Jason just finished his class in chemistry. He's just going through the motion for the last few days. Between the fallout of the Blackest Night, classes, studying for any upcoming tests, and the thought of no longer being able to be turn into Firestorm has been heavy on Jason's shoulders. Just so much has happen in such little time has been took much for the young man.

"Jason?" he turns around to see a classmate of his, "Jason, hi. I'm Kelly. From the Chemistry Club. I sat behind you last week. I brought those cupcakes. You didn't want one, but I'm bring cinnamon rolls next time. I wondered if maybe you wanted to study?"

"We don't have our test for two weeks," Jason says for he really doesn't feel like studying right now.

"It's never too early, is it?" clearly she is flirting with Jason, but he doesn't see it.

"Thanks, but I study better alone," and just like that Jason begins to walk away.

"If you change your mind, I'm on Facebook, okay,"

"Okay, thanks."

Jason leaves the university grounds to were there is so construction going on. He ignores what is going on around him.

"Hey, Jason?"

"What?" he turned to see if someone is calling him out again.

"What's the atomic structure of bubble gum?"

Jason didn't even think about it as he just go so. The metal girders become pink, and because of the weight from the crane up above causes them to move. The metal continues to change into pink bubble gum.

"The girders!" cried out one of the construction workers.

"What's happening to them!?" asked another construction worker, "Sound the emergency alarm!"

"Oh, no! Someone needs to help someone… Me!" while Jason was told that he can't transform into Firestorm he still has the mindset to be a hero. He's been a hero long enough to run towards the danger, but right now he needs some help.

Over in Ronnie's room. We find Ronnie passed out at his desk using one of his books for a pillow. Hard drinking the previous night has caused him to sleep most of the day away.

"Ronnie,"

"Huh?" he ignores the fact that no one is in the room with him.

"Time to wake up, sport!" an atomic symbol appears at Ronnie's forehead with him teleporting away.

oxoxoxooxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Firestorm appears at the construction site. He looks around wondering how he got here. This doesn't look like his room.

"My head's killing me. Something's wrong," Jason says for he never felt like this before. He's been sick before, but this is different. It's like his head is fixing to split open.

"That's my bad. Late night," Ronnie says as he looks around. Because he transformed into Firestorm the sun doesn't hurt his eyes.

"Are you hung over?"

"I think I might still be drunk. Man, why'd you do this so early on a Tuesday?"

"It's noon," that's not too bad, "And it's Wednesday," okay that's worst. That means Ronnie's been asleep for a whole day. One would say that he has a drinking problem.

But none of that matters because the scream of the falling construction worker causes Firestorm to look up. The whole crane turned into bubble gum and the worker fell through because his weight couldn't be held by the gum.

"What are you waiting for!? Fly!" shouted out Jason.

"What? Where?" that hangover must be worst then Ronnie thought.

"UP!" Firestorm takes to the skies and fly upward, "I don't know how it happened, but that crane turned into bubble gum. That guy fell out,"

"You mean those two guys," now Firestorm's vision is seeing doubles.

"To the right! Fly to the right!" demands Jason as he tries to aim Firestorm to the right direction. The hangover isn't effecting like it is with Ronnie.

"Hey, I got this. I've been flying since I was fifteen," just as Firestorm says that he missed the falling construction work, "Whoops!"

"Whoops!?" Jason can't believe he just watched that, "What are you waiting for? Go after him!"

"Oh, yeah! Yeah!" he chase after the falling construction worker, "Okay, uh, I'm not that fast. Just need to make something… A giant bowl of ice cream? What's the atomic structure of ice cream?"

Ronnie thinks over the atomic structure for ice cream, but nothing comes to mind. He then goes over different atomic structures for different items that could catch someone without hurting them. Thinking of one Firestorm blasts the ground below. A large air bag appears with the construction worker landing on the large air bag.

Firestorm flies over to make sure the construction worker is alright, "Is he okay?" asked Jason

"Hey, man, are you…. Uh…"

"What's wrong now?"

"I don't feel so…" Firestorm pukes up black liquid that covers the construction worker.

"You just threw up on him!" Jason again can't believe what he just saw. Firestorm just puked on someone. A hero just puked on someone he just saved. The news will just love that when they hear about that.

"What's the atomic structure of mouthwash?" Firestorm flies away leaving behind a trail of fire.

"Aren't you going to apologize? Ronnie?"

"You're an idiot, Ronnie!"

"I'm not…" Ronnie is getting tried of hearing that he's an idiot. He shares his mind with one of the smartest people in the world. He may not be fast, but he did come out with more knowledge because of that.

"Not? Not what?" Ronnie ignores him and flies out to the park, "Ronnie! What are you going?"

"Away. I can't… I can't fly straight…"

"How totally tragic," again that voice calls out as Firestorm crashes into the ground, "You can't hide how pathetic you've become of how far you've fallen!" Firestorm rolls onto his hands and knees, "You were the youngest dude the Justice League ever offered membership to!"

"I know!"

"What did they ever see in Ronnie Raymond besides a kid who can't deal when the dealing gets tough?"

"If you stop yelling at me, I could focus again. I could be what everyone taught me to be. What I was. A good guy, but after what I did…"

"What you did?" Jason was to wonder what Ronnie is going on about. Ronnie just started talking about how he wants to show everyone that he can be a great hero for no reason.

