"Yaosu Yaosu earth," Marty gritted through her teeth, ignoring the flare of pain in her side as she threw herself upright. She snapped her arms up so they were pointing towards Fee Fee before turning her hands so her palms faced outwards. She tightened her hands into claws slowly dragging them apart. The air around her hands suddenly felt like thick mud, it was exhausting just pulling her hands apart. Her side felt like it was on fire.

Ace skidded to a halt less than a meter behind Marty staring at the ocean with a mixture of awe and horror as it began collapsing in on itself.

"Blimming heck Purple!" Ace snarled, striding forwards her closed the distance between them to grab her shoulder. Ace went to yank her around, and found her couldn't move her. Like she was cemented in place from her hands. Ace took another step forwards so he was next to her, fully prepared to yell at her to cut off her power. Ace paused, his eyes widening.

Marty face's was as white as a bed sheet, covered in cold sweat as she breathed in tiny, exhausted pants. Her eyes were half closed and glazed over, completely focused on Fee Fee. Ace wasn't even sure if she knew he was here.

"Cut it out Purple, you're killing yourself," Ace snapped moving to stand in front of her, worry growing as she seemed to stare right through him, "Bloody hell." Ace curse snapping his fingers in front of her face as he attempted to push her hands away.

"She's splitting the ocean," Marco said horrified as he walked up behind Marty. Ace snorted angrily.

"No, she's splitting the oceans floor."

"What?"

"She's making the ocean floor deeper so Fee Fee can get closer," Ace said angrily giving the girl another shake before turning to glare at the ocean. The "split" had almost reached Fee Fee. Ace's eyes widened.

"When she releases her power the waters going to crash into the space she made," Ace realised, Marco sucked in a surprised breath.

"Will the crew in the boat be alright?"

"They are fine, the boats still too far away to be in trouble thanks to Fee Fee, but the waters going to crash together in that crevice."

"Making a massive wave," Marco said understanding, he studied the growing spilt.

"Get everyone off the- oh," Ace glanced around the empty deck, "Beth's got everyone of the dock already."

"We need to join them," Marco said turning on his heel only to turn back when Ace didn't move.

"Can't."

"… Ace, even if she caused this we can't leave her to get pulled into the sea. She'll sink like a stone."

"If I could move the stupid frigging idiot we would be gone already," Ace snapped, giving Marty's arm a tug to prove his point, "Go make sure no one else gets dragged in my the wave, I'll stay here." Marco studied Ace for a second.

"Even without my help I don't think anyone besides you and Marty will be in danger. Beth had everyone out of the way before we knew Marty was gone."

"Meaning they've been plotting again. Get gone already" Marco slipped into his phoenix form jumping into the chaos from above. Ace glared at Marty, before smacking his palm against her forehead.

"You're a frigging idiot," Ace muttered moving to stand behind Marty. He wrapped his arm around her waist in preparation to pull her back as soon as she let go of whatever the hell was keeping her there, "You couldn't just trust us to fix the problem for once? No you have to commandeer a Sea king, or let yourself get captured, or take on a platoon of trained thugs" Ace ranted watching the split reach Fee Fee passing under and past the Sea King. Fee Fee was glancing around confused as she slipped into the hole.

"enn…ow," Ace glanced side way's at Marty as she blinked and began shaking.

"Purple? Oi," Ace growled, "Cut out the sea splitting." Ace waited for a few long seconds, wondering if she had gone back to ignoring him.

"… yeah…ok," Ace flinched as Marty's hands suddenly relax and her arms dropped. Marty slumped back against Ace, "I'm done."

"You're done?" Ace snarled, "frigging-." Ace froze as the ocean rushed to fill the hole Marty had made. Smashing together the waves grew, hurtling towards the docks. Ace swore hurling Marty back. When they were about ten metres back from the docks edge he dropped to the Deck pining Marty beneath him knowing they wouldn't make it to the shore. Marty gasped as Ace pushed down on her bruised side. As Ace shifted his weight slightly off her, Marty snatched her arm out thrusting it upwards just as the wave hit.

