Thank you for everything." Raph said.

Death shook his head.

"No. It is I and the one that controls heaven to thank you for stopping Yoake from returning." Death said.

"What happens now?" Raph asked.

"We will monitor the seal to see if it will weaken but I believe that Yoake doesn't want to leave now. You will be returned back to heaven safe and sound." Death said.

"What about my friends?" Raph asked.

"Ah, yes the angels. The one called Ariel cannot return because of the agreement casted onto her and since the deal was not completed before she died she will be reborn here as one of my demons. The other two have been returned back to their father to recover from Yoake." Death said.

"I can't save her?" Raph asked.

Death shook his head.

"This is a delicate thing not even I nor the others can fix. Now time to return." Death said waving his hand over Raph.

In a blink of an eye Raph was standing in front of a white door with a knob. Looking around there was nothing else around him. Grasping the door knob Raph opened the door and took a step inside. Looking around he was inside the lair but something seemed off. The sounds of metal slicing the air caused Raph's leg to sprint towards the source. Pushing the doors open Raph panting stared at the back of Leo who was back to his normal seventeen-year-old turtle self.

"Leo?" Raph said mustering the energy to utter the name.

Turning around covered in a thin sheet of sweat Leo smiled saying, "Yes Raph."

Running over Raph rammed himself into Leo holding onto his mid chest as they fell to the ground. Crying his brother's name over and over. Leo patted his back.

"Don't worry Raph I'm right here." Leo said.

Looking up with tears rolling down his face Raph said,

"I'm home."

"Welcome back." Leo said.

Back on earth

Donnie and Mikey gathering the news of Raph's death to save their own broke what little happiness they built up since Leo's death. Even with Kei explaining everything to both the turtles and the Jones family it was not enough. Casey and April looking at each other decided on what their next decision would be.

The turtles taking what little they cared about with them closed and locked the doors to the lair for good. Traveling with the Jones family, Mikey and Donnie moved into the small apartment above the store. Mikey becoming a novelist who never made appearances but wrote stories though fiction to the humans was the life story of his family. Donnie worked with April to start a tech company. April was the face while Donnie was the mastermind inventor. As the years passed and the children left to go to college the Pan Galactic Alliance created by John Bishop came into effect and the faces behind one of the greatest novels and the one behind the company that was revolutionizing the earth came forward. There were some that hated them, cowered, or feared them but there were many that were opened and welcome them as they walked the streets for the first time in years without disguises.

Years passed and soon it came to the time when it was both Donnie and Mikey's time to pass on. People not just the Jones were sad to the thought of their death. Buried in the Jones family plot the family that was once fractured and broken was together once again in the clouds above the earth.
