"Is this plan really going to work?" Marty asked doubtfully. Polo shrugged annoyed.
"If you don't like it, we can always go with your plan, oh wait. You don't have one!" Polo grumbled, struggling to get the heavy device up the stairs, it had taken the four of them, (although Marty could swear Cake wasn't actually pushing) to get the damned heavy thing across the storeroom floor.
"What I'm saying is if we can even get it up one flight of stairs how are we even going to get it to the deck let alone-."
"Marty would you just shut up and push," Polo said through his teeth as a muffled thump announced they had gotten it onto the first step Cake stepped back with a sigh wiping imaginary sweat from her forehead.
"Ok you guys keep pushing I'm going to take the first break," She said, twirling around like a freaking ballerina to sit down on a crate to watch them struggle. Not that it made a significant difference to the workload, cementing Marty suspicions that she would now be putting glue in Cakes shampoo as pay back. Cake crossed her ankles, watching primly as they heaved it onto the second step.
"Why does Whitebeard have a Nelson Machine anyway?" Cake asked inspecting her nails.
"It's a collectable," Polo said indignantly, "It was one of Vega Punks original creations, y'know, before he joined the world government."
"If it's one of Vega Punks why is it called a Nelson Machine," Marty puffed as they got it up another step.
"It was a collaborative piece; the original idea came from a guy called Albert Nelson. I guess Vega Punk was honouring him," Explained Polo.
"Vega Punk I've heard of, what happened to the other guy? Did he join the government too?" Marty shifted her grip, four steps down another, what, ten to go?
"No, he got eaten by a sea king during the preliminary testing."
"Ah, fair eno- GOD DAMMIT," Marty swore as the old clunky machine slipped. Polo let go to drag Beth away as Marty dove to the side. The machine crashed its way down the steps to rest on the floor with a mighty thud.
/
Marco froze as the ship shook slightly.
"What," Ace said looking around as a pirate slammed into the deck. He glanced up at the now empty crow's nest, "was that." Marco shook his head covering his eyes.
"Nope, no no no. I didn't hear that." White beard laughed at his commander's distress.
"Meeting adjourned I should think," White beard chuckled taking a long drag from his ever present bottle, "Go find out what those lovelies are up to now."
"Polo was in charge of keeping them in their room."
"Well then for his sake they had better have blown a hole in their bedroom wall," Marco said grimly as they sprinted below deck.
/
Marty crept down the peering at the machine curiously.
"Did you break it," Cake asked crossly. Marty quietly reached out and took hold of Beth's shoulder to stop her lunging at her, "We will be lucky if we didn't bring the whole ship down on us with all that noise." Beth let out a string of swear words that had Polo gazing at her with new found respect.
"Even if we get the fragging thing up top, how are we supposed lug the stupid thing around while finding a Sea king docile enough to help us and hook the honking great thing up without anyone seeing us?" Beth said stamping her foot in frustration. Marty squeezed her shoulder before stepping away to study the device.
"Maybe I could lift it with wind?" Marty muttered running her hands over it, "I might be able to at least make it lighter." She glanced up to see identical expressions of doubt on her friends faces, "what?"
"Maybe it would be better if you didn't," Beth said consolingly.
"Why not?"
"Cause you would more than likely send it over the side into the sea, or through a mast with your luck," said a cheerful voice from the top of the stairs. The group spun around guiltily (well Beth, Polo, and Marty did, Cake tried to and ended up falling backwards of the pile of crates with a squawk.)
"Jack!" Marty exclaimed delightedly. Jack smiled as he made his way down the stairs.
"Seeing as I just saw Ace and Marco hightailing their way towards your rooms, I'm gonna say you'll be needing that help now."
/
"… Why didn't you lock the door," Ace said gloomily staring into the empty room
"Because they were guests , not prisoners," Marco snapped, checking the lock on the door to make sure it worked.
"Key word being were," Ace grumbled. Marco snorted.
"No kidding."
"What are we going to do if they actually join the crew?" Ace said as they made their way back up the hallway.
"Lock Beth and Charlene in separate rooms and put Marty in a cage," Marco said grimly, Ace laughed.
"I notice you didn't say whose room you'll be locking Pixie in."
"Shut up Ace."
"Ooooh naughty."
"I also didn't say whose room I'd be putting Charlene in," Ace winced
"I'll be good."
/
So Jack was able to carry to device, by himself, on one shoulder, absolutely and completely putting the rest of them to shame. Not that Marty seemed to mind, she was riding shot gun on Jacks other shoulder, chattering on about meaningless nothing.
Charlene shook her head with a sigh. As much as she liked Polo, this was never going to work. Well it would annoy Marco and the other idiot to no end, which she guessed was a plus.
"Alright then," Polo said stopping in front of a door, "Everyone got the plan?" Marty nodded, jumping from Jacks shoulder. She landed on the floor with a soft thump staggering slightly, before glancing around at everyone.
