Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't been around all that much. At least I'm still updating every once in a while, it's not like I've been taking unexpected hiatuses that last for months on end, right? Sigh…I'll try to be a little more consistent with updates—it should be easier since school is out and everything. Anyway…I do not own ATLA. Now let's roll!
It was just another one of those days. Aang couldn't focus on his Firebending practice for the life of him. He tried with all his might to concentrate, but between the scorching Fire Nation heat, the exhaustion from the day's activities, and Katara standing by watching him, wearing so little, it was impossible.
After a while, he groaned and gave up. He trudged over to Katara with a sigh, a smile, and a shake of his head.
"Is something wrong, Aang?" Katara asked, brushing her arm against his.
Aang wiped his sweaty forehead with his other arm. "No, no, I'm just…a little distracted, is all."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what's going on in that head of yours?" She pulled at the side of her indigo shirt, which was translucent. As for her skirt, well…it wasn't exactly the longest thing in the world. Thank goodness for Aang she had a little common sense—under her thin shirt she had at least made sure to put on a—
Oh, Spirits. Aang's hormonal thirteen-year-old mind was going way too far for his comfort. Was she trying to make him all…gooey? As innocent as he usually was, sometimes he just couldn't help but think…
"Um, Aang?" Katara giggled. She played with the neck of her shirt.
Oh, heavens, why?!
Oops. Was he staring? "S-sorry," he stammered. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and blushed. "I-I just…you—" He couldn't believe himself. She was turning him into a puddle of mush and there was nothing he could do about it!
She smirked. "What's the matter, Aang?" she teased, using her best "cutesy" voice. "Is there something you need?"
"Uhh…" He was sweating profusely now. "I-I—" What was happening to him?! Why couldn't he formulate complete sentences anymore? Why did he all of a sudden feel so much warmer? "K-Katara…?"
He really is so cute, Katara thought, her heart swelling at her boyfriend's innocent self-restraint. What did I ever do to deserve the sweetest boy on the planet? She decided to torture him a little bit more. "Aang, are you okay? You seem a little…flustered." She cupped his cheeks and smirked when she felt the heat emanating from them.
Aang gulped. "What are you—?"
She cut him off with a forceful kiss on his lips. He froze, unable to register what was happening. That is, until he felt something gently trace his lips. He froze. She had never done that before!
He pulled away, confused. "Wh-what was that?" he asked innocently. He seemed a little…scared.
Katara was surprised. "Um…I-I guess I was going a little too fast. I'm—" He interrupted her.
"No, no. Don't be sorry," Aang said. "It's my fault—I've been moving too slowly for you. I'm just…afraid I'll mess everything up if I go too fast. I enjoy what we but, and…i-if you want more, I'll try my best." His voice was sincere, and he suddenly seemed so much older than he really was. (Well, not really, but you know what I mean.)
She smirked. "Aang, you make it sound like I was going to—"
His face burned deeper. "What? No, no! I mean…not yet, anyway. I—" Poor Aang was red as a Fire Nation flag and very flustered.
"I know, I know." Katara put a hand on his shoulder good-naturedly. "I was just kidding. But…do you…do you want to go a little faster? I don't want to push you into something that makes you feel uncomfortable."
"I will if you will," he said earnestly, a small smile gracing his lips. "I…I love you."
She smiled back before resuming their kiss. "I know."
