"I'm sorry President Grant. I'll see what my boss can do."

It was one week later, and Olivia and Fitz were at Aira's first wellness appointment. The nurse refused to give the vaccinations without Violet's signature. Fitz thought a vacation might put her in a better mood. She agreed to spending a week in Florida on the beach. She didn't look anything like her usual self. Her eyes were hidden behind dark sunglasses and her clothes were wrinkled. She didn't wear any makeup. Her dark brown curls were tangled in a loose bun. Fitz couldn't imagine the pain. Adam was the only boy she ever dated, and now he was gone. When they dropped her off at the airport, they let her know that they would help out her with the bills. Violet looked at Aira in her car seat and she broke down. She was still sobbing when she got out the car.

A man in a white coat came up to them a few minutes later. The nurse followed timidly behind him.

"It's an honor to meet you sir."

"Our granddaughter needs her vaccines."

"I understand. We don't usually allow this without a parent's consent, but I will approve it. After today, you should consider becoming her legal guardian. You won't run into this problem again if you have the required paperwork."

"We don't want to take Aira from Violet."

"It can be a temporary arrangement."

"Okay."

The doctor gave them a stack of paperwork. The nurse let them know she would be ready in a few minutes.

"I think he's right. We don't know how long Violet is going to be incapable of being a mom to Aira. We need to seek temporary guardianship for a few months."

"The therapy is really helping you. You're doing much better Olivia."

"I'm trying to be better Fitz. Aira needs us."