"You've got the Sea King bait?" She asked Polo pulling the door open slightly to peer out. She paused for a moment before pulling off her hat. Bundling her hair on top of her head, she pulled the hat back on securely so the majority of her hair was hidden.
"Yep."
"Well this is a half assed plan if I ever saw one, but if the dynamic duo catches us its every nut case for themselves," Marty said grinning back at them before slipping out the door onto the deck.
Polo blinked twice before spluttering.
"That- That was really rude," He said indignantly as everyone else ignored him in favour of crowding around the door to peer through the open crack.
/
Marty strolled across the deck hoping she looked like she was meant to be there. It would be kind of hard to cause a distraction if she got caught and hauled back below deck. Well ok that in itself was a distraction but she also didn't want to get left behind on the ship. Polo's "planning" didn't help much either. Not much detail in "use your showy powers on deck so we can sneak around, oh and don't get caught." Marty decided it would be better to be near the side of the ship. Hard enough playing a giant game of keep away with pirates twice her size and triple her strength; she wanted the sea to her back.
She was halfway there now. Marty almost felt like whistling just to add to the effect. Oh look Whitebeards on deck, perfect, hopefully he left stopping them up to the crew. Otherwise they were royally –
"Hey aren't you that destructive chick?" A random crew member she knew by face but not name grabbed her arm.
Welp.
"Yaosu Yaosu wind," Marty snapped her wrist out.
What she had intended was a stream of air to knock the one offending crew mate away from her. What Marty got was an explosion of air originating just in front of her hand that sent everyone within a five meter radius flying. That wasn't even counting the people taken out by flying bodies.
Marty slammed into the ships railing knocking the wind out of her lungs. Gasping she stumbled upright. Well she wanted everyone's eyes, she now had them. Marty steadied herself before planting her feet and spreading her arms.
Breathe, focus.
"Yaosu Yaosu water," Marty said quietly, she dropped her arms before slowly moving them upwards. She grinned feeling the drag on her arms knowing for certain that, combined with the faces of the men, there was some definite distracting going on behind her.
Sneaking a glance over her shoulder at the pillars of water rising behind her, Marty took a deep breath feeling a wave of fatigue wash over her. Bringing her eyes forward again she glanced around at the men either staring at her. Raising her eyes she watched as just beyond that her friends began "sneaking" towards the side of the ship.
"Is this a training exercise I didn't know about?"
"Burnt off my eyebrows!"
"Someone knock her out before she sends us overboard!" Yelled a voice
"Toilet water up my nose!"
"She's actually really good at poker!"
Time to go to work.
/
"Should we help her?" Beth said glancing over at Marty who was sending wave after wave chasing the men. They weren't on the scale of what she had done before, but it wasn't like they were gentle currents either.
"We would just get knocked over with the rest of them," Jack said as Polo heaved the chum they were using as Sea King bait over the side. His eyes flicked to whitebeard who was watching his men getting pounded with an amused look on his face, "If a monster doesn't turn up soon well-,"
A door to the lower decks slammed open as two men threw themselves out of it.
"Well that was going to happen," Jack finished moving the Nelson device behind him as if that would shield it from the commander's view.
"PURPLE, WHAT BRAIN DAMAGE ARE YOU INFLICTING ON US NOW?!"
/
Whoop, there it is. Marty's eyes snapped up to see Ace and Marco cutting a path through the destruction.
"Hey boys," Marty called cheerfully pulling down another pillar to slam onto the deck. Marco and Ace dived in opposite directions.
"Yaosu yaosu water," Marty swept her arms up, giving life to eight more pillars.
"The idiot would learn control in the most annoying way possible," Ace cursed spitting out sea water. Marty laughed, oh she was a dead women. She wasn't so much as controlling as raising water pillars and then felling them like trees. Hoping they fell in the right directions. She had made five fall in wrong direction already, completely missing the boat.
If she didn't get off this ship soon Ace was going to put her back in a cage, and by the look on Marco's face, he would be throwing the key into the ocean. Marty pushed her hands forward dropping two waves on either side of the commanders throwing them together.
The Cage wouldn't be far behind its key. Marty took a step backward feeling for more pillars when she mistook her footing and stumbled. The remaining pillars dropped into the sea pitching the ship sidewards. Marty lost what was left of her footing sprawling on her side. She pushed herself to her knees to see the commanders sprinting towards her. Lunging to her feet she threw her hands out, puddles of water left on the deck flew at the men.
"Wait! Freeze!" Ace had the good sense to hurl himself out of the war path. Marco wasn't so luck and was instead slammed by a wall of ice. Marty watched guilty as Marco hit the floor hoping he wasn't hurt, before realizing her mistake.