"I don't want to think. All I think about is h- her. What I did to Gehenna!" that has been driving Ronnie to drink. The memories of what he did while he was a Black Lantern lingers. He hoped that drinking himself to death and his liver would make the memories go away.

"Ronnie? You remember it? How? No one else remembers what they did when they were used by the Black Rings!" this is new to Jason.

And what Jason said was true. When those that came back don't remember what they did. Black Canary went through all the heroes and villains that became Black Lanterns to see if they remember anything; even if it was just a single memory, but nothing.

"I can't get it out of my head," Ronnie confess for the guilt has become too much for the young man, "She was so scared and I'm so… I'm so sorry Jason,"

"Yeah, he's sorry, Jace. But me? Not so much,"

"Who said that?"

Ronnie turned to face the image of Jason's face that only he can see, "You heard that?"

"Yeah,"

"I though I was going crazy," and all the drinking that he's been doing.

"Ronnie… I think someone else is in here. We need to find Professor Stein."

-Southern Coast of the United States-

Arthur is standing on the beach as he is surrounded by dead fish. The waves come crashing to the shores leaving behind black oil from the oil spill. The oil spill reached so far from the middle of the ocean to all the way to the shores of a beach. Mera on the other hand is standing rock that is urrounded by the black oil in the water.

"What are you talking about?" Arthur asks for he is making sure that he heard Mera right.

"I was sent here to kill you," confesses Mera

"I heard you the first time, Mera," he wants to know why.

"Arthur, please… give me a chance to explain,"

"What do you think I'm doing?" he has to know, "We've been through too much together for me not to. Sp please, Mera. Tell me the truth,"

"The truth is…" Mera look at her husband in the eyes, "I've lied to you from the very first day we met. The place I come from… Xebel… Isn't only an underwater world sealed from this one. It's a penal colony," a colony for criminals that couldn't be put in normal prisons, "Or that's what it started out as centuries ago when a group of sparatusuts was banished from Atlantis during one of their many civil wars. Thousands were sealed off in the Atlantic behind an impenetrable invisible centuries, they fought to escape what most today call the Bermuda Triangle. But they Father, our King, trained me from birth to he his ultimate weapon. To be his instrument of hate against the Atlanteans. And I embraced that hate without question or hesitation. When a fissure in the field was discovered, a fissure that would only allow one of us through before it was sealed off, my Father chose me. He chose me to find the King of Atlantis and assassinate him."

Mera was told that those from Atlantis didn't care about them. Those in Xebel weren't worth their. That they feared their power so they were locked up in the Bermuda Triangle. That the King of Atlantis is the worst of them all. But when Mera came to Atlantis; there she learned otherwise. Arthur was nothing like she was told. He never acted like the world was his for the taking. She saw how the Atlanteans treated him for he wasn't a full Atlantean, and he had blonde hair and blue eyes. Something that is said to bring bad luck.

"But then I met you. And I learned the King of Atlantis wasn't anything like what I had been told. I did my best to bury who I was and where I came from. And for the first time in my life… I was happy."

Falling in love with Arthur, marrying him, and having a son between the two of them. Mera was so happy that she let her guard down. With her guard down something happened that she wished it was her that paid the price.

"Until Black Manta murdered our son. I blamed you. But it was as much my fault as anyone's. Black Manta knew of my people, Arthur. He met them before he ever met Aquaman. Our child's death was as much revenge on you as it was on me,"

"The ones that attacked us on the oil rig?"

"Xebel soldiers. Leg by my replacement as leader of the Death Squad. Siren. My younger sister."

-Erdel's Lab-

J'onn flown outside to see that the nearby trees are being effected by whatever is killing them. He floats up to a squall that is sitting up in a dead tree.

"I am relieved to see you, little one," he holds out his hand to the squall, "I thought any living organisms in close proximity to me would continue to die," the squall jumps on his hand and runs up his arm to sit on his shoulder, "By the Grace of H'ronmeer, that is obviously not the case," he put the squall on the ground, "But the Green Matter within a certain radius of my presence does continue to die unabated," only plant life is effected, "Let's just hope one of my worst fears is not realized."

-Still Zone-

The Still Zone is a prison created for the White Martians were the civil war between the Green and White Martians ended. Being exiled in an extra dimension. The Still Zone works just like the Phantom Zone. J'onn traveled all the way here to make sure that none of the White Martians have escaped, and aren't the one that is causing all this death.

"Computer, please perform a diagnostic security and atmospheric check on all levels on this White Martian Mothership," J'onn says to the computer that controls the Still Zone.

"Prime codeword requested,"

"T'ann T'azz,"

"Codeword confirmed. Thank you, J'onn J'onzz. Proceeding with disagnostic check. All White Martians is stasis chamber accounted for. Status green. All security full power at this time,"

"Excellent. Thank you." J'onn says for his worst fears haven't came true.

-Batcave-

With his fear above one of the White Martians running free put to rest; J'onn came to the Batcave in his search to find the killing. Batman doesn't just let anyone into his Batcave. He only let's those who he trusts like the founding members of the Justice League of those that he's worked with for years.

"I appreciate you helping me with this matter, Miss Gordon. I realized it's late, but I recalled your hours being tied into this nocturnal activity of Birds and Bats,"

"Not a problem, J'onn, the night time is usually the fight time, and please, call me Barbara," says the wheelchair bound woman, "There seems to be a lot of firewalls I need to go through, but I should have something up on the screen in just a few… Ah, here it is, there have been over a dozen murders that fit the method of killing you described in detail," explains Barbara as she goes over the information that is running on her screen.

