Mina peaked in Serena's room through the slightly open door. Her lips parted ready to call out to her friend, when she noticed Serena staring at herself in the mirror, dressed only in bra and panties, and her wish to mouth her question disappeared. Mina stepped away and, for a moment, a small flame of jealousy flared in her heart. But it was as quickly doused with the apprehension that her plan had worked. Even better than she might have thought. To think our little sunbeam would go so far… She chuckled to herself. Well, this means I will have to inspect Rei's closet instead. After all, I cannot possibly wear something of my own to a date. And so Mina headed towards Rei's room with a changed plan on her mind, now will she not only go through the Fire Senshi's closet but maybe even listen to her advice on how to dress up for her much anticipated evening outing.

Oblivious to the near embarrassing encounter on her part, Serena kept on staring on the few dark blemishes on her skin. She wasn't sure when they were made, but she was certain that they were made with and for pleasure, both hers and Darien's. She lightly touched the love mark that was just above her right hip, a bit lower and it would partly be covered by her panties. She softly traced the skin, going up her abdomen to the other visible love mark – just below her bra. She blushed in remembrance on how that one got there and was happy at the same time that Darien was sane enough to leave them in places she could cover with clothes. She wouldn't enjoy the teasing of her friends.

Unbeknownst to her, Mina was just telling all about it to Rei, while simultaneously raiding her closet and getting an earful from her raven-haired friend that she had kept her date a secret until now.

Serena put on shorts and a t-shirt. It wouldn't do well to dwell on her yesterday's activities with Darien. As much as she enjoyed it all, and enjoy is a word too small to describe her gained satisfaction, she now felt foolish for running away from his apartment while he was in the shower. She refused to think of how it must have looked in Darien's mind. She shouldn't have left without leaving a note. But you did leave behind blood stained sheets. At this thought, she blushed even more.

She reached for her hairbrush when her eyes landed on the still unopened graduation gift from Darien. To avoid overthinking, she quickly grabbed it and opened the wrapping that hid a small jewellery box. One small enough to hold a ring. Don't be foolish, he gave this to you before you … slept… together… Serena sighed in frustration. I can't even properly admit what we did in my mind! She opened the small box and a silver necklace fell onto the floor. She had opened the box upside down. Typical Serena.

The blonde leaned down and picked up the dainty chain to inspect it closer. The small rose ornament the chain was attached to was beautifully made and even had a small sparkling stone in the middle. Serena quickly put the necklace on and admired the tasteful gift in the mirror.

A man on the other side of said mirror crushed a glass in his hand, the glass shards puncturing the skin and drawing blood, he then proceeded to lick the blood off while keeping his eyes on the girl in front of him. The anger he was feeling made him wish he had made his move sooner. Now he had to speed up the preparations. Demande also realised he missed his chance to deflower this precious little thing. He vowed to have that man's head when he takes the girl, and before that he will make him suffer.

Mina was slowly walking side by side with Kennet, their hand touching from time to time but not daring to intertwine. So far, their date was going nice. In Mina's opinion, maybe even too well. Rei's dress was a good choice. They were now simply strolling around the city, with each turn getting closer to the park. Being just the two of them, his company was even more agreeable. The restaurant had been a nice surprise and, this being a Monday evening, not too much crowded. She glanced at her companion and was met with blue-grey eyes and a smile.

She was ready to voice her compliments when a loud smashing of glass and screams of people interrupted the pleasant evening. They both turned to the source of the noise a few blocks in front of them, a youma had destroyed the display windows of few local shops and was now jumping on the roofs and away from the scene. Its claws damaging the buildings and sending debris on unsuspecting bystanders.

Mina reacted without thinking and started to head towards the site of destruction. When she had passed few of the buildings, her mind caught up on the situation and she turned towards Kennet, sending him a look of worry. He was still standing where she had left him but the look on his face told her the mistake she made. A look full with so many emotions, that Mina managed to sort out only few of them – confusion, trepidation, resolve – before he marched towards her and, with a quick look around them, softly took her upper arm and guided her in one of the nearby empty alleys.

So many thoughts were running through Kennet's mind when the youma appeared. Mina's safety, getting the others, preparing for the oncoming battle. Just as he started to think of a reason to make Mina go home without him to stay safe, he saw her head straight into the direction of his next opponent. First, he hoped that she was just willing to help the injured, then his thoughts changed on the lack of reaction when met with the sight of a youma. Who would be so unruffled by the dangers of an alien creature? Why would she just run towards it? Could she possible be one of the …? He had to act quickly.

His hand still on her upper arm, he asked her the question that left her eyes wide and conflicted. "Are you one of the Senshi?" He had no time to beat around the bush, there was a youma, he could explain himself later, when this was all settled. "Mina, I need to know. Are you one of the Senshi?" Now he was pleading. Despite the distant noise of sirens and screams, her whispered reply was heard clearly, "Yes." They looked into each others eyes, she awaiting his response and he dreading the answer to his next question.

Before he could ask the next question, she managed a simple counter question, "Why do you ask about Senshi?" The fear of him being the new enemy was lurking in the back of her mind. The jealousy that she felt towards Serena earlier made her angry, why can't she have a relationship too? Must something always come in her life and make her being a Senshi the only important thing? Kennet saw the flicker of fear and anger in her eyes and decided that there was no point of hiding. He released her and took a step backwards.

He let the transformation take over and now in front of Mina was standing Kunzite, the snug plates of his armour slightly reflecting the evening's sunrays. His sheathed sword by his hip and his pale orange tunic under the breastplate so familiar from the battles shared in the near past. Mina exhaled. "You are the leader of the Generals." Kunzite smiled at her in reply, "we would rather prefer if you called us Shitennou."

He feared to ask the question she interrupted before. Knowing that she one of the Senshi was nothing compared to the fact that he couldn't cope if she wasn't the one Senshi he wished her to be. Despite the memories from his past containing no emotions, he knew that they each had a soulmate. And he had a very distinct feeling that she was his, in all their somewhat short acquaintance he has come to appreciate her in his life. Kunzite hoped that fate wouldn't try to play a dirty game with them. Having feelings for one of the Senshi and her not being the one from his memories would be too much of a burden to bear. The two images would be always clashing and any relationship would be injured beyond repair.

"I'm Sailor…" started Mina, but was interrupted by the sharp 'no' coming from Kunzite. "Before you tell me, can I just have one thing?" Mina nodded in assent and was surprised by his lips on hers. His actions were so fast she didn't have time to react properly. And she couldn't complain now, as the feeling being kissed by the man in front of her was exquisite. For a moment, she let herself forget everything. But just for a moment, her Senshi responsibilities were urging her to deal with the threat of a youma.

While feeling his hands on her waist and one of them slowly tracing the curve of her back and resting on her nape, she let her transformation take place. She felt him stiffen a bit when her clothes changed and the silent clank of their touching breastplates – his as warriors and hers a feminine one, mostly just tiny metal plates covering her sternum and breasts – told him that now he was holding one of the legendary Senshi. He eased their kiss to a stop and rested his forehead against hers, his eyes still closed. Knowing she was a Senshi didn't dissipate the illusion of the glamour that hid her both identities. A part of him was afraid to find out her Senshi's identity while at the same time almost certain of it.

Kunzite opened his eyes and was met with the sparkling blues of Sailor Venus. He presented her with a grin and kissed her once more with greater passion and ardour. She replied in kind, leaning into him, letting him hold her. "Will you tell why you were afraid of my secret identity?" Sailor Venus asked when they ended their kiss. "Yes, I will, but after we deal with the intruder."
