THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! IT MEANS SO MUCH!

Please remember to review at the end! :)

The next night, she didn't greet him as he came home, and something in his heart froze. She always greeted him. No matter what.

"Caroline?" He called her name, and called a few more times before entering the kitchen. He released a sigh of relief when he saw her on the floor, crossed legged with a book in her lap. He smirked, and squatted down in front of her. "Caroline,"

In that moment, everything that he should have guessed, happened.

Caroline jumped, and her book jerked upwards, somehow hitting his nose, and sent him backwards on the floor.

"Oh, master!" She cried out, rushing to his side. She reached out with tender hands, and touched his face. "I am so sorry. I was reading, and I guess I lost track of time." She rambled, inhaling sharply when he jerked his eyes to hers.

Blood poured out of his nose, and she frowned. "Hold still, I think your nose is broken." She folded her arms over her chest, and blinked.

"Caroline, it's alright…" He screamed out in pain, and glared at her, but the look on her face stopped him. "What…?" He reached up as he slowly moved to sit, and groaned. "What is this?" He asked, and she shook her head. "Caroline…"

"It's a wolf's nose." She rushed out, clasping her hands underneath her chin.

He tried. He really did try to control his temper, but a wolf's nose… "What the hell?!" He screamed, eyes flashing.

Caroline groaned. "I'm sorry. I was reading this book, and I guess it stuck with me." She explained, shrugging her shoulders.

His eyes rolled. "What book?"

She lifted the book she had been enraptured in a few moments ago, and he sighed. "White Fang?"

She nodded, and tried to smile. "Stefan brought it earlier. He recommended it last night." She answered, looking at the book, fondly.

Stefan… Klaus seethed, but kept his mouth shut. He knew the pain he could inflict if he did, and he couldn't do that to her, not again. "Could you just fix it, please?" He growled, lowly.

Caroline sighed, folded her arms, and blinked with a nod.

Klaus felt air escaping through his nose, and he gently touched it. His old nose was back; the break fixed. His lifted his eyes to catch hers, and he could see the hope and relief in her eyes. "Thank you" He expressed, and she nodded, blinking once more for a towel and a basin of water.

She leaned forward, and dabbed the area around his nose, wiping the blood away, gently. He studied her face, and felt his blood simmer. She was beautiful, and so caring. Reaching up, he grasped her wrist, and pulled her hand down, waiting for her eyes to lift to look into his. He didn't know what to do with this woman in front of him. She drove him crazy, and yet she filled his heart with joy and laughter.

Caroline felt her heart pound in her chest, and slowly she pulled her hand back, as she leaned back on her knees. She felt a blush tinge her cheeks at the look on his face. Maybe he didn't love her, but the look on his face proved that he at least cared for her. That was a start.

She pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, and cleared her throat. She wished he would say something. Anything to cut the tension that was bubbling around them.

"Why were you in here reading?" He asked, breaking the silence.

Fear flashed across her face, and she jerked her head back and forth, looking for something, realizing that she had forgotten. "Oh dear, I forgot about him." She remarked, covering her mouth with her hand.

Klaus' face morphed from confusion to a wide-eyed stare. "Him who?"

Caroline swallowed, and opened her mouth to answer, when a scream erupted from the living room, and they both scrambled to their feet, with Klaus helping her stand, only briefly feeling her body heat igniting his own.

"The wolf…" She described, hesitantly, as her hands touched his chest.

Klaus' expression shifted to anger and then nervousness. "What the hell is a bloody wolf doing in my house?!" He shouted, causing her flinch, and step back.

"I think the better question is, who has he cornered?" She asked, fear leaking into her words.

"God damn it." He cursed, bursting through the kitchen door, and into the living room, where the sight before him was rather unexpected, and if he wasn't angry and nervous, he would have laughed.

"Oh, dear," Caroline whispered, behind him.

Trying to climb the fireplace mantle was a scared Stefan, and at the base of the fireplace was a large white wolf.

Stefan lifted his eyes and fear radiated from his gaze. "Klaus, get her out of here!" He shouted, and flinched when the wolf growled.

"Caroline…" Klaus began, turning to face her. "Get that bloody beast out of my house!" He shouted, pointing towards the wolf, who now turned his attention to Klaus and Caroline.