"I apologize for the graphic nature of my request," J'onn said for no one should have to see these images.

"No need to, J'onn," growing up in Gotham and being a daughter of a cop one kind of get use to seeing this kind of thing, "After what my Father and I went through at police headqarters a few months back with those horrific Black Lanterns, not much can faze me anym…" she pauses because J'onn was one of those Black Lanterns, "Oh, that was… I apologize; I forgot that you were… um… your body was put into a dreadful situation that…"

"There's no need to apologize either, Barbara, please continue," J'onn knows that she didn't mean to bring that up. A lot of people don't like to talk about the Blackest Night. It brought the worst out in some people.

"Okay, well, the timing of each of these murders starts pretty soon after the date you gave me for your arrival here on Earth, and the victims skins have never been accounted for,"

"Why hasn't there been more press regarding a decades long killing spree?"

"Sub files…" the redhead mutters out.

"Sub flies?" J'onn never heard of the term before.

Barbara leans forward with her taking her coffee in hand, "Yes, these are cases buried as deep as submarine under the ocean can go, no public scrutiny, need-to-know basis, very hush hush,"

The Last Martian place both of his hands on the computer, "And why is that?" that doesn't make since for the police to do something like that. Unless there was some form of corruption that caused it.

"These cases get tagged this way when there's a hint of Meta powered involvement, of when it scares the feds so badly because they have no idea what the hell happened," it would kinda make sense. The police really don't have anyway to do anything like that if a Metahuman decides to go on a killing spree.

"So they come up with a cover story for the brutal murders?"

"Home fires, car crashes, drowning; as you can see on the screens, they've explained away all these deaths with mundane, everyday accidents that can be accepted by relatives and others more easily than the actual outcome,"

"Hmm?" something caught the Last Martian's eye.

"What is it, J'onn?"

"The method by which these people have been killed has a certain resonance,"

"A possible past case?"

"I never seen anything like this before, but I cannot ignore the nagging familiarity. Can you please contact Titans Tower?" something is biting at the back of the Martian Manhunter's mind. Like it was something he learned on Mars. Something that his people would do, but for the life of him he can't remember.

It didn't take long as Superboy appears on the screen, "Titans Tower, this is Oracle. I have J'onn J'onzz here,"

"What's up, Oracle? Hey there, J'onn, what can we help you with?" Superboy asks.

"Hello, Superboy. I need a telepath on immense strength to aid me in a situation. Could you please link me with M'gann M'orzz at her current location,"

"Miss Martian's gone walkabout," stated Superboy.

"Walkabout?"

"She's on the reserve roster; left for her place in Tanami, Australia to unplug. Get a little rest and relaxation before she's on active duty again. I'm sending over a doc with the lat and long where she's holed up. Tell M'gann to give us a shout, we miss her. Nighty night,"

"I will, and thank you, Superboy." the information didn't take very long with Barbara printing them out for J'onn, "And thank you, Barbara,"

"It's good to have you back, J'onn,"

"Yes, I hope so,"

J'onn left with Barbara turning back to look where he was standing, "I hope so?" the redhead didn't like how J'onn worded that. It sounded like he was going to die. And in this line of work that is never a good omen.

-Tanami Desert, Australia-

J'onn flies through the hot desert that reminds him the deserts of Mars. He can see why M'gann chose to live here during her off time. He lands in front of a stone pyramid that other Martian built.

"Sorry to intrude, M'gann, but I have been trying to contact you for the last several hours telepathically while en route with no- M'GANN!" M'gann is hanging from the ceiling covered in wounds. Purple blood is dripping down forming a pool. Her injures are so bad that she is having a hard time killing a human form, but also killing her Green Martian form as her White Martian features are showing.

-Georgetown-

Dawn has taken Boston to a Big Belly Burger that has a special going. Boston can smell the burgers being cooked in the kitchen and his stomach is just growling at the smell alone.

"Order up!" called out the cook with him placing both plates for the waitress to come and get them.

The waitress walks over to Dawn and Boston with her placing a place that looks like a club sandwich, "Two cheeseburgers with the works and an egg salad sandwich,"

"Thank you," says Dawn for she loves coming to Big Belly Burger for they make the best burgers and sandwiches.

"Oh, uh, thanks,"

"You're both very welcome. Enjoy now." the waitress walks off to attend to other costumers.

Boston looks down at his plate. Being dead for so long one kinda forgets how to eat. Plus he hasn't eaten anything since the mid sixties.

"Well?" Dawn asked since she can tell that something is bothering the former Deadman.

"Well, what?"

"The Ring revealed your deep dark secret love for cheeseburgers," she couldn't keep a chuckle in at that thought, "What are you waiting for?"

Boston picks up his burger. Look at it for he doesn't remember cheeseburgers being this big before. He guess that over time they found a few to have more meat in the burgers to have a more feeling meal. He sinks his teeth into the buns, meat, cheese, tomato, and lettuce. The taste from everything in the burger come at him all at once.

Dawn rest her face in her hand as she watches Boston lose himself in the burger, "As good as you remember?" a smile make way on her face.

"Better actually! Thanks for bringing me here, Dawn," Boston says with his mouth full.

