Author's note: I know this is a short chapter but I just wanted to have a short introduction chapter to my fanfic. As some of you may know this is a sort of crossover of Life Is Strange and The Crow. I hope you enjoy and I hope you look forward to more and longer chapters. :)

Chapter I: Pain

People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so horrible happens that an incredible sadness is carried with it and the soul cannot rest. Then sometimes, sometimes the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right.

18 year old Rachel Amber and her younger brother Michael had gone missing a few months back. Most of the people in town had believed that the siblings had left Arcadia Bay behind after the tragic accident that led to the deaths of both of their parents, but Rachel's friend Chloe didn't believe that. She knew that her friend wouldn't have left without her at the least without saying goodbye… 6 months later the siblings were found…

The line of police tape stretched down the beach sand as a crowd of people began to hover over the tape trying to get a glimpse of what was happening.

"We've got 2 bodies." One of the policemen examining the scene said into his walkie."One male and one female. The male seems to have been shot multiple times and the female…" he paused as he looked down at the body. It was obvious that whoever had done this didn't kill her as quickly.

"Roger that." The voice responded over the radio "We're sending the ambulance right away."

Just then 2 young girls still in their teens made their way past the policeman in charge of keeping the crowd at bay and ran towards the 2 bodies one of the girls had short blue dyed hair while the other had the same length in hair but natural light brown. "Girls, you have to stay behind the yellow tape." The policeman stopped them from getting any closer. As the policeman nudged them back towards the tape the girl with the blue haired caught a glimpse of the dead bodies and couldn't help but break down.

"Oh my god!" She shouted as she dropped down to the floor

"Chloe, what's wrong?" The brown haired girl asked deeply concerned

"Th-that's Rachel… and Michael…." She said trying her best to hold back tears but to no avail. She began to cry out now unable to move from the sheer shock "oh my god, Max. It's them!"

Max knelt down beside her weeping friend and held her tight "I'm so sorry, Chloe. I'm so sorry."

As the rain began to fall the officer ordered for the two bodies of the young teens to be removed from the site and to the coroner's for an official death ruling. Days go by and the funeral for the siblings is held and they are put to rest side by side with each other.

2 Months later, December 22….

Snow had begun to fall on Arcadia Bay; the once leafless trees were now covered in the December snow. Most of the students of Blackwell Academy had gone home for the winter break but Max, with the permission of her parents, had decided to stay in her hometown rather than go back to Seattle with her parents. Max with the help of her friend Chloe who she had not seen much of since the funeral moved in her suitcases that would carry her over until she returned to school.

"Alright, Max! I'm so happy you decided to stay with us!" Chloe said as she moved her dirty clothes from the floor to make room for max's suitcases

"Of course, Chloe. There's nowhere else I'd rather be for Christmas than with my best friend." She replied with a smile. Max unpacked her 2 suitcases and neatly folded her clothes and placed them in a drawer that Chloe had emptied for her. Max couldn't help but notice the small shrine that Chloe had setup in remembrance of the 2 friends she had lost. She walked over to the makeshift shrine and picked up the photo that was placed in the centre. The picture was of Chloe, Rachel, and Michael at a local concert venue. Max couldn't help but chuckle as she noticed how drunk and or high Chloe and Rachel clearly were and Michael looking as if he didn't belong there.

"He was never one for concerts." Chloe started with a small smile "But he always tagged along."

"They were really special to you weren't they."

Chloe nodded in response "After my dad died and you left for Seattle I found myself alone." Chloe grabbed the photo from Max and sat on her bed "That was until these 2 came into my life. They showed me that I wasn't alone… they were my guardian angels."

Max didn't know what to say, she knew that her leaving to Seattle without saying so much as a goodbye to her childhood best friend was the reason she felt alone. She took a seat next to her best friend and brought her in for a hug "I am so sorry, Chloe. Just from the way you talk about them I know they were great people. And I truly wish that I had gotten to know them and gotten to thank them for being such good friends to you when I was being a bad one."

"Y'know…" Chloe started as she wiped away the tears that had begun to form "I never really believed in heaven or anything like that, but I can't help but feel that that is exactly where they are looking down on me. Still having my back." Max nodded in agreement as she too wiped the tears that she had. "C'mon Max. Let's start your winter break right."

"Ordering more pizzas than the both of us can eat and watching cheesy 70's sci-fi movies?"

"Is there any other way?"

The Arcadia Bay cemetery laid silent as the snow began to cover the flower filled graves of those who passed. The flowers that were just placed recently on the grave of Michael Amber quaked as the coffin buried beneath it began to open the casket. The pronounced dead Michael pushed and pushed the 6 feet of dirt that laid upon his coffin until it all crumbled over. He opened the coffin fully and crawled his way out of the now empty grave. Michael gasped for air and trembled at the sudden coldness he was feeling. He laid on the snow covered ground until he was able to catch his breath and sat up, not fully understanding what had happened. He looked at the grave that he just crawled out of and noticed that the tombstone was marked for him. "What the hell is happening?" He thought to himself. Dread filled his body as he looked to the tombstone next to his and saw that the name on the grave was that of his older sister. Just then like a freight train his memories from that night came rushing back. Micahel and his older sister had walked into their home being robbed, but before the 2 could turn away one of the robbers had grabbed the both of them and dragged them into the house. From there Michael's memory was hazy, but what he remembered vividly was the pain he felt from when was stabbed and shot. Michael felt where he was wounded but found no type of scarring or any trace that he was ever injured. Just then the cawing of a crow that had perched itself on top of his sister's tombstone brought him back to the present. The crow kept cawing to Michael and he understood. He was resurrected to right the wrong that had happened to him and his sister, but he wasn't looking for justice against his murderers, he was looking for vengeance. Michael made his way out of the graveyard as the crow perched itself onto Michael's shoulder.

"I'm not going to kill them…" Michael thought to himself "No. They died that night, the moment they touched Rachel. They just don't know it yet."
