A/N: What's this? I stopped working on Zero Mission and made a chapter for this story? Amazing. I'll try to get more chapters out for this, but my main focus is going to be on my Zero Mission series right now because I know exactly what I want to do with it and there is almost no thinking involved like there is with these stories.

"I take it you all know why you are here today." Commander Erwin said to Eren and his friends. "You are here because the Scout Regiment deems you worthy of wearing our crest, the wings of freedom. You have all demonstrated your abilities to survive outside the safety of these walls. While some of your experiences may have left their mark, you all have what it takes."

Everyone remained silent, they didn't want to remember the horrors they had seen in their time outside the wall.

"Eren Yeager, rise." The commander said.

Eren stood from his seat and looked right at the commander.

"The Scout Regiment has forgiven your past transgressions, your ability outweighs your mistakes. I am assigning you as the leader of a special task force composed of everyone seated at this table." The commander said.

Eren looked on in surprise.

"But sir I-"

"The judgement is final, I wish to see you when you have settled into your new home." Commander Erwin said as he left the room.

Eren fell back into his chair, he never thought he would be given the responsibility of people's lives again.

Everyone looked at Eren, his face was looking pale.

"Hey man are you gonna be ok?" Connie said as he got up and walked over to Eren.

Mikasa just looked at Eren from across the table, she wanted to be near him but knew he needed his space.

Eren has lost his entire squad while he was with the Garrison, all he could think about was losing his new team, his friends.

Sasha, Christa and Reiner had left the room and headed towards their new barracks. Jean had also left, but stood just outside the door waiting on Connie.

"Take your time, we'll see you in the barracks." Connie said as he patted Eren on the shoulder and left.

Mikasa still just sat across from Eren as he stared at the table with a cold, dead look.

"The last thing I need is another massacre of people I care about." He said breaking the silence.

Mikasa opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Eren looked up and she closed her mouth, he still had the cold, dead look in his eyes.

"I don't want this responsibility again, what would happen if Connie or Reiner were to be injured? What would happen if Sasha or Christa were killed? What if… what if I lose you?" Eren said.

"Nothing like that is going to happen, no one is going to die." Mikasa finally said.

"I sure hope you're right." Eren said as he got up and headed for the door with Mikasa following shortly behind.

Everyone had settled into their new home at the Scout Regiment Barracks. It was small, but there was enough room for everyone to do what they needed.

"So what now?" Sasha asked.

"Well I guess we just wait and see what news Eren brings back when he's done meeting with the commander." Reiner said as he made sure his bed was made correctly.

"I have one thing to say before we start Eren." Commander Erwin said.

"What's that sir?" Eren said as he sat at the commander's desk.

"You should be dead, you should have been executed via firing squad and yet here you are." The commander said as he looked out his window.

Eren tensed up from hearing those words.

"I want a detailed report on just what happened outside the walls." Erwin said as he faced Eren.

"I… where do you want me to start sir?" Eren asked.

"From the very beginning." Erwin said.

"Well, we received word that a squad had gone rogue after a survivor of an attacked squad came running to us, we then got our orders to move out." Eren said.

"So a garrison officer sent Garrison members into Titan country." Erwin said raising an eyebrow at Eren.

"Yes sir, we proceeded to hunt them down for days, a week or two before we caught up to them, by this time I had lost more than half of my men to Titans and the rogue squad had been slaughtered." Eren said.

"So, you had lost more than half of your men to Titans in a week or two and when you caught up to the "rogue" squad, they were all already dead?" Erwin asked as he rested his chin on his hands.

"Yes sir, it also appeared that when we arrived we encountered Captain Levi, he had arrived at the scene before us and instructed us to return to the walls. We followed his orders, but while we were camping to avoid a storm, two titans got into the camp and ate more of my men reducing our numbers to either three or four." Eren said.

"So Levi had already discovered the dead bodies, was it him that killed them all?" Erwin asked.

"No sir, he claimed a large female looking titan was the cause of their deaths, this titan seemed to show a form of intelligence as it attacked." Eren said.

"I see, continue." Erwin said.

"A rescue party that had been searching for us managed to locate us due to the battle with the titans that got into the camp, my friends were the main composition of the force. It wasn't long after that we were attacked again by three or four titans costing the lives of one of my men, Jessie and my best friend Armin Arlert." Eren said.

"So at this point, you had one soldier under your command and the rest were your friends that had been sent to get you. Were your friends in the Scout Regiment?" Erwin asked as he jotted down some notes from what Eren had been telling him.

"Yes sir, I had one soldier left and no, my friends were not in the Scout Regiment." Eren said.

"So the Garrison sent even more of its soldiers over the wall?" Erwin asked as he tapped his pen on the paper.

"No sir, they were still awaiting placement, they were still members of the 104th." Eren said.

"Right, at this point, the wall was in sight?" Erwin said as he jotted a few more things down.

Eren looked down to see what Erwin was writing, but he had it blocked from Erens view.

"Yes sir, we managed to make it to the wall, but we were all suffering from exhaustion. Just as we popped a flare to alert the members on the wall of our coming, several Titans moved into the area which made getting their difficult." Eren said.

"But you made it to and up the wall and the only casualties were a few Garrison soldiers and the last member of your team, Elsa Schwartz. This is correct?" Erwin asked.

Eren tensed up at when he heard Elsa's name.

"Yes sir, you should know the rest." Eren said.

"Yes, we needn't go further into the matter." Erwin said as he closed the book he was writing in.

"Am I free to leave now sir?" Eren said.

"I want you to clarify one thing for me before you leave Eren." Erwin said.

"What is it that needs clearing up sir?" Eren said.

"So from what I understand, the Garrison sent a fresh squad over the walls where only the Scout Regiment is permitted to go and then dragged members from the 104th out into Titan country because they knew you?" Erwin said, his voice sounding agitated.

"Y-yes sir, that sounds about right." Eren said.

"You are free to leave." Erwin said

"Eren stood up and took his leave from Erwin's office.

"Jeez, when will the commander be done with Eren?" Connie said as he spun a coin on a table.

"Who knows… the commander could keep him all day." Sasha said as she rested her head on the table.

"You guys don't think…"

"Don't say it Jean." Reiner said

"Just speaking my mind like everyone else here." Jean whined

The door handle to the Barracks twisted and the door slowly opened, Eren slowly walked in and closed the door behind him.

"What did he talk to you about Eren?" Connie asked.

"Oh you know, just the whole thing about outside the walls." Eren said as he sat on a chair.

"Did anything happen to you?" Christa said in concern.

"Just memories I don't want to remember being brought up really." Eren said.

"Did he have any orders for us?" Reiner asked.

"No, nothing right now." Eren said.

"Hey, what are you brats doing?" someone said from the door.

Everyone turned to see who it was.

"I expect this place to be spotless when I am back."

A/N: So I hope you enjoyed this chapter, I will attempt (no promises) to work on this story and upload a chapter every 1-2 weeks, like I said, my main focus now is elsewhere.
