This will be the last chapter for a long time. I completed my goal in getting this story started, and now I'm going to get back to working on my Skylanders story.

Jenni: Finally!

Leaf: Don't worry about it! Yours will be continuing next week.

Chapter 5: Out at Last!

"Finally!" Holly yelled out as she ran out of the woods.

Calem walked out of the forest with Emberwing flying beside him. He was smiling at Holly's enthusiasm of finally getting out out of that forest and being another day closer to the next town. They had spent the morning walking through the forest, encountering the occasional Weedle and Caterpie, but had now left and would take one more day to get to the next town.

"What are you planning on doing once you get there?" Calem asked as Emberwing landed on Holly's shoulder.

"I'm planning on challenging the gym." Holly said turning around to face him. "I've heard about a Pokémon gym challenge and would like to go for it."

"Than we both have the same goal." Calem said walking up to her. "I'm also challenging the gym. I want to get stronger."

"That's a great goal. But are we going to travel with each other?"

"I think it would be best if we split up after we reach the next town. I will even watch your gym battle if you want."

"If you want to."

They continued walking in silence until a small green Pokémon jumped in front of them.

"What is that?" Holly asked Calem.

"I think it's a Burmy."

Holly took out her Pokedex and pointed it at the Pokémon.

"Burmy, the Bagworm Pokémon. To shelter itself from the cold, wintry winds, it covers itself with a cloak made of twigs and leaves."

"That sounds cool." Holly said, putting up her Pokedex and taking out Sparkheart's Pokeball. "I'm going to catch it." Holly threw Sparkheart's Pokeball in the air and the electric mouse let out a cry of excitement when she landed on the ground.

"Are you ready?"

"You bet! I can't wait to show off my skills!" The energetic mouse replied, electricity sparking from her cheeks.

"Use Quick Attack!" Holly called out as Sparkheart launched herself at the Burmy, leaving a silver streak behind her.

The attack connected with the Pokémon and it let out a cry of pain. The Burmy quickly shot out a white strand that hit Sparkheart's feet and made her stick to the ground. Sparkheart tried pulling her feet out of the sticky strand but cried out when the Burmy tackled her in the stomach.

"Use Thunder Shock while it's close!"

Sparkheart's cheeks and tail crackled with electricity before she launched a small bolt at the Burmy, shocking it. The Burmy yelled and fell down to the ground.

"You're mine!" Holly yelled as she threw the Pokeball at the small Pokémon.

The Pokeball hit the Pokémon in the head and it disappeared in a flash of red light.

One shake.

Two shakes.

Three shakes.

Ping!

Holly walked to the Pokeball and picked it up. Calem walked up to Holly and placed a hand on her shoulder before letting out a bright smile.

"Great job."

"Thanks." Holly said as she returned Sparkheart to her Pokeball and threw the Burmy's Pokeball into the air, letting it out.

The Burmy shook it's grass cloak and looked up at his new trainer with bright yellow eyes. Holly bent down and picked the Burmy up in her arms.

"Hello!" Holly said to the small Pokémon.

"Hello! Who are you?" Burmy asked.

"My name is Holly."

"That sounds like an awesome name! I would like one too..."

"I could give you one if you want."

"That would be great!"

"How about Leaftail?"

"I love it! I finally have a name!"

"My name is Emberwing. It's nice to meet you." The tiny robin said to the, now named, Leaftail.

"AHHH!" Leaftail yelled out when he saw Emberwing. "Stay away from me!"

Emberwing's eyes were wide from shock before he finally realized what the small bug type was afraid of.

"I'm sorry I scared you." Emberwing said while lowering his head. "I forgot that you were a bug type."

"I don't care! Just stay away from me!" Leaftail then looked at Holly with pleading eyes. "Please put me back in there!" He said motioning to the Pokeball.

Holly did what Leaftail wanted with sad eyes and returned the relieved Pokémon to his Pokeball and put it into her blue and white strapped bag.

"What are we going to do if Leaftail won't trust me?" Emberwing asked with worried filled eyes.

"I don't know. We will have to try and convince him to trust you." Holly asked.

"That was certainly surprising to see what that Burmy did." Calem said behind her.

Holly jumped. She had forgotten that Calem was with her the entire time she was talking with the two Pokémon. She turned around to face him, only to see that he had a calm face and didn't show any signs of knowing what went on between the three.

"It sure was." Holly replied nervously.

"Shall we go on before it gets dark?"

"Of course! Let's get going!" She said before running along the path with Calem beside her.

Authors Note:

There we go. The last chapter for a while for this story is going on hold for now. I am sorry for having to tell you this but Jenni has threatned me that if I don't get back to working on her story that she will put me in a cage over a pit of lava again.

P.S. Please review!
