Flash back, many years ago...
It was late at night as both Lily and Michael walked through an open field hand-in-hand about a mile or two away from the party that was being thrown for Michael before his leaving in a few days. "When do you leave Michael?" Lily finally asked breaking the strong silent tension between them still holding Michael's hand in a tight grip.
"In two days." Michael answered not really minding Lily' tight grip.
"Oh.." She responded quietly tightening her grip even more if possible.
They continued to walk in silence until the reached a hill with the moon shining brightly so they were able to see a picnic table under a single tree. The young couple went to the table before they sat down side by side. Neither of them didn't know what to say to one another knowing there wasn't any words to comfort each others pain they were feeling at the moment. "Michael, why did you join the army?" Lily asked finally breaking the silence between them.
"Because I want to protect everyone that I love and you too Lily." Michael answered without a second thought then pulled her closer to him into a genital embrace. "I don't want to lose anyone that I love and care deeply."
"But that's just the thing Michael," Lily started before turning her body around to face him then wrapped her arms around his neck baring her head in his chest. "What if you get injured or worse killed in action? What we will do then?"
"Lily Cage," Caboose cupped her head in his hands making her look up to make eye contact with him. "That would never happen, sure I'll get hurt every once and a while but I wont die so easily."
The young woman smiled at this a bit feeling her heart warm up. "Don't jinxes it." Lily said laughing a bit before she broke free from the embrace to get up and start to walking ahead then stop a few feet away. "Michael, you and I know that many things can happen in this cruel universe. Like me getting ill that took my papa's life or you going into war in a matter of days. All of this seems unfair to many people in the universe but there are reasons of course." She then got down on her knees to pick up a wild flower. Then she got back up before a small breeze went by the two couple, Lily continued speak at that moment. "But all I want you to know is that no matter how far apart we are, I will always love you forever no matter how far apart we are in this great galaxy." She then turned around to look at her lover smiling brightly. "So I'm going to make you a promise Michael; my promise to you is that I will wait for you until you come home. No matter what happens, I will wait for you."
When Michael heard Lily say this he couldn't help it and get up from the bench before he started to walk toward her. "Lily..." Michael whispered but was lost in the wind.
End of Flashback, present day...
It was the third time in a row that Caboose had talked or dreamed about his past about Lily. Stretching out his limbs to get rid of the numbness, Caboose looked around before he notice Donut sitting right in front of him reading a book. "What time is it?" Caboose asked while moving his arms around a bit.
Donut looked at the clock on the wall that seemed to be broken before looking back at Caboose shrugging a bit. "I have no freaking idea but it's been awhile since you fell asleep though." Donut explains him then marking the page in the book he was reading. "They said that we need to wait for someone name 479er come and give us a ride."
As if on cue, oh so said female pilot walked in the room making both soldiers look up at her. "So," 479er started while looking at both Sim troopers examining their appearance or some sort. "I'm going to take a wild guess that you two are the ones that I have to give a lift, right?"
"Yes ma'am." Donut and Caboose answered at once.
"Alright then, the bird is all warmed up so lets get going." 479er said before walking to the hangar bay then speaking up again. "Two rules that both you are to follow while on my bird, One: Don't leave any of your crap in the bird when you leave got that?"
Both men nodded yes in response.
"Okay rule two: Don't annoy the shit out of me or we might have a problem is that clear?"
"Yes ma'am." Both Donut and Caboose answered at once again while trying their best to not sound a bit concerned or scared.
"Well alright then, we're good." 479er said before she opened the door to the docking bay. "You two in." Both Caboose and Donut walked in the Pelican before taking a seat next to each other and strapping in. They watched as 479er walked to the cockpit and then turning on the radio to the com. tower near by them along with the engines. "This is 479er, we are whiles up and engines hot." 479er said through the radio then waiting for a response.
"Roger that 479er, you're all clear for take off." Someone said from the tower while some green lights appeared from the ground.
