Everyone let out shouts of fright as the ground under them shook. T.K. held on tightly to Raiden, who was hugging his father's neck, but not taking his bright eyes off of his cousin. Ryo grabbed a hold of Emiko's arm to help her keep balance as she screamed. She was more terrified of the way Takato looked compared to anything. Kimi, unfortunately, let out an annoyed growl as she fell to her bottom, along with Kari and Sora, who fell as well.
Tai, Izzy and Matt somehow managed to stay on their feet, even though being the closest to Takato. However, the loud shout had pushed them a few feet back, away from the young boy.
"Takato, you have to calm down!" There was a clear panic in Izzy's voice as he stared at his son.
Takato's glowing red eyes glared at everyone, and his mouth opened in a snarl. Raiden's eyes widen when he noticed Takato had grown sharp pointy k9's. It was also unmistakable that Takato was growing taller, slowly. He still continued to sweat and breathe heavily, and he looked everything by friendly.
Suddenly, the weather started to change, and gray storm clouds rolled above the group of Digidestined. A crack of thunder sounded then a strong gust of wind started to circle around Takato.
"What's happening?" Sora shouted over the loud winds.
"He's trying to digivolve." Izzy shouted back, his face filled with concern. "We have to make him stop. Him digivolving in the human world could be deadly."
"Takato, we're sorry. Please, calm down." Kari begged to her nephew, she was now standing beside Sora, her arm up trying to shield the wind.
"Takato, we promise to get your mom back. Everything will be ok." Tai yelled out to the boy, trying to get closer to him.
Takato's nose scrunched up, and more of his teeth, that were all becoming pointy, showed. "Dober..mon..." His voice was deep and raspy sounding, and another rumble of thunder shook over them in the sky. The wind gust picked up even more speed as Takato let out a scream of pain.
Izzy's eyes grew big. "Takato! Please!"
Suddenly, from behind Takato, the adults notice a large branch come down, and whack the boy upside the head. Takato crumbled to the ground and the wind stopped, and the gray clouds rolled away.
Ryo stood there, panting, holding the branch he had broken off a tree in both his hands, and looking down at the younger brunette. "Sorry, buddy."
While Takato is knocked out...
The adults, along with the children, decide to head back to Izzy's house.
Once there, Kari gets everyone something to drink and all the kids something to snack on. Izzy was in his son's room, where Tai and Matt had put Takatos's unconcious body. Izzy tended to Takato's cut on the side of his head where Ryo had struck him.
Raiden was sitting on T.K.'s lap, an oreo cookie in his left hand and his right hand going in swirls. He was telling his parents about his time in the digital world. He showed them his digivice, that was green and white, making T.K. feel proud, and then he went on to tell them about Dorimon, his furry purple and white dino partner. He always got super excited to tell them about the parts when Dorimon digivolved, and he even told them about when he let go of Kimi's hand so he could find his partner. His parents praised him for being so brave.
Kimi sat with both her parents, telling them about her suspicions about Takato since day one. She told them about how they met Ryo and how she took good care of Raiden in the monstrous world.
"Tell us about your partner." Sora asked, a small smile on her pale face.
"Oh.." Kimi looked back and forth between her parents before answering. "It was a Biyomon."
Sora's eyes actually lite up. "Really? I wonder if it was my Biyomon."
Kimi shrugged. "Maybe. She never digivolved into Birdramon though, she digivolved into Hououmon. This really big beautiful golden bird with a goddess like voice. She was the coolest digimon there." Kimi smiled proudly.
"I'm sure she took good care of you." Matt smiled softly at his oldest daughter.
"Ehh." Kimi wiggled her hand side-to-side to signify ify, or in-between.
Sora's face frowned. "You weren't mean to her, were you, Kimi?"
Kimi glared at her mother. "No! Why do you always assume I'm such a brat?!"
Matt sighed then got up and left the table. He went outside and lit up a ciggarette. Kimi frowned after her father then glared again at her mother.
