A/N-Despite the fact that I continue to get nasty guest reviews I am getting a lot better at ignoring them. I am learning that if you want to write Fan Fiction then you accept the trolls who enjoy destroying people's joy, self-esteem, and love of a hobby for 80%.

That being said I am going to address a guest review. Let me start by reminding each and every person. What I write is my opinion. As an American I am entitled to one like the joke you are when you don't have the guts to share who you are. If you don't like it I understand.

Not that it matters but I am a black woman so when I write some parts of my story they are often my opinions, perceptions, and thoughts. So yes guest as a black woman. I don't see color. I'm not wealthy. I don't have much right now. I have struggled since losing my leg. Medical problems have kept me out of work. I'm not going to debate if someone is racist or not. Some would say you are racist because of your comments.

Also News flash FYI the Olivia Pope we see on TV wouldn't do 80% of the things I write about. That would require her to stop running and face her fears. That is why it is called Fan Fiction. I get to write however the hell I want.

I'll let go the penny digs, but what you won't do is call me ignorant or talk about my education. If you want to do that then face me otherwise look at yourself in the mirror. All of you guests. You are bullies at your finest. Except you no longer scare me. No longer will I let you take what little joy I have left. If I stop writing I would end up committing suicide, because my brain would think about all that is going wrong for me. You guys don't know what people are going through. Grow the hell up.

The couple were getting started with their day when Olivia received an email that was labeled important. She opened it up and it stopped her. Fitz came over and pulled her onto his lap on the sofa so they could read what was sent to her.

Olivia opened up the link and the couple read the blog. It stated:

"I have to admit like everyone else I was surprised when the President & First Lady stopped in on a Women's Conference in Virginia that I was attending. It was big for us, but I've been to and saw a lot of bigger venues and conferences. I've learned over the years when you are dealing with famous people that often times what you see on television is not even a fraction of who they are in real life. By that I mean a lot of them are entitled, rude, and condescending. They have too many expectations and demands, and forget they are humans too. Even more so they forget that they are there who they are because of everyday people. The First Lady like most is nothing like you see on television. She is better. Something I can only say about a handful of people. Because of who she is she has to consider optics."

"She has to be prepared for people to pick her apart from what she wears, to what she says, and even how she moves. The woman I witnessed was ten times better, and I attribute that to the fact that there were no cameras. Nothing more nothing less. She was kind, engaging, honest, open, funny, and most importantly down-to-earth. Many of us later talked about how we forgot the couple in front of us was the President and First Lady."

"Before I go on I want to say that I gained a ton of respect for the President. Not because he is the President, but the man I saw. He didn't walk in that room as President. He walked in that room as the husband of the First Lady of the United States. I can tell you that is a first for me. I can honestly say I have never saw a man with as much power as he does stay in the background, because he wanted to be. He was happy supporting his wife. He was happy to be by her side as much as she was happy to be by his."

" Something I didn't see when he was married to the former First Lady. I'm breaking my own rule. Something I've never done since I started my first company. I am endorsing a politician through my company. I believe that the President of the United States and First Lady Grant are the right ones to lead us now, and for another four years. What you see is what you get, and for those of you who are fortunate enough to meet the couple you will see that are wonderful human beings. Even more than than excellent role models. Especially the First Lady."

"Many of us were thrilled she picked a day where so many young women were in attendance. If I could wish for any woman outside of our family for my daughter to look up to it would be Mrs. Grant. I won't get into the specifics of a conversation I overheard, but I will tell you that I saw Mrs. Grant first-hand change a young woman's life. When that young woman told her she wanted to be like her; she immediately told the young woman no. She should want to be herself, and take things she liked about the First Lady to make who she was even better. She taught me a valuable lesson at that moment. She is using her title and power for good. It is not about who she is, but what she can do. I know that the fixer in her is not comfortable being front and center, but she has put her fears aside to make this country a better place."

" What may surprise everyone even more is that I never personally spoke with Mrs. Grant. She has no idea that I am writing about her. When I decided to write this article I knew many would wonder why. I get nothing. I have no direct quotes or pictures. For all I know she may not realize I wrote the article, but I wanted to also set an example. Vice President Langston went on television to defend the First Lady. As a white woman I want to stand beside this black woman. I know that we all hate to talk about race, but yet race still defines our lives. I want it to be known that I support this woman. I support this black woman who happens to be our First Lady. Her race is not what defines her. I can see why the President and his children from his first marriage love her so much. She is kind, considerate, humble, and caring. Someone that we would all be so fortunate to have in our lives. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. This is mine. As always I look forward to reading your comments."