Caroline swallowed, and motioned with her head, causing Klaus to turn back around, and pushed her behind him. "Oh, master…"

Klaus rolled his eyes at her words, and shifted when the wolf began to move closer with his head bowed and ears pinned back. "Caroline…" He whispered, wishing he had his gun. His heart pounded in his chest, and he felt her hands caressing his shoulders, causing him to relax.

Caroline tugged her bottom lip between her teeth, and shifted her eyes to the side. "Klaus…" She whispered, squeezing his left shoulder.

He turned his head a fraction to look at her from the corner of his eye, and saw the nervous, scared expression on her face. Standing frozen on the fireplace was Stefan, who was watching the incident with confusion and fear.

Klaus rolled his eyes, and backed up as the wolf proceeded to get closer. "Caroline, get him out of here." He ground out, shifting slightly to look at her.

Caroline opened her mouth to protest, but the look in his eyes quieted her words. Slowly nodding, she focused on the wolf, and blinked, quickly.

In a second, the wolf was gone, and Klaus relaxed for a moment, turning to face her. "I won't even ask where he came from or what he was doing in my living room." He stated, holding her eyes.

Caroline moved her eyes around, and shrugged her shoulders. "Blame the book." She remarked, and he couldn't contain the chuckle from his throat.

"Oh, that's not the only thing I'll blame, Caroline." He returned, though the fire in his eyes was not anger.

She smiled, in spite of herself, and leaped into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Oh master, you were so brave, pushing me back behind you to protect me from the wolf." She exclaimed, her voice happy and light.

He chuckled, and wrapped his arms around her waist. "It's my job." He whispered in her ear, lowly with his voice husky.

She pulled back and looked into his eyes. "Was it really? She asked, innocently, searching his eyes for answers.

He smiled, and slowly shook his head. "Not completely," He answered, leaning forward to brush his lips over her smile.

"Uh, excuse me," The voice called, interrupting them at the special moment. They turned, and realized they were not alone, and that wasn't all… "What the hell just happened?"

Caroline opened her mouth, and shifted her gaze to Klaus, and watched as his eyes closed and a groan escaped his lips. "I'm sorry." She whispered, in a voice only Klaus could hear, and felt his arms tighten at her waist.

"Stefan," Klaus began, turning completely to face his friend, but didn't let go of Caroline. "You better sit down, mate, this is going to take a while."

Caroline nodded.

~XXX~

Stefan froze on the couch. His eyes focused straight ahead and his mouth was slightly open. This wasn't what he had in mind when he came over today. This was something different.

Something completely different.

Caroline stood next to Klaus, as he sat in the chair, and she clasped her hands in front of her body. She moved her head down and turned it to the right to look at her master, and bit her bottom lip. "Is he alright?" She asked, causing Klaus to lift his head, and slowly nod, though he wasn't sure either.

"A genie…" Stefan finally spoke, shifting his eyes back and forth between the two in front of him. "She's a damn genie." He added, pointing to Caroline.

Klaus slowly nodded, and stood up to wrap his arm around Caroline's waist, protectively. "Yes, she is, but she's also a woman, mate."

Caroline heard the words, and slowly turned her head with a soft smile on her face as she gazed at him, before bowing her head, to hide her blush.

"I know she's a woman, Klaus." Stefan remarked, standing up, pointing at her. "I mean, I went on a date with her." He added, roughly.

Klaus' arm tensed around Caroline's waist, and she placed her left hand on his chest. "Stefan, I'm sorry." She remarked, pausing for a moment.

"The waiter's pants didn't just catch on fire because of a candle, did it?" Stefan asked, watching Caroline, who shook her head in shame. "And that really wasn't a spontaneous trip you took the suspect on, was it?" He asked, shifting his gaze to Klaus.

"Caroline blinked me home with the prisoner." Klaus answered, in a tense voice.

Stefan smirked, and bowed his head. "And I thought I was going crazy." He muttered, closing his eyes.

He turned, and started towards the door.

"Stefan…" Klaus called, causing Stefan to stop, and face him.

"Look man, I'm not going to say anything, alright?" Stefan remarked, looking at Caroline. "Who would believe me, anyway? I mean, if I hadn't see it, I probably wouldn't have either." He added with a chuckle. "I'll call you later." He promised, leaving them alone in the house.

Caroline inhaled deeply, and let out a long sigh. "Well, that went well, don't you think?" She asked, trying to be light.