Without wasting a second, 479er (literally) put full gear and blasted off into the sky while in the back of the Pelican both Donut and Caboose grabbed onto their seats with dear life and giving little screams at that too. After minute past 479er slowed down the plane a bit by 5% but still going at a good speed before she grinned and looked back to where the two Sim. Troopers were at the moment. "You two alright back there?" 479er called out to Donut and Caboose still grinning underneath her helmet.
"Yes." Donut and Caboose said at once there voices shaking a bit while still holding to their seats in a almost deadly grip.
"Okay just making sure." 479er looked back at her screen next to her see the next location that they needed to go. "It's going to be an all nighter ride boys to where we're going so bare with me for that long."
Neither Caboose or Donut said a word to this only sighed while seeing no other topic for them to talk about to each at the moment either. After about ten minutes of silence had past Donut had fallen asleep from the lack of rest he got in Blood Gulch, how he was so freakin' hyper is a mystery that no one wanted to know at all. On the other hand, Caboose just sat there looking at the floor blankly with many questions running through his head like if something change while he was gone? Are the people he grow up still live there? Or if Lily was still alive for that matter? Caboose pushed that last thought to the side not wanting to believe it if it's true. Sleep soon started to take over again, thinking back even more Caboose realized that he had fallen asleep at least two times that same day for no reason or any other memory of ever falling asleep. Darkness took over the young blue soldier into a long sleep.
Somewhere else...
Back with the rest of the Red and Blue teams, no one among the group was able to figure out the riddle that Doc had told them so they just gave up thinking that Doc was just simply going to tell them. But guess what? Doc refused to give them the answer no matter what. "Come on Doc, we've been guessing the rules for the past three hours already so just tell us the answer." Tucker said in a annoyed voice.
Said medic looked at the group shaking his head. "No." Doc answered in a very simple tone of voice but also held the tone of boredom. "You guys gave up after fifth teen minutes because of none of you can figure out the answer."
"Yeah, 'cause none us of us can understand that fucking riddle of yours." Church said to the 'medic'.
"But it's not that hard to figure out."
"Yes it is." Grif and Tucker said at once before they looked at each other realizing that they been agreeing with one another for a while which was now freaking them out a bit.
"I got to give in Doc." Simmons said in a calm tone of voice. "This is something that none of us could figure out so all I can say for everyone here. We give up."
Doc looked down at the moving floor while mumbling about them being a 'Kill joy' then making a punting face of a five year old. Silence soon kicked in with the only sound the tanks wheels going through the dirt road and light breathing of all the teams breathing. "Okay." Tex finally said breaking the silence and stopping the tank/ Sheila then climbing out of the driver seat. "Lets call it a day, because I'm honestly tired of hell right now."
"Alright." All the male soldiers/ medic said at once before they jumped off of the tank then groaning.
Do to the the fact that they've been sitting for the past few hours their legs had went numb around that time, Tucker was the first one to fall to the floor since he had lost all feelings to his legs at that moment. Simmons fought to stay up but soon lost then falling against tiers with his back making a loud cracking sound and letting out a groan at that too. Grif didn't bother putting up a fight so he fall face first to the ground with a loud thud. Sarge just sat on the floor because well, actually, he was just so damn tired to put up a fight... shocking. Doc just cracked his legs before standing up straight in a very cheerful way... some how this does not surprise me. Church and Tex were OK because, well, they're freaking robots so they don't get freaking tired, sleep, eat, or anything that involves of being a human.
"Oh my god, I want to die." Tucker groan while rolling over onto his back. "I can't feel my legs."
"I can't feel anything." Grif said with his face in the dirt floor not really caring at all or was just too freaking lazy to move at all.
"You cock bites only been sitting down the whole fucking time." Tex said while crossing her arms underneath her chest. "How the hell are you idiots tired already?"
"Nah, they're just lazy asses." Simmons comment stretching out his legs a bit..
"Fuck you kiss ass." Grif mutter with his face still on the floor before rolling over onto his back. "So we're going to sleep out in the open? No taints or something that relates to camping of some weird shit?"
Doc went over to help Sarge up then looking at the orange Privet. "Grif, we don't have anything like that so we're sleeping outdoors for tonight." Doc told the orange private before grinning like a little kid in a candy store. "This could be the perfect time to tell ghost stories! Another way for us to bound, what do you say guys?"