"Hank says it's the best cheeseburger in town so you can thank him. So tell me something about yourself," Dawn wanted to know more about Boston. Everyone in the whole Justice League has heard of Deadman, but never worked with him without knowing if he helped or not. The only people that worked with Deadman were those of Sentinels of Magic, Batman, or Justice League Dark.

"I, um, I think I've told you everything. Used to be dead. Now I'm not,"

"Before all that," like what he did for a living, how he lived his life, his likes, and his dislikes.

"My life wasn't anything special. I wasn't," and that was the truth. Boston didn't see his life was anything special before his death.

"Everyone's special in their own way, Boston. Do you think that Ring brought you to me for a reason?" Dawn leans forward.

"A… reason?"

"I thought, maybe it was looking for Hank, but the voice from the Ring is the same voice I heard when Nekron was on Earth," Dawn will never forget that voice as she used her powers to fight against the dead to make sure they didn't come back during the Blackest Night, "I think I'm connected to you. To it, I mean,"

"I just wish I knew why it picked me," Boston stated for he was dragged through everything because he was just there. Like how the Hindu Goddess Rama Kushna, the Goddess of Balance wanted him bring balance and justice.

"You don't seem happy to be getting a second chance at life,"

"Neither does your boyfriend,"

"Hank's not my boyfriend. He's my partner," Dawn has to wonder why people think they're a couple. Just because she's a woman and his a man; and they work together doesn't mean they're a couple. It's like people think Hawkman and Hawkwoman are a couple when in fact they're not.

"Partner in what?"

"We were given our respective powers by a force from beyond our world. Hank became the Avatar of War. I became the Avatar of Peace," Dr. Fate believe they somehow work for the Lords of Chaos and Order because how their powers work.

"How are you war and peace supposed to work together?" talk about two sides of the same coin.

"Some have theorized it's a great cosmic experiment. Other's like myself, see it more as a force from beyond guiding me through a personal journey. I'm here to help Hank control his anger and find a balance in his life,"

"And what's Hawk do for Dove in return?"

"I protect her," Hank came back from the bathroom with him taking his burger.

"I don't need protection," Dawn stated for she learned to take care of herself.

"The jukebox is broken," Hank ignores what Dawn just said. He knows Dawn doesn't need any protection. Just like how his brother, Donald, didn't need protection when he was Dove. It's a matter of balance.

"IT was just playing the Dixie Chicks,"

"That's why I broke it," he takes a bite of his burger, "Look, as moronic as it is that the Ring said to "eat a cheeseburger," hurry up and do it. It's our only lead in unraveling the big, bad mystery of why we're both back,"

"I hope you enjoyed your meal!"

A white light envelopes the three of them.

-Silver City, New Mexico-

Dove, Hawk, and Deadman are teleported to where the White Lantern is still sitting at. During the teleportion Hank and Dawn were transformed into their customs.

"Boston Brand of Earth. You are ready!"

"Jackson, look! I told you it was worth coming to see this thing. Superheroes!"

Jackson was dragged by his girlfriend to come and see the White Lantern. Jackson really didn't want to come, but he really didn't have a say.

"Hey, you stay away from that! We're under strict orders from Green Lantern-"

"This guy's wearing a Ring that matches the Lantern. We got it covered, officers," Hawk called out to the officers.

"That's all well and good, but we should call Green Lantern before you go on and do anything," said the other officer.

Hawk reaches over and tires to lift the White Lantern, "Hawk, we don't know if we can trust the… Lantern," says Dove for she is trying to make sure Hawk doesn't do something that might cause any problems.

"Well, let's at least look at nnnggghhf!" Hawk tries once more lifting the White Lantern, "Dawn thing's stuck,"

Hawk backs away with Boston coming over and easily lift the White Lantern, "No, it's not," he doesn't see how Hawk had a hard time trying to lift the White Lantern.

"Boston, wait. We don't know what this could do to you," Dove doesn't know what the White Lantern can do. Sure she knows how the other Lanterns work, but no one knows anything about this White Lantern, or what it could do.

"I need to know, Dove. I need to know why we're back,"

"Jackson? Are you all right?"

Jackson leans around the squad car with his tattoos lighting up. The pain was something he wasn't expecting, "I feel… weird, Maria…"

Looking at the White Lantern in his hand, "All right, Lantern, why did you bring us back?" the White Lantern shines a bright white light.

"Boston Brand of Earth! You need to embrace life!"

The light was so bright that it causes Deadman to appear wearing all white. With power overflowing not just Deadman, but others as well.

"BOSTON!" shouted out Dove

"NO! St- Stay back, Dove! I need to know… who are you?"

"I am the Entity and I have watched over this world from the beginning of existence. But I am dying. A replacement must be chosen. Each one of you has returned to protect this world until the arrival of its new champion!"

Hawk screams out in pain as he becomes a White Lantern once more as a copy of the White Ring appears on his finger. The symbol of the White Lantern Corps appears on his chest only with the symbol appearing in his eyes.

"Yes. Tell me." said Hawk, "Why did you bring me back?!"

-Tanami Desert, Australia-

"M'gann… Stay with me. I need you to focus. Focus on my voice," J'onn gotten M'gann down making sure her wounds aren't made worst.

"J- J'onn…"

"Good girl. Now open your mind, M'gann. Focus on my thoughts; hang on to them. Let them give you the strength to regain…"

"J'onn J'onzz of Mars!"