Olivia sat there stunned. The article was well-written, and she was humbled. For the first time she realized the importance of being the First Lady.

She looked at her husband. She knew how he felt about the article. There was no need to ask him.

Fitz kissed her forehead, "I couldn't have said it better myself. Although I'm glad she did. She was unbiased, and saw all of you Livvie. I know sometimes you think I'm trying to placate you, but I'm not. I really love everything about you, and she hit the nail on the coffin. I love being by your side because I know that despite your fears you love me enough to be my mine. Whatever you are thinking about I'm in."

Olivia smiled. She kissed him, "I'm sorry when I give you a hard time. It gets easier everyday. I think that being on the trail will help me. It has already and we are just getting started. I know that you feel the way she described, and I can never thanked the man above enough for giving us this chance."

They were in North Carolina. They had plans to visit several parts of the state. When Olivia & her team were researching states Olivia found North Carolina was really an inviting state for them for several reasons.

North Carolina was open to change. North Carolina is traditionally known as a red state, but when President Obama ran for office they became a blue state. President Obama received their 15 electoral votes. Although he didn't win North Carolina when he ran for reelection it was close. He only lost the state by 92,000 votes.

Another think Olivia researched were the demographics of interracial couples. Studies show the number of married interracial couples doubling and tripling in some states. In North Carolina 12.6% of their population were interracial couples. Fitz & Olivia saw that as a positive that if they won the state it would be more than because he was a Republican.

All of the events they scheduled in North Carolina were very relaxed. They made sure to hit the mountain, triad, and the coast.

Most of their time was spent in the Triad because of the kids. They spent two days in Winston-Salem. One day was spent at Parkland to present the school and Gwen with their scholarships and Newborns in Needs.

Olivia brought Ayden along to the organization's main location. Everyone especially the kids enjoyed seeing what their hard-work had done. They noticed that construction was going on. Fitz & Olivia were brought to tears when they were told that because of their children the organization was able to do more. Due to the donations and money they raised the director was able to take get approved for a loan to expand. They no longer had a waiting list, and once the expansion was complete they would be expanding their service.

Karen & Jerry tried to downplay what they did. Local news outlets were there when the announcement was made. They were humble and both of them said that all the focus needs to me on the families. They want for nothing and it feels good that they could go to bed tonight knowing that others would be okay.

The media would try to get Fitz & Olivia to be at the forefront when they were at the school and the foundation, but the couple reminded them that this was their children's projects. This was their moment and they expected the media to respect that.

The next day when they visited Project Linus the same thing occurred. A parent recorded Olivia making the statement again. When she posted the video on her page stating how wonderful it was to see the First Lady support the kids it went viral. Parent groups and organizations immediately started to endorse the President.

Olivia was sitting at the table. She knew how social media worked. They had used it several times to either save a client by showing a side of them the public didn't see or destroy someone to help their client.

It was weird for her to see the world jump on her band wagon, but at the same time she loved it.

Karen sat down beside her bringing her out of her thoughts, "Personally Jerry & I are glad that the world gets to see why you are so wonderful. I imagine this is weird. Dad told us to give you time to adapt. I understand mom, but I'm not going to pretend that I don't think you don't deserve the praise. You have for a long time. For all of the crap you take I'm glad that the praise is louder than the criticism."

Olivia smiled at her daughter, "Thank you honey. Where is everyone else?"

"Spending guy time together. I swear Ayden has an old soul. He is starting to hold his own bottle, and he wants real food. I see why he weighed in at nine pounds."

Olivia threw her head back laughing.

"Well your dad and I are feeding him like we were fed too at times. My mom thought it was a waist to buy baby food. She said all baby food is nothing more than pureed and smashed food. Your dad said his favorite nanny was an older black woman. She felt the same way. Beside I think he likes how my mashed potatoes and peas taste. However your dad giving him a bone to suck. I can't top that one."

"Yeah you lost mom."

"Well since the guys are doing their thing. How about we head into the room and watch a movie together."

"I would love to."

Olivia loved being a parent to all of her kids, but she really enjoyed her time with Karen. She knew that Fitz loved spending time with Jerry. He felt like he didn't spend enough time with him when he was married to Mellie.

The family continued to travel. They finally made it back to Ohio where it felt like they were receiving a hero's welcome.

The world doesn't often see a President show his emotions. When Fitz came face to face with the students that were kidnapped he got choked up. When he saw the young woman he helped through her panic attack he broke down. They shared a long embrace. She presented him with a replica of her dad's dog tags.

Fitz found out that the two of them had been struggling financially since her dad died. His death benefits helped for a short time, but since he was the bread winner they quickly fell into financial debt.