Klaus groaned, and dropped his arm from her waist. "Yeah, if Stefan doesn't go and blab to the whole precinct that I have a genie on hand." He ranted, running his fingers through his hair.

"He said, he wouldn't, Klaus." Caroline tried to calm him.

Klaus pivoted to face her, and his eyes held worry and mild anger. "I know what he said, Caroline, but what if he accidently tells someone about you." He remarked, approaching her. "Do you know what will happen if the wrong people ever found out about you being a genie?" He asked, reaching forward to grasp her upper arms.

She searched his eyes, and slowly reached up to place her hands on his chest. "I'm free, Klaus. You freed me. No one can force me to do anything that I don't want because of you." She returned, calmly.

Klaus saw the honesty in her eyes, and felt the tension escape from his shoulders. "Truly?" He asked, holding her eyes.

She smiled, and nodded. "Truly," She returned, lifting her right hand to touch his face, gently rubbing the scruff.

He sighed, and lifted his left hand to rub the back of his fingers over her cheek. "Why do I feel unsure?" He whispered, more to himself than to her.

She shrugged her shoulders, and opened her mouth as his thumb moved over her bottom lip, caressing it. Her body was burning at his tender touch and gaze, and the events from before seemed to fuel the thoughts that he did care about her, if only a little.

He stepped a fraction towards her, and pushed his left hand into her hair, caressing the back of her head. "What have you done to me?" He asked, innocently.

She opened her mouth, and saw the honesty in his words and eyes. Her heart leapt in her chest, as she waited.

Klaus lowered his head a fraction, and in a tender moment, he captured her lips with his. Passion ignited between them, and her arms moved down to encircle his waist, moving up, underneath his arms to caress his shoulders, while his right arm encircled her waist, and his left wrapped around her shoulders, bringing her closer.

Their lips were on fire as they touched each other, and Caroline felt her body being tilted to the side. It was like those moving pictures on the box late at night. The ones in black and white.

The doorbell rang, and Caroline moaned when it broke through her haze, and felt Klaus slowly pull back, licking his lips as he put a small distance between them.

Her eyes slowly opened, caught his, and she smiled. He returned her smile, before caressing her face and chin.

The doorbell rang again, and he stepped back to go answer the door.

If he had known what would happen next and who was on the other side of the door, he would have stayed in her arms, and let the ringing continue.

For as soon as he opened the door, another body slammed into his, and lips planted themselves on his. He heard Caroline's gasp, and in a moment, he was holding, no trying to push an affectionate redhead away from him, and the next he was holding an orange tabby.

He closed his eyes, and turned to find Caroline standing a few feet away, where he had left her, with her arms folded across her chest, and tears of anger and hurt in her eyes. "Caroline…" He began, just as the cat hissed.

Caroline jerked her head up with her nose in the air, and marched away towards the kitchen, leaving Klaus gritting his teeth, and kicking his door closed. He sucked in breath when the cat dug her claws in his arms, causing him to drop her on the floor.

Caroline slammed her hands on the counter, and shook her head. A perfect moment ruined by a… oh, she couldn't even say think the words.

She felt him enter the kitchen, and she expected a slew of scolding's, but instead, he leaned against the counter with his arms folded over his chest.

"I'm not going to apologize." She stated, looking straight ahead.

He hummed, and looked towards the door of the kitchen, eyes straight like hers.

"I won't turn her back, either." She added, her stubbornness leaking through her words.

Klaus hummed once more. His eyes moved to the side, watching her as inconspicuously as he could.

Caroline groaned, and turned to face his side, caught the corner of his eyes, as he slowly dragged his eyes forward, and let out a sigh. "You're not going to scold me?" She asked, though her voice was stiff and defensive.

He shook his head, slowly lowered his eyes, and turned his body to face her. "I would appreciate it if you would turn her back." He spoke out, gradually lifting his eyes to catch hers.

Her eyes flashed as she inhaled, deeply, and started to move away from him. "That harpy doesn't deserve to be human." She muttered, just as his hand grasped her upper arm, and pulled her to him.

"I agree." He remarked, causing her eyes to lift and hold his once more with a stunned expression on her face. "But, she is human, and needs to stay that way." He added, lifting his right hand to caress her face. "Please, Caroline,"

Caroline felt her skin burn at his touch, and her heart began to race at the tender expression on his face as he gazed at her. She wanted to acquiesce to anything he wished, but turning that…OH, how she wanted to scream. "Who is she?" She asked in a low tone, her voice shaking with jealousy and uncertainty.