Ace pushed himself up onto his elbows, staring at the bubble of air they were in as water rushed around them. Ace glared down at Marty.

"Cut that out." Ace snapped. Marty frowned.

"What? Why?" Ace wrapped his hand around the wrist of her outstretched arm, yanking it down, thankful when it came.

"It's better to be wet than dead," Ace muttered making sure to trap Marty's hands between them as the wave hit.

They would have only been under water for ten seconds but if felt longer as Ace finally felt the water receding. Wrapping one arm around Marty, Ace struggled to find purchase with the other as he felt the wave dragging them backward toward the docks edge.

Worse comes to worse I can grab onto the planks around the edge of the dock Ace reasoned, Just as his feet hit something solid.

Suddenly the water was gone. The pair pushed themselves upwards panting and couching as seawater steamed of them.

"You… bloody… idiot…" Ace panted reaching out to grab Marty's forearm, his brow tightened as he felt her shaking.

"It worked didn't it," Marty panted exhausted evident in her voice, Ace rose his eyes to meet hers holding her gaze, Marty blinked before lowering her gaze, "… I'm sorry."

"Don't do that again."

"Yeah," Marty glanced at his face, smiling slightly, "By the way you still have pen on your face."

"…Wait, what."

"It's mostly gone, but there's still a few rabbit heads that have yet to disappear."

"What do you mean pen?"

-MORHEEY. AYYYYS-

The pair turned to see Ace's feet were resting against Fee Fees nose which was right up against the dock along with her head and body.

"Fee fee, you saved us," Marty said delightedly. Ace glanced sideways at her.

"She wouldn't have had to save us if you hadn't pulled such a stupid move," Ace grumbled.

"It wasn't that stupid," Marty retorted tiredly as Ace rolled onto his back.

"No it definitely was."

"Was not, look how many problems it solved."

"You solved the problem of how to give sea monsters access to an Island."

"Fee Fee's not most sea monsters and now ships can get in as well." Ace fixed her with a glare.

"If it was such a brilliant idea why didn't you run it by Me and Marco first?" Ace asked, fully aware of the answer. Marty sighed wearily.

"Cause you weren't going to let me row out in a boat, you definitely weren't going to let me do this."

"Because you were hurt you dam fool!" Ace snapped sitting upright. Marty shrugged defiantly.

"The pirates were still too far away to get hurt, and I knew Beth and Cake would get everyone off the Docks. It was the best solution. Arguing about it would have wasted time, no one was in danger," Marty argued raising her tone to meet Aces even though it made her head throb.

"You were in danger!" Ace yelled angrily getting to his feet.

"I knew I could handle it!" Marty shouted back. She glared up at him knowing if she tried to stand up, there was a good chance she would topple right back over. Marty had a feeling it wouldn't help her argument.

"You did not, you had absolutely no idea!" Ace swore throwing his hands over head, "You would have gone over the edge of the peer and drowned if you hadn't died from exhaustion first! You could have gotten yourself killed. You could have gotten me killed! Do you even care!"

"I do care! I didn't ask for your help! You could have been safe on the bank with everyone else!" Marty snapped pushing herself shakily to her feet. Better to will the argument and fall over rather than take this crap sitting down.

"What makes you think I could do that! What kind of person do you think I am that I would have skipped off into safety to let you die!" Ace stamped his foot in anger.

"I can look after myself Ace!" Ace opened his mouth to called Marty every name under the sun before he froze.

She been that way for as long as I can remember, Ambers voice recited quietly in his head.

"What?" Marty snapped when Ace continued to study her silently.

-MORHEY PAIN- Fee fee interrupted suddenly making the pair jump

"Dam right Morheys a pain," Ace muttered under his breath.

-NO. PAIN. MORHEY HURT-

"I'm okay," Marty turned to Fee Fee, smiling slightly, "Just a little rough around the edges." Though I should probably sit down soon, Marty thought as the edges of her vision flickered.

"A little," Ace snorted in disbelief.

