Ho, ho ho! I hope you all are having a very Merry Kataang Christmas! Here is the finale! (Don't even ask.)
The last fifteen minutes were a blur to Aang. After he and Katara found the mistletoe patch, things began to get hazy for the poor Airbender. All he really remembered was, one minute he was penguin sledding, and the next he was kissing Katara very heatedly. Not that he could complain or anything…
Dazed, Aang climbed haphazardly onto Appa's head. "Wow…" he murmured.
Katara followed suit and sat next to him. "You okay, sweetie?" she asked, giggling. She kissed him on the cheek.
He swallowed hard, blushing a little. "Y-yeah. That was, um…something. Appa, yip-yip!"
"Well, I'm glad you liked it," she said, hugging him lovingly. "Merry Christmas."
Aang smiled and pulled her closer. "You know, I'm not done yet."
"Not done?" Katara asked. "With what?"
"I still have another surprise for you," he said.
"Oh, Aang, you spoil me," she replied, laughing lightly.
"Nothing could ever spoil you, Katara," he said earnestly. "You're too perfect."
She giggled again. "Thanks."
"Sorry…that was kind of cheesy," Aang said, grinning sheepishly.
"No, I thought it was really sweet," Katara told him, rubbing his back affectionately. "So, where might we be going for this surprise?"
He thought for a moment. "Nowhere in particular," he said. "In fact, I think we're here."
Katara looked down. "Um…we're over open water."
"Yes, we are. Because the only thing I want you to focus on right now, is me." Aang reached into his pocket.
Katara gasped in delight. It was a beautiful cerulean bracelet. The front of its gem had a Water Tribe insignia and an Air Nomad insignia mixed together.
The back of the gem had an engraving on it: Merry Christmas, Katara. Love, Aang.
"Oh, Aang, it's beautiful!" Katara said in amazement. "Did you make this?"
Aang nodded. "Yeah. I wanted to give you something special…a bracelet seemed like the best choice. I carved it from aquamarine, and the engraving is a mix of silver and gold. Because you deserve only the best. Merry Christmas, Katara."
"I love it, Aang, thank you so much." She put the bracelet on her left hand. "I'll wear it forever." She then cupped his face in her hands and pressed her forehead to his.
"I love you," Aang said simply.
"I love you, too," Katara replied , meeting his lips for the umpteenth time that day.
The sun began to set, signaling the end of Christmas Day. And both Aang and Katara decided that this Christmas was the best one ever.
It was so great that not even Sokka's oogies could ruin it. Well…almost.