Abby knew that Fitz wanted to do something so during their morning briefs one day she showed him a Go Fund me page that had been set up to help them. With Huck's help he made a donation of $250,000 that could never be traced back to him. When he read that the young woman would be able to finish her education, they would not lose their job, and they were both able to get decent transpiration in addition to money in the bank Fitz was satisfied.

When Olivia read about the donation she knew it was her husband. She fell in love with him all over again. She could see that donation meant more to him than some of his bigger accomplishments. He really loved people.

The next day they visited Wigs for Kids which was one of the organizations that received money when the kids did they fundraiser.

Karen had not cut her hair in a while. She told everyone it made it easier for her to put up. The truth was she wanted to get it cut to donate. She had talked to Abby & Quinn. They made the calls so it could be a surprise.

She was going to get it cut into a short bob. She had never went with a cut that short before. When she sat down in the chair her family was in shock especially when they realized it was planned.

Olivia could tell that Karen was okay with her decision but nervous so she put Ayden in her lap. When Ayden hugged her neck it was a moment that would stand out for some time.

Olivia kissed her cheek and told her how proud of her she was. That took away any anxiety that she had.

The hair stylist did a great job, and when Karen finally looked at the finish project she wished she had done it sooner. The hair cut really fit her face. The support of her family made the moment even more special. As Karen took pictures with children who benefited from the donations Karen realized how much she put stock into things that didn't really matter.

That night the family was enjoying dinner when Olivia received two folders. One was on the blogger to confirm her plans which she expected. The other she did not, and her heart dropped.

Fitz could tell something was wrong. So did the kids. They took Ayden and left the room.

Fitz went over to his wife, "What's wrong baby?"

He handed her the folder. All he saw was red.

She could tell that he was forgetting his was a President. He was a man, father, and husband first and foremost.

Mellie had sat down and done an interview to discuss her life in prison for a television show on ID. She also discussed her life including her time in the White House. This of course led into her marriage, divorce, and the children. She painted Olivia as a woman who took her man, because she couldn't keep her own in check.

Her team had already done some digging. It seemed that Edison had not learned his lesson. He decided that since he couldn't trash the couple he would go to someone who would. His people were good enough to cover their tracks to make sure that the interview aired before they had a chance to pull it. Still not good enough to cover their everything. At least from Huck. Mellie had been transferred to a minimum security prison, and it seemed she had a lot more money on her books.

Olivia caressed her husband's face, "Do you trust me?"

"You know I do."

"You deal with the kids. I'll deal with Mellie."

Fitz leaned over and shared a passionate kiss with his wife. When he finally pulled back he said, "Put the dog to sleep once and for all. Save Edison for me. When the time is right I'm going to show him why you never mess with my family."

"You have to stop talking dirty to me. We are in crisis mode."

Fitz laughed.

"You are the man of the house. Whatever you say honey?"

"What you think matters Livvie. Do you want to handle it differently?"

"Nope. I want to be in the audience which I'm sure you will make happen."

"You will baby. I promise."

Olivia placed a call to Andrew while Fitz went to talk to the kids. Olivia was packing a bag. Quinn & Melissa were scheduling interviews so Olivia could respond to Mellie's interview.

Jerry & Karen burst into the room crying. By the time Fitz went out to talk to them they had received a link that showed the interview. They had watched their biological mother bash their mom.

Even in prison she still didn't understand how embarrassing it was when she did this crap. In the past Olivia made excuses for Mellie. That was her mistake but one she wouldn't make it again.

Jerry looked at Olivia, "Mom, whatever you do please don't let her do this again. I can't go through this. She doesn't care who she hurts. It is all about her. Go nuclear mom. I can't."

He couldn't finish his statement. Seeing them destroyed pissed her off on a whole new level. She sent a text to release the tapes.

She looked at the kids, "Your dad and I have this under control. Don't let her win. If you break down she wins. I know you are upset, but mom is a big girl. I'll handle this fall out, and I promise we will never deal with her again after this. Cheer up! Ayden & I will be back in a couple of days. We will Face Time. Take care of dad for Ayden & I."

They held onto Olivia tighter for several minutes before finally getting up. Olivia finished getting ready. Marta got Ayden ready. Fitz made sure her travel & hotel arrangements were made.

He rode with them to the airstrip. Ayden held onto his hand from his car seat. Fitz smiled at him.

Olivia grabbed his other hand, "We'll be back before you know it."

Fitz could only nod. It seemed like every time they were happy someone was trying to rip them apart. Why couldn't people leave well enough alone?