-AYYYS WHY IS MORHEY HURT-

"Huh? Um- she got in a fight?" Ace said blinking up at the Sea King who he could almost swear was glaring at him. Who knew Sea Kings could glare, "Why are you asking me?"

-WHY AYYS LET MORHEY GET HURT-

"Huh?"

"He didn't let me do anything Fee Fee," Marty said smiling reassuringly as Fee Fee's gaze moved across to her, "I got myself hurt."

-AYYS SHOULD PROTECT MARTY- Ace flinched. Marty, who was staring disbelievingly at Fee Fee, missed it.

"Marty's capable of protecting herself," Marty insisted, frowning as Fee Fee gave her a doubtful look.

-WHEN MOHREY CAN'T AYYS SHOULD- Fee Fee insisted placing her snout on the dock to get a better look at Ace AYYS PROTECT MORHEY WHEN EVVEE TRISHBELL CAN'T-

"I'm fine Fee Fee, I'm not Ace's responsibility," Marty said stepping forward carefully to place her hands against the Sea Kings snout. Marty glanced sideways as Ace moved to stand next to her.

"Sorry Fee Fee I'll do better next time," Ace said sincerely.

"Oi," Marco muttered.

-GOOD-

"What do you mean next time?" Marco asked landing on the deck behind them, "Finished screaming at each other I see," Marco said snidely, "Have either of you noticed the ship pulling in behind Fee Fee then?"

/

"Marty Just… the sea," Brad said disbelievingly as the Moby Dick drifted further into the port.

"Yep," Beth said cheerfully watching Marco turn to Marty. From the look on Marty's face what Marco was saying to her wasn't "congratulations". Brad stared dazedly at his sister.

"You knew she was going to do that!"

"Yep. Well not specifically that. I knew there would be water. There's always water," Beth said cheerfully stepping back onto the dock. From the look of things Marty was going to need back up.

"You… She could have drowned!" Brad objected faintly following after her. Beth shook her head.

"I knew Ace would step in to help her."

"How can you be so sure? They don't exactly get along," Brad frowned as Beth laughed.

"Obviously you don't look hard enough. Any way he can't help himself. There is no way Ace would willingly let Marty get hurt," Beth insisted, Brad frowned raking his eyes over Marty.

"If you say so, he isn't doing the best job," Brad said lowering his voice.

"It's not his fault, Marty's not the easiest person to look out for. She goes out of her way to cause trouble," Beth said flatly.

"No kidding," Amber said from behind Brad causing him to jump, "Someone want to tell me why Marty is petting a Sea Monster?"

"Only if you tell me why we call her Marty if her name is really Zitomirana Marie Von T rap Lollipop or whatever," Beth bargained cheerfully. Amber rolled her eyes.

"Zitomira Rhona Marietta, idiot," Amber said scornfully, "Marty is short for Marietta." Beth tipped her head to the side confused.

"Why does she go by her last name?"

"Marty hates her name," Amber said, her eyes now focusing on Fee Fee, "She goes by her last name cause it means 'little bitter,' I think she finds it amusing. Now why is she treating the monster as a lap dog, where on earth did you guys find it."

"Well, short version is Fee Fee took a liking to Marty because of her powers," Beth said brightly

-MORHEY STAY WITH EVE TRISHBELL-

"It can talk!?"Amber asked shocked. Beth laughed.

"Yeah, well, that's kinda our fault," Beth said straining her ears to here Marty conversation.

"I'm not saying you have to leave, but you need to move over," Marty insisted, patting the Sea Kings nose reassuringly. Damn she sounds tired, Beth thought, "The ship can't pull up to the dock with you in the way."

"Yo Zito-Mito," Beth called cheerfully slapping Marty on the back. Marty turned to frown first at Beth then moved her scowl to Amber. Amber groaned.

"I know that look, I swear to god if you put bleach in my shampoo again I will cut off your hair while you sleep," Amber warned. She secretly dearly hoped not to get in a prank war with the girl again. Amber was smart, but Marty was creative and damn vindictive when it came to her name.

"You promised Amberlynn." Shit, Amber was definitely not letting Marty near any of her things for the next year.

