A/N - I would like to apologize for not posting anything last week. I had almost no free time that week to work on writing. That being said, I decided to post two chapters this week to make up for it. Classes have officially started for me today but you can still expect 1 chapter a week. I would also like to apologize if the past few chapters haven't been that exciting. I promise you'll be seeing some action really soon. Just hang tight!

When he returned to Hellen mere moments later, he was expecting to encounter the same sight he had witnessed when they first met. However, when he let himself in, he was greeted by Hellen donning her assassin's attire. Her white robe conformed to her body shape, and the armor she wore on the outside also kept the loose robe to her body. It suited her quite well. After a few moments of gawking, Kenway cleared his throat and reached into his pocket.

"Here it is," he announced while pulling out the Apple.

"Amazing," she began while stretching out her hand, only to be rejected by the pirate.

"Tell me what it does first," Kenway commanded.

"Fine. Seeing as you can't use it anyway, I suppose there's no harm in telling you," she reasoned, "These Apples are said to provide supernatural abilities to those who are worthy."

"Abilities?" Kenway questioned.

"Aye, power over the mind, invisibility… that sort of thing."

"What kind of jest is this?"

"No jest. These were created by a precursor race," she explained.

"But that's impossible," he claimed. As he said so however, Jack's encounter with Tia Dalma played out in his head.

"Trust me Edward, nothing is impossible," she said as she outstretched her hand once more. Hesitantly, Kenway placed the golden orb in her hand. As it fell into her hand, both of them braced for some sort of interaction to occur. However, to Hellen's dismay, nothing happened.

"No! After all this time, how can you say that I am not worthy?!"

"I thought you said it didn't matter if you could activate it or not?" Edward recalled.

"Piss off!" she snapped while walking away and shaking the device in her hand. Seeing her behavior and desperation, Kenway thought that she may be lying about who she was.

"Are you willing to break it before returning it to your superiors?" he challenged, "Or do you not have any?" Sensing his motives, Hellen quickly collected herself.

"Maybe I should take it there myself," Kenway suggested with his hand outstretched. Hellen looked at the pirate with a smug expression on her face.

"I'm warning you," she began while drawing her sword, "You're treading in some dangerous waters.

"As are you," he countered, "What with betraying the assassins and all."

Out of instinct, she made a jab at Kenway but he used his blade to deflect the sword off to the side, forcing it into the floor. Hellen then elbowed Kenway in the stomach and made for the window as he staggered. She got it opened and jumped out, with Kenway in pursuit. She headed for the port, no doubt towards a ship. Going from rooftop to rooftop, Edward chased after Hellen in the dead of night. Once she managed to put some distance between them, she jumped down onto a railing, slammed her fist against a set of wooden shutters, and then jumped down into the crowd.

When he got to the balcony railing, he was greeted by the shutters being opened and halting his process. In the crowd, he saw Hellen take a sharp turn and decided to take a detour. He pushed aside the lady who opened the shutters and ran inside the building. When he made it through, he jumped out of another window and landed on the muddy ground, right in front of Hellen. She stopped dead in her tracks and threw a smoke bomb at his feet. Familiar with the trick, he closed his eyes and covered his mouth. When she made a break for it, he followed her footsteps and out of the smoke cloud. He was once again back on her trail.

"Don't make me kill you!" she shouted.

"You're not the first to say that to me!" Kenway shouted back.

Due to his persistence, she had no choice but to run in the direction opposite of the port. Eventually, she ran around the corner of a building and Kenway chased her. However, he chased her into another crowd of people. He lost her. He took this moment to slow down and catch his breath. He scanned his surroundings, searching for the unmistakable garb of an assassin. He eventually spotted her in an alleyway, and once she was spotted, she picked up her pace and the chase ensued.

She ran until she hit the end of the alleyway and started climbing up the building, grabbing at jutting iron and planks as she traversed upwards. Edward took this time to pull out his blowgun, ready a sleep dart, and fire it at her. The dart landed in the back of her calf right as she cleared the top of the building. He climbed up after her to see his handywork. On the rooftop, she found her on her side, still awake. The dart hadn't knocked her out but the poison was still strong enough to numb her leg, making running impossible.

As the poison slowly worked throughout her body, she began to lose all feeling in it, and eventually passed out. Using some rope he had, he tied her arms and legs together before taking the golden orb back. Though this night didn't go as expected, Kenway knew he could use this situation to his advantage. He returned to the ship with Hellen over his shoulder and found Sparrow and Gibbs in disarray. When he saw him, Sparrow ran over.

"Where have you been? And who is this?"

"Your thief," Kenway stated while pulling out the Apple from his pocket, "I take it this is your secret treasure?"

"Oh, thank heavens. For a second, I believed you to be the thief," Gibbs butted in with a chuckle as Jack took the device back.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you," Kenway played along, "She says she has information on what that thing is, I think she might be useful."

"Very well then, throw her in the brig. We'll question her… tomorrow," Sparrow ordered.