They boarded the plane. Shortly after take off Andrew emailed Olivia to confirm the videos were sent.

Once she made it to New York they got settled in. She called Fitz and the children. They talked for a few minutes. She told them to get some sleep since they had stops in the morning.

Shortly after they got off the phone Olivia turned the TV up.

NEWS

Kimberly Mitchell: Earlier tonight we watched an in-depth interview with Melody Francis the former First Lady. During the interview Ms. Francis implied that the current First Lady imposed herself in her married with the President. She claimed she had the affairs because her husband fell in love with his campaign manager. She was lonely. The kids loved her more. She was fun where I was strict. Sadly, the current Democratic Presidential Nominee fell out of love with Mrs. Grant after she lost their baby. She came on the campaign. I admit we weren't in the best place, but we were trying. I didn't do this interview to say I'm a saint. We know that I'm not, but I think it is only fair that the world knows who Olivia Grant really is.

KM: There is no news out of the Grant camp tonight. We do know that the First Lady has already scheduled interviews. We are to assume that she is ready to answer some tough questions. We have only shown you a clip from the interview. A lot of accusations and claims were thrown out tonight. I question the former First Lady. It seems odd to me that after all of this time she is doing an interview that would hurt the President & First Lady. I'm curious how she knows such intimate details about the relationship Mrs. Grant had with the former Senator. It seems like their camp would have said something by now. I'm sure this interview is only the beginning.

Olivia smiled thinking Kimberly how right you are.

The next morning in time for the six o'clock news.

BREAKING NEWS:

We have received video tapes to contradict pretty much everything that the former First Lady said in her interview. We have video of Ms. Francis actually calling Mrs. Grant out for leaving her husband. She actually told Mrs. Grant she left the team. So despite what she said in her interview Mrs. Grant was actually not interfering in their marriage. From the videos their marriage had no hope of recovering despite her walking away. The only thing Mrs. Grant lied about is how happy the couple were. She was actually teaching them to fake it. There is also numerous emails that the former Mrs. Grant sent to the boarding school making sure that her kids stayed there. She was made aware when Mrs. Grant sent care packages to the kids. When she visited the kids she was given a report. She knew and she replied that the kids better be glad she visited, because she was too important look at them run around.

Olivia smiled as she got dressed. She went to all of her interviews. Like they reported the only thing she lied about what how she had to make them fake being happy. When asked why her answer was simple. She knew her husband was the best man for the job, and she wasn't going to allow Mellie to destroy his chance. She understood it was deceptive, but if she had to make them fake it in order to make him President then it was a small price to pay.

By the time Olivia finished her last interview she had lost a couple of points, but no major damage. After all President Grant was an excellent President. More importantly she was there for the children.

She made it to the secure facility where Mellie was transported. Mellie thought it was Edison so she was shocked to see Olivia. They made sure she had not saw any TV so when Olivia walked in she gloated. Olivia never said a word.

Finally she nodded. They sat an IPad in front of her so she could see the latest news. As she watched Olivia win yet again she was floored. Edison assured her it was going to work.

Olivia smiled, "You can't stand the fact I won so you sided with my ex who forgot that I have all of his dirty little secrets, but my husband is handling him. The same man you think is weak. You hurt my children. I had to bring my youngest with me. Separate him from his daddy to deal with this bullshit. I had to see my oldest two cry, because yet again you drudge out this crap. I'm done. No we are all done. The President & I as well as the children find you to be a danger to us. You having access in the prison you are in endangers the country. Furthermore the information provided was false. The attorney general here is making sure those who helped are going to be held accountable. New people in place. They all agree that you need to be back in a maximum security prison. Due to your notoriety you are can't be in the general population. Enjoy your two hours a day. I told you not to fuck with me or my family. Fitz is mine. Always has been from the moment we met. Those children are mine. They are not toys but humans with feelings. This is the last time you get to hurt them."

Olivia stood up. Mellie reached out and touched her. The guards tackled her. Olivia walked over.

"So I get punished while Edison gets away with it."

"He is not getting away with anything. You should have stayed down. I told you not to mess with my kids. Now that I have had one of my own my claws are even sharper and longer. What you thought was that when I had Ayden I would throw Karen & Jerry away. I finally had my own biological child. I told you in that hospital they were mine. Enjoy your hole. I hope you suffer."

Olivia walked out.

Meanwhile Edison was watching everything unfold. His person told him he was good. All the fall out was on Mellie. No one had questioned him. The plan had not worked like he wanted, but some damage was done. When they had their first debate in a couple of months he could piggy back off their dishonesty. He smiled. Olivia would regret not choosing him.

A/N-More on the trail coming up.