"No." Both Red and Blue; except for Tex, said at once.
Something must have clicked inside Tex's head for a moment because she was smirking the next minute inside her helmet. "Come on guys, don't tell me all of you are scared of some ghost stories." Tex said in a mocking tone of voice. "I thought all of you were men."
Church stood up at this while dragging Tucker; who then groan at the slight pain his legs, up too looking at Tex. "We're not scared of some retired ghost story right Tucker?" Church asked the dark skin man.
"Dude I just want to sleep right now." Tucker responded wanting to go back on the floor.
Sarge quietly got up from the floor before turning to both Simmons and Grif who both then groan knowing what was coming next. "Simmons, Grif, get up and help me think of a terrifying ghost story that scare those dirty Blues." Sarge said to both men. (Author: Fucking damn it Sarge)
"Sarge, it's not a competition... is it?" Grif asked a bit confuse.
Only a few seconds past Doc's head before he responded. "If you guys want it to be." Doc told the small group of soldiers.
This little sentence must have clicked in the Sim troopers/ Freelancer's head because the next thing Doc knew it both Red and Blue teams went to the opposite of the tank/ Sheila muttering ideas for a good ghost story. Unsure what to do for a moment, Doc decide to look for some wood to start a fire and rocks to make a ring for the fire knowing for will that it was going to be a while for the group to think of a good horror story.
Three freaking hours later...
Yes it took both teams three fucking hours to think up a story in which confused Doc very much but chose to not question them. During that time Doc had managed to complete two task in the few hours he had, one getting a fire started but where he got the wood would always be a mystery. Two, he thought up his own ghost story to tell just to kill some time so Doc was good to go. "Alright, who wants to go first?" Tex asked while sitting on a log near legs cross.
"I would like to go first." Doc said surprising everyone in the small group but they all still stay silent to listen to the purple medics story. "This is a pretty old story so some of the details might be a bit off."
"Just get on with it." Church said annoyed with Doc's rambling.
Doc turned to look at Church before responding with a small grin. "Alright then but just to let you know I'm repeating every sentence I heard to be warn." Doc told them then looking at the fire before continuing adjusting his glasses too.
"January 21, 1922
I reached the farm just a few hours ago, and it is more than I could have possibly imagined. I knew as soon as I arrived that I had made the right choice. I was so uncertain about leaving the Thompson's home; I had been there for so long, but the allure of a better pay here at the Richards' Farmstead was too much to resist. The Richards have been very kind in our relations, and I expect that should continue which pleases me greatly. They've been very respectful and forthcoming with me about what I should expect working as a maid on their farm. That's not to say the Thompson family lacked any manner of generosity, but there were times where I often felt invisible. Mr. Richards and his wife treated me almost as if I were family the moment we met. "You're going to be living in our home and tending to our children," John Richards told me. Margery said, "It's only right we treat you as one of us." Though the pay increase is much appreciated, I must admit it was that sort of kinship Mr. and Mrs. Richards expressed that really brought me to their home."
A few minutes later...
Some how Doc had managed to scare the others a bit while still telling the ghost shorty. "The officer read the last sentence that had sent chills down his span." Doc said in an emotionless tone of voice. before tilting his head to the side slightly looking up at the group. "This is want the last sentence said and in quote, 'And A word of a, Friend, don't go up into the attic. There's someone up there even I couldn't get to. Regards, T.F.'." Doc lifted up his head properly to look at the Red and Blue teams before saying the last words. "The end." Needless to say, no one got any sleep that night.
Author: Finally! Done! (Slams head onto desk and starts sobbing)
Tex: What's wrong with her?
Church: She's like that because she took way too long to finish with this chapter.
Tucker: Eh, who can blame her.
Caboose: (Goes to author and leaves a plate of cookies and milk) She needs some food.
Doc: If you guys want to read the rest of the story there will be a link to it in the author's profile.
Grif: It was also pretty late when she finished this chapter so please forgive the mistakes she made too.
Simmons: Other than that, review if you want too... and no it wasn't Grif.