Where was Ace? Suddenly Marty was hit by what felt like a brick wall shoving her backwards. Steel hands closed around her wrists pinning them down onto the railing. Gasping Marty looked up into Aces furious (sopping wet) face.
"What are you even doing?" Ace snapped his nose a bare ten centimetres from her own.
"Hostile takeover," Marty said, still short of breath, "Well it was worth the try." The hands around her wrist tightened.
"Very funny," Ace snarled, "Why are you attacking us," Marty flinched mentally at the hostility in Ace's voice, welp she pushed him off the deep end this time.
"Ace, calm down," Marco said striding up behind him. Ace's eyes flicked to his friend.
"She could have gotten herself killed! She could have gotten one of the crew killed! Hell Purple could have gotten me killed," Ace shouted turning his gaze back to Marty, slightly surprised to see her looking down guiltily.
"Yeah, sorry bout the ice Marco, did I hurt you?" Marty asked quietly, Marco blinked as Ace spluttered indignantly.
"Um… No?" Marco said confused
"I'm fine too, thanks for asking," Ace said rolling his eyes upwards. Ace froze, staring in shock. Marco glanced at him, then behind them realising the whole deck had gone silent.
"What?" Marty said confused as she and Marco turned to stare upwards.
"Oh," Marco said raising his eyebrows.
"Well I'll be," Marty breathed, "Fee Fee Trixabell, you're looking well –whoa?" Marty could feel the whip lash as Ace grabbed her waist, jerking her behind him. The giant blue-grean Sea King continued to stare at her with sky blue eyes.
"Jack! Oi?" Ace glanced back as Marty twisted in his grip.
"Purple shut up!" Ace hissed turning forward again snapping one of his hands upwards.
"What are you? – Hey stop!" Marty cursed ask she lunged forward out of Ace's grip to drag his arm down.
"Are you mad?" He barked. Ace pushed her back behind him again, glancing at Marco. Marco met his eyes and nodded moving to stand in front of the duo as Ace began to back up. Bodily pushing Marty along with him.
"Don't hurt her," Marty said angrily attempting to push past him, "Jack! Hurry up and -!"
"Alright already," Jack grunted. Ace turned just as the Nelson device flew past to slam into the Sea kings neck. Fee Fee Trixabell swayed backwards, before glancing down confused and very obviously unhurt. The device had opened upon contact, and was now spiralling around the Monsters neck like a collar.
"What? Is that!" Marco swore, "Did you just- WHY IS THE NELSON DEVICE AROUND MARTY'S MONSTER!" Ace blinked, stepping back as the Sea kings gaze returned to them.
"I think you made it mad," Ace said wrapping an arm around Marty to keep her behind him, he raised his hand wearily. Marty went up on tip toes to peer over Aces shoulder, poking him in the back of the neck when she saw his arm.
"She, not it, and don't hurt her," Marty warned, putting her hands on Ace's shoulder to keep herself upright.
Ace snorted.
"And when she eat us?"
"She won't eat you," Marty said easily as Marco fixed a murderous glare on her.
"Oh?"
"You would taste bad."
"Marty," Marco said with an air of forced calm, "what are you planning?" Ace razed his brow, planning? He looked over his shoulder to see the other girls not far behind them, oh look there's Polo. Obviously helping rather than hindering them.
"Well," Marty said, "Umm-,"
-MORHEEY-
You could have heard a pin drop on the deck as everyone froze.
"Well hot damn the device worked," Beth said coming to stand next to Ace. Marco glared at her.
"What are you doing?" Marco snapped, eyes flicking to Charlene as she strode up, Polo trailing behind her.
"Time to go I should think," Cake said primly, flicking imaginary dirt from her skirt's, "Marty, tell the beast-,"
-MORHEEY-
"You mean Marty?" Marty called back trying and failing to push her way out of Ace's hold, "I'm Marty, you were following us? Why were you following us? If you were after the bait you would have rocked up on the other side of the ship!"
-MORHEEY'S SKY WATER-Sighed the Sea Monster
"Sky Water?" Marty said, pausing her assault on Aces head to look up confused, "You mean the pillars of water?"
-SKY WATER- Fee Fee insisted lowering her head so that her snout was level with the ships railing, her voice sounded slightly tinny coming out through the Nelson Device's speakers – WATER DANCING IN THE SKY-
"Purple would you cut that out," Ace growled grabbing her wrists as she moved to hit him again. Marty glared at him.
"Ace for god sake she's not dangerous."
"My ass she isn't-,"
-AAYYYSSSS- Ace looked up shocked while Marty laughed.
"Sooo dangerous," Marty snorted, wrenching her wrists out of his slacked grip. Jumping back before he could grab her again, Marty turned and ran past a shell shocked Marco to jump up over the railing.
"Oi! Purple!" Ace cursed. Starting forwards only to pull up short as four people flew past him
"C'mon wind!" Marty said pushing her hands downwards.

Yooo long chapter.
