Sup guys and gals. Not much of an Author's note here except for a question to the fans. What do you think of the OCs? I know they haven't had a huge role so far, but I want serious feedback on whether you (the fans) would like to see them later on. Also, just like to point out, as I'm writing this I'm also watching Star Wars Episode 4, and 'The Force' instrumental played and I thought it was worth pointing out cause it's so great.
Ezra was silent. Patient. He was waiting for an attack.
"Well, it's such a nice surprise to see you again." The Inquisitor said, pulling out his own lightsaber.
"Trooper, set blaster to kill." The Inquisitor ordered the other trooper, who was Jax.
Jax looked at Ezra, then quickly aimed his weapon at The Inquisitor.
He then realized the trooper was part of the rebellion as well. The Inquisitor rolled his eyes, "Unbelievable." He ignited one of his red blades then struck at Jax, who then dodged it, causing him to strike the door.
The Inquisitor tried to swing at him again, but was met with a blue blade. Ezra's lightsaber stopped The Inquisitor's forcefully. Jax took a couple of shots at The Inquisitor, which were blocked after he had disengaged with Ezra's blade.
"Watch out." Hera yelled, as Ezra looked to his right to see Mara rushing him.
Just as she jumped up to try and strike down on him, she was pushed in to the cell's wall.
Ahsoka had used the force to send her back flying. She then used the force to get her lightsaber's from The Inquisitor's belt. She looked to Sabine, "Use this to get that door open."
Ahsoka handed her the smaller of her two lightsabers. Ahsoka looked back at Mara, and charged her as she ignited her own green lightsaber.
Sabine ignited the saber. It let off the yellow gleam of the blade.
"Better be careful with that thing." Zeb said, cautiously walking towards her.
"Yea, and we shouldn't get in there way. Wait for them to move away from the door before you try to get it open." Hera told her.
Ahsoka had locked with Mara's purpled lightsaber.
Ezra had gone on the defensive, using the wall as an advantage. He bounced off one while deflecting the red blade at the same time.
He then jumped at The Inquisitor, locking their blades once again.
Sabine took her chance. She rushed the door and began cutting it open. Everyone else just stood back, not knowing what to do in the chaos. Mara noticed this and quickly tried to rid herself of Ahsoka's blade. Mara tried to force her back, then used the force to end her back across the room.
Ezra was no match for The Inquisitor. They were in totally different classes. The Inquisitor was dumbfounded. 'How?' he thought. His face said it all.
Sabine continued to cut the door, until she noticed someone coming towards her.
She disengaged the blade from the door just in time to stop Mara's purple blade from killing her.
Mara struck again, each time Sabine barely blocking it.
Ezra saw Sabine fighting Mara, with Ahsoka still getting back to her feet. He started to aggressively swing and stab at The Inquisitor, until he used the opening to kick him in the gut. This gave him a couple seconds.
Sabine and Mara locked blades.
"You think you can actually keep up with me?" Mara asked rhetorically.
"I wouldn't get too cocky." Sabine said back.
Mara disconnected her blade from Sabine's and swung so violently that it cause Sabine to lose grip on the hilt.
She watched the hilt role and stared back up at Mara, who was ready to swing. Sabine instinctively closed her eyes and braced for the lightsaber. Instead of her feeling the burning pain of a saber, she heard a clash of one against the other.
She opened her eyes to see a blue blade near her face, holding off the Mara's purple. She looked to her right to see Ezra reaching across her body to stop the blade. She was frozen for a moment. Before she quickly moved back out of the way.
Ezra continued his saber battle with Mara before The Inquisitor gained back his composure.
Sabine quickly looked for Ahsoka's yellow lightsaber. To her surprise, Zeb had already ran over to pick it up and started opening what remained of the door.
Hera followed him, and so did Daxson and the other soldiers.
Jax was behind them, making sure nether Mira and The Inquisitor attacked them again.
"Come on! It's almost finished." Zeb growled to himself.
"Come on Zeb…Hurry up…" Hera said with a bit of worry.
The plate that had been cut open fell to the ground. Jax then made his way to the front of the group, "Alright there is a cell control room down this hallway. Let me lead the push. If we do survive that, then we can take any weapon's we find and make our way back to the hanger." he told them.
At this point Ahsoka had returned to the fight. She and Ezra exchanged between Mara and The Inquisitor during the skirmish. Ezra noticed in a split second that Jax and the others were getting ready to push out. In one second of freedom they had, Ezra spoke to Ahsoka, "Go with them. I'll hold them off and meet you back at the hanger." He then blocked another blade coming his way.
Ahsoka didn't hesitate to argue with him. They didn't have time. She bolted for the door, and Ezra got between the door and his opponents, making sure they didn't pursue them.
Ahsoka called to Jax, "Wait for me. Let me go first. I can give you more cover."
"Shouldn't you help Ezra?" Sabine asked cautiously.
They looked back to see Ezra, not just holding off, but overpowering the two of them.
"I take that back." Sabine commented.
"Agreed, let's go." Ahsoka said, ready to walk out the door. Just before she jumped out, she felt someone grab her shoulder. She turned around to see Zeb holding her other lightsaber.
"Thought ya' might need this." He grinned.
She took it, and gave a welcome smile back, "Alight, stay right behind me."
Ahsoka, followed by Jax lead the group down the hallway towards the control room.
"What are y.." The officer was cut off by the blaster bolt that had just burned through his skin.
Ahsoka jumped across the room, striking the other two remaining Stormtroopers in the room.
"Here." Jax said opening a small room full of Imperial weapons.
They each grabbed a blaster of sorts.
"How are we gonna get to the Hanger? We'll get killed before we make it halfway." One of ther soldier's commeneted.
