MWAHAHA! Guess what, I'm postponing Part II of The Date! I'm so evil! I even stole Avatar: The Last Airbender from Nickelodeon! Oh, wait…no. No, I didn't.
Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki, Zuko, and Toph were all in the training arena of the Fire Nation Palace, sparring. Well, not really sparring. It was more like Aang fighting against all his friends.
Suki came at him first, with special non-lethal training fans.
Being the aggressive leader of the Kyoshi Warriors that she was, she charged Aang head-on. She drew her fans, ready to slash him with them.
Aang was ready for this, and, being the nimble, fleet-footed Airbender he was, he gracefully did a backflip over Suki and grabbed her fans right out of her hands on the way down.
Too easy, he thought.
Sokka was next. He and "Space Sword" (which Aang had recovered after scaling Wulong Forest to assess the damage from his battle with Ozai) leaped out in front of Aang.
Aang used his elbow to block the handle of Sokka's sword. Sokka swung again, only to have Aang duck away.
Aang, while crouched, blew a gust of air right at Sokka, sending the warrior flying ten feet and landing on his butt. He then used a water tentacle to pry the sword from Sokka's hand and tossed it aside.
Next, Zuko. Four fireballs were launched directly at Aang, who easily extinguished them with a light breath.
Aang then took advantage of the low gray clouds in the sky and sent a small waterfall cascading down on Zuko.
Though Zuko got a bit wet, he proceeded to shoot a string of flames at the Avatar.
Aang took control of the fire and sent it straight back at Zuko, twice as strong. Zuko was able to block it before he could get hurt, but he was knocked down and decided to admit defeat.
Toph suddenly bent a pillar of earth directly under Aang, shooting him twenty feet in the air (along with giving him some soreness in a certain area).
She smirked. Always hit 'em where it hurts.
In midair, Aang bent his knees and gently Akrbent himself to the ground, before quickly forming an earth room around Toph.
He began to make the walls and ceiling of the room close in on her.
She tried to counter his Earthbending, but he had grown stronger than her, and so her effort was in vain.
When the walls and ceiling reached within a four inches of crushing her, she sighed. "All right, Twinkletoes, I give up!" she shouted.
Aang immediately destroyed the earth room.
A crash of thunder sounded, and with it came a downpour. Katara used it, along with the nearby stream, to her advantage as she was the last to battle Aang.
She sent ice shards raining down on him, which he easily shattered.
She then lashed a water whip at him. But he took control of it and sent it back at her, hitting her in the leg so as not to seriously hurt her.
She took an octopus stance and lashed tentacles at him, but he jumped over and ducked under them.
Except for one.
Katara whipped a tentacle especially hard, and Aang had a late reaction. So as he attempted to slide under it, the tentacle smashed into his right arm.
"Agh!" he cried out in pain, not getting up.
"Aang! Oh, my gosh!" Katara cried, running up to him. "Aang, what happened? Where does it hurt?"
"My arm," he moaned painfully. "I can't…agh!…move it."
"Oh, Aang, I'm so sorry!" she apologized. "This is all my fault."
"It's okay, Katara," he said, wincing. "You…unh!…didn't mean it."
Team Avatar came running to Aang's aid. "What happened?" Sokka asked.
"Aang's arm, it might be broken," Katara replied. "And it's all my—"
"No…it isn't," Aang insisted.
Zuko frowned. "Well, we'd better get him back to the Palace. My doctors are some of the best in the world."
By nightfall, Aang's arm had been declared broken by Zuko's most reliable doctor, and it was put in a cast.
After dinner, Aang had decided to go to bed early, as he had obviously had a less-than-great day.
Soon after he had lain down, he heard a knock on his door.
"Aang? It's me." Katara.
"The door's unlocked," Aang said.
Katara opened the door and walked into Aang's room. "How are you feeling?" she asked, closing the door behind her.. She sat on the end of his bed.
"Sore," he replied. "But it'll get better." He smiled faintly.
"Aang, I'm so sorry…" she said sadly. "I never meant to hurt you."
"Katara, it's really okay," he told her, using his uninjured arm to prop himself up. "It isn't your fault. I'm not invincible."
She sighed. "I know. But I feel terrible…"
"Don't," he said. "I still love you."
"I love you, too. But—"
"But nothing." He leaned over and tentatively kissed her cheek. "You worry too much."
"I can't help it," she replied. "I just couldn't imagine what I'd do if something awful happened to you because of me."
"You don't have to," he said. "I'm may hurt sometimes. I'm going to cry sometimes. But…it's never, ever your fault."
She smiled, and then she yawned.
"Yeah, I'm tired, too," he said. "Care to stay the night?"
She smirked. "Okay, but no funny business, Mr. Avatar."
He laughed. "After what Toph did to me, I don't think funny business is even an option."
"A-Aang!" she sputtered.
"S-sorry," he said, blushing in embarrassment. He grinned sheepishly.
"Oh, what am I going to do with you?" she asked playfully, kissing his forehead.
"Um…not break my other arm?" he suggested.
"Don't push it."
