I LIIIIIIIIIIIIVE! Please forgive me for such a long hiatus! I promise I'll try to update more often! Without further ado, let's get started!

Chapter 11: Warriors

Forest green eyes gleamed in the darkness, powerful back legs bunched up and ready for the kill. The she-cat's white paws kneaded the ground just waiting in anticipation for the signal. Sensing a flicker of movement, Flowerpaw leaped away from her hiding spot and drove her claws into the chest of the sparrow before the prey could let out an alarm call.

Bringing the bird back to the ground, the cream tabby plucked the bird off the ground and proudly carried it back to camp, her striped tail waving in excitement. After two moons of training, Flowerpaw was getting ready for her final assessment and so far had impressed several warriors in the Clan with how quickly she had caught up with her siblings, putting the young cat at having a shot at being a warrior.

Reaching the edge of the gorge, Flowerpaw glanced down at the camp bathed in the warmth of the early new leaf sun. From what the she-cat could tell, all the apprentices were gone, possibly at battle training or hunting, so why had she been sent out to catch prey by herself? Letting out a sigh muffled by the sparrow she was carrying, the tabby turned away from the gorge and dashed to where she was keeping the rest of her prey.

Scraping the dirt away, the she-cat happily pulled out a squirrel and mouse and just before she could pick the two pieces of prey up, her ears twitched to the sound of a familiar voice.

"Nice catch," the voice of her brother mewed, "need some help bringing it back?"

"Great StarClan, Jaypaw!" Flowerpaw hissed in surprise "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

The gray tabby purred in amusement. "Sorry, Flowerpaw, couldn't help it." He stood up and padded over to his sister "But I mean it, need some help?"

"Yeah, I would. Thanks, Jaypaw."

"No problem."

Snatching up the squirrel, the amber eyed tom quietly waited for Flowerpaw to get a grip on the mouse and sparrow in her jaws before setting off on their way back to camp.

Back at camp, the two apprentices quickly set their prey on the freshkill pile, before breaking off to go see what their mentors would have for them. Taking a glance around, Flowerpaw couldn't see a sign of her mentor, Badgerface, anywhere in the camp.

"Flowerpaw."

The apprentice turned her head and caught a glimpse of Moonpaw lying down outside the medicine cat's den. The she-cat quickly rushed over to the quiet medicine cat and sat down in front of her.

"Something wrong, Moonpaw?" The tabby asked, slight concern showing in her eyes

Moonpaw simply shook her head. "There's no trouble," she mewed quietly "I thought you were looking for your mentor. He's with Sandclaw to get more juniper berries for Patchfoot."

"Does Patchfoot still have greencough?"

"Yes, Sandclaw doesn't think he'll last much longer though. Patchfoot is old and he's steadily getting worse, he's been too weak lately to even leave the elders den."

The cream she-cat's ears folded against her head. To hear that the black and white tom would soon go to StarClan would be a tremendous loss to the Clan.

Sighing, Flowerpaw quickly stood up and went to the apprentice den, twitching her tail to say goodbye to the future medicine cat and then strolling to the apprentice den to wait for Badgerface.

Unfortunately, Lizardpaw seemed to be waiting for her. He and his sister, Snakepaw, were made into apprentices a moon ago and despite that, they were as unpleasant as ever.

Lizardpaw's sleek, black pelt was fluffed out to absorb the sun's rays while Snakepaw simply watched the nursery.

"Hey, Flowerpaw, are you still being put on hunting duty?" The young, black tom sneered

The she-cat simply flicked her white tipped tail and ignored the other apprentice, veering away from the den and heading to the fresh kill pile but Lizardpaw followed, leaving his brown pelted sister behind.

"You haven't been to any battle training lately," the tom mewed. "is it because of your leg?"

Flicking her ears in annoyance, Flowerpaw curtly replied. "No, Badgerface just wants me to focus on hunting so that I can be ready for my assessment."

He snorted. "Yeah, right. I bet he just thinks that your leg can't hold you up and keeps you out of it."

"Lizardpaw!" A clear voice suddenly called out.

The tom immediately whirled around to face his mentor, Silverheart. The she-cat's pale green eyes gazed at Lizardpaw sternly before flicking her tail for her apprentice to follow her and going to the top of the gorge.

Sighing, Flowerpaw flopped down next to the fresh kill pile and took a vole for herself, quickly tearing into it

"Why is Lizardpaw so infuriating?" She thought to herself hotly. "I never did anything to him."

Two days after the spat with her fellow apprentice, it was finally time for her, and her siblings warrior assessments. Nightpaw had taken his the previous day and had been made into a warrior that night, he was given the name Nightwing.

Sitting in front of their mentors, the siblings eagerly looked across the small wooded area ahead of them.

Owlpool gazed at the apprentices and swepped his tail to indicate the woods. "Your task is to catch four pieces of prey each as fast as you can and bring them back here."

"If you find that working together will help you best in catching some prey, then you are allowed to do so." Badgerface put in, fluffing out his shaggy pelt.

"Remember, this is your last task as an apprentice. This will show Leafstar you are ready for the honor of becoming a warrior, do your best in this last test." Icestorm added, his eyes gleaming in the mid afternoon sun.

"Prove yourselves and you'll have your warrior names by the end of the day. Good luck." And with Owlpool's last statement, the siblings took off into the wooded area.

Screeching to halt once she found a clearing in the woods, Flowerpaw opened her mouth to let the air surround her scent glands and right away caught the scent of a mouse.

Crouching down, the tabby prowled forward, lightly setting her paws down so as not to alert the prey. Finally drawing to a stop, Flowerpaw bunched the muscles together in her haunches before springing and landing right on top of the mouse, sinking her teeth into the small animal.

Proudly holding up her catch, the apprentice quickly buried her catch and went on to finish her test.

In the end of twilight three siblings stood together in front of the rock pile and their leader with their clan surrounding them, their eyes gleaming with excitement.

"We have gathered here today to honor three apprentices who have done their best to learn the warrior code and have achieved their goal goals." Leafstar looked down at the apprentices and beckoned them forward with her tail. "I, Leafstar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend them, to you, as warriors in their turn. Robinpaw, Jaypaw, and Flowerpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan even at the cost of your life?"

There was no hesitation when the siblings replied at once: "I do!"

Leafstar jumped down from the rock pile and stood in front of Robinpaw.

"Robinpaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Robinwing. StarClan honors your agility and loyalty and welcomes you as a full warrior of SkyClan."

Leafstar rested her chin on Robinwing's head and the new warrior licked her leader's shoulder before stepping back.

"Jaypaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Jaytalon. StarClan honors your courage and and battle skills and welcomes you as a full warrior of SkyClan."

After repeating the same process with Jaytalon, the old leader turned to the youngest sibling.

"Flowerpaw, you didn't have a normal apprenticeship like your littermates did. But you did all you could do to catch up with them after your accident so that you could become a warrior with them. From this day forward you will be known as Flowerfrost. StarClan honors your dedication and kindness and welcomes you as a full warrior of SkyClan."

Laying her head on Flowerfrost's head, the warrior respectfully licked the old warrior's shoulder and stepped back to stand with her littermates, the Clan's cheers rising into the night sky.