"Technically I didn't tell them, they just over heard me say it," Amber reasoned.

"This is the second time Amberlynn."

"I thought you were getting yourself eaten," Marty rolled her eyes.

"Fee Fee wouldn't eat me, she doesn't eat – wait Fee Fee what do you eat?" Marty asked glancing at the Sea King. Fee Fee Tipped her head to the side slightly.

-MEAT-

"See nothing to worry about," Marty said cheerfully as Amber took a step back, "What?" Marty looked sideways to see Brad actively backing away.

Ace raised his eyes upwards for patience.

"You're aware that people are technically classed as meat right?" Ace drawled. Marty shrugged.

"Yeah but, I'm not technically people right Fee Fee?"

-MORHEYS NOT FOOD- Fee Fee said, and Ace could have sworn the Sea King looked offended if that was possible. Amber covered her face with her hands.

"Your logic astounds me."

Marty yawned and then yelped as Fee Fee stretched her nose out to nudge the girl forward, knocking Ace over in the process.

-Sleepy Time?- Marty yawned again, nodded and then proceeded to drag herself up onto Fee Fee's nose before anyone had the presence of mind to stop her. She got the top half of her torso up before giving up to exhaustion and just letting her legs dangle.

"Oi oi!" Ace said jumping up. He reached out to grab Marty's ankle just as Fee Fee's head lifted of the boardwalk. The Sea Monster flicked her head gently, propelling Marty fully onto her nose. Marty crawled to the base Fee Fee's nose before curling up and, to all appearances, went to sleep.

"You have got to be kidding me," Amber said aghast, watching as the Sea King backed away from the jetty slightly and proceeded to watch Marty with extremely crossed eyes.

"Frigging-!" Ace swore, slapping is hand to his face.

"Not this again," Marco groaned.

"Maybe we just leave her there to sleep it off," Suggested Cake shrugging, Brad looked at the blonde girl like she'd gone mad.

"Absolutely not. No way am I leaving Purple. Alone. With the fricken Sea King. Again," Ace said shaking his head as Brad nodded in agreement, "I'm sick of her blowing crap up whenever our backs are turned. We are getting her down from there before she set something else on fire. "

"Wait, what?" Brad said startled as Ace finished his rant.

"She blows stuff up even when you are around," Beth pointed out, "I can wait here for her, she'll be fine till she wakes up."

"Of course she'll be fine. She's always fine, it's her surroundings I fear for," Marco said dully.

"There are houses not too far from here, it's too dangerous and anyway," Ace said in the tired voice of a man who had learnt the hard way, "Since when has your presence ever helped."

"Name one-," Beth objected.

"Explosion in the kitchen," Marco supplied immediately.

"Yeah but-."

"You flooded the boy's bathroom," Ace said sinking to sit cross legged on the deck.

"Ok-."

"You blew up half the alcohol on board," Marco added.

"That was-."

"An experiment," Marco finished, "We know. We also know it was you who suggested it."

"You set the deck on fire," Ace added.

"Oh hang on that was you" Beth said laughing.

"You stole the device that makes Fee Fee talk, then rode her off into the sunset," Cake said joining in.

"First of all don't act like you didn't fully participate in that heist, and second that was neither Marty's idea nor mine," Beth answered.

"Don't even get me started on all the tidal waves we've had to go through," Ace said sadly.

"Ok! Ok fine, but this is different we aren't gonna wreck some poor persons house," Beth said raising her hands in surrender.

"My house has random holes all through it, also one of the walls are missing," Cake scowled.

"Yeah but that's you…"

"Are you guys seriously arguing about this," Brad asked incredulously, "She's asleep on a Sea Kings Head! How are we going to get her down!" Cake snorted drawing his attention.

"She got herself up there. She's fine."

"Still," Jack said waving as the skiff pulled up to the dock, "Whatever the reason, we need to get her down before she wakes up or before the water lizard decides to cart her off to sea." The group turned to stare back out to sea.

"Crap," Ace said falling back to lie on the deck.

"Crap," Marco agreed.