J'onn becomes a White Lantern with his costume becoming white as a White Ring comes into existence on his finger appears.

"Burn it!"

J'onn looks around to see that he is standing in a burning forest. The Last Martian watches himself burning the forest down with his laser eyes.

"Burn it down. Burn all of it!"

"NO! Stop! You're!" just as quickly as it came the images disappeared with him appearing back at Tanami Desert with him holding M'gann, "Killing it?" not just that, but he isn't a White Lantern anymore.

"Um, hi, J'onn," says M'gann with her wounds have been healed.

"M'gann… your wounds… They're gone,"

"J'onn, we have more important things to worry about. I think there's another Martian out there."

-Pittsburgh University-

Firestorm found Professor Stein working in his lab. Stein was not happy when he'd seen Firestorm standing right in front of him. He told both Jason and Ronnie to not to turn into Firestorm. The professor could understand Ronnie wanting to transform into Firestorm, but he thought Jason knew better.

"I told you forming Firestorm was dangerous Ronald. I told both of you," Professor Stein makes way down the hallway to his office.

"A man almost died, Professor. What choice did we have?" Ronnie tries to defend for the both of them.

"Look, tell him I did it if you need to," Jason told the other half of Firestorm.

"He can't be mad at me forever," Ronnie doesn't see the professor holding a grudge for too long.

"I'm not mad at either one of you. I'm…" he pauses just before his door.

"Something's bothering him. Ask him-"

But before Jason could finish Ronnie already beat him to it, "What is it, Professor?"

Stein slightly turned to face Firestorm, "This is all my fault,"

"What is? The voice we're hearing?"

Professor Stein fully turns around, "The explosion. The problems that have plagued each one of you since you've become bonded with the Firestorm Matrix. This voice is most likely a manifestation of the third and final stage of Firestorm," Professor Stein explains to Firestorm.

Third and final stage of Firestorm? What's that mean?"

Professor Stein lets Firestorm into his office with him closing the door behind him, "I need to show you both something… and I hope you can forgive me,"

"Ronald Raymond of Earth! You need to study!"

"What?"

Then in a flash of white light Firestorm transform into a White Lantern. Surging with power that not even Firestorm knew he could have.

"Jason Rusch of Earth! You need to get your head out of the books. Learn from each other so you can stop him!"

An image of Deathstorm appears in their mind with him holding up a broken Black Lantern, "They can't! Hahaha!"

"Don't let him destroy me!"

And just like how fast it came it ended with Firestorm on his knees breathing heavy. Never have Firestorm felt anything like that. Not even when he was Deathstorm.

Stein rushes over to Firestorm, "Ronald!? Jason!?"

"Did you see that?"

"I don't know… I think…" Firestorm stands to reveal that he has dark skin. Somehow during the short time he was a White Lantern just now switched Jason to take control of the body.

"If you think you can hold me in here much longer, you're wrong! Soon I'll be free to destroy that White Lantern!" proclaims Deathstorm.

-Hawkworld-

Carter grabs the white lion who is eating a piece of meat by the main, "What the hell are you talking about!? There's no such thing as Hawkworld!" Carter should know that there will always be a possibility that a world like this could exist.

"I beg to differ," says the white lion who continues to eat.

"You're going to be begging for mercy unless you tell-" the threat looms in the air for the white lions tribe members come out of the jungle with their leader being in danger.

"That's where you are, boy; Hawkworld. And by the looks of those wings I'd say you fit right in here," the white lion waves him tribe members off from attacking. He can try that this man in front of him is confessed.

Carter lets go of the white lion and put his helmet back on, "Where is she?" Hawkman asks since this tribe must know where those hawk people took Sandra and the others.

"I take it you're referring to the girl who was smashing my brethren's heads in?" he looks at the helmet that was knocked off from Kendra's head during the fighting.

"You were trying to eat us,"

"That's true, point taken, and you didn't show any allegiance to the Manhawks when they attacked so that's in your favor at the moment. Your woman is where they take everyone, my winged friend; up there!"

"Then that's where I'm-" Hawkman becomes a White Lantern with him hearing a voice and seeing a vision.

"Carter Hall of Earth! Don't let them leave this world! Stop the Queen!"

Carter can see a patch of land being ripped up from a city. He doesn't know why this land is being taken, or how, but he does know that it can't be good if he's hearing this voice telling him that it would end poorly. When the light disappeared Carter dropped to his knees.

"The White Light!"

"Who are you?"

"Don't you realize, it is the Prophecy! This human will bring an end to Hawkworld!"

-Nth City-

"Prepare her for the arena! We're under orders to get those wings off her! They aren't even real. She's a pretender!"

Kendra was taken along with those that were captured. Everyone was put in a cage that is hanging hundreds of feet in the air. That means even if somehow someone were to escape then they would just fall to their death. There was also no light, making it even more difficult for when the Manhawks would come in and torture those that are captured.

One of the Manhawks pokes his pike in the cage that Sandra is in and shocks her. She quickly grab hold of the pike, "I don't need wings!" and with a might thrust forces the pike into the Manhawk's chest, "To take care of you!"

A White Light shines out of Kendra's body making her into a White Lantern. This is something strange because Kendra never died. She didn't even die during the Blackest Night, yet she was made into a White Lantern. It most likely because she has been dying over the centuries to only be reborn again. Meaning her soul somehow was called out to the White Light.