"See what you always do?" She hissed at her frowning mother then went out after her dad.
He was standing there, smoking. His left hand in his pants pocket, the other holding his cancer stick. He was staring out into the forest as if he was daydreaming. Kimi pushed her hair behind her ears then cleared her throat. Matt looked over at her.
"Dad...why do you get so upset when someone brings up Takato's mother?" Kimi folded her hands together, waiting for an answer.
Matt looked out into the trees again, then let out some smoke. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to his daughter. "Look at the pictures."
Kimi took his phone a little confused then started looking through his pictures. She smirked as she passed the ones of her or her siblings, even a couple of her mom and dad together but then her smirk faded away.
She found Matt's favorite picture; Max on Tai's back, wearing Matt's sweater. She then looked through more of the pictures. She found another picture of Matt and Max together, Max sitting on Matt's lap and her arm around his neck as they sat on a wooden swing. Another picture made Kimi's heart drop; it showed Max standing there in a lovely long black prom dress, her hair up in a cute bun, she was covering her mouth looking down at someone who was holding her hand. Matt was bent on one knee, holding Max's hand, wearing a sharp black tuxedo.
"You wanted to marry her?" Kimi slowly looked up at her father in disbeielf.
Matt nodded as he took another long drag. "But she didn't love me..obviously." Matt rolled his eyes thinking of Izzy. He then glanced down at Kimi who was rubbing her arm awkwardly. "Don't tell your mother I told you. She hates when I talk about her." He laid his hand out for his phone. Kimi nodded then placed his phone back in his hand.
"I love you dad.." Kimi didn't know what else to say.
Matt smirked, putting his arm around her. "I love you too, red."
Emiko was popping a potato chip in her mouth as she sat next to Ryo. The boy was eating a ham and turkey sandwich Kari had made for him. It was his favorite food.
"You didn't have to hit him that hard. " Emiko said then popped another chip in her mouth. She seemed to have calmed down a lot, and was enjoying Ryo's company.
Ryo swallowed a bite. "Yes I did."
"Well, you didn't need that big of a stick." Emiko licked the grease off her fingers.
Ryo nodded before taking another bite. "Yeah, I did."
"Is that all you can say?" Emiko tilted her head at him.
Ryo smirked then stole a chip from her hand, popping it in his mouth. "Nope."
Emiko blushed a little but laughed at the witted boy.
Tai was sitting alone in the living room. His hands were folded together tightly and his head was lowered. He silently sniffled and a tear drop hit the wooden floor. An oreo cookie then came into Tai's vision. He looked up.
"Have an oreo, Uncle Tai. It will make you feel better." Raiden's smiled beamed like sunshine at his Uncle.
Tai smirked a little then wiped his eyes before taking the cookie. "Thanks, kiddo." He took a bite of the chocolate cookie.
"Momentai, Uncle. Takato will be back in no time and then we will go find Auntie Max." Raiden gave the adult a thumbs up, making him smile.
"Ya know, you are just like your parents." Tai commented, just as he noticed T.K. standing the in the archway watching them. He smirked at Tai.
Takato groaned then batted his eyes open. As his eyes focused he noticed he was back in his bedroom. "Whoa.." He sighed outloud then noticed his father sitting beside him in a chair.
"Dad, I just had the craziest dream!" Takato sat up a bit quickly, making himself dizzy.
"Take it easy."
Takato went to rub at his head but stopped when he felt a bandage there. He looked at his dad.
"It wasn't a dream..."
Izzy frowned and shook his head at Takato.
"Dad," Izzy looked up at Takato. "We have to get mom back."
This chapter was mainly about seeing the relationships between the parents and their children. And no, sorry I don't plan on really introducing Emiko nor Ryo's family. I hope to have the next chapter up soon. So, please REVIEW and favorite :D
I'm on Takato and Tai's side, let's go get Max back! But how dangerous will it be to return back there? What has Izzy and Max so worried about everyone's safety that they would go behind everyone's back and make that big decision. I guess you'll have to come back to find out on another,