They looked around to each other, before Jax had a bright idea. He quickly paced over to the control panel. He put himself on a com that relayed to the whole ship.
"All available personnel, report to the barracks immediately! I repeat, this is not a drill. Report to the barracks immediately!" He said over the comms.
"Alright by the time we get down to the hanger we should be pretty clear."
Everyone just gave him an approving look, before they tried to cram into the elevator. The ride down was silent and awkward. No one said anything.
The door opened, and they were ready to shoot. To their surprise no one was there.
"Follow me." Jax whispered to them.
He started remembering his way back to the ship. They had encountered no one since he sent out the fake alert.
"Wow, nice plan." Hera said to Jax.
"I actually am a bit surprised myself." He said back.
"We aren't there yet." Ahsoka says sneaking up to the door leading to the hanger.
They examined the hanger. Only a few troopers filled the large room.
"Alright, we are gonna rush to the ship. Hera, get that ramp down as quick as you can. Everyone else, cover her."
Everyone gave a nod of confirmation. Ahsoka ignited her lightsabers. They ran out, and a few of the Stormtroopers fell from their blaster shots. Hera bolted to the ship. She tried as quickly as possible to override the lock that the imperials had put in place.
"How's it coming?" Sabine asked Hera.
"Just a few more seconds."
Ahsoka stood in front of all of them, blocking all the lasers she could. At this point, their own squad outnumbered all of troopers in the hanger.
"Got it!" Hera yelled.
"Alright I'll cover you. Get inside!" Ahsoka told them.
Hera was first in. She immediately ran to the controls. She quickly fired up the ship.
The crew was all inside the ship, or on the ramp covering Ahsoka.
"Where's the kid? We don't have all day!" Zeb said firing back at the remaining Stormtroopers.
"We aren't leaving him." Sabine said shooting a few of her own shots back at the Stormtroopers.
Ahsoka backed up into the ship, trying to avoid the shots. She tried to raise Ezra on her comms, "Ezra!" He didn't answer.
"Ezra can you hear me? Respond! We are about to take off."
Nothing.
"Damn." Zeb said after Ahsoka's failed attempt.
Sabine started making her way down the ramp, ready to find him. As she did this, another hanger door burst open. Through the door, The Inquisitor flew through the air to the other side of the hanger.
Backing up from the destroyed door, Mara was struggling to fend off Ezra's attacks.
"Speak of the devil." Jax said, responding to Ezra's entrance.
Ezra kept abusing Mara's defense. The sound of the sabers clashing. The blue and purple blades connecting every second, until she finally broke. He finally landed a blow on her upper thigh. She screamed in pain. She fell to the ground, holding her wound. She tried another useless swing at him, which was met with another slash of light upon her skin. She continued her pain filled grunts as she curled up as she tried to comfort her new wounds on her thigh and forearm.
Ezra held the lightsaber point to her throat. He raised, as if he was about to end it for her.
'The end'. She thought as she c;osed her eyes for a split second.
Nothing came. She peaked her eyes, and all she saw him was his saber back at his side. He looked at her, then kicked her lightsaber out of her hand.
Sabine, Zeb, Ahsoka, and the rest of the group looked on in surprise.
Mara looked back up at him, "Don't pity me." She said in anger, and confusion.
"It's not pity. It's the Jedi way."
"What are you talking about?" She asked in anger.
"A jedi must not kill an unarmed enemy." He said, looking to her saber which he had removed from her hands.
He gave her a small smile. Then, he walked back towards the ship and got on board. He looked upon his friends and examined their faces. Hera lifted the ship, and the ramp slowly closed. He looked back, and saw The Inquisitor finally back up, limping.
Ezra made sure he stared at him. Made sure he knew. Made sure that The Inquisitor wouldn't soon forget this day.
The ramp closed, and Ezra still remained aimed at the closed ramp. He took a deep breath in, and turned around slowly.
He was met by Zeb's. Zeb had already ran up and put an arm around Ezra and started ruffling up his hair.
"We missed you kid." He grumbled.
"Yea, I can tell." He said back smiling, "I missed you too."
Sabine walked up to him, and he took his eyes from Zeb to her.
"Well, you kept your promise." She said.
"Oh, and what was that?" He asked, playfully.
"That you'd come back." She said as she put her arms around his neck, and placed her lips and his.
He returned the kiss. As they broke apart she embraced him in a hug. He did the same. She buried her head into the safety of his chest.
"I'll leave you two. Talk to you later Ezra." Ahsoka said.
Zeb patted Ezra on the shoulder as he walked off to find the rest of the group.
Ezra and Sabine continued their embrace, "I'm so sorry. I never should have left you guys."
She looked up at him, "This wasn't your fault."
"I should have been with you when all of you went on this mission." He looked away.
"No. No. Stop. You did what you had to do. Besides, you came back and…" She paused and placed her hand on his cheek, making him look back at her.
"And you saved us. You finished your training. You're a Jedi." She smiled.
He smiled back, "I love you. So much. I'll never…never let something like this happen to you again."
"I promise." He said after the silence.
What he said, made her feel something she hadn't felt in a long time. Security. Safety. The tone in his voice made her love him even more.
She embraced him again.
"I love you Ezra." She said.
Bam! How do you like THAT! Two chapter in two days. Not sure if I have done that ever!? Still, I loved writing this chapter. The reason I am pushing chapters out of the ass is because I'm really enjoying what I'm writing. Next chapter might not be as long, because it gonna be a very planned out chapter. It's uh…gonna gave some *cough* *cough* 'Adult themes' you could say. Some of you have been waiting for that scene for a while. Anyway, soon you will have it. Goodbye my friends, and don't forget, "May the force be with you!"