"Kendra Saunders of Earth! If your lover dies here, there is no more resurrection. Save him from Hath-Set!"

Kendra saw a vision of Hath-Set stabbing Carter in the chest with a steak and hammer. But what was strange about the vision is that Hath-Set has a set of wings. Breathing heavy Kendra grab hold of the bars to make sure she doesn't fall to her knees.

"Hath…" Hath-Set himself walks out of the darkness so that the reincarnation of Chay-Ara can take a good look at him.

"That little demonstration of power was quite interesting. The Queen will be very pleased,"

"Your Queen? Who the hell is she?" demands Kendra for all her memories from her past lives never showed Hath-Set with a queen.

"She is the love of my life, and the end of yours." Hath-Set stated to the woman he once loved.

-Southern Coast of the United States-

Arthur just stands there taking in what Mera just told him. He can't believe that the woman he loved was sent here to kill him. Yet somehow he won her heart to not only love him, marry him, and started a family together.

"Arthur…" Mera push some of her hair behind her ear as the wind decided to pick up, "I never wanted to hurt you,"

Arthur kneels down to the oil water that is washing up onto the shore, "I know, Mera," he honestly believes his wife, "And honestly, it changes nothing between us. We've been through far too much together,"

Mera seeing this as a chance to finaly to get close to her husband walks through the oil, "Arthur, we need to go to Atlantis. You need protection from my Sister and her mercenaries. Whatever they have planned against the Surface World goes beyond assassination you,"

"Arthur Curry of Earth! Find him! Find him first! Before they do!"

Arthur was turned into a White Lantern with the vision of a young man with electricity sparking out of his arms. Arthur dropped to his knees with him returning to normal. All the oil in the water has been cleaned up. Crystal blue waters crashing along the shoreline. The fish there were dead are now flapping around with them coming back to life.

"The water on the shore… It's clean. The fish alive," Arthur looks into the clean water with the fish quickly as they can to get back into the water, "I think is is much bigger than me, Mera. I think this is affecting everyone."

Kushina sees herself dying in her son's arm just like all those years ago. And just like before, she dies while protecting him from a monster that came back for revenge.

"Hank Hall of Earth! Catch the boomerang!"

Hawk sees himself holding a bloody and dead Dove.

"DOVE!?" Hawk shouted out for he wasn't expecting to see Dove dying. Him, yes, but not Dove.

"If you want to truly live again, help me!"

Boston pick the White Lantern back down and looks at his White Ring, "What do you mean if we want to truly live?"

"Life is a gift, Boston Brand. The Chosen One knows that better than anyone,"

"But who is it? Who is… the Chosen One?"

"A new protector of Earth must rise. And like every good Ring scanning for a sentient replacement, Boston Brand of Earth; you will find them."

"I know why we're back," says Boston for he saw everyone's vision that they saw.

"That's because I told you, Boston Brand,"

"I saw visions of everyone. Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, Maxwell Lord-" Boston list off several names before Dove cuts him off.

"Who's Maxwell Lord?" Dove hasn't been around long enough to know who Maxwell Lord is.

"Maxwell Lord must stop the war before it starts,"

"Hold up, Deadman. The Lantern said we were back to help the arrival of another hero?!" Hawk rubs his wrists making sure there aren't any strings there, "I'm not a puppet. I'm not back to help some other guy,"

"Or woman," Dove chimes in as the White Light didn't say any gender.

"I'm back to get a second chance at waging war against crime,"

"Maybe so, Hawk. But the White Lantern needs you to help set the stage for someone else," Boston explains this to the Avatar of War, "I don't like it anymore than you, but if carrying out these missions is the only way to get this White Ring off my finger; I don't have a choice

"What'd the Lantern say to you, Hawk?" she never seen Hawk yelled out like that before. It kind of scared her.

"It said I was brought back to protect you," what Hawk said was true. He has always protect Dove, be it his brother or now Dawn. Nothing really changed. Hawk will always protect Dove.

"From what?" Dove turned to Deadman, "Boston, ask the Ring why I need protection,"

Boston brings up the Ring close to his face, "Ring, what's Dove need protection from?"

"We all need protection. And we need a new protector. So start searching,"

He quickly brought the Ring away from his face for its gathering a lot of power, "And as soon as I find the Chosen One, you'll cut me losse, right? You'll let me get on with… whatever I'm going to get on with. If anyone can give me some pointers on finding the person who's supposed to take my place, it's Green Lantern,"

"Deadman, wait-" Dove shouted out.

"You both have done enough, Dove. Really. Ring, take me to Hal Jordan,"

"DOVE! Hawk saw Dove grab hold of Deadman before they both teleported away, "Dove?"

-Coney Island-

Kushina leans forward trying to catch her breath. She just saw herself dying once more for her son. Dying to a man that is a Black Lantern. Someone who fought her son in the past.

'I have to do something about this! I have to make sure that nothing happens to Naruto! I died for him once, I'll die for him again!' Kushina told herself.

Slapping her cheeks to wake her. Right now that vision has nothing to do for this day! This day is a day for fun with her grandchildren! The redhead is going to make sure they have so much fun that they'll tell their friends and make them jealous.

-Tanami Desert, Australia-

"I was dying; and you healed me, J'onn. You became something… bright… intense,"

"It seems I became a White Lantern," stated J'onn for he remembers when he became a White Lantern during the Blackest Night. No one forgets that kind of power.