He sighed, and continued to stroke her cheek, entranced by the softness of her skin. "Her name is Aurora, and she was someone I dated once years ago." He answered, wanting to add that she meant nothing to him, for how could she when he was becoming more and more involved with the woman in his arms with each passing hour.

She wanted to hear more words, no, needed to hear more words, which is why her next question caused him to smile. "Is she important to you?" She asked in a whisper.

Klaus lifted his hand once more to brush a strand of hair from her face, and shook his head. "No," He answered, as she smiled, only faintly.

"I suppose, I should turn her back." She relented, and stepped back from his arms. "Stay," She ordered, pointing her finger at him, and he chuckled at the expression on her face.

Caroline lifted her head high, and her posture was straight, when she entered the room, and found the tabby cat on top of the couch, sharpening her claws. Caroline crossed her arms, and with a nod and a blink, the orange tabby transformed back into the harpy who had come through the door a few minutes before.

The woman, Aurora, had no balance on the top of the couch, and screamed in surprise when she fell to the floor.

Caroline suppressed a laugh, and kept her stance, watching the woman stand, and straighten her too short dress. "Can I help you?" She asked, though her voice held venom.

Aurora lifted her head, and scowled. "Where is Klaus?" She asked, searching the room. "I know he's here." She paused, looking around her. "What happened?" She asked, her green eyes flashing.

Caroline kept her face as stoic as she could, her own sea colored eyes flashed. "Klaus is a little busy at the moment, but he sends this message to you." She remarked, trying to restrain herself from using her magic. "Leave him alone. One woman in his life is enough."

Aurora crossed her arms, and sneered at Caroline. "And I suppose that woman, is you?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

Caroline gave a curt nod. "It is."

The redhead stepped forward. "So you say, but Klaus is not a one woman man."

"He is now." Caroline returned, her eyes flashing with fire, causing Aurora to step back. "Leave, you are no longer welcome here."

Aurora inhaled deeply, and glared. "When Klaus gets tired of you, and he will, tell him to give me a call." She remarked in a cold tone.

Caroline shook her head. "I won't because he won't." She spat, following the redhead to the door.

Aurora turned, and looked Caroline up and down. "We'll see." She observed, before leaving Caroline on the other side of the door as it closed.

Caroline growled, blinked with a nod. "Let her walk home." She muttered, locking the door, and whirled around to find Klaus standing a few feet away with his arms crossed over his chest, and a stern look on his face. "I only stalled her car for a few minutes." She defended, as he walked towards her, dropping his arms to allow his hands to caress her upper arms.

"I know." He concurred, bending his head to focus on her eyes. "You were jealous."

She scoffed, and tried to jerk out his grasp, but his hold was slightly tight, but not hurting. "Dream on."

He chuckled, and smiled towards her. "Now you know how I felt when you went out."

She stilled her movements, and gazed into his face. She fought a smile and lost, before letting out a short laugh. She breathed out, and lifted her right hand to caress his face. "Will you get tired of me?" She asked, uncertainly.

Klaus smirked, dimples showing on his cheeks, and shook his head. "I don't think anyone ever would, love." He answered, leaning forward to brush his lips over hers, before pulling up. "But please don't turn any of my exes into cats." He muttered, and she laughed, relaxing in his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck, as he pulled her close.

"I promise." She relented, pulling his head closer to hers, and felt his mouth receive hers in a kiss that left her melting in his arms.

Meanwhile, outside, Aurora slammed her fist on the hood of her car, and listened as it finally started with the key turning in the ignition by itself. She stepped back, and a horrified expression appeared on her face. Shaking her head, she started running down the street with her car following behind her.

Klaus was nothing but trouble anyway.

Please be kind!

I have come to a decision this past week, and it affects you all. (In a good way, so don't get worried on me!) I am going to keep on writing, no matter what anyone says, because I'm writing for me. This is my escape from reality, and I'm sure you all, or at least most of you, agree with me!

So, that being said, I'm hoping to wrap up a few stories by September. I was going to shoot for August, but I'm going on a two week vacation, and though I will write, as I should have internet where I'm going, I am going to be relaxing and getting back to the basics of my joy! (So maybe more chapters during those two weeks... who knows!)

Next Chapter: Adventure in the Precinct

Until Next Time...
