Explaining Ahkmenrah's condition proved to be quite a difficult task for the night guard. It was already a strange and stressful enough situation by itself, but just the act of telling some of the other museum members was incredibly trying as well. Larry started with Teddy, hoping a man with such a kind soul, (A wax one at that,) would understand and not be too confused over it. That seemed fine enough, though Teddy had some questions of his own about it, in which Larry directed him to Ahk, so the former president could ask as he pleased. Larry didn't wish to spend time explaining everything when he had a few more members of his close friends to inform before he started the search for the spell. Telling Sacajawea was quite awkward in Larry's position. Telling not only a woman, but a mother as well, was a very confusing and mind-boggling situation for her. Still, she reacted calmly after her initial shock, and seemed determined to help in any way she could. Larry supposed she'd be a good advice source for Ahkmenrah, given she had been through the horrors of pregnancy herself... Well, Larry wasn't too sure on that, given she was a wax figure after all, only retaining memories from the person she was modeled after, not actually having the experience herself. Still, he trusted that she'd be helpful to the young Egyptian.
Jed and Octavius hadn't been too thrilled to hear the news. Then again, no one really was. They had been more shocked than anything else. Firstly, Larry had to explain the situation to them, and boy, that was awful. They at first hadn't believed it, Jed cackling up a storm, thinking the whole ordeal was a big joke. But, he slowly realized Larry was being utterly and completely serious. That brought on the confusion from the miniature men. Both of them were beyond puzzled, but Larry tried to explain with ease and caution. Of course, one of the first questions Jed had was,
"Where the hell is it gonna come out?"
Larry shook his head and sighed in his exhaustion. "Yeah, yeah, it's weird, I know. It'll just kinda... burst out of him." he explained wearily.
"The kiddo's gonna bust his gut?!" Jedidiah asked, panicked and alarmed at the thought. Octavius seemed to share his friend's shock and worry as well.
"Yeah, but Ahk gave us this spell that will heal him afterwards." This calmed Jed and Octavius slightly. Larry watched as the panic washed from their faces.
"I gotta go find the stuff I'm gonna need for this spell. You guys need to stay here and watch Ahk, alright?" Larry instructed, his gaze glaring sternly at them, hoping they wouldn't protest against his wishes.
"What? Why? He's thousands of years old, he can take care of himself!" Jed exclaimed and argued.
"Look, I just want someone looking after him in case he needs anything. He's in a delicate condition, so I wanna make sure he doesn't stress too much over the little things. This isn't gonna be easy for him." Larry said, thinking of when his ex-wife was pregnant with his son. Pregnancy proved to be very stressful and hormonal, and he didn't want Ahkmenrah to be alone during it.
Jed nearly pouted, disappointed he wasn't going to help Larry find whatever ingredients that were needed for the spell, knowing he'd miss out on all of the action and adventure. "Does that mean we're babysitters?"
"No, that means you're Pharaoh-carrying-a-baby-sitters." Larry responded.
Ahkmenrah was calm. Too calm. Jed and Octavius couldn't understand how anyone in his situation could be that relaxed about it. Still though, Ahk was as peaceful as ever, sitting at the front desk with the miniature men staring awkwardly at him. They had so many questions and curiosities, though they weren't too sure if they wanted to know the answers...
Octavius wondered how on Earth it was even possible. He knew it was from crazy spell from the mysterious statue him and his partner had discovered earlier in the night, but he still had a tough time wrapping his mind around it. He tried to be respectful, holding his questions back from the Egyptian.
Jed was cringing over the thought of a man becoming pregnant. He imagined himself in that situation, fearing of the pains of pregnancy and labor. This only made Jed have a surplus of sympathy for the Pharaoh, hoping he'd be able to have a smooth pregnancy. Well, as smooth as a three day pregnancy could be.
They were silent for awhile after Larry left. Larry had gathered up majority of his normal team of museum friends, going to find the odd ingredients for the spell, leaving the miniature men to look after the Pharaoh. The whole situation felt uneasy for them, but they tried to contain themselves and keep their mouths shut for the time being. Still, Jed couldn't help his concern, asking,
"You okay, Ahk?"
The Pharaoh looked over at them, smiling lightly at the question. "Yes, I'm alright." he answered lightly before continuing. "You both look like you've got a lot on your minds."
Jed and Octavius exchanged a humored look. "Hell yeah, man. This is freaky!" Jed burst out with a chuckle, Octavius giggling along with him as they broke the painful silence.
Ahkmenrah nodded at that, giving a grinning laugh as well. "Yes, it is, but it'll be over quickly. Don't worry too much."
"But you'll have a child afterwards! How do you plan on dealing with it?" Octavius questioned, regaining a serious tone.
"I plan on raising it and taking care of it."
"Yeah, but... Jeez, you'll have a kid! Doesn't that worry you or make you nervous at all?" Jed asked.
"Well, yes, but I think I can handle it."
Jed and Octavius laughed again at that, grinning and holding their pained sides from the aching of humor. "You don't know what's comin', buddy!" Jed said, more chuckles following afterwards.
"Yes, I do. A baby. I thought it was obvious?" Ahk answered with a confused tilt of the head.
"Kids are hard work, Ahk. Neither of us got any personal experience, but we know enough to know that raising a kid is a tough job." Jed replied to him.
"I'm aware. They need constant attention."
Both minuscule men nodded at that. "Well, we're here for you, even if we might not be much help." Jed reassured supportingly with a small grin, walking on the shiny surface of the desk towards Ahk, reaching a hand to Ahk's arm, patting him lightly to show his care and affection.
Ahk smiled lightly at them, seeing that they were hopeful and affectionate towards him. "Thank you, J-" Though, Ahkmenrah paused mid-sentence, eyes widening in shock. This got both Jedidiah and Octavius concerned, looking up at the Pharoah in their worry. "Are you alright?" Octavius asked, walking closer to him like Jed had moments before. Ahkmenrah looked down, moving and squirming in the chair uncomfortably, catching the attention of Jed and Octavius once more. Their eyes followed Ahk's movements, seeing him staring downwards to his abdomen. Both miniature men looked to Ahkmenrah's stomach, then finally saw what was wrong.
There was the magic again, the tendrils and wisps of blue that Jed and Octavius had seen earlier in the night. It was back again, Taweret's magic infecting him once more. It swirled in a small wave around Ahkmenrah's stomach, drifting to his sides, and suddenly he gasped in shock and pain. The Pharaoh squeezed his eyes shut and dropped his head, clutching at his abdominal region. This pain only lasted a few seconds before the streams of blue disappeared as quickly as they had shown up, leaving the three of them shocked and confused.
"Ahk...? You okay? What just happened?" Jed asked, stepping closer and gripping on the fabric of the Egyptian's clothes.
Ahkmenrah still seemed to be in a shell-shocked state, blinking wearily and rubbing at his stomach tenderly. After a few seconds of silence, he spoke up, answering the question. "I'm alright... I'm not sure, but..." he started before lifting the hand from his previously flat stomach. As his hand moved and put more of his skin into view, both Octavius and Jed could clearly see the small bump that had miraculously developed within seconds.