"Yeah, I could feel your light burning through me, but it didn't hurt; I don't understand how did-"

"There are many questions that need answers since my… resurrection, but right now the most important one is; who did this to you, M'gann?" J'onn has come to see M'gann has family even if she is a White Martian. It is true with M'gann for she'd came to see J'onn as an uncle.

"A Martian," M'gann looks away for she doesn't want her uncle figure to look down on her. She only fought to defeat herself and not to hurt the other Martian.

"You are the only White Martian left on the planet. I checked the stasis chamber in the Still Zone. All the White Martians are accounted-"

"No, she was a Green Martian, J'onn," she cut him off for it wasn't a White Martian that attacked her. She would know, for the Green Martian that attacked her was ruthless.

"That's not possible; whoever it was must have manipulated their form to deceive-"

"It was no trick, J'onn. I penetrated her thought before she blocked me out," M'gann wouldn't forget those thoughts. Those thoughts that only wanted death and murder. She never felt anything like that from a Green Martian.

J'onn paste around not believing what M'gann, but he knows that she wouldn't make up a lie like that, "I am the last of my kind. The plague wiped out everyone. The only answer is that another White Martian must have eluded the Justice League and assimilated itself into the population. But why lie dormant for so long?"

M'gann takes J'onn's hand and place it on her forehead with the finger melting through, "I'm opening myself to you; my mind is yours, J'onn. Be me… and see what you can see."

-Flashback-

The Green Martian attacked M'gann ruthlessly from out of nowhere, "Did you really think you could hide from me, girl?" the Green Martian fired heat beams out of her eyes while her left arm wraps around M'gann's right arm.

'Who are you!?' M'gann fires her heat beams at the Green Martian's left arm. That thing moves on its own. She also tries to enters the Green Martian's mind to find out who she is. A Green Martian. M'gann hasn't seen another Green Martian in such a long time she thought J'onn was the only one left.

The Green Martian then throws M'gann onto the ground, "Is that your idea of trying to get inside my mind? You should be ashamed of yourself. You dishonor your Martian heritage with such a coarse psychic intrusion. A Martian toddler could traipse across my mindscape with more finesse than you demonstrate here today," this Green Martian berates M'gann by saying she is weak for a psychic. The Green Martian shove her hand into M'gann's head to read her mind, "Here, let me show you how it's done!"

The pain was so terrible that M'gann loses some of her green skin. Bites of white show up here and there. Her eyes become white and her teeth become fangs. The Green Martian shows just how powerful she is.

"Ah, sent from Mars by rocket to the Vega System to escape the civil war between the Green and Whites, were you?"

"G- Get out of m- my h- head…" M'gann tries to fight back, but the Green Martian is just too powerful for her.

"And this place; this Outback as you call it. Makes you feel comfy, hmm, reminds you of home and all that you left behind?" the Green Martian leans closer with a second mouth opening up on the forehead, "Well, let me remind you that; wait, it's all a lie! You're a lie!" the Green Martian takes a closer look to see that M'gann isn't a Green Maritna, but in fact a White Martian.

M'gann found enough strength to fire her heat beams. Though the Green Martian split her head in half to dodge that heat beams.

"You dare pose as a Green, when all you are is a warmongering, and loathsome, vile, WHITE MARTIAN!" in a fit of rage the Green Martian throws M'gann into the ground, "Did you really think hiding under this disguise makes you worthy of his attention? You and J'onn would have as much in common psychically and physically as this rock!" looming over her with murderers intent, "You aren your kind could never be a true companion! You will never give him what a true Green Martian can! You are beneath me… You are beneath us! I leave you to die here alone!"

-Flashback End-

The psychic backlash caused both J'onn and M'gann that they both take a few steps back.

"No. It's true," the realization that J'onn isn't the last Martian dawns on him, "By the Grace of H'ronmeer… There is another Green Martian. I am not the last."

The knowledge that J'onn can have someone who survived the genocide of his people. That they can rebuild their culture, the people, show Earth just how great Mars was before the downfall.

-Hawkworld-

Hawkman follows the white lion along with his tribe member not to far behind them.

"Where are we going?" Carter asks since they've been walking for several hours.

"You said you wanted to know everything there is to know, so that's where we're going," answered the white lion.

"He is the Light,"

"I saw something; a city of green, a forest, being ripped into the air," Hawkman tells this to the white lion for he is trying to make it sure that the tribe members don't think he is some type of god.

"He is the one!"

"Enough, dammit! I am not a god; I have no idea what happened back there!" it seemed he failed at that.

"You sure about that, Earthman?" asked the White lion, "It's not every day we get a visitor here who suddenly erupts with bright white light and heals everyone around him,"

"At least I take it from your tone you believe me," at least Hawkman can tell that the white lion knows to believe what he is seeing and not what others think.

"I don't believe in Gods. I just believe in me. I am Tonrarr, the leader of this Lionmane Pride," explained Tonrarr as he fought for what he has. Gods don't help you in becoming a leader for your people. You have to work at it and become something.

"Lionmane? I've met you kind before," Hawkman told Tonrarr

"Where?" Tonrarr would like to know where more of his people are location. He's been looking for them for years so that they can have one big tribe.

"On the other side of the gateway,"

"Impossible, no Pride Members have ever left Hawkworld," at first Tonrarr believed Hawkman, but after hearing that one of the Lionmane is on the other side of the gateway is a little too hard to believe.

