[Darkmount, NV]
Kup pulled himself into an alcove as a small patrol of Vehicons walked past, only waiting until the right moment for them to pass. There were still a few handfuls that weren't distracted by his girl, but it seemed that the inside team was doing well so far since no alarms had been sounded. He had counted the clicks in his radio and knew that there was still one device that had yet to be placed. The first Wrecker slipped into a room and hid behind the equipment that surrounded the wall to finish listening to his girl as she rattled Megatron further. He knew that she normally didn't chatter this much unless there were other reasons for it, usually she was either excited or nervous about something. She knew the threat that Megatron was and that if she continued to push is buttons like she was that he was going to go for blood and soon.
Settling where he could see the monitor that the Vehicons were watching the show outside and prepared for a fight as soon as he saw Megatron give the signal for the troops outside with him to capture his girl and prepared himself for a fight. She had not yet set the devices off and he was ordered to do so if she failed. Again he watched as she verbally slapped Megatron about, almost outright calling him a chicken for not fighting her himself. Tricky move on her part, especially with the damage she still had. Things still weren't ready for her to act yet, the inside team needing a bit more time for the one last device to be placed. As soon as the concern crossed his processor he watched as Elita once again halted Megatron in his place as she began to skim through her vast collection of music in search of the right song for her 'epic boss battle' as she called it. The slightly irritated look that passed over the Decepticon leader's facial structure made Kup want to laugh, but the old Wrecker managed to keep it to himself as he shifted his detonator around in his mouth. She might still buy them the last few moments that whomever needed it on his team to get their skidplates in gear and get that last device planted.
[Outside]
"No, too slow. Not that one either. Nope, love song. Nope. Nope. Nope," Elita gave a slightly pained smile at her foe as his irritation grew with each song she began to play and then decided against for one reason or another. She had managed to walk closer to the tower as she did, pacing around a bit to make it look as if she was just trying to think of which song would fit with the situation. Eventually she sighed as she leaned against the tower, placing her hand on the wall as she still shifted through the music with a sigh, as if the whole ordeal was irritating her as well. Carefully she began to access the systems inside from the contact she had made to the structure and let her systems give her an update on the multiple multi-viral devices that had been placed. If by chance the only one missing was in the tower itself then she could go a head and set the rest of them off. If if it was the one for the Damoclies unit then she would just have to wing it.
The system information feed told her that the worm program that she had set to go off first as soon as the devices were plugged in was already running through the whole tower and yet undiscovered. Good, good. Soundwave finding it working itself through the system was a huge concern for the success of the mission. So far it was mimicking the background information that the systems fed to one another and gave her access to both it and the ship's systems that were now infected. As soon as the trigger song played the other viruses would begin their work.
When she saw Megatron's frustration grow past the point that she was actually able to keep his attention for too much longer she simply shrugged. "Well, I guess I'll just play my workout playlist and go from there. But, how about we let your guys inside hear it, too?" The loud, up beat tempo of the song sounded as she began to stalk forward, but the Vehicons inside and out began look around as the song played around them.
"Ooo, Slash Monkey. Nice choice," Wheeljack complemented as he settled a bit to watch the upcoming fight. He noted that the serious, focused Elita had returned as she and Megatron began to circle around one another, neither activating a weapon yet. Looking toward the closest Vehicon near him, the Wrecker smirked a bit, "Truth be told, I have no problems following her orders. She definitely keeps things interesting."
"Are you finally ready for your end, little one?" Megatron asked, the sneer marking his face showing her that he had her right where he wanted her. Or at least he would soon.
"I'm ready for my fight with you, yeeess," she replied, her double bladed weapon shifting out of her left hand. "One shall stand," she began, recalling what Optimus had shared with her about the phrase.
Megatron chuckled darkly as the phrase brought back his glory days in the Pits of Ka'on, his blade shifting out of his own hand. "And one shall fall."
[Inside Darkmount]
Soundwave naturally took note of the music as it began to play throughout the Spire and began to track down the source of the invasion. Somehow Elita had managed to access the internal communication relays from where she touched the outside. At least that was what his system scan of the tower and the ship showed. He had found that bit of information from her skittering through the system, but was having a difficult time shutting it down. Suspecting that it was a distraction from a more vital threat, he began to scan deeper into the systems. During his search he had found one area on the Nemesis that was not affected yet and sent the order necessary for the Vehicon drones to secure that location.
[On the Nemesis]
Smokescreen phased through the wall that separated the chamber that the Damoclies weapon was housed on the ship, quickly looked around and then sought shelter behind some of the support pillars to the massive chamber. The weapon was rooted to the chamber's ceiling, quietly resting as it awaited its next use from Megatron.
"Elita's right about one thing," Smokescreen muttered to himself as he took in the massive blade like design, "You are too dangerous to keep around." Looking around for the access point to the weapon so that he could plant the last device. He knew he was the last one to finished, he just had to hurry up before she activated the silly things and manage to infect him with it.
Spotting what he needed, the Elite Guardsman activated the phase shifter and quickly made his way to the CPU for the weapon itself and found the data plug point he needed. As soon as he completed his task he tapped his transmitter twice as loud, fast paced music began to fill the room. Shortly after a three tap reply, he high tailed it off the platform and rushed towards the nearest wall. It was the nearby doors opening that made him skid to a halt. His shoulders sank as the Vehicons rushed into the room, their weapons all locking into place and targeting him.
"Scrap."
[Outside]
All pretense of Elita's injuries virtually disappeared as she rushed in, using her smaller size to her advantage. She was quicker due to the lack of mass she carried. She practically zipped around Megatron by utilizing her wheels on her ankles, spinning and juking to avoid his blade when she could and managing to hold her own when his strikes did connect with her own blades. The pair threw punches and kicks at one another, but despite her best effort she did not have Optimus Prime's mass to keep the strikes from making her lose ground. Nor was she able to push Megatron back with her own blows. But she watched and observed how he moved, despite her dancing to the music she played. When he fired his energy weapon Megatron had to retract his bladed one, as if the two could not function at the same time. Despite this apparent flaw, Megatron was quick with the transitions between the two, flawless even, but she could still utilize that knowledge if she played her moves right.
Megatron uppercut Elita as she rolled close enough, the blow connecting to her midsection and sent her flying up into the air with it. The Autobot femme gave a cry of pain, her optics closing tightly from it as she flew up, back, and landed a good distance away. Her cry of pain as she hit the rocky ground had been overshadowed by the squealing sound of her body sliding across it. Knowing it she couldn't afford to waste any time, Elita struggled to get to her feet as Megatron shot closer. With a surge of energy, she grabbed a hold of his fist as she moved to the side, turned and used his momentum to throw him over her shoulder and send him flying. He rolled with her throw, ending up on a foot, knee, and hand as he stopped, and aimed his gun right at her. Elita's right hand shifted to her own gun and she managed to fire off enough shots that struck his own, deflecting them around.
She heard the clicks over her radio, the signal that all the devices were in place. Now Elita just had to get back to the spire, access the system and activate the next phase. Unfortunately Megatron wasn't cooperating with her on that endeavor. He had ended up sending her the opposite direction she needed, and moved her further with each blow he delivered. A direct kick to her torso sent her back a few dozen feet, making her roll wildly before she stopped. Her already damaged systems couldn't take much more of this punishment, but she still had to fight.
Megatron only paused to look back at his own troops as they began their attack on Wheeljack as both the tyrant and his second-in-command received word from Soundwave inside that Autobots had been detected and that the internal units were in the process of taking out the multiple units that had managed to infiltrate the Spire and ship.
"Apparently you don't give yourself enough credit, or at least your companions, if they've willingly followed you into your little scheme like they have."
With a groan she managed to at least get to her hands and knees and transform her bladed weapons back into activation as she looked up at the tyrant standing over her. "Like I said, Optimus put me in charge."
She lunged at him, but Megatron simply twisted his own blade between her own and, with enough force, snapped one of her blades off. It threw her arm to the side, jerking the already damaged wiring and connectors further as she twisted to the ground from the blow. Elita quickly pulled her sniper rifle into action, only for Megatron to grab a hold of the barrel of her gun and hoist her up into the air with little to no effort on his part. With her bladed weapon returned to her left hand, she reached for the remote ground bridge control unit only for him to snatch that away from her. He looked at it for a moment before turning a dark, gleeful smile her way as he crushed the unit in his hand, letting the pieces fall to the ground around her blade.
"You were hardly worth the effort, human," the Decepticon gloated as he held Elita up and close so that he could look her in the optics. Despite the situation she was now in he found no fear looking back at him, only the firm determination that he usually saw in Optimus' optics when the Autobot leader was alive. "You have a fighting spirit. I will enjoy breaking it."
"You want to know something, Meggsie?" she asked him calmly, only a hint of the pain she was truly in seeping into her voice. "Out of all the issues I've had with you, only one really tops them all."
"Oh?" he asked with a dark joy, "And, what might that be?"
Tilting her head down to make her angry look more vicious, she leaned closer to his face. "You put my kids in danger," she told him, right before she punched her glowing fist into the Decepticon emblem and grabbed a hold of the Dark Energon crystal. Since she now had direct access to all of his systems, Elita activated his communication link and gave the order to the system. "Fall, Goliath, fall."
[Author's Note:]
I don't own the show. Thanks for reading.
"Fall, Goliath, Fall" is a Project 86 song and it will be utilized in the next chapter.