"Some has. Or someone like you." what Hawkman was thinking about it Ed Dawson and Karen Ramis.

Ed Dawson was an archaeologist looking for the Mithra stone with Karen Ramis. The Mithra stone is a meteor that has mystical powers. When Karen Ramis examined it, Ed witnessed her transforming into Lion-Mane. When it was repelled from Karen Ramis by Hawkman, Ed Dawson broke into the Mount St. Croix lab where the meteor was. It transformed him into Lion-Mane. When it came to his fight with Hawkman, Karen touched the stone taking half of the Lion-Mane power enough for Ed to be apprehended.

It was during this time that the Mithra stone holds the power of a lion avatar.

Karen Ramis was the first person to become Lion-Mane, but she didn't want the power. Hawkman saved her because she didn't want that power. Hawkman convinced her to fight the avatar and it left her seeking another host. Although now back in her human form, she still craved the meteor's power as it was more addictive than any other drug. When Hawkman was battling Ed Dawson, Karen used the only way to stop him as she again touched the Mithra stone. She was repowered, but not quiet Lion-Mane as she had been transformed into a near lion like state. Karen fled afterwards and hasn't been seen since.

"I need to find Kendra and find out what the hell that vision meant," Hawkman steps forward ahead of Tonrarr but the white lion quickly shoved Hawkman back.

"WATCH OUT!"

A body comes crashing down with blood and organs flying all over the place. The body is a member of the Lionemane tribe that was thrown. From what is left of the body shows that it fell from a great distance.

"This is what working in the Nth Metal mines gets you," Tonrarr stated for this isn't anything new for him to see, "After you're kidnapped you're sent to slave away removing Nth ore. When you're too weak to continue you're tossed away like garbage," the white lion looks up to show Hawkman the two massive statues. One of the statues is clearly human who is kneeling down and wielding a spear while the other statue is a Manhawk who is giving orders, "The ones above always throw the bodies here to make a point,"

Hawkman who is shocked to see such statues in this location, "These statues; who are they?"

"Their true names are lost to the ages. Follow me,"

"Where?"

"Into the leg."

Tonrarr leads Hawkman through a dark tunnel with them both lighting up two torches. Hawkman look at the walls to see cravings on them. Showing the history that the Lionmane tribe went through all these years while living under the Manhawks.

"Ah, we have arrived," Tonrarr shows Hawkman some of the oldest cravings, I give you… the History of Hawkworld. This cave drawing and the oral history passed from generation to generation is all that remains of it. But what we do know is that Hawkworld is a bridge between planets. Earth and Thanagar. Humans from your world came hundreds of thousand of years ago; they peacefully coexisted with every face here for eons… except the Hawks. The trust between the Earthlings and the Hawks was strained… and only made worse when Nth Metal was discovered by the Earthlings. They coveted it; especially the ability to fly. Wings meant power. The humans embraced the idea put forth by the small group of Earthlings that they were meant to rule by birthright. So that's what they did using fear and force, they governed us by turning all the races against each other to keep us from uniting and rebelling. But as time pass some of the humans grew tired of waring a never ending war. They allowed the bloodlines to merge, and that was when the secret portal to Thanagar was discovered. It gave the restless ones a new cause armed with Nth Metal and loyal blood relative Manhawks in tow, they raced to conquer a new world."

Tonrarr leads Hawkman further into the tunnel showing him more and more drawings and cravings.

"And left this one in chaos for another hundred thousand years along with the hidden secrets of the Nth Metal under our feet. Then as the story goes, suddenly, one day, another Earthing appeared, a female, who took complete control of the Manhawks and built and raised the Nth City into the clouds. It is there, to this day, that this Queen Shrike supposedly still resides for over two thousand years," explains the white lion with the thundering call for Hawkman.

"BRING OUT THE HEALER!"

"BRING OUT THE HEALER!"

"BRING OUT THE HEALER!"

"Sounds like our history lesson is being cut short,"

They head back out with the sun set some time ago with the darkness of night taking the jungle, "Yes, it seems word has spread quickly of your arrival. And a world of oppressed souls wants you to shine your light on them,"

"No, I don't see oppressed souls, Tonrarr… I see an army." stated Hawkman as he looks upon the people that came.

For it wasn't just the Lionmane tribe here, but creatures that look like lizard men. And using the word tribe would be an understatement. This is a sizable force that can storm Nth City and have a good fight to hurt the Manhawks and their Queen Shrike. A way for Hawkman to rescue Kendra, and maybe help the people of Hawkworld.

-Gotham City-

Deep underneath Gotham City in the winding tunnels that go one forever. In a room with a single light shinning down. A man walks into the light wearing a fine three piece suit while wearing a white owl mask.

"What of the body?" asked the man wearing an owl mask

"It's going good," says another person who is a doctor that they too are wearing a white owl mask, "Mother took great care of this body, even if it is several years old,"

"Mother knows how to preserve a body. Mother wants this Talon to face against the one who killed him."

The arm shoots out, grab hold of the doctor by the throat, "Where is he!? WHERE IS NARUTO UZUMAKI!" in a fit of rage kills the the doctor. But before this man could kill the other man several people quickly appear holding him down. Each of the people holding the man down are wearing owl masks.

"Don't worry, Talon, you'll get your revenge by killing Naruto Uzumaki. Mother made it so."
